The restaurant looks tired, the atmosphere is depressing, no renovations have been done at all. The food is not bad, but not budget-friendly for such an establishment. Running in with a family of 4 for a bite to eat costs around $100. The service is also a little lame. We went for the first and last time.
Al Salam Bakery and Restaurant is a grocery store with Mediterranean products but also offers up food service in their restaurant.
The space is very basic with some eastern charm. And our server was very kind and friendly. The food is great. They are very generous with their offerings.
Lovely people working here never disappointing the food is really good had the falafel it doesn’t taste like a box made one amazing and always done fresh. Atmosphere is alright it’s part of a grocery store and a bit outdated look in restaurant however nice and clean.
Never heard of the place but got a recommendation from a work mate. I went and tried the chicken souvlaki pita and it was SO GOOD. I'm hooked and definitely will be back to try more things on the menu. They put it together right in front of you with fresh vegetables and they are friendly. They also have some groceries and a place to sit and eat if you wish. Everything smelled and looked delicious.
Part restaraunt part market, had alot of culture that comes through.
First thing you notice when coming through is the shisha's and the market supplies by the region. Shelved are stocked with desserts like baklava, than theirs the kitchen behind it.
I had the Laheem Ajeen which is a beef, tomatoe and onion spread on a baked pita. Use stone ovens to cook pita and the ingredients as well. Quite tasty and only 5 bucks at the time of the review. Big fan of food you can pick up and go. They also have a sit down restaraunt style as well and have full menus of the Lebanese kitchen/bakery.
I went there yesterday and got a Large chicken shawarma, but was very disappointed i found hair in my wrap, i think its time for the girls that takes the orders wear hair net, because they all have long hair!
We love this place - authentic fresh Arabic food - lots of options especially for vegetarian people to choose from. (probably the best falafel and Man’oushe in South Edmonton). Love their chicken shawarma and platters. Nothing beats their fresh bread. And whenever we’re here, we’ll do some groceries from here as well - lots of Middle Eastern food items.
This middle Eastern GEM in Edmonton makes you feel like you're eating in a family space, with food cooked with love! We had a group of 12 for lunch, shared some DELICOUS platters, drank ayran and Turkish coffee. The freshly served pita was soft and steaming and the variety of dips on the menu all have a unique flavour. YUM AND THANK YOU!
Ordered 1 chicken shawarma and found it very good. Ordered 3 types of man'ousheh: zaatar one was good, lahm was decent but spinach was inedible. For me the highlight was the lack of decent customer service. We didn’t feel welcome at all. Some people working there didn’t seem thrilled with their jobs. Otherwise a decent place. Might order again but ONLY for home delivery.
Incredibly unprofessional and antagonizing management. Referred to my partner as “princess” and “desperate” with laughing emojis when she expressed discomfort with being asked to interview and start training “today in two hours”. She asked if they could schedule not so last minute and the manager started insulting her with laughing emojis.
The bread they make is the best. Shopping here is convenient. Today, we tried their food, and OMG Very yummy with a lower price compared to other places.
We have been advised by so many people not to shop there, very rude people higher prices, girl at the cashier charged me full price for sweet box that was not closed properly and fail down as I was heading to pay few pieces came out, no wonder why people go from south side all the way to north to shop for Arabic food. Not recommend zero star
Came in there a few days ago for Dine - In. Had a chicken shawarma plate. The lady who served me was bland, didn’t have much personality going on. And the girl at the till that took my payment was so rude, she didn’t say thank you goodbye or anything … Please follow up with me.
Horrible customer service from owner. The food is cold and we complain that with management and he is youngster owner he is very rude and disrespectful service from him. We spend $97.54 with my kids. And he didn’t look after us. So zero star going to this place.
Great menu, talented chefs, amazing portions. We went during Ramadan, so it was crazy busy and the service could not quite keep up. But other than that, super friendly and accommodating.
The food at Al Salam is amazing and always fresh. We love the pita bread, tabbouleh, and the akawi cheese. We cannot say enough about their creamy home made hummus, as we always get some. I would also like to recommend the staff for friendliness and helpfulness. They have an amazing grocery section too, which is interesting and well stocked.
