This company has been working on a home across the street from me. I highly commend them for their hard work ethic and I especially appreciate that they clean the street of any mess they made before they leave every single day. In watching them do repairs to my neighbour’s home I would certainly highly recommend them and would certainly use their services should the need arise. Great job guys!

This company is doing work next door; work that is shaking my house; lights almost fell off table and computer screen was shaking. I explained my concerns that my house/foundation would be damaged. Was told no - but they did not feel shaking. Asked guys working who was in charge - said Kevin, who is owner and he'd be on site soon. Asked if they could have Kevin speak with me. They said yes. Either they didn't ask or Kevin could not be bothered to address concerns about effects of his crew's work. When I called the company, I spoke to Nancy - who said they'd move the truck away to help - they moved it across the street ie 20 feet away so obviously house still shaking. When I called back to say house was still shaking she was very rude, talked over me, complained I had not called back the afternoon before and then hung up on me. And ignored when I called back. Charming behaviour. If this is how company operates and treats people (even potential customers) well that is very telling. Shows you they could care less and have zero concern or respect for people.

The owner doesn't take care of his equipment, He lies to his employees and throws them into situations that are unsafe. He lies consistently too make himself look better, The man has 0 Credibility and will lie to his own grandmother too make a dollar,

My issue with the company is I was driving a company vehicle when I was employed there, The tire popped on me and lost control and hit a vehicle, He claimed to have paid for it cash so his insurance didn't get raised, after a few years I got calls from the people saying they didn't get reimbursed and they were taking me to court. There was a lawyer appointed to me and they handled the situation, Long story short Kevin lost in court and they raised his insurance either way, When I asked him why he did that too me I confronted Kevin about it he said I'm delusional, well who got the last laugh buddy.

If you read the whole comment to the end I've worked in foundation repair 3-4 years and worst company by far based solely upon who runs it, Than have the audacity to blame the employees give your head a shake.

Call shield Foundation repair best in the city for all your foundation repair needs. They actually have a good crew.

The crew was nice and answered any questions I had. They explained what they were doing and shared some insights about the potential causes for the foundation issues I had and small tips for preventative measures based on their experiences. They left the extra soil neatly against the foundation instead of taking it away so that when the soil settles, there is still a nice grade. They left everything tidy and neat when they finished the job and they also helped push my already leaning fence upright before they filled the soil back up, which was extra effort that they didn’t have to put in. Thank you for the job well done and the small extra efforts that left me more than satisfied with the service.

Highly recommend. Would use Abarent again. Abarent fixed a few holes in our foundation that would leak water into our basement whenever there was heavy rain or during spring melt. Crew was friendly and professional. Took care to protect our landscaping and did a nice job of cleaning up. Only reason not 5 stars is that it took around 2 weeks from putting down my deposit to hear back on when the job would happen. Once teh job was scheduled it got done pretty quickly.

The basement and foundation repair services of Abarent Construction Edmonton were effective, efficient and timely in all aspects in addressing the tiny, hairline crack, the first crack in 26 years due to the bizarre freezing and thawing that occurred this year, along a foundation wall. Jim and Lannie, the two gentlemen that performed the work explained what they observed and assured us that the two day work plan was well in hand. They were polite, hardworking and thorough in their inspection and remediation as they also confirmed the weeping tile was in good condition. Thorough and keen eyesight and experience to do the job right. Abarent Construction also provides a 30 year home owner transferable warranty - can’t beat that level of confidence! Kevin Bradell, President, Abarent Construction is on top of things from initial communications to scheduling the work. Fantastic service!

If I could provide a negative stars rating, I would. Abarent Construction was the absolute worst business I have ever hired for anything. Their sales pitch was very convincing. However, the solution they recommended for my leaking foundation and their workmanship were very bad.

Hiring them led to a year long saga of me trying to get them to come back and fix their work so that I could live in my house again without having to breath the volatile chemical compounds they improperly applied to my foundation. After threatening a lawsuit, they finally re-did their work which stopped the chemical vapours from poisoning my house. The sad part is that their initial solution of weeping tile on one side of the house did not work and the basement still leaks.

I just wanted to say thanks to Kevin and his team for an awesome job. The crew that came to do the work were very polite and friendly. The cleaned up the area when they were done and it was like they were never here! I would definitely recommend this company to anyone who has to deal with a wet basement!

Abarent repaired my basement which was cracking and leaking in 2007. Since then the foundation has been stable and there are no signs of leakage. Very responsive and professional company

Kevin had good control over this project from start to finish. His staff appeared to respect his leadership. I was impressed with the quality of the work, including the clean-up after the fact. I would highly recommend this company for similar work!

I had todd Ivanochko come to my house which is on an acreage about 40 mins from Edmonton to look at my foundation. He showed up on time and was extremely professional which is hard to find in most companies. He gave me great advice and knowledge of how to protect my foundation. I will highly recommend this company and Todd to anyone I know. Thanks Todd

I was so pleased with the work done by Abarent Construction. They were able to fit me into their schedule which was so appreciated as I had a basement flood just before relatives were due to arrive for a family wedding. The crew were all great and they did a wonderful clean up job! Couldn’t be more pleased with the experience and would highly recommend this company!

First time home buyers - Abarent made a potentially overwhelming situation for us very easy.

Crack in the foundation discovered in inspection:
Abarent was available within 48 hours for a complete inspection of the foundation. Everything explained openly and transparently.

Home owners insurance company withheld groundwater and sewage backup insurance until crack was fixed:
Abarent fit us in within 8 days of possession.

Foundation repaired without ANY concerns:
Everything was explained openly and transparently; all questions were answered thoroughly by the crew.

Above and beyond expectations:
Without solicitation, the crew left the stone and rock to be returned to the original location of the crack laid out in order of how we should replace it - incredibly thoughtful!

I had a 7 foot vertical crack in my foundation that was leaking water. I got 3 different quotes for the exact same work and these guys gave the most competitive quote. I was planning on doing the work later in the summer; however, they called me and said they were doing another job in the area, and gave me a discount if ours could be done at the same time. They did all the work in 2 days and cleaned everything up nicely. Once the work was done, a supervisor came to my house to inspect it and ensure I was satisfied. I had no concerns at all. They did a great job and I would recommend to anyone.

Todd from Abarent construction was great to work with. He provided a detailed quote and was patient with all our questions during a stressful time.

Following a rapid snow melt resulting in water in a basement room, contacted Abarent Construction Ltd.who came and assessed the exterior problem and four days later began excavation and repair. The work crew (s) were efficient and polite and very mindful of any potential damage to property. We were also pleased to see that the company employed hard-working aboriginal and immigrant workers.

I had a fantastic experience with Abarent. We had out quote and project complete before another company came through with just the quote. Kevin took the time to explain the process in detail and the price was fair comparing with 2 other companies. I would recommend!

We were happy with the detailed explanation that Abarent gave us before the foundation wall repair job started and their competitive quote. They were able to come out a lot earlier than we expected, completed the job in a very reasonable amount of time and then cleaned up nicely upon completion.

Not reliable company.
I had request a quote in June, the individual who came in to do the appraisal was in and out of my house within 5 minutes! (wasted my entire afternoon to wait for him as he cannot give me a specific time frame, I had to take a day off without pay for this). He asked some minor questions and told me that I will received the quote within a week. Until today, I still did NOT receive any quote even after several calls and emails. I found this very disrespectful of my time and very unprofessional. I am glad that I did not do business with this company.

UPDATE: recently there has been some issues and I am not very impressed with their follow up or contract guarantee. Something as simple as topping up the soil where it was below grade immediately after the work they did, they will not do. Even though it states that will be taken care of in the contract.

Abarent is an amazing company to work with. Very professional & their rates are competitive and fair. They do the job quickly which was important to me so that residents could get on with their daily routine quickly.even when they were there - they were very professional and easy to work with. In terms of payment they made it easy for me to work around my other bills but have them paid in a timely manner. I would recommend abarent to anyone with ANY issues or concerns regarding their residential /or commercial foundation repair.

Choosing Aberant over Abalon (or a contractor) was the biggest mistake we have made for our home. Their system of using grout (rather than horizontal studs) is inappropriate for residential homes. Not only is it an awkward process (the crew literally holds a juggling hose on their collective shoulders while it spills everywhere and they try to hook it over a narrow gap at the top) - but in our case the studs they used to hold the plywood in place literally exploded. The entire house shook. We now have cracks around doorways throughout the house. The house has shifted (we excavated part of the outside) and two windows are stuck shut. Moreover, they poured too much grout, which caused the studs and plywood to expand outward. We had to pay a contractor $3000 to reinstall an entire new system of studs because the Aberant studs were all distended and uneven, making it impossible to drywall. The grout and plywood sounds impressive, but now that we understand the system, we realize that it’s unnecessary. What really matters is the new studs that are installed and attached to the joists, which is something all contractors will do (the only difference is that Aberant uses plywood/grout rather than horizontal studs) - the new studs (not the grout) are what keeps the foundation in place. They excavated the outside clay, which they left on plywood boards for two weeks. A significant portion of the grass in our backyard was ruined and we have to pay to replace it. It is also apparent that they don’t know how to create a clay cap because it looks really bad. They also failed to properly reinstall our vinyl fence gate (part of the area excavated) even though it should have been an easy fix. That was another cost. The floor of the basement is covered with with grout. Finally - and perhaps most frustrating - they were rude and aggressive at the end of the process. The crew and managers were nice and very friendly at first. But when I pointed out that the basement was a mess, the owner’s son (crew manager) just gave me a blank stare and said that any fix would take two days full time work. He didn’t even refuse to fix it up - just stared at me in silence. He said the same when I pointed out that the clay cap was level with the exterior windows well and that water would poor into the house. The project cost $38,000 (for 50 feet of work) and we paid out another $4700 in repairs. I wish we had gone with a contractor. The grouting system just doesn’t work well for a house. A contractor would also be more accountable for their work. We thought that having an internal engineer was an asset. But it was a terrible conflict of interest. We hired an independent structural engineer after the work was done and they provided a report that the system was poorly designed.
