Incredible service from start to finish, the room was wonderful and the breakfast was stunning. Incredible hotel experience!

Absolutely LOVED our stay here!

TLDR: Rooms are very modern, warm, cozy and comfortable; daily delivered breakfast to your room and it's delicious! The best service at this quaint and cute bed & breakfast!

Loved our room for all the amenities:
**fireplace is perfect for those cold nights
**patio with quiet seating area
**separated bathroom/sink from shower/bath
**unique shower/jacuzzi tub within the room
**welcome treats at check-in
**robes and towels are plush and soft, excellent quality & very comfortable
**bedding is so comfortable, and pillows are so fluffy!
**bathroom extras (ie q-tips, cotton balls) without the plastic waste (love!)
**3 mirrors in the room
**mini fridge and iron & board
**drinks for purchase with baggies of ice at each level
**coming back to the inn and our room after a long day of activities was just what we needed to relax

Now let's talk about the gourmet breakfast! Delivered between 8: 15-9: 30am each morning to your room with orange juice and your choice of coffee/tea in a french press (how fancy).

The 1st morning, we had an elevated eggs benedict on ciabatta bread, poached egg, bacon, and topped with a delicious mushroom sauce (and plenty of mushrooms). This was so good; I've never had such a unique take on an eggs benedict. We also had a side of fruit, and a blueberry and butterscotch chip scone with butter. Both my partner and I agreed that it was the BEST scone we've ever had, and he does not like scones (they're normally so dry), but this scone was so moist; I could've eaten a few more.

The 2nd morning, we had a potato topped with cheese, bacon and a sunny-side up egg. The portions are a perfect size. Another side of fruit accompanied the meal and just the right amount of oatmeal. We left every morning feeling full and ready to start the day.

Since we were here in the winter and doing some hiking, the inn's hot tub was especially nice to relax our muscles, warm up and enjoy the view and winter air.

They even do weddings here! (I'm a wedding planner and love the space, can totally see an event here). It would be so beautiful in both summer AND winter with the view of the mountains and warm rustic venue.

The team here is super accommodating and helpful. Breakfast was always served on time, and they were so kind to any of our requests.

Absolutely loved our stay here and would totally come back! THANK YOU Bear and Bison Inn for taking care of us!

What a wonderful inn. I would recommend to anybody anywhere. The Breakfast was the best food I had on my trip. The lodge like atmosphere fits in with the town and the view of the 3 sisters mountain from our room was breath taking.

Lonny and Brooke were a pleasure to deal with and so very helpful. Wow what a wedding! Honestly, where do I begin… Lonny and Brooke were outstanding. They exceeds any expectations we had and their communication, professionalism and expertise made the whole process so easy. The venue was quaint and everyone was so impressed with the natural beauty of the Inn. Highly recommend doing the Tapas style wedding dinner- the food was so delicious and everyone was so impressed. Everything was amazing and we had the best wedding ever.

My partner and I stayed here for a weekend getaway and we loved it. The people are nice, the food was amazing, and I can't say enough about the views.

Quick getaway for Valentine’s Day. Absolutely loved our room with spectacular views and jacuzzi tub. Complimentary breakfast was phenomenal. Brook and Lonny were so welcoming. I highly recommend this hidden gem.

I just recently had my wedding through the inn! (off site ceremony) they offer amazing packages! All of the staff were super accommodating and amazing to deal with. I feel i wasn't their typical bride as they were always wanting to help/ check in on me some way or another but i went super low-key (i wore sneakers under my dress). And didn't have much to ask of them. (beside my husbands coffee addiction) they were there and ready for any requests! The views were beautiful, rooms were cozy. An amazing experience all around. Would definitely recommend!

We decided to do a last minute trip out to canmore and we booked at this little gem. Amazing service, absolutely shocked by the breakfast we got delivered to our room it was delicious. We will definitely be back.

My husband and I eloped at the Bear and Bison on September 7,2022. It was a perfect experience. We would not change a thing. The Inn is beautiful and very clean, the scenery is gorgeous, and the owners/staff are truly awesome people. Solid 5 star review from us, and we highly recommend this place to everyone!

We drove down from Calgary to get a little r&r and some peace and quiet. We arrived around 9pm which is after they normally close the front desk at 6pm. Someone from Inn called is in advance and explained the process when you are arriving late and confirmed when we would like our breakfast brought to our room in the morning but had our keys and everything already prepared and left out for us when we arrived. The room was big and we loved that the shower/bath was actually apart of the bedroom…. When is the last time you had a bubble bath and watched a movie haha…. So cool! Bed was super comfy, and we had a peaceful sleep. Now, let’s talk about this breakfast! I love food, and this breakfast was perfect! It had a little bit of everything… the fried egg creation had sweet potatoes, salsa, beans and a tortilla at the bottom. There was also a granola and yogurt side but most of the granola was replaced with all different kind of nuts and topped with a strawberry - delicious! Then, for the end, a fresh fruit bowl along with fresh French press coffee and orange juice. If we had ordered this anywhere else, it would have easily cost around $60.00, so factoring that in, this was place extremely affordable and exactly what we needed for a night off from the kids! We would definitely recommend this place!

Had an incredible time here December 2017. The food was out of this world amazing. And the room (Honeymoon Suite, in this case) was lovely. My bride and I checked out and went to a much more expensive hotel up in Banff; we were very disappointed. Returned the next day and spent a few more days at the B&B! There's a restaurant close by that is very good. Banff is only a 30min drive away. My wife and I play to go again for our 10th anniversary. One of the best places I've ever stayed at.

Awesome food, awesome service, comfy beds, fair prices, you wont regret your experience there.

My husband and I eloped at A Bear and Bison Inn and it was a great experience! We had absolutely no one with us and they provided the witnesses and our officiant and photographer. It was perfect to just show up and have everything all ready, which is exactly what we wanted. The team at the Inn were so wonderful, and the food.omg the food, so so good. We'll definitely be back to celebrate the upcoming years of being husband and wife.

We had our wedding at Bear and Bison a couple of weeks ago. First of all, the venue itself is stunning: the Gazebo, the Three sisters mountain backdrop, the convenience of going to so many breathtaking locations at canmore for wedding photos, the rooms came with moutain backdrop to host your guests for the wedding and exceptional hospitality, the list goes on and on and if you decided to have your wedding at Canmore, this is THE PLACE TO BOOK! We booked the venue in May and planned this wedding within 3 months. Unbelievable! It was an amazing wedding and we couldn't have done it without Lonny, Eugenie, Brooke and their team. They are absolutely THE PRO in wedding planning and they turn all our ideas and visions into reality. Their flexibility and able to solve any issues occured on the special day enables us to actually have fun and enjoy our special day. Lonny's food is amazing! And the fact that he is willing to work with a vegan groom and bride to create a delicious PLANT-BASED menu is never heard of! We could not be more thankful to the whole bear and bison crew! Choosing them as our wedding venue is the best decision we made for the wedding. We look forward to coming back for our anniversary!

We got married in June 2021 during covid and I could not have asked for a more perfect venue. Covid or not this is where you want to go! They literally do everything! Lonny and Eugenie at a Bear and Bison were the best people to work with. Lonny was outstanding through the whole planning process. It is very hard to find a venue that basically does absolutely everything for you, and this place does! Their itinerary is easy to work through and honestly plans your wedding for you. They really have their weddings planned right down to the last detail. The venue and Inn is beautiful with so much character, the rooms are absolutely perfect. The breakfast is the best breakfast we have ever had. The wedding meal was out of this world good. We chose their silver service tapas and I could rave about how good the food was for days. It has been almost 4 weeks since the wedding and our guests are still raving about the inn and how good the food was. I for see people talking about this wedding for a while:)
Planning a wedding during covid was not easy, but Lonny made it easy for us, he helped us with everything and was super flexible with all the changing plans and restrictions. He even came up with some very creative options on how we could still have a wedding and abide by restrictions.
Not only does the inn do all the set up and take down, but they also have an extremely perfect wedding day coordinator. Eugenie was our coordinator from the day we checked in until the very last minute of the night. She was the calm energy that we needed to know we had nothing to worry about for our wedding day. She did our decorating exactly how I envisioned, she checked on us throughout the wedding morning to make sure everything was going well and to see if we needed anything. There was a lot of on and off rain the morning of our wedding and Eugenie and Lonny were both supportive in setting up for an inside ceremony and outside, being prepared for the weather right up until the last 15 minutes to make our final decision. Luckily the weather turned and we were able to have our outdoor ceremony, everything was set up perfectly. The ceremony space was beautifully decorated but Eugenie. The whole wedding was absolutely perfect and we truly could not have asked for a better day.
The only complaint I have was with the supplied marriage commissioner Cheryl Cooper. She was not prepared enough and made multiple mistakes during our ceremony, including messing up my Father "giving me away" at the beginning of the ceremony. My suggestion is that you either find your own commissioner and do not go with the inn supplied one, or make sure to have phone calls or in person meetings with the commissioner to make sure everything goes the way you envision it for your ceremony. The inn does not do a ceremony rehearsal; because of this you need to have some type of rehearsal with the commissioner to make sure they know exactly what you want from your ceremony. We thought based on the fact that she has done many weddings our email correspondence would be sufficient however it was not.

A Bear and Bison Inn was a dream come true. Thank you Lonny and Eugenie and we hope to see you again for an anniversary or weekend get away!

I stayed at the Inn for a three-day artist residency and it was AMAZING. If I could rate 6 stars out of 5, I would. The ambiance is lovely, the grounds are gorgeous, the view of the Three Sisters is stunning. Breakfast every day was gourmet and delicious. Newlyweds who'd been married in the outdoor gazebo area the day before were checking out just before me and were raving about their experience as well. I loved the hot tub, in-room fireplace and soaker tub, and the close proximity to the Canmore town centre and the wonderful Iron Goat restaurant. It was exactly the perfect getaway I needed to get the creative juices flowing. Honestly, my best Canmore hotel experience ever. I can't wait to go back. GO!

My daughter and son in law were married at the Inn. They went above and beyond to make everything perfect for them and safe for all of us, no easy feat in a pandemic. Lovely rooms, excellent food, phenomenal views, and very caring and attentive staff.

Stayed in the honeymoon suite for a night, we spent the extra for an early and late check in, plus chocolate strawberries, truffles and a charcuterie board.it was all worth it! It was the perfect weekend getaway.

We've stayed at A Bear & Bison 4 or 5 times now. It's always excellent. We will be back.
The rooms are private and fantastic to spend the day in. You can sit in a jacuzzi tub eating chocolate covered strawberries while looking at the Three Sisters and have gas fireplace going so it's toasty warm when you get out.
The food is always fantastic and the staff are professional and courteous.
Hiking trails are right out the door. There is a pub, liquor store and little strip mall close by. There are some amazing restaurants in Canmore too. I recommend Tapas for a nice evening with your other half.

Honest review, not bashing at all, great views, not as secluded as you think it’s going to be when you look at the pictures. The breakfast was absolutely amazing. The room I stayed in was small and a little outdated. It seemed like there wasn’t a lot of effort out into it. For the high price of the room you have to pay for water? That was the dealbreaker for me personally. Definitely not worth the price imo with all of the other options that are available.
***Th soaps and creams weren’t refilled and clearly used by other guests, kind of gross honestly*** I definitely won’t be staying there again

I was looking for a lovely place for my wife and I to take a one night break from our campervan. I do a lot of research before booking a place. After reading reviews of the best rated places around it was clear to me that A Bear & Bison was that the perfect one, so I booked two nights instead. My wife was delighted by the lovely arrangements and loved everything; the room, the view, the hot tub, and the food. The service could not be more welcoming. You can tell everyone is treated well and happy to be there.
We look forward to coming back!

Our stay was awesome! Breakfast was great and our room was perfect. We had a great view from our window and our stay could not have been better!

We had been waiting to stay here for a long time and it surpassed every expectation! The atmosphere is so comfortable, it feels like home. From Lonnie (the owner), to Meaghan (office manager) to Chef, it is clear that a piece of their heart is in every transaction. I even learned a new technique for banana bread!
Even a selection of the surrounding trees has been planted as a memorandum for the couples that were married there. We had no idea that the floods had removed pretty much all out front, almost up to their foundation and Lonnie fed the workers breakfast as they helped to recreate what had been lost. I can't imagine the stress and the feeling of community that resulted.
The beds are comfortable, the towels are soft, the ambiance is romantic and the view.outstanding!

What a lovely little getaway spot in Canmore! Megan at the front desk was so helpful and friendly. The facilities were clean and cozy.

I booked a staycation for my guy’s birthday last month and was blown away by the service provided by Megan. She was apologetic and applied a discount when there was a mix-up with my room and helped me personalize the experience for my guy. The fireplace, jacuzzi, and mountain view balcony were amazing and the in-room three course breaky was fantastic. Definitely recommend!

We were booked for a wedding in July that unfortunately had to be cancelled because of Covid. From the time of booking and leading up to Covid closures, working with Lonny was great. Lonny had met with us a couple times to show us the place and give us ideas for set up, decorations, food etc. Through Lonny's years of hosting weddings, he was able to suggest little details to make the day more special that we never would have thought of. Planning the menu with Lonny was easy and he was very accommodating to the many, many allergies and dietary restrictions our guests had, even while doing a cocktail style menu. Despite the fact that we had to cancel, I have no doubt that Lonny would have helped to put together the wedding of our dreams and would have made the whole process easy.

Once Covid closures occurred, Lonny was very accommodating of our situation. He allowed us to delay payments so we could see what would happen before cancelling. He was very responsive and helpful. And when we did decide to cancel, Lonny was generous and allowed us to convert our deposit into a gift certificate for us to use as a honeymoon stay since we are now eloping and don't need a venue. Even though we aren't getting married at the Bear and Bison anymore, Lonny is currently working with us to plan little extras to make the honeymoon more special and we look forward to staying with the Bear and Bison.

Overall, working with Lonny and the Bear and Bison has been a great experience and we would recommend the Bear and Bison for any couples looking for an intimate wedding venue. Lonny is great to work with and will no doubt make the day extra special.

We had a very small socially distanced elopement at Bear and Bison this past weekend after cancelling the wedding we planned for later this year. We didn’t have big plans for the elopement, didn’t bring any decorations at all, didn’t have a song planned to walk down the isle, and Lonnie and Jen completely stepped up and did an amazing job making it still feel like a wedding, while maintaining all social distancing and following all the regulations. We loved our room and the breakfasts were consistently fantastic. We are so appreciative of the help we received, even after hours. These are crazy times but if anyone is looking for a relaxing weekend away for somewhere for a small elopement I would very much recommend Bear & Bison. We will be back for sure.

We had our wedding here at the beginning of January and it was amazing the staff went above and beyond to help us have the perfect weekend. The food is unbelievable it's so tasty!

One of my most favourite breakfasts I've ever had; three-course and so delicious! Really comfortable stay, beautiful views, and the local soap is a really nice contribution. Highly endorsed!

Based on the cost, as well as other reviews, my expectations were high. The building is pretty cool, nice decor and amazing views. The room needs upgrades tho, especially the carpet. Looks dirty. The breakfast was pretty good, but not as good as all reviews make it out to be. Overall the stay was ok, but did not meet my expectations.

What a gem! In a sea of options it’s hard to always find one that sets itself apart and is memorable and affordable but A Bear & Bison Canadian Country Inn is the Inn you’ve been dreaming of! Decor is Canadian cabin rustic charm at its best. Rooms are clean and kept up with a warm inviting atmosphere as soon as you step in as though it was made just for your mountain adventure! We had Riom 2 with princess bed frame and draping and was super romantic alongside in room jacuzzi. Rooms are perfect size leaving nothing more to be desired except perhaps a mini fridge! But they work around this with complimentary use of theirs and ice is available freely. Great balcony high ceilings lots of light. Management greeted us with respect and trust to conduct our affairs and use facilities wisely without typical hotel restrictions or locked up amenities or ultimatums. This alone was so appreciated. That the inn is nice and close to a great pub and easy to get into town made it even better! They provide stellar breakfast that they serve in the hotel or to your room! Delicious! Healthy, tasty and satisfying. Late checkout for nominal fee was a breeze and helped to fit our day excursions. We were so happy with experience and hope you get to enjoy this place soon. It’s a cut above! Will def be back!
