I definitely recommend Don's shop. Legit service and quality. I was in search of a good independent Toyota mechanic after buying my 2013 4runner and saw recommendations from multiple places to go here (beyond forum). It was only for an oil change but I can tell from talking to him and how he gave me tips, that he really cares about your vehicle and will give you honest advice even if it means going somewhere else for something.

Don is great and an expert in his field. I would go to him again and avoid the dealership in the future.

The best Toyota specific repair shop in the city. If you're in North Calgary, don't go anywhere else for Toyota maintenance. Can sometimes be very busy and difficult to book an appointment so plan ahead!

I had 2 different quotes on my car from 2 different mechanics that both varied but were both around 7 k. 41st auto took a deep dive look at my vehicle and I did not need anything done. I am a 70 year old woman and some people see me coming as an easy mark. Thank God for people like Don that are still honest and have a moral fiber.
He knows his business and is a top notch mechanic! You can tell he takes real pride in what he does!
I will need work in the future and can trust Don and 41st Auto to advise me and work will be done that only needs to be done!
I have found my forever mechanic and wish he worked on different makes of cars so I could refer everyone I know to him!
Please take your vehicle to Don as you will be able to be confident that your family will be safe in any vehicle he works on. You can also be confident that your not being charged for work you do not need or being over charged. He is absolutely the best mechanic I have ever met and had the pleasure of doing business with!

Don is a honest guy. The best mechanic in town. 2nd time I’ve been there. 2013 toyota tundra - Spark plug change and Oil change. He check everything in your vehicle and tell you honestly whats going on. Excellent service and very good price. Just booked ahead of time, lots of loyal customers get there vehicle service there. EXCELLENT service and repair work! What a relief to have a very skilled mechanic quickly diagnose the problem - CRV Honda acuator (engine noise). Don is very diligent and works til he is personally satisfied that repairs are done to his standard. I will be returning for sure and so will my son! So very grateful and impressed. Thanks Don!

I've been to Don with my old Hyundai Accent bunch of times and have been happy with the work they've done each time.

Im wondering if there is a better way to get in touch with this autoshop. Ive called and left messages a couple times about getting my vehicle in for service and havent been able to speak to anyone or had any of my messages returned.

Didnt want to put a bad review on here because of that but it would be nice to be able to speak to someone at least.

Brought in my truck to get some shocks I purchased to be put in. Don was very friendly and shop was very clean and organized. Pricing was very reasonable. Would definitely use this shop for future work!

I had my first meeting with Don this week regarding which I think was some engine troubles. I expected the job to last for at least 2 hours and I was very surprised to find that it was fixed in a quarter of the time that I had anticipated. With his expertise, I was given an explanation for the repair after he pin-pointed the cause of the trouble. On top of that, he had a very reasonable invoice on the repair that I was very much satisfied with. With his integrity, I know I can trust Don because of his honesty. No doubt I will entrust him to handle any unwanted future trouble of my cars. Thank you Don.

Going to 41st Auto for last 2 years and Mr. Don is absolutely genuine and open about the issues and fixes. He is fixing what is needed and price is also good from customer perspective. Definitely would recommend this place.

I discovered Don through a random internet search since my regular mechanic took an average of a week to do an oil change, then made up a few issues and tried to make me pay triple to quadruple on the original quote. Don takes appointments. Sadly he is so well liked and known he books months ahead.

Don's shop is spotless, the work is done while you wait (there is a small juice/coffee bar located in the waiting room), and Don will only charge you for the work agreed upon. I use him for my regular oil changes (Honda Civic 04, Highlander 08,944 84, Mustang 07), car inspections for new purchases, and major work like ball joints, head gaskets, etc.

Don has been the only mechanic who will tell me, and I'm quoting here, "I can do it, but if you go there they will do it cheaper than what I would charge you". That's how I know I found gold.

He is always helpful and friendly, gives great advice, and will even recommend other trusted partners if he can help you get better service or a better price. He truly cares about the customer. I would recommend 41st Auto without question. A trustworthy mechanic!

The Owner, Don, treated me very well!
It's difficult for single women to find an auto mechanic shop that we can really trust.
For many years I took my autos for repairs to "Auto Check", near Golden Acre Garden Ctr, NE.
I thought I could trust them, even tho they charged me full $ price for every little repair, & would Not give me a ride to the bus stop.
But, I saw them giving $ deals, & bending over backwards for their male buddies!
And they proved I could Not trust them when I had my fairly New Toyota Corolla in there, in the freezing winter about 5 yrs ago.
They charged me over $1,000. & never fixed my car properly at all!
As soon as I would pick up the Toyota, it would break down again within a day & I'd have to have it towed into their shop, again & again, & they'd charge $ me each time, & never admit that it was their fault!
I think they finally told me that they didn't want to work on my car anymore. All this after they soaked me $, & never fixed my car at all!
I took my Toyota to a dealership, who fixed it in a short time, for way less $ money, & it's never broken down since!
So, if you're a single female, with No husband, to talk to the guys at "Auto Check", & stand up for you, BEWARE!
They took $ advantage $ of me, & I was in a very difficult $ financial position, with low $ income!
I paid $ everything they billed me for immediately each time, so don't think I owe them any $ money.
I trusted them for many, many years, & they betrayed me!

I won't go anywhere else, unless if Don recommends a place for me. Fantastic mechanic. Tells you exactly what's wrong and how to fix and possibly prevent an issue. No nonsense at all. Honestly surprised that someone would rate this place less than a 5/5.

Don is a gentleman. Super knowledgeable and professional. He checked out my car on few occasions and provided pieces of unbiased advice for free. Most importantly, he is honest and uses genuine factory oil change. My only go-to garage moving forward!

Someone on reddit recommended that I check this place out for car inspection. I went there and Don explained things clearly. I was made aware of the belt and leak issues. I got my belt fixed and bulbs replaced for a reasonable price and everything went swimmingly. The service took about 1.5 hours. Fast forward a few months later (yesterday night), out of nowhere my car started making a weird, deep noise. For someone who has no clue about cars, this worried me and had me clutch my pearls lol I couldn't get an appointment last night because the shop was already closed so I went this morning at about 8: 05am and Don helped me out right away. I told him what the issue was and we went outside to check my car. After turning my car on and checking underneath, he said that something is wrong with my muffler and that I could either get it replaced (~ $1500) or get it welded (~ $150). He clearly explained what needed to be done and gave me a price estimate of how much it should cost for places to repair this. He was quick to send me away and I think because there are places that specialize in stuff like this. I asked him for a place recommendation and he directed me to Minute Muffler Brake & Wheel on 32 Ave which was less than 10 minutes away. It took us no more than 10 minutes from the moment I went inside and to when I drove away. I hurried to Minute Muffler right away and I was also blown away by the service. Don provides honest suggestions and I would not hesitate to return here. They're efficient and provide wonderful customer service.

I find car stuff to be extremely intimidating. If you're like me and anything about cars and car repairs worries you, this is the place to go. Don is honest, reliable with amazing judgment skills. I can't thank this place enough.
