A couple of weeks back we called a pest control company to get a bed bug situation checked out and they told us it would cost around $1500. We obviously couldn’t afford that as we’re all students living together, so we called another company (Abell) and Atif came through from a previous reference. He told us that it wasn’t a bed bug situation, and that they were just ground beetles, and vacuuming would resolve the situation. He definitely helped us from being scammed!

Atif was incredibly professional and helpful in getting rid of our bed bugs. Communication with him was excellent and he came out to Banff at the time he scheduled with us. It is now two weeks since our first treatment and we noticed a remarkable difference. After our second treatment we are yet to see a bug. He very nicely followed up with too to see how we are doing and email replies were incredibly prompt. I was such a mess when I found out we had bed bugs but now I finally have peace of mind again. I'll definitely request Atif if we ever have to use Abell again.

We have used Abell pest control at our resident for bedbugs inspection and there tech Mr Atif Sharif honestly did inspection and told there are only couple of summer bugs and not bedbugs. Before we called a company not sure but i think Ecopest and the tech said we have bedbugs and it would cost us $1200 for a 3 bedroom house. Abell Tech saved my $1200 by giving me realistic inspection report. I strongly recommend to call only Abell as there techs are very professional and honest.

I contacted them Saturday night and they responded first thing Monday morning. It was going to be a next day service but Paul, the route manager, called day of and arrived within an hour and did the treatment. He was friendly, knowledgeable and very reassuring that our mouse problem would be taken care of. I have no doubt it will and my kids can sleep better now knowing that.

When we called our call was returned within 15 minutes and our appointment was set up for the next day. He called when he was on his way AND was on time! Atif was the gentleman who came. He was very kind and sensitive to our situation. Atif wore both booties and a mask during his visit which was very respectful. He took the time to address all my concerns and explain what he was doing as well as educated me on a few things. Atif was a great mix of professional and personable and we very happy with the service that he provided.

I called my local Abell office, they came out right away and took care of my mouse problem. Fast, friendly and professional. And they explained why I got the problem in the first place so I (hopefully) won't have to call them back.

When I called for the appointment I told them they would need a suit to spray the out of control Hornets under my deck - they showed up without a suit - so rescheduled an appointment to come with a suit - did not show up or call - I called again - yes they were working on a suit - would follow up by 1 pm the day of the appointment - did follow up no suit yet but would have one within 2 days at the most - never heard from them again?

Very disappointed. Called the 1-800 number on a Sunday. Woman who called back was very nice but unable to locate a tech in the area. Transferred me to the Calgary office, told me to leave a message and someone would return my call Tuesday. I left a message on Tuesday with them again looking for a call back. Got a one-ring hang up. It’s now Friday. I called another company on Tuesday and less than 24 hours had the wasp problem dealt with

Came out for a wasp problem. The tech was knowledgeable. Apparently a second entrance was present. Called them back and a second tech came out and finished it off. Both were curtious and did a great job. The second call out was covered under warranty too.

I used to have terrible problems with mice, and had tried numerous pest control companies with very poor results. Delighted to have found Shannon, at Abell. She is the best! No more mice problems.
PS: She is also awesome with wasps!

I highly recommend Shannon and Abell Pest Control! Living on the edge of the city, I have had various unwelcome guests on my property. For 5 years I tried to rid my interlocking bricks of ants. I spent a lot of time and money using various consumer products with very disappointing results. Last Spring, voles took over my property and again I tried to resolve the problem on my own, without success. I called Abell and Shannon was sent out. Shannon's expertise and knowledge has been exceptional as she genuinely listened to me and got the job done!

Thanks Shawn Mahoney for the great service today! My wife discovered yellow jackets flying around our basement and it turned out we had a small hive in our wall. I called the office and Sara had Shawn call me right away and they had the hive take out within the hour. I’m so impressed thanks for the great service Sara and Shawn!

Terrible. We have been annual customers, but when the mice seemed to have gone, they stopped coming and so the mice came in again. Initially, the rep didn't even find the spots that the land lord ended up identifying and fixing. Now mice are back because no one has even been here to check in on us. They relied on us to book appointments which are supposed to be regularly scheduled visits. Shannon only came last minute when she could squeeze us in because she was in the area and if that last minute text didn't work, she failed to follow up and reschedule. What kind of company takes your money and then doesn't do the thing? I called three times this week looking to make an appointment and was told I would receive a call back 3 times and nothing. The woman on the phone was not interested in my feedback. I was given an email to write to and no response. I see a lot of 5 star ratings on here which might be for one-time solutions, but I am thoroughly disappointed with their so-called "service. "

I panicked when our house was on the market for sale and a wasp nest was discovered with lots of activity. I quickly called Abell to see if they could get rid of them asap! Not only did they come out at my urgent request, the technician did a great job getting rid of them with one visit. He was on time, friendly, and put my mind at ease from the minute he arrived. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again (but hope I don't have to!).

I purchased the Seasonal Vole program from Abell which is a little more expensive but it was guaranteed for the season to get rid of the voles plus they visit your home several times to check on the traps.
Our neighborhood is riddled with voles as we live near a field. I had around 30 holes in one 10 foot section along my concrete walk and they were tearing up my grass. Shannon quickly assessed the situation and within a few weeks, I was no longer worried about voles.
Shannon is amazing, a true professional that always has a smile. I would highly reccommend Abell if you need pest control in Calgary.

Brendan C.from Abell was the technician who helped me out with my mice infestation. I just want to be as clear as possible here: he was fantastic! From start to finish he never let me down, and consistently made me feel like everything was going to be alright. Because he knew how mice and any of their byproducts made me dry-heave, he went the extra-mile and vacc'd up the mess in several places, which I'm pretty sure isn't in their job description. This is just one example of his can-do attitude, professionalism, and work ethic.
On top of this, he was cool & composed, a wonderful character trait to possess when in the business of being in strangers houses. Definitely made me feel at ease and secure.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Abell (and Brendan!) in a heartbeat. If you're having critter problems in Calgary (and beyond!) this is THE place to call. Thanks guys! ️

I called Abell to schedule an appointment to have my yard sprayed for wasps. I had advised the representative on the call that there were NO nests, the representative advised the areas the wasps are around would be sprayed and along perimeter of the yard. I was quoted $125-$175 for these services. I was okay with this as I am willing to pay the cost for spray to be able to enjoy my yard and booked them to come on May 22nd. Abell showed up, was in my yard for maybe 15 minutes, told me they couldn’t see a nest and that they would not spray or do anything else. They then asked for payment of $99.75. I explained this was not the service I was quoted to receive. I do not understand why I am being charged almost $100 when I didn’t receive any services I made the appointment for, absolutely no action was taken. I was not told someone would only be coming to my yard for 15 minutes to tell me there were no nests (which I already knew there were no nests and had told Abell on the call when I booked the appointment for spray). I explained this to the representative at my home requesting payment of $99.75, she advised that I must have been mislead by the new girl in the office who took the call. I called the Calgary office requesting an explanation of this. They have since voided the charge. Initially 1 star, have changed to 3 for making things right.

Great service from our Route Manager, Ray. Goes to great lengths to ensure that we are happy. Also prices are much more reasonable than other pest control companies in Calgary. Very happy with Abell & Ray!
