We used the hotels parking service to the airport for our international trip instead of park in jet this time. We will never make this mistake again. On arrival I called and spoke to the front desk at 2: 45pm. They said they would send a shuttle right away. At 3: 08pm no shuttle had arrived and my young daughter was cold so I called and asked if they would be coming soon or if I should wait inside. She said they would be there at 3: 20pm we went to walk inside and saw the shuttle pass by. I called again saying I just called and walked away from the stop to go inside and just saw the shuttle. Front desk again said it wasn’t their shuttle and she guaranteed I saw someone else. She said again it would arrive at 320pm. At 328pm I called AGAIN as no shuttle arrived. She said it was 3 minutes away. Finally it arrived at 331pm. The driver confirmed he was there 15 minutes ago when I saw him pass and no one had communicated to him we were waiting. I will never use this hotel or service again due to the terrible customer service and 45minutes waiting in the cold due to poor communication
Poor internet connections. Could not book our seats of our flights online. We got a pretty good deal with room and parking. Next time we'll stick with the Clique Hotel.
The hotel was very close to the airport, and they offer complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport. The hotel was very clean and lots of space in the room. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There is an Italian restaurant (Pacini) connected to the hotel which is very convenient. The food was delicious! They also have complimentary breakfast but we left very early for our flight so I can’t comment on that part. The shuttle driver was very friendly and organized!
It was blowing cold air in our room all night. Found nowhere to turn it off. Awful sleep. We were exhausted from traveling. Arrived very late and left very early. At least WestJet paid for it because of a cancelled flight. Wouldn't go back.
We found this to be a very average hotel. Everything about it felt small. Rooms are small, beds are small/low, etc. It has some wear and tear. It’s a huge hotel, so very busy with minimal parking. Would try somewhere else next time.
Stayed 2 times first time asked for a quiet room had 2 queen size bed which were comfortable and a microwave. Room was spacious and delicious Italian restaurant Panini next door. Very close to airport shuttle runs every 1/2 hour. Second time had a king size bed no microwave and t.v. Kept dropping off almost unwatchable. Rooftop hot tubs 2 of them were great to use no shade there or showers. We would stay here again when in Calgary
Came here to offer makeup services to my bride. I like that it has a washroom in the lobby to wrap myself up before seeing my client. The room also has decent lights to do makeup and a mirror and table for us to use. Parking is free for us visitors. All good
A little out of town for Calgary. However, staff very helpful, get the shuttle bus to the airport for the main busses into town. Wouldn't recommend the roof top jacuzzi, looked a little dirty when we checked it out.
The rooms are quite nice once you're inside. However, the service was not very friendly at all, it wasn't mean, but it definitely was not friendly and you often felt like an inconvenience.
The staff are also not flexible in my experience, however that may have just been my experience.
If you could find something similarly priced, I would probably elect to stay elsewhere. However, I would stay here again because the rooms are quite nice.
Acclaim by Clique touts being elegant and luxurious. It is all fake bougie and is showing its wear and tear from the lobby to the rooms.
It's somewhere a "sophisticated" 23 year old brings their date to try and impress them.
The meeting area behind the lobby features enough space for 30+ people however the pile of broken and mismatched furniture will allow you to gather with a maximum of 8 which is unfortunate because your rooms are so small, you wouldn't want to gather there.
Our group had 6 of the platinum queen rooms, 2 had fridges, one had a microwave none had both which I've come to expect as standard in a room.
The beds were a severe disappointment. After a long day of travel and getting checked in, I flopped onto one of the beds and lamented to my wife about how soft it was. She lay next to me and said I was over reacting. We swapped sides and the difference was so staggering I looked for a remote thinking it might be one of those adjustable beds. No just a busted up bed and the other was no better.
The room also included missing knobs on drawers and a wobbly chair but probably my favorite find was the house coat. I put it on after my shower and noticed a tickling on my neck. Pulled out a matted mess of black hair from the collar. Then my wife noticed the stain on the collar around the robe. We're guessing the previous user either dripped yogurt or egg yokes while eating their breakfast or maybe got some fancy pearl jewelry during their stay, either way it wasn't washed between uses.
Parking is busy through out the day and night. Returning at the end of the day it's sometimes hard to find a spot even though they have tons of room.
Friendly staff. Room and bathroom were clean. They offer a free shuttle to and from the airport which was really nice and convenient. Their Italian restaurant was pretty good. Had dinner and breakfast there.
After driving from Manitoba, Acclaim Hotel was the place to sleep. Right next to the airport, close to the main st; where everything is located. My check in and out was easy and fast, no hassle. Plenty of parking. The restaurant in the hotel is the only one there, I haven’t had a good dinner meal since 5 days ago after leaving NYC. Their food from Pacini was to die for ;so delicious and tasty; price wasn’t bad at all. My room was cold with dark wall paint, dark carpets, classic painting on the wall, had regular outlets, the bathroom was the right size, after my shower I had a well rested night. My tv had basic channels with a dvd player for late movies, able to borrow dvds from the lobby. My floor has so many rooms, I felt like I was in a Stephen King movie. Will go back in the future
This was my first time staying at Acclaim and it will also be my last. During previous trips to Calgary, I stayed at Clique and Applause and was very pleased with both of those hotels. However, Acclaim is nothing like them.
During our 2-night stay, my boyfriend and I were given a pet friendly room on the first floor, as we brought our dog with us. Our room was close to the far end of the hall. At the very end of the hall, there is a heavy door with a safety bar that leads to the stairs and the restaurant, Pacini. As a result, our sleep was periodically interrupted by the sound of that safety bar being pushed and the door opening and closing. We could also hear footsteps running down the hallway, and people moving in and out of their rooms.
Not having a fridge in our "platinum king room" was a major surprise and inconvenience. I did not even think to look at the kind of amenities this room had when I booked it because I thought a mini fridge was pretty standard. We had brought a cooler and ice packs on our trip, thinking we could put the ice packs in our freezer overnight.
As for the pros, there were a few: our room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the water in the shower was hot.
A great hotel in the vicinity of the Calgary airport with a nice Pacini restaurant in it's premises. They provide 24 hr complimentary airport pickup drop service. There are many car parking spaces within their property too. Must mention about the hot tub on their terrace which overlooks the runway, a brilliant sight to see the planes landing and taking off when you relax in the hot tub
I booked my room for the wrong night, but the lady at the front counter managed to find me a room on a super busy weekend. Otherwise, the room was okay. The quality of the building is not $200+ a night, in my opinion. The restaurant attached was good. The airport shuttle drivers were nice.
The room that we stayed in was amazing. The service was very great, encompassed by extremely friendly staff. We had one small issue that was resolved immediately, and we were even given complimentary drinks and breakfast at the restaurant. The shuttle driver was very friendly and made our trip a little more special.
Pros: great location for airport and zoo - pet friendly for all sizes - very nice and very clean
Cons: price slightly higher than it should be - no openable windows - no in room mini fridge - no in room dresser - room said it was two queen beds when it was clearly two double beds - Italian restaurant attached is decent. Tries to be fancier than it is for sure.
Terrible, will enter room without permission, even with the do not disturb door hanger. The room wasn't clean when I got there. The shuttle driver was pushy, not pleasant, and a somewhat reckless driver. The front staff have trouble answering questions about the city and don't seem like they want to be there. The restaurant is alright but I wouldn't want to eat there more than once. Had other guests be noisy throughout the night with the front desk not fixing it for hours. Do not recommend.
I had to spend a night here due to missing a connecting flight and found it a great place.
The hotel is only 3 to 5 min.from the Calgary airport which makes it convenient.
The room I had featured one bed and was very comfortable. There was a large-screen TV, desk, small table with coffee maker as well as a lounging chair. The room was very clean and fresh and the bathroom was well stocked with all that you need. The bed was extremely comfortable with massive pillows and the ability to control heating/AC in the room.
Some highlights of the hotel included the roof-top terrace with two hottubs - and they are available until midnight which is great!
There were probably other amenities which I did not use as I was only there one night.
The only "issue" I had was the restaurant in the hotel. Due to dietary restrictions, I was literally only able to order the garden salad as it was the only thing on the menu "vegan" friendly! I think there was one food dish also but for many reasons I stayed away from it - however this is the restaurant and not the hotel side.
In all, I enjoyed my stay and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout the stay I had and I would definitely recommend this place for short or even a few night stay - especially if you want to be close to the airport.
We had an all day offsite meeting at the hotel. The reservation process was easy and quick. The room was comfortable and the food was very good. I would definitely come back for the next meeting.
I missed my connecting flight and booked a last minute stay at this hotel. The service was incredible and the shuttle service was excellent. I absolutely recommend this hotel! I loved the service so much, it put me in a much better mood! 5 stars!
