Furnace blower quit, and within 2 hrs tech was on site to diagnose. 13yr old unit, discussed options and decided on a replacement. Took a day to arrive, left back a few space heaters if required to keep the home comfortable. Arrived to install on scheduled & on time. 5 hrs later, (inc new humidifier) installation completed.
The tech (Aaron), was large just not in stature, but personality and information to assist with options at front end & again to go over the operation of the new furnace. Many times stopping to ask if we had questions or if he could assist further in any way.
Our experience could not have gone better, would highly recommend this company!

We had our furnace go down on Christmas Eve. I phoned A-1 and their technician Aaron gave me a call. He trouble-shot the issue with me over the phone and when this didn’t work he made a service call. Aaron was prompt, polite and walked me through the entire process. He checked all possible issues before finding the main problem (blown circuit board). The cost quoted was the price I paid and considering it was Christmas Eve, didn’t feel that it was unjust in any way.
Aaron was an excellent technician and if I have any issues in the future I will ensure that I request him.

I have dealt with A1 Heating since 2004. Today we had Justin out to replace our water heater. He was here early, did a great job, left his workspace spotless, and was a very nice and personable individual. He has certainly affirmed our belief in choosing A1 as our go to HVAC and plumbing supplier.
Our trip down repair road with A-1 continues! On Wednesday night, our furnace packed it in. Made the phone call to A-1 Thurs morning, and their serviceman, Tom, was here Thurs afternoon, to diagnose the problem and offer numerous solutions. I chose a new furnace (old one was 20 years old) and Tom was here Friday morning with his helper and a new furnace. By Friday aft warm air was flowing once more. Great work, jobsite spotless, and very pleasant to deal with. Can't stress enough - use this company for your hvac and plumbing needs. They're the best.

Have had them out a few times and have always been super direct and present me all the options. Quotes are easy, explained, and honest. This is huge because I don’t have to think about getting other opinions and can trust I’m not being oversold. Because of this, I won’t use anyone else.

I just had two furnaces installed by Brian, Conrad and Quinton. I cannot say enough good things about them. Very professional, courteous, knowledgeable and left the job site clean and tidy. I would highly recommend them for any furnace work required.

Very pleased with our install of the new furnace, from the estimate phase all the way to the install the guys at A1 were very professional and pleasant to deal with, and put in the extra effort during the install to get the job done right, with some extra metal work.

Honestly, feel like we got a bit fleeced. The price of the work required didn’t at all reflect the effort in the end and the price wasn’t adjusted accordingly. We were quoted an amount that assumed some labour hours and in the end, it was much more simple. Yes, they are specialists and have the skills but upon realizing the job didn’t require significant hours, it would have been nice to see the price reflect the work. Not sure if I’d use this company again.

Yes, they were able to fit us into their schedule quickly which was appreciated on a hectic day after initially being told it would be a 6 days (with a long weekend in between).

The main point of frustration is that we paid $1,500 dollars for someone to drive to our house, re-diagnose a problem that another company had already diagnosed and we had shared with this company, drive to a warehouse for a part that the other company had already identified was there and we had informed them of, and then swap the part which, from my understanding, was very simple (~3 - 5 min of work unplugging some chords, sliding off a part, putting another on). We were quoted an amount and agreed to it under the assumption that it would take some time to fix.

All the work was done well and they were professional so I don't have any contention there but the price for the work required (after already paying another company for a diagnosis fee) was a pretty bitter pill to swallow. For context, the other company which couldn't do the work had quoted us the same amount also under the assumption that it would take some time to complete the work.

Last night we had a problem with a leaking laundry hose bib. I had to turn off the water to the house. I called A-1 and Conroy dropped what he was doing and came over to block the hose bib. Water was turned off and repair would be done today. Michael came over and was able to repair the problem and leave the laundry area better served by his repairs. Bravo Zulu to both for their can-do approach and making a custom feeling he was important. Alex

Just had A-1 remove my old furnace and supply a new high energy efficient system. This only after a number of years of keeping the original operating as long as possible. Various options were provided as staff patiently allowed me to feel comfortable with my final decision for furnace replacement. We were disappointed that we had to wait more than 2 weeks after diagnosis to get the part, and complete the repair, but that may have been due more to the holiday season, and part delivery. Mike and Conroy were very personable and did a great job. They were clear in their explanations, professional in their communication and meticulous in the work they did in our home. Service today booked under Mike. Very good experience with this company. I was referred to them. I called and made an appointment and they laid out the service charges and ensure I understood. I had to rebook so I called back and did just that and it was not a problem. Technician showed up on time and I received a notification email and text advising me of his pending arrival and the person’s name and qualifications etc. Was on time and went right to work. My issue was with a Trane electric Clean Effects filter system. Apparently very expensive to replace/repair if needed to. I had moved in a few years ago and my home inspector did not catch that this wasn’t working, so it hasn’t worked for years. My luck was some wires were cut so rebooking those was the work required. It did not take long so labour wasn’t too much and added on the the call/assessment fee already advised to me. Tech was very knowledgeable and professional. He gave me a run down of how this system worked and what to do/look for etc. I will use them again and I highly recommend them.

I am incredibly pleased with the service. This Company stepped up and got my repairs done the same day, we were living without hot water and I have three teenagers so it wasn’t a good thing … these guys responded immediately and found a way to get down there the same day and get it fixed, the price was right in line with all the other quotes I had received but What impressed me the most was the technician who was friendly, helpful knowledgeable and professional. I would call this company again mainly because of the work he did today. Nothing but good to say about this company

Very efficient and extremely knowledgeable. He explained in detail what was being done and offered valuable suggestions for improvements. He is very easy to work with and understand.

Furnace was not working. Called them mid morning and Brad was here late afternoon. Found the problem very quickly & repaired it right away. Very professional! Highly recommend!

Finally found a company that employ people that understand boiler systems. Diagnosis of the problem and the repair was pretty quick. Nice to deal with someone that knows what they're doing.

Is there any way to give them 10 stars. I have never before dealt with a service provider who goes so far out of their way to ensure that the client is completely 100% satisfied. Have used A-1 a few times. Each time they have proven their knowledge and desire to please the client.

I especially appreciated that the company sends message reminders, a short bio on the the person coming to my home, along with a message letting me know that the tech is on their way, via text. These guys were fantastic from start to finish! They provided excellent sales advice based on issues I was having and tailored the solution to fit my needs and fix existing issues. The installers were accommodating and even started a little later on day 2 when my teenager was still asleep. They checked with me when deciding how to run lines and where to place a return and made sure that the final solution was what I wanted. I've now got one of the best complete HVAC solutions I've seen and I didn't know what I was missing. The system is unbelievable - quiet, efficient and the temperature remains constant. I love the thermostat with the app too!

Got a quote on A/C. Brad was knowledgeable and did an excellent job of explaining how things will work and what to expect. The install date was set quickly and the quote was reasonable.

Chris came twice and always on time. He is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to plumbing and gave me a couple tips which was very much appreciated. I had Chris install 4 new sets of bathroom faucets and they look awesome. There was no mess afterwards and he discarded the old fixtures for me. Chris also replaced an outside tap which was incredibly squeaky and noisy. We now have a wonderful quarter turn outside faucet and no squeaks!

Jason was very professional today and did a great job with my A/C. He explained everything well about the maintenance he did on my A/C. Would use this company again!

Jason arrived on time to perform a routine maintenance service on both the furnace and our A/C unit. Jason was polite and explained the service he performed and gave us some tips on a nuisance noise in our cold air return.

Tim was very friendly and professional when he came after hours to repair our plugged sewer. He fixed the issue fairly quickly and was very good to deal with.

Our technician was efficient, honest and professional. Before replacing our humidifier, he provided us with options for repair. He did a thorough check of our system, explained how it worked and how to troubleshoot common issues. He did a thorough inspection of our heating system and made recommendations for future needs. Absolutely amazing experience with A-1. Our AC broke down back in June. The company was fully booked for weeks, but the owner Chris volunteered to come out on an evening to see what’s wrong. He didn’t even charge after hour fees. Jason was very professional and wonderful, both times he came over to repair the AC. He was COVID-conscious, was careful with proper social distancing, and allowed me to work at home with minimal interruptions during the repair. We weren’t too lucky with the parts being back ordered, but the company really helped us through the whole process. And our AC works now!

Tim was professional, courteous and dedicated to finishing a very difficult shower install. He went out of his way, and I would highly recommend him.
