My 14 month old Lenovo had a catastrophic failure and the ALaptop staff replaced the motherboard in record time, and found a recall notice so I didn't have to pay for something that could have been very costly. The expediency, knowledge, willingness to discuss and quality of work exceeded my expectations and was superior to many of the other laptop service groups that I have had dealings with in the past. Strong recommend.

Fixing more than computers, Mike serviced my printer. After realizing it required only replacement of the toner cartridges, he cleaned the inner works, which hadn't been touched since we bought it eight years ago.

Mike replaced the cartridges with high-quality remanufactured ones.

Great place to take your laptop for repairs!
My power jack had broken off its seat so I looked around online for a repair place. Their website lists all the services they provide so no need to call around and ask what they do. Very informative and I loved that. Walked in with my laptop and explained the problem. Got 2 quotes within minutes and was told I’d receive a call to confirm which repair they’d do. They called a couple hours later and said they could just epoxy the part back into place as it was in good working order still. This fix saved me $100 over an entire part replacement.

As a graduate student within the social sciences it was useful to learn what features would be more or less valuable should I opt out of repairing, and instead purchase a new or refurbished computer that will last, such as a business or gaming computer.

Great service, came in looking to upgrade the display panel on my laptop with a better one since the Canadian model never came with the option for the higher res display. Swapped it in a day, initially it was a bit crooked but they fixed it to be perfectly aligned at no extra cost. Couldn't be happier with my new display.

Unfortunately they were not able to fix my laptop for a reasonable price due to the cost of parts nowadays. But that is not Laptop Repair Shoppe's fault. Joel was very helpful, honest, polite, and professional. I will definitely keep them in mind for the future.

I have used the laptop shop 3 times in 2 years.first time to repair a board for a machine but had no success.

Just wanted to send a thank you note regarding the ASUS refurbished laptop I just purchased from A Laptop Shoppe.   The hardware specs that I had demanded were implemented as requested and the Windows 10 O/S was properly installed and up-to-date.

A few months ago, we cancelled our cable service preferring to stream on Roku and online apps.   This was a leap of faith to change the way we normally watch news and entertainment. Now we no longer have to follow a schedule. We watch what we want when we want.

Movies, podcasts, news articles were no trouble at all but trying to stream live events and sports was miserable. Keep in mind that not all streaming services are available on Roku so I had to stream some things through my laptop.

Thought it was the internet bandwidth at first. Then I upgraded my laptop memory which made it faster but still didn't correct the live streaming problem.

The last straw was when I tried to record some screencasting. Clearly my laptop was not configured for this kind of video management.

So I checked in with Joel to see if a refurbished power laptop might be available. We reasoned through the hardware specs and I was fortunate that Laptop Shoppe had an ASUS with the hardware specs I needed.

It did not disappoint! The ASUS does everything I need it to do and more. It live streams effortlessly - it records videos - and has horsepower to spare. The 1TB disk drive will take me a very long time to fill up.

I went in with a budget and they were really understanding. Joanne communicated very well how much it would cost and walked me through all my options.

The people at A Laptop Repair Shoppe are fast, friendly, and helpful. I had a broken shift key on my laptop. They ordered a new keyboard (about $80). When it arrived a couple of days later, they called and I scheduled an appointment for the keyboard to be installed. Immediately after the installation, we discovered a minor manufacturing flaw was causing problems with the "A" key. Because the only key I actually needed to replace was the shift key, the shop removed that key from the new keyboard, installed it into my old keyboard, and installed my old keyboard back onto my laptop. What did they charge me? Nothing! I won't forget this. A Laptop Repair Shoppe is my new go-to source for computer repairs!

This company is also proficient at all software repair, rather than reinstalling windows as most other companies do.

Warranty repair. All the big box stores were saying 4-6 weeks for a battery replacement, requiring my laptop to be shipped across the country. Brought it here where laptop stayed and parts shipped to them. Done in a week. Extremely satisfied amd worry free. Thank you for the excellent service!

Never come back, i bring my laptop to there, they asking about 102.00 Dollars for check. I am ok with that.later they said no part for fix, have to change mainboard around 600 (refurbish) plus labor total 900 more expensive than my lap top prize 800.i have to paid 102 dollars for notthing.

Called in here with my laptop coming apart at the sides, they fixed it super quick with new screws and didn't even charge me anything which I was super grateful for. So friendly and great service. Will come here with any other laptop problems.

The humans at A Laptop Repair Shop are WONDERFUL, great people. They were friendly, professional, and highly knowledgeable. I took in my laptop which had fallen on the floor and unfortunately was no longer working. The staff took it to the back, made some adjustments, and returned the laptop to me in working condition in under 5 minutes. Not to mention-they did not charge me! This is unheard of nowadays; I believe any other laptop shop would have, at bare minimum, charged me a consulting fee. Instead, I was met with patience (as they kindly described to me, someone not so tech-savvy, what the issues were), generosity, and respect. I could not recommend this place more-I will be referring all of my friends, family, acquaintances, ANYONE, to A Laptop Repair Shop.

Went into the Laptop Repair Shoppe with a laptop that had spilt liquid damage from several days earlier. Was received promptly and professionally by Joan (after an earlier chat with owner Mike Chartrand over the phone). Post diagnostics, Joan called me up and explained in great detail the options for repair. Treated me as if I were a corporate customer. Everything was very reasonable. Mike had previously mentioned that another option might be to look at some lease back laptops. He came up with an used HP Probook MT41 option with 8GB Memory and 250 GB SSD at very reasonable price that will meet all my personal home use needs. I have plenty of other laptop computing power for work related needs. And they offered a very reasonable trade-in allowance on my ACER that had a Nvidia GPU and a larger screen. Laptop Repair Shoppe installed and Activated my MS Office for me, and even gave me a DP to HDMI connector. And I am set. Posting this review as I think that very few businesses today truly walk the talk. Their service, promptness, value and professionalism wowed me. I am positive that any business or individual consumer client will be thrilled by Mike and his team. In my experience, there is nothing better than cultivating great business and service relationships in one's own backyard instead of dealing with people and businesses that you never meet with.ps: Laptop Repair Shoppe's proposed repair option on my liquids damaged Acer was also very reasonable, but I liked the idea of exchanging it for a more robust HP machine (even if it is older, and with smaller screen than the 17" Acer) as it will be a better companion for personal travel, when it's best not to risk carrying workplace laptops. Mike, thank you for presenting a great solution. I have been dealing with A Laptop Shoppe and recommending them for over 10 years now.
I recently brought in an older Dell laptop so I could have a Linux OS installed. They determined that I had a battery/motherboard issue on this laptop (which IMO wasnt worth repairing) and it became apparent that I would need to purchase a another laptop. So I bought a refurbished HP Elitebook from them (at a great price) and had them install Linux Mint.
Not only did they finish the installation a day early but when I came in to pay they charged me a much lower price than I was expecting!
Exceeding expectations is what they do.
