Airdrie Eyecare Centre

I have been a patient here for over 30 years. I recently purchased glasses online as I wanted the same ones I previously had which they don't carry. Before ordering online, I asked if they could order new lenses for my old frames and they couldn't. I got my new glasses and I think the PD they reluctantly gave me before was incorrect. I stopped in and asked if I could pay to have my PD measured again. The receptionist told me no, they will only do that while purchasing glasses. I explained why I bought elsewhere and she went to speak to her manager. She came back and offered they could tell me what was wrong with my new glasses for $70, but that was all they could do for me. I explained that I have bought glasses here in the past, including 2 pairs for my daughter a year ago, and I would just like my PD checked so I know if I ordered my glasses incorrectly. Sadly, patient care only extends to those purchasing eyewear. While I LOVE Dr. Forrest, this experience means I will find a new Optometrist for my family's needs. Which is unfortunate as I have more complex eye issues and Dr. Forrest has been amazing at ensuring I am seen regularly by specialists.
An eye exam costs $144 (much more than other places) and does not include PD measurement. Be warned that you'll only be an important customer to them if you purchase glasses. A lifetime of being a patient.they don't care about that.

Edit: The Owner response telling me about PD measurements is insulting, way to address a concern! I'm well aware of what PD is. Also, I didn't order online looking for a better price, I wanted quality frame in a shape/size not available in store (Ray Ban).

The service here is AMAZING! My entire family sees them now and my kids look forward to their yearly checkups. We've been going for 5 years and will continue to go to them. They are so patient with the kids and explain everything to them so they understand.

Friendly & professional … thorough & timely … questions answered without rushing and treated with concern & respect … I have attended this office for over 40 years and strongly recommend it to anyone!

This was our first visit. We are 10 mins late for our first appointment, and in was so nervous that we wouldn't her seen. However the front desk was still very warm and inviting. The entire experience was fast and efficient. Michelle helped my son pick he's frames and was so kind with him. Will bring the rest of the family.

Can not say enough good things about Airdrie Eye Care. If I could give more stars I would. Been coming here for what feels like a lifetime. They are always helpful, pleasant, professional and never afraid to help educate you on your eyes. Seen a few different Drs over the years and they have all been amazing. I had some random symptoms and was fit in urgently. I was treated with such kindness and care. Very grateful for such a wonderful clinic and staff.

I have a service dog. A receptionist said we don't allow pets. I told her that he is a service dog. She didn't even get up to see if he had a vest. I told her twice he is a service dog. The manager Hillary phoned and said she was sorry. I didn't want her to apologize I want the rude one to apologize. Hillary said she won't do that. If a person offends someone they are to apologize not the manager. Hillary said I was being inappropriate to demand a apology from the one offended me. It is inappropriate for Hillary to say that it is against company policy for staff to apologize. I was upset but not rude. She basically said I can take my business elsewhere. I said I would then she said that she will put it on record not to call me. Plus Hillary. Something you cupcakes don't understand is there is a difference between hostile and aggressive and frustration. If you knew how many times That I have been attacked by people like you and your kind it probably wouldn't shock your little mind. I hope people read this that you and your employees discriminate against those with service dogs.

I like it here. Very efficient people. Services are great. I enjoy how the eye examinations are done. They’ve got very good testing equipment and everything goes really fast. Recommendations are provided after eye exam and you proceed to the next steps. Very little or no wait times. If a glasses is needed, you’ll be able to select your frames according your style and budget. I was here again recently and I felt really well treated that I come and update this. He does care for the vision and the eyes of all of his patients. And so do the entire team at Airdrie Eyecare Centre. We appreciate the level of care they consistently offer at every visit. The team of technicians, Opticians and Optometric Assistants are kind, nice and friendly. When you enter, the team at the counter would treat you as a VIP. Dr. Long, Dr. Forrest and Dr. M. This is my first time coming to this Eyecare Centre. Beware Customers! I had trial contact lenses ordered and the contact lens fitter did tell me it would be a couple of weeks. 4 weeks later I'm still following up to get them. The actual issue is when I called, the lady that took my call kept interrupting me and wouldn't let me finish to let her know i didn't want the contacts that were special ordered (I am out of contacts). She raised her voice to me. I asked to speak to a manager and she refused. She told me, "Tough Luck. I am canceling your order and you will not get your money back". She then hung up on me. I'm shocked at how rude this employee was. I am going to report this business as the woman will not give me my sample contacts (the ones that came in).

Everyone is so friendly & efficient. My appointment started immediately - no waiting. Extremely knowledgeable staff & Dr. Marcolin is thorough & very kind. She explains everything & I leave feeling fully informed. I highly recommend Airdrie Eyecare!

We took our twins to see Dr. Bryan Thome for regular child eye exams and as a parent, I am extremely impressed with his boundless patience and care that he gave to my very energetic 4 year old boys. Very knowledgeable, explained everything clearly to me and overall very personable. We enjoyed coming in and we will always come to see him for eye exams. The clinic is absolutely gorgeous and the staff is very nice and friendly. Overall great experience. Highly recommend.

Showed up at Airdrie Eye Center today without an appointment (I had booked with another eye clinic in Airdrie thinking it was this one…yeah embarrassing). One of the ladies at the desk called the other clinic and explained the situation to them for me and told them I wouldn’t make it to my appointment. Then they told me they could see me today! I only had to wait about 10 minutes. The staff were all very friendly, kind and professional. They accommodated a confused little person who just accidentally walked in and gave her the best care possible. I can’t praise them enough. I highly recommend the Airdrie Eye Center team.

I finally found an amazing optometrist, Dr. Tania Marcolin. She is definitely my holy grail optometrist! She is very friendly and knows ASL (American sign language). She also take time to listen and explain. You won't be disappointed with her.
Also the staff were amazing! I'll be a returning customer! I would highly recommend this clinic!

I had a fantastic experience at the clinic today! They were very friendly and helpful with my new glasses. I find it hard to get glasses that fit my face well but the staff made the experience fun and easy!

This is a very elegant, bright and welcoming office. They have the latest in equipment for sight testing
And the assistants are very professional and knowledgeable. Dr. Lillian Rieck is an excellent optometrist. She is not only knowledgeable, but takes the time to listen and explain.

Airdrie eyecare centre went above and beyond to provide exceptional customer service to my family’s eye care needs. After having one non satisfactory experience we were nervous to take our 6 years old anywhere to get his eyes checked. But they took amazing care of it. They did detailed check up and figured out what was going on with his eyes and gave us best advice possible. We are very pleased with their service and friendly staff. Will be going back for sure.

I just cannot believe how well I was treated by every single person! I've never seen so many woman work so harmoniously in a work environment! I wish I could remember everyone's names! But the lady that helped me with all my initial exams (the pac man /R2D2 machine) to Nicole and how good she is at just being excited to tell me about what's going on with my eyes. I left her office feeling so well informed! Then seeing Michelle and her help with my surprise of insurance not covering my glasses at all. These women, they love what they do. They are empathetic, kind and just beautiful people. I will never go anywhere else! I don't think anyone should!

Being a patient with an autoimmune disorder and severe recurrent eye condition the staff at this practice are extremely accommodating. Dr. Forrest's patient care is second to none. She always has my best interests at heart. Her patient care I would rate at 100%.

Had my follow up exam from my appointment 4 weeks ago. Dr Tamber was as friendly as the first visit. He explained everything just like the first visit and ensured I understood the results. Dr Tamber and the staff are very friendly and efficient. Will definitely be going back.

They took care of my child, treated them professionally and treated them well, took care of all insurance maters and we where in and out in record time. It was an all around good experience for everyone. Will be return business for sure

Absolutely Phenomenal Office & Staff. The office is high end yet very comfortable and creative. The cleanliness is top notch. My son is Autistic & Special needs has created the process of diagnosis complicated in all of our previous trys before we found this team. It has been such a blessing for us and my son was so at ease the environment has this wonderful energy and their approach is very gentle. I'm Absolutely amazed by our experience here. Cannot thank them enough!

Nice bright office space and very friendly staff. Dr. Jarod Long is very professional and does not rush the appointment.

I injured my eye saturday morning, and they were able to see me right away. Dr. Melissa was great! She was able to tend to my wounds, and I left feeling alot better.
Hopefully I wont be back again, but if I do, I know I'm in good hands.

The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. Dr. Macolin (so sorry if I miss spelled) is very thorough and made me feel at ease. The store is in pristine cleanliness and all machines are cleaned in between patients. I have to say, this was the first eye store that I wasn’t pushed/ persuaded into buying anything. I will be back to look at the glasses selection and purchase a pair (or 2). I unfortunately didn’t have time today. This was an enjoyable experience. Definitely recommend.

I hadn't been to an eye doctor in YEARS and the staff were amazing about it, making jokes and making me feel right at home. Dr. Nicole Deschamps explained everything every step fo the way and was really patient with my questions. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for an amazing experience.

Just letting other people know that this place does not comply with the mask exemptions. So if you or your children have an exemption i would go somewhere else. These businesses should not be allowed to discriminate against people like this. There are exemptions for a reason! I was a good customer for a long time, but I will not be returning!

Staff are friendly and professional. The selection of glasses here is great! I always have a nice experience.

They refused to give me part of my prescription because I wasn’t going to buy glasses from them. I understand they’re running a business but I work hard for my money, so of course I’m not going to spend $900 on their glasses when I can buy the same ones online for a fraction of the price like $200. For anyone reading this you can get your pupillary distance at Walmart for like $20 and if you don’t have full benefits, just buy online. You’ll save hundreds of dollars.
