Academy Hearing Centres

My purchase of hearing aids was a great experience. I did not realize how much I was missing until I put on the hearing aids. Music is a new experience for me I can hear all the sounds now. The staff at Academy Hearing Centre were top notch and I would recommend them to anyone.

Kathy and Megan are always more than happy to help when and if issues arise. They are available to answer any questions that I have had and both are very thorough and excellent at what they do. I wouldn’t hesitate referring my friends and family to Academy Hearing. Keep up being awesome ladies!

We’ve been going to Acadamy Hearing for a number of years. A friend/chosen Mom needed hearing aids. The care and concern of helping her has been amazing. Kathy and Jeanette have always been so kind and helpful. And now with Meagan on board a great addition. Thank you all for your past and future care. My husband and I have both also had visits.
I couldn’t ask for a more caring place for looking after my friend.

BEWARE: This office (Academy Hearing Centres) does NOT have an “Audiologist”on staff, yet they mislead you in thinking that they do.
My Mom’s doctor (s) specifically said she needs to see an Audiologist and when she called this office to book a hearing test, she was told that “they do the exact same thing as an Audiologist”. So, trusting what they said, she booked an appointment with them. Big mistake.
Once she got there, she found out that they only have 1 hearing aid technician on staff who only really cares about selling you hearing aids and that’s it. NO “Audiologist” on staff. There is a huge academic difference between an Audiologist and a hearing aid technician.
There are far more reputable hearing clinics in Calgary and my Mom has found an incredible, real Audiologist, at a reputable office, that has been absolutely excellent with her. Shame on you, Academy Hearing, for misleading and taking advantage of seniors.

UPDATE: As I've been a lifelong career healthcare executive with Alberta Health Services, your arrogant and uneducated "response from owner" has compelled me to leave yet another comment as you blatantly continue to mislead for the sake of optics. Trust me, I'm acutely aware of the academic differences between healthcare professionals as I work with this daily at AHS. I can tell you and promise you that the "diagnostic hearing test", as you call it, was not the same when performed by the Audiologist on my Mom, compared to the one done by your hearing aid practitioner/technician. In fact, more clinical tests were done on my Mom, besides a basic hearing test, that provided a far more thorough set of results and explanation. Furthermore, I'd suggest that you be very careful posting comments that your hearing aid practitioner/technician "administers the same diagnostic test as an Audiologist". You should know better. Only a Medical Doctor or an Audiologist can "diagnose" hearing loss or give a "diagnostic test". I work with several MD's and this sort of thing is not taken lightly. A hearing aid practitioner/technician is NOT able to "diagnose" a hearing loss (or able to preform a "diagnostic test") according to Alberta Health Services. I've researched this as these resources are available to me daily.
It is also amusing that you give a link to a single post, buried deep into your blog on your website, with a general explanation about the differences between an Audiologist and a hearing aid practitioner/technician and have the audacity to say that it is "publicly outlined" to justify your words and actions. My general and very real concern is your office and staff misleading seniors (or any age group for that matter) into thinking you are more qualified and capable of more, than what you academically and legally are. Alberta Health Services heavily frowns on misrepresentation.

I've been dealing with Academy hearing centre for 20 years. The last 10 years have been fantastic. They call you to check up. Make sure your instruments are working fine. And help is only a call away. Great service and great people to work with. I would reccomend them to anybody that needs hearing aids.

I went to Academy Hearing more than 5 years ago when I discovered I needed hearing aids. The service I received was professional, friendly and very helpful. Was back there yesterday for new Aids and am pleased to say nothing has changed. Kathy is wonderful and I have no hesitation in recommending both her and Academy Hearing to a anyone who needs hearing aids.

I have a serious hearing loss in the higher frequencies due to concussions from Artillery cannon firing and Academy Hearing has provided me with the latest and best hearing aids that have given me access to understanding speech that I would otherwise not hear.
