The worst customer service ever, I called before to go to store and they didn’t mention the I need 2 piece of ID while I told them I am a new customer and after driving for the more than 30 min they refuse to do the transaction as I have 1 piece of ID. The man on the fron disc was so rude. This guys didn’t learn about customer service before. I am a customer and they should help me! Why they open the store then!

Despite all the bad reviews, I went ahead on several times and dealt with several employees, every time the experience is just better and better, if you’re reasonable they’re helpful with what they can control. Go ahead and give them a try.

I do not recommend them because they treat immigrants badly as if we were criminals, carrying your identification documents and legal documents to stay in Canada but there is a man who does whatever it takes to not change the money, he looks for thousands of excuses and they are not clear. In the REQUIREMENTS each day is a different one, very bad SERVICE.

I went in to buy a tube of 25,1 ounce silver maple leafs on Saturday morning. I payed in US funds. The price was actually about $10 cheaper than the Friday before. The girl wasn't overly friendly but she was fast and efficient, and in the end that's all you really want anyway. She may have been having a bad day, we all do sometimes. Pleased with my purchase, and would deal there again. Already referred two of my friends to these guys. Prices are fair.

Terrible Customer Service! I went to get some Euros (at an already inflated price) and was then told that my Debit Card was not from a Bank that their 'book keeper' recognized. It is a National Bank Card BTW - My options were to use another card or take out cash (with a high fee I am certain).

Sorry that you and the book keeper are ignorant of all banks in Canada - but if the PIN works and the transaction complete - I do not see a clearly articulable concern?

Do not bring numismatic coins here. Whoever their appraiser is they have no clue. I was offered $50 for an 1887 Carson City Morgan Silver Dollar! Calgary Coin Gallery offered me a fair $250.

Always like buying from here when visiting from British Columbia. The margins are much lower than buying online from SilverGoldBull. I can pay for gas and a weekend at mid range hotel to come and still break even on the difference. Sells both RCM and Pamp Suisse.

My go-to place for bullion purchases as online places, even those IN Calgary, charge $20+ for shipping. This past week I went to pick up a few SMLs before year end. Check their website and don't see any message about Low Inventory or Out Of Stock. I try calling to confirm holiday hours and check stock.never picked up the few times I tried, but confirmed open. Drive down, park, wait in line.then find out they don't have any left. Their website status is a joke.if you're out of a product, tell us, especially if your business model is to not answer the phone most times. Was a disappointing experience to end of the year.

Horrible place to go, threatening to keep gold hostage as well as ID. All becuase she never told us about a 75 dollar appraisal fee.which took less then 1 minute to do anyways. Testing gold with a drop is not a real appraisalin the first place, then she got rude so I told her I was going to phone the police becuase I told her it was stealing, then she got even ruder. Dialed 911 and she threw the stuff back to us and we left. Horrible people there, trying to scam other people.

I have used the services of Albern Coins & Foreign exchange many times. I have found they have the best prices in town as well fair and competitive rates for purchasing and selling gold and metals. Yes, some staff are rude and very, very serious in their work. It creates a tense engagement if I am honest. Be prepared to bring ID and wait in line if it is at a busier time. The parking here is horrible which is what contributes to a 4/5 star.

I called Thursday regarding a few older Canadian coins & 1 older Canadian bill. I went into the business Friday morning.only had a few coins to check out. I walk up to the counter & say good morning, how are you? The 50+ year old guy with glasses grunts & says ya.a younger guy with glasses is also minorly involved in the transaction.he also behaved in the same manner. Also rudely advised me to do my homework when collecting older bills. Handed all of my coins & bill that was unwanted by them. I will never again frequent this business & will advise all I know including my 150 weekly dog customer's to never frequent this business. If I could have given a 0. I thought customer service was to attract the customer to frequent the business again. Also terrible parking available here if you can even find a spot anywhere, in my opinion, avoid this business @ all cost, even if you have to drive 10-20 kms to find Better Customer service

They would not sell to me because I did not have 2 pieces of ID. It's the only time I've ever been denied service for wanting to do too much business.

I took in a large amount of coins yesterday afternoon to Alberns. They called me back this morning to say that they had finished their assessment and made me a fair offer for all of the coins they were interested in. I found the staff helpful, professional, knowledgeable and friendly. I would definitely reccomend them to anyone looking for a coin dealer in Calgary.

Edit: I used to really like them but they kicked me out for not wearing a mask. Havent been back and dont plan to go back.

Andrew is the very Most helpful and accommodating, enjoyable and informative, supportive and sincere person I have ever met (over the phone no less.he could have easily hung up on me). Despite Covid B. S, he went way out of his way to ensure my small $ purchase was treated like gold. Never underestimate the VALUE of this place.

I was there to purchase my bullion and received excellent service. Store was very busy after the lunch hours, but the staff got rid of the line up outside pretty quick, and they made my purchase smooth and easy.

Totally satisfied with the service received on several occasions from Albern Coins both in store as well as on line.

When the exchange rate suits you, you open your doors to customers, and when the exchange rate does not suit you, you close these doors in the face of customers.

Fantastic experience! Very polite and professional. I took a box of coins in to get appraised and they had them done in three days! Reasonable price for appraisal and they even sorted all the coins for me! Will definitely do business again!

The day I went there was a line up out the door and the staff had been on the go all day. They were all still cheerful and helpful. It was nice.

Abosutly disgusting service. Went to buy a 40 dollar coin and was required to have I'd phone number as well as had my purchase refused dude to someone else paying for me while they were at the counter together

Best prices for silver and gold bullions in Calgary. I am really happy with the services. They were actually wanting to listen to my needs even though I am not very experienced into investing in bullions. They answered all my questions to the highest satisfaction and helped me to make a right decision investing in bullions. I heard about them from a friend that they have been in business for over 54 years and have been offering very competitive prices. Completely satisfied with the customer service, and kudos to the advice they offered me. Highly recommend them to other calgary residents.

Terrible customer service if you can call it service! As if you’re doing them a favour bringing them coins? Is that not their business. Very abrupt and disrespectful and obviously in desperate need of customer service training. Surprise it’s been business as long as they have. The previous owner was fabulous to deal with. If I could’ve put zero stars I certainly would’ve. Avoid.

Mostly rare and expensive coins. Not much for beginner collectors. Wanted to buy couple of Ancient Roman Empire coins there. But surprisingly my request to scan coin (without removing it from case) with my phone app was denied. Staff member was basically on defence right away saying things such as “why you don't trust us? ” and eventually agreed to let me scan a coin but only if I would buy coin first. I explained that I am not very experienced collector and I need to see some information on that coin before buying it. And buying it before checking this information would actually make This checking it pointless. But at this point I felt not welcome anymore so I just left. By no means I am saying that this shop is bad, or sell some bad stuff. But simple identification scan with my phone of the coin to check a value and to ensure that in front of me actually genuine coin for some reason was a big issue to stuff member. So if you need to buy something from them ensure that you did your homework on the coin before you ask for it.

Went in, bought silver and left. I would say the service is fine, i didnt really ask any questions though. The question you should ask yourself is, are you holding "dollars" or are you holding "currency"
