Great experience! Fast and very informative. Eva answered all my questions, helped with design ideas, and made the whole thing painless. Also, they were so great with my dog!

The girl at the front seemed bothered to talk to me while I was asking her questions. Not a very helpful experience

Can't say enough about all the great help we received from a young lady named Allison, she was so helpful, knowledgeable and energetic. If only we could get that kind of customer service everywhere. If you have any special memory you need framed this is the place

Extremely expensive! 500$ for a 12" X 16" custom frame!
No doubt the job quality is good, but this place is an absolute rip off

I am a 15 year veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces. I brought in my medals and patches to get framed. I called around Calgary and was recommended to go to 17th Ave Framing. When I dropped off my items to be mounted, I discussed with x 2 employees. We came up with a basic setup, picked the type of frame, glass and took photos. I made it very clear twice that if they can clean up my patches, which have small threads sticking up from natural wear and tear. They both said no worries, they will do it before they mount it. I also asked them to allow me to open the back after so I can remove my medals for Remembrance day ceremonies down the road. They also said no worries, they do this alot. It was 2 weeks before they called and I went to pick it up. I was quite excited to see it. The total cost was 430$ for a very basic 2 x 3 ft mounting and framing. I figured do this once and do it right, happy to pay the professionals what they are worth.

When I showed up, everything looked great, except it was obvious the framer didn't clean up the small threads on the patches. I kept things professional and pointed it out to the employee (the two ladies who took my order weren't working that day). Then another senior employee/manager showed up too. He suggested that I take it home and open it myself to "clean up the thread". He also suggested that if they cut it the whole thing might unravel. That's absolutely not true. I was quite disappointed, as I was very clear in my instructions on day one. It's such a small job, to take a pair of scissors and cut away the loose threads. I would have done it myself. I explained this to the shop. They reluctantly said it will take a few days to do this. I said no problem, I can wait. I felt like the whole point was to get the professionals to do this and I picked the place for ATTENTION TO DETAIL. Now the shop appears to want to dump their lack of attention to detail to me.

2 days later, someone called me to let me know that when they opened the back to clean up the threads, there was extra glue which ripped the back and now asking me what to do. How am I supposed to know? They told me 2 courses of actions to remediate the situation. I picked the one that seemed the least amount of trouble for them. I went to pick up my frame after 2 weeks, so at this point it's been 4 weeks. The frame looked great. No more threads, and their stop gap fix appeared really nice. Cant tell the mounting background was ripped.

Overall, if there wasn't the back and forth, I would have given 5 stars. I was quite annoyed that when the threads were present, they asked me to take it home and fix it myself. I am so glad I stood up and said no, as the backmounting paper would have ripped if I opened it myself. Overall, I am so happy with my medals and badges framed up nicely. It contained 15 years of my life that I am still trying to come to terms with. I wished the Framers would have paid more attention to detail instead of trying to dump it on me who clearly had no idea what to do. ADVOCATE for your consumer rights.

On time, the selection of matt recommended made it stand out! Wrapped to protect it from the rain and included hooks. Wow!

The process is simple, service is great, and they do a quality job in a very reasonable timeframe. I come back here over and over again.

Christine, Mark, and Bernard are the best Framers in Western Canada. Their attention to detail is incredible and worth its weight in gold. Highly recommend for any type of frame!

Very informative and attentive staff. I had no idea what considerations went into framing a canvas print, but the staff at 17th Avenue Framing explained the entire process and then helped me pick out the perfect frame for the print and made sure it would compliment the design of our home. I chose a frame that they told me would have a slightly longer turn around time as it had to be brought into the shop, but they we’re able to get the finished product to me ahead of schedule. Amazing attention to detail and customer service. They’ll be our go to framing shop from now on.

We have been using 17th Avenue in the last few months for several framing jobs. They are amongst the best we have ever dealt with.

I have been using 17th Ave Framing for the past 6 years for all of my framing needs. Being an avid art collector, I utilize 17th Avenue services on a weekly basis. I have never had anything but excellent five star service from Bernard, Mark and Christine throughout this time. The prices are reasonable and competitive, the delivery time is excellent, the service and attention to detail is impeccable. Their services truly embody the ethics of old school excellence. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

Went to have a document framed there and used one of their ready made frames, while it looked well put together, the frame itself had several nicks and and scratches on in. It was explained that they use the left-over wood from their custom frames to make these ready-made frames. Thats fine, just don’t use damaged materials to make them.

Anyways asked for a refund and will take my documents somewhere else. 3 stars because the staff working there were extremely professional and they probably do good custom work.
