Abalon Foundation Repairs

We recently bought an older 1940's home and discovered foundation issues when moving in (that somehow the inspection missed). We had 3 big cracks. I researched and looked into a few companies and decided on Abalon based on their reputation among different Landlord groups I follow. They are very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. I booked an estimate and they were right on time and I could tell they knew exactly what to do. This was one of the biggest costs we have had so I am glad to have used a company like this.

The work started the day they said it would and the workers were very professional, they were careful when digging things up, explained the process and what they were doing when I went to check things out, and you couldn't even tell anyone was there when they left. You also can't even tell there were any issues with the foundation to start worth, and I feel a lot more confident about my home and the many years we hope to spend here. Definitely recommend this company.

Abalon responded to an urgent need I had to remediate water seepage damage in the basement after the June rain/wind event. They looked at the situation, provided their recommendations and a quotation and performed the work which included the installation of a sump pump and weeping tile along the perimeter of two walls in a VERY timely fashion. All of Abalon's personnel were very courteous and friendly and really knew there stuff. Ricky and his crew deserve a special "shout out" for performed their job admirably in getting things done in a timely quality manner. Would not hesitate to use again. Thank You.

Experienced excessive concrete patio frost heaves on a walkout basement. Original construction did not include weeping tile. Abalon remedied by installing outside foundation weeping tile, inhouse 6’ deep sump pump in a fully finished area, and replacing concrete patio. No access from rear of property. 4 man crew, 2 week project, on schedule, and on quotation. Juan provided a professional crew who also did a good job of cleanup despite spring snow weather. This work was done Apr 2021 and survived the first frosty winter with only very minor concrete cracks. No heaving. Sump pump ran all winter. Thank you for the good job.

Our experience with this company was not positive. Their estimate cost was higher than any other company. They were almost an hour late for our appointment with no phone call to let us know if they were even going to show up that day. We did receive a quote but no one has ever bothered to do any follow ups of any kind. Other companies were way more personable.

Abalon did a great job repairing 3 cracks in my foundation. One crack had developed due to extreme water erosion under my back door step, they demolished the old concrete step, filled the eroded area in after repairing the crack, and installed a beautiful pressured treated wood step. They accidentally cut a Telus cable while digging but contacted me about it right away.

Contact them to have a inspection on the potential concerns about my house's foundation. The estimator gives me a lot great advice and make me get a clear understanding of the potential concerns I had. Although the concerns are not related to them, but they let me know what industry should I contact to, if there is an chance next time, I will definitely working with them. Recommend of their professionalism and knowledgeable estimator, and their quick response.

Had my stump posts replaced with steel posts and properly sized concrete footings in my hundred year old home's dugout basement. The crew was super polite, quiet, clean and tidy. They had to hand-bomb dirt from the basement to outside in +30*c weather, and they did a great job of it- the extra dirt removed from on top of the old poured concrete floor gave us an extra couple of inches of headroom which makes moving around down there less daunting. The dugout basement looks great, and I finally feel like the house is supported properly.
Would recommend Abalon to others, and would utilize them again in any future projects.

The foundation work was completed to an acceptable standard, but they damaged the power feed to my garage. Making repairs to the feed has been a difficult process. They proposed making repairs that were not to code which I declined. I have not heard from them since. Several messages have gone unanswered.

Sub-par work on our driveway. The sunk system works well, however the finishing on the driveway is EXTREMELY unacceptable. There is discoloration all around the pavement (see first picture) and uneven surface. Due to this, the driveway will eventually have to be stained.

I first called about the uneven surface and Abalon came to patch it. But, the patches created great discoloration (see the second photo). Next, I called about a long crack and the owner picked up. He responded saying that he was too busy from working till midnight and would come look ASAP.

He never showed up. This review can be changed if someone from Abalon can fix this mess - PROPERLY.

I was really happy with the service from Abalon. I noticed a crack on the side of the house and filled out the web form on a weekend. I was quickly contacted on Monday and had an appointment on Wednesday. The estimator showed up right on time and was very friendly and knowledgeable. Happily the crack wasn't anything to worry about as the mudding had been applied extra thick to the exterior and it was only that and not the foundation. Thanks so much for the peace of mind!

Horrible service! We had them work on our foundation, they started off by "repairing" 6ft, by digging outside in, they left a mess in the yard and a couple months later the foundation flooded - so we called them as we had warranty. They came to fix the 6ft they initially "repaired" then they said another 4ft was needed to be fixed (just to get more money probably), and 2 WEEKS later the same area they "fixed" cracked and the foundation flooded again. Thanks for nothing.

We are so, so glad we went with Abalon. Almost went with a company that told us we needed to rip up our entire basement for 20K. Abalon fixed our foundation cracks for a fraction of the cost and it solved the problem. They came fast and did good work. My expectations were exceeded.

Greatly appreciate the estimate and glad we got a second because what another company said would cost $16,000 Abalon said wasn't necessary. Thank you!
