Absolutely wonderful shelter, amazing conditions and care for the pets and they also have an emergency pet food program.

10/10, definitely recommend checking them out and donating if possible

My husband an I adopted a dog from AARCS in 2022. As a first time animal adopter, I had a lot of questions on how the process worked. AARCS made adoption such a breeze - the process was very clear from the start, and everything proceeded very swiftly. I am so thankful to AARCS for making what could have been a very stressful situation, very easy. I have and will continue to recommend AARCS to anyone looking to adopt an animal.

Awesome place! They took 2 out of the 3 strays we could catch from my neighbour's step so they can live a proper life!

We have adopted two cats from AARCS North Haven, I have seen first hand how the staff and volunteers care for the Cats and Dogs in their care. If all people cared and nurtured the animals like AARCS does, the world would be a better place! Thank you AARCS North Haven for our forever family members.

Me and my partner adopted our cat Scarlett yesterday from Aarcs and we couldn’t be more pleased. Not only is she the perfect cat for us the people working at Aarcs are incredible. They are so welcoming and friendly. We are recommending all of our friends to go to Aarcs to adopt a pet.

It's an amazing thing that the staff here are doing. They are always friendly and you can really feel that they are passionate about the animals in their care. Please, if you are considering adding a pet to your family, take a look at some of the beautiful animals that are here waiting for you to pick them. Even though we all know, they are the ones who pick us

Our story is - this is the first time we're adopting a cat and we reached out to various adoption centers. But Aarcs and its staff are just incredible. They won us over with their easy, yet detailed application process and polite staff. Arin was incredible, answered all our questions about my adoptive pet and was patient with us throughout the process. Now, about our newest member of our family- He is an orange tabby and we are blessed to have him. I would encourage everyone to adopt from Aarcs, they have a large, clean facility with happy and healthy animals. They've a staff that care for them and you would be very happy to adopt your newest family member from AARCS.

Very friendly staff, who will do what it takes to provide the best for animals, whether in care or to someone’s pet, who is accessing pet food bank. Thank you for your service?

We got our first cat, Chepstow (right), here a few months ago and went again to get him a little sister, Brimley (left), a few weeks ago. Love this place, you can tell they care a lot about their animals and everyone is always super helpful!

I had the most amazing experience at AARCS North Haven adopting my wonderful cat, Paws McCartney aka Sulley. The staff were amazing. They went way past the call of duty to help me in every way. I have been in rescue for 40+ years and this was by far the most welcoming, helpful place to visit and pick up my amazing boy. They made 3 follow-up checks as well.
I have said for a longtime that AARCS is the new humane society for Edmonton. I can't wait until they can add dog adoptions in Edmonton. Kudos team wonderful!

We have now rescued three dogs from AARCS in our family and we love them all. They're all momma dogs who came from reserves with their puppies and now will never have to have another litter. We also volunteer for AARCS and highly recommend adopting from this rescue!

We adopted out kitty a few days ago, and it was the best decision ever! The adoption process was incredibly smooth and easy from the get-go, and all the staff were super friendly and informative. It was hard to come home with just ONE cat haha

So glad we decided to adopt from AARCS! From the very first email to checking out after picking out our cat the staff were very helpful and friendly. The adoption process was incredibly smooth and I never felt rushed to make a choice on which cat to adopt. Facilities were clean and all the animals looked very well cared for. We love our new kitty so much?

Friendly, knowledgeable staff and a "No Rush" experience let us take time to find the pet that was a great fit. Clean and well lit facilities made for a comfortable place for us, as well as the temporary residents.

Loved the AARCs facility, it was very clean and organized. The staff were friendly and helpful, approaching us to ask if we had any questions but also giving us plenty of room to interact with the cats on our own and get a feel for them. You can apply online afterwards at home or right there in the building on an iPad, it was very straight forward. We applied on site and were able to take the cat we chose home the next day.

Our new family member is settling in well and we couldn't be happier!

I am in love with the new AARCS building here in Edmonton. They have started in Calgary and I have never been but heard it is as nice. You walk in to see all the cat rooms filled with new cages allowing them to go throw doors to each cage. They have a nice selection of goods for sale like sweaters, masks, calenders, mugs and many more especially magnets that so many love. And they have every color and size of sweater that many while love as they are a super nice material and you are supporting the animals as well that way too. You can donate there and bring in used kennels and many other dog or cat things just ask the girls up front and they will let you know. They had a bunch of dog kennels in the back were the have a great size and also access to the other kennel by door if there is no other dog or a play mate. They take sanitization extremely seriously and that was great to see. And everyone is willing and ready to help from the staff whom are extremely knowledgeable in all things animals and if not they will find you the help, as well as the volunteers who go through many different classes of training to be able to help out. Some are fosters and can help with many first time dog owners questions and I noticed that they will keep in contact via email.
Check it out and take some time getting to know the animals and if you can maybe take one home to a furever home or look at many of the available volunteer opportunities. I couldn't give this place any thing other then five stars and dare someone to challenge that. You just won't find friendlier people ready to help and support your journey of adoption or looking into volunteering. They will follow through with all you need and help in every corner of every process.
I hope this helps you all and hopefully helps you get into the thought of a furever home. Also I do the monthly to help and you receive zero pressure to donate more or again. They are just thankful for every penny.
Good luck and looking forward to ready everyone's comments on their time with AARCS.

WHERE IS RINGO? Why wont Calgary AARCS answer me? Your rescue has a huge blemish on them because of how several people like me have been handled! You need to do something about it! You only have one star because I can't comment without giving you a rating.

The animal you were in-trusted with. Ringo was born in my home with Hydrocephalus! I spent thousands on him. I can’t think about him without crying! It shouldn’t take this much to get your attention that you aren’t watching out for the animals you have been entrusted to place in new homes! To add insult to injury I had to pay you $200 for your to give Ringo away with out a second thought! I also gave you 30 lb bag of food soft food and two years of medication! When I left him with you I cried for months!

The response from your people was we sent an email and the new owners haven’t responded! We can’t do anything about it! So in other words your people have done the very least to insure the animals you place are OK! It does not matter if the animal needed extra care! No one there really cares and no one really tried to make sure Ringo was OK!

Has anyone tried to call these people! Checked that they know they need to have Ringo checked and seen by a “Vet Specialist in Neurology” I tried to have your staff forward my contact info so that I could answer any questions the new owners may have had about Ringo! Help treat any problems that came up. Warn them of issues that may occur because of the steroid Ringo was on! I doubt that my request was ever honoured.

If you want to be called a “rescue” then as far as I am concerned you need to Prove It. From what I have experienced your about the money! You want to make people feel good about helping! But when it comes down to it all you care about is the money!

I want to know what happened to Ringo and I want to talk to the people who got him! I also want a picture of Ringo with his new family if he is still alive! It would be a miracle considering how careless you and your rescue have handled Ringo’s adoption if you can call it that!

WHAT HAPPENED TO RINGO?
