ACE Coffee Roasters - Garneau

Great food (gravlax is tasty) but the coffee has been hit and miss from my experience. See attached photo of my $6.19 Latte. Considering its location next to a university filled with students eager for a part time job it can't be that hard to find or train a barista who can do the job right. This Latte tastes as bad as it looks.

No gluten free food options unfortunately, but I’ll keep going back for the coffee! Always love supporting Edmonton-based businesses, and this locally roasted coffee fits the bill. The vibes are excellent for a study or coffee date. I love how the macchiato I got came on a saucer with the roaster’s logo! Short walk from UofA campus, especially the medical side. It’s the perfect distance of being conveniently accessible from the medical facilities, but distant enough from work that you feel like you’re getting a break. Will be going back for sure!

Love this place for its minimalist design. They killed my breakfast sandwich with their microwave until it was inedible. I don’t get it, just grill it for a few mins. No rush bro. The coffee was great and dudes were nice. Coming from vancouver and New York I thought this place was legit coffee shop and worth the visit. Get your food elsewhere though.

This place is boujee. The U of A fam mostly crowd this place studying or vibing before class.

I'm not sure why the staff wouldn't let me have my americano in a cup that was bigger than the size I ordered. I have a medical issue that makes me shake, and of coarse, I spilled my cup as it was filled right to the top. I need that extra space. The customer service rep said, "I don't make the rules. " A minor inconvenience but coffee spilled on my leg wasn't a nice experience. A paper cup with a little extra space, and I was "denied! " LOL

Will go again.

Seems like a cool little place. Nice decor inside and nice and quiet. Latte was very good but on the small size. Ham breakfast sandwich was outstanding. Excellent service. Thanks!

Came in on the weekend, coffee was mint service was amazing and the sandwich was 10/10 will be back!

I had ace coffee a few days ago and I keep thinking of it. It’s sooooo good literally the best coffee I ever had and the customer service was amazing! It would be nice to have more seating but you can enjoy this coffee on the go as much as you’d enjoy it in the cafe.

I like the coffee here. It’s going to be expensive because it’s a place that really focuses on the coffee. If you want a coffee experience, come here, but if you simply want a caffeine kick, maybe not your cup of joe.

I like their donuts, it’s the crispy on the outside. I I’ve tried the custard, strawberry shortcake and Nutella. I am still biased to the strawberry shortcake. The cream and crispy outside of the donut goes really well together.

Boyfriend and I got donuts and they were so soft and fresh! The coffees were good, but on the small side (especially for the price). Parking was also terrible as there is major construction going on. Overall, the coffee was good, but expensive; donuts were 10/10, & location/parking was difficult.

Maddie and Sam are lovely baristas and provided a great vibe to hang out and study:) good drinks and the breakfast was awesome

Incredible service. Just moved to Edmonton and was glad to find this gem on my first day. The staff are very welcoming and the coffee and food are delicious. Worth going out of your way for!

Go here and get a breakfast sando IMMEDIATLEY. The house made croissant (crispy, flakey, buttery crust) with the tomato, avo, goat cheese and whatever else is where it's at! Had it twice now and can confirm, it was JUST as good the second time. Enjoy and be sure to savor it friends:)

Had such a great experience at this cafe. Top-notch coffee, beautiful interior design, and kind and friendly customer service. I wasn't expecting to be served, but the barista was so kind and attentive to my needs! Great staff and will be back again. The donuts are also delicious! Custard bombolini is made with real vanilla bean.

ACE is my spot for studying and meeting friends.it's in a great spot, off the main road so it's not loud but in a great area for bumping into people.the staff are lovely and super friendly - plus, the coffee is to die for, they put pickled cucumber on smoked salmon bagels (trust me it's SO good), and the donuts are freakishly amazing.seriously just go here it's the best

Wow. I have loved visiting Ace Coffee in the Whyte Ave area and was completely delighted to find out about this Garneau location. It is so cute - as to be expected. The staff is engaged and delightful - true tens!

I came with an appetite last Saturday morning and had heard amazing things about their breakfast bagel sandwich. Sadly they were all out of their bagels - AND I AM SO GLAD! I decided to go with the OG breakfast sandwich, as Ace designed it to be. It comes on a croissant! I am not sure I will ever be able to trust the person that recommended exchanging a croissant for a bagel!

The sandwich was INCREDIBLE. The croissant was perfect, fresh veggies, avocado and that sauce.yum. (Bad photo, Great sandwich) Yep, I will be returning as my Saturdays deserves that breakfast sandwich over and over again!

Really good coffee and honestly some of the best donuts in Edmonton. Bold claim I know but they don't try and do anything fancy they are just simple and very well done!

Breakfast sandwich was also fantastic you'll think it's expensive at first but the Bacon breakfast sandwich was MASSIVE. I added Avocado and they seasoned the Avocado fan which is a really nice attention to detail.

Great local business. Only thing I wished was that they were open just a little bit earlier for my morning coffee pre-work. Good vibes.great service. Quality beverages and pastries (pastries in association with locally owned bakery too. Definitely worth a stop in

ACE is definitely one of Edmonton’s biggest roaster! They have great donuts and breakfast sandwich to go along in the morning! Great staff!

Consistently great coffee from ACE. I'm looking forward to when they can open at full capacity and provide indoor seating for customers, this location has a lot of potential.

The chocolate donut was dry and did not taste like chocolate. It also taste burnt. The Nutella donut was similarly dry, and the dough was tasteless. Really disappointed.

It's reduced in scope from the old Leva but the coffee is still first rate and the service is authentically friendly and helpful.

Pros:
- The coffee is absolutely great
- Atmosphere is pleasant

Cons:
- The cups are downsized. I asked for a medium cup, but what I got is usually called small in other coffeeshops
- Brewed coffee is not always available

Excellent piping hot Americano. Coconut donut was very original in texture and flavour. Staff attentive and friendly.

As a barista I usually banter with and ask questions about the coffee when I go to a Roastery. Both times I've been here the people at the till had next to no knowledge about the coffee and couldn't tell me the origins even after looking it up. The last time I was there I got a snippy reply asking "if I've had their coffee before? " rather than providing any sort of descripton to help me choose between their vaguely labeled coffee.

Other than that, the coffee is alright—I appreciate the variety they bring to the city's coffee scene by focusing on blends, but they honestly don't offer anything spectacular.

There seem to be some great minds at ACE. Paired up with a friendly staff & a few sleek venues — yes multiple — you’ve got a winning ticket here.

We ordered some pre-ground espresso from them and unfortunately it was much too coarse for a couple different machines which lead to under extraction and an overall poor taste.

Great coffee! It should be though considering I paid $5.50 for an extremely small latte. Even more expensive than Starbucks which I find surprising.
The shop was undergoing renovations and looked really nice from what I could see. The location was great and the customer service was, ok.

They only use take out cups (even though patio is open) and then provide no recycling options for plastics… also don’t provide a bathroom. Unsure why people accept such unsustainable cafes these days

Over the pass month I purchased a Rocket Espresso machine, Rocket grinder with accessories.
Caffe tech & Ace coffee staff were amazing to deal with and great service.
