Free entrance. There is a shop where you enter the park, where you can buy many souvenirs. You can buy bags of feed to feed the ducks, geese and mallards in the lake. Children love it. There are falconry presentations in which trainers demonstrate how falcons and eagles fly from one trainer to another in exchange for food. That's awesome. It has presentation with owls. And there are places where the birds are exposed for visitation, attached to supports on the ground, without bars, but separated by a chain. People can hold the owls on their forearms for friends and family to take pictures of. For free. They are big or small owls. You cannot take pets.

As a bird enthusiast and nature lover, I was excited to visit the Alberta Birds of Prey Foundation. However, when I entered the area where staff were holding owls, I noticed other owls tethered on short ropes to a stand next to a bowl of water. The tiny burrowing owls were frantically trying to break free and flap their wings. I was almost in tears. I asked the staff member why the owls were tethered in this way and asked if they had to stay there all day and night. The answer was unsatisfactory to me as she just told me that the birds don’t fly much anyway and tend to be more sedentary. I don’t understand why these birds could not be in an enclosure like the other owls, hawks, and eagles. I feel like this practice is needlessly cruel and unnecessary. I would be open to any feedback from the organization as I know they do good work rescuing birds of prey. But, I simply can’t get that image of the tiny owl trying to untether itself. I hope these birds are afforded some time to exercise and exhibit natural behaviours, they are, after all, wild animals.

Our family loves visiting here. The kids enjoy watching the flight program and feeding the ducks. Great place to take the fam.

Did you know eagles drooled & have tongues? Me neither, but now I do!

A simple facility, but educational and fun place with beautiful birds. We held owls, bathed eagles, fed ducks, watched an Eagle and also a Hawk show.
Kids and adults can enjoy. Felt a bit pricey at first (we were 6 people, paid $65) but you also get the sense of wanting to help and the up close experience with these majestic birds is unique.
Might not go again, but definitely worth it once.

Awesome place to learn about eagles, hawks, and owls. Totally non-profit, and keeping things maintained, and the Birds are well cared for.

I’ve been wanting to stop and visit here for a while! So glad we finally made it here on our recent trip to Southern Alberta. What an amazing operation and foundation; the staff are so friendly and knowledgeable and I learned so much about different birds. My favourite part were the 2 flying demonstrations and holding an owl. Highly recommend a visit here!

It's a good place to see the birds of prey specially owls and eagles. Feeding ducks can also be a good experience. You can hold owls on your hand (under supervision) and can capture the moment too. The museum also reflects on the hidden side of the nature. Do watch the eagle's flight demonstrated by trained and very knowledgeable handlers (at around 12: 30pm). Staff has kept the whole place neat and clean. Kudos for the efforts. Good place for all to spent 2-3 hours among nature.

It is a wonderful world of owls, eagles, ducks and other birds of prey. Well managed and maintained with dedicated volunteers holding many shows in a day.
We could participate in an owl show and eagle show.
You can hold some of the birds in your hand and also pet them, a wonderful experience indeed.
A big thanks to all the staff and volunteers for their dedicated time and efforts. Buy some duck food, souvenirs and donate money.
A BIG Thanks for the experience and to be able to see them so close.

What a cool place to visit birds that you don't normally get to see up close. They have different shows where the birds fly around. The staff is very knowledgeable about the birds which is good for people that don't know the difference. Kid friendly with lots of free parking.

My whole family loved seeing the birds.

It was much better than I had imagined.

It's wonderful to be able to support an organization that helps rehabilitate birds in distress!
We love going there every time we are in the Lethbridge area.

Great fun for our whole extended family (age 9 -75). Learned a lot, and loved how interactive this experience was. Would highly recommend this gem of a place for anyone visiting southern Alberta.

If you've always wanted to see eagles, falcons, owls and other birds of prey up close, you'll love this place. It's educational, but it's also amazing how beautiful these birds are. The centre does valuable work to rehab these animals, and the public gets to learn about them at the same time. It's worth the drive to Coaldale to visit this centre.

Such a great place to visit! I've been here several times and feeding the ducks never gets old. I love the bird show. Today we saw a bald eagle named Jefferson. The show is always very informative and the presenter friendly and knowledgeable.

Best part of my visit to south Alberta. A must visit. Even my husband who is not a fan of birds enjoyed visiting there alot. I enjoyed alot from different range of activities there including keeping on hand and photo shot with owl, bald eagle flight demonstration with her funny walking, feeding ducks, unique owl with big ears, most importantly little naughty owl inside the box in the office. Everything was awesome. Thank you to everyone who is working there voluntary and all the supporters, ATB, FORTIS, etc. Hope this place always gets running and help these super cute birds.

Loved it. Our whole family had a wonderful time. The staff was fantastic. Answering any questions. They had different birds out at different times of the day. Great to have an up close look. Feeding the ducks was also great. We will definitely be going again.

Had an amazing experience watching an eagle fly and holding some beautiful owls! The staff are super friendly and informative and made my daughter's experience very memorable for her! We will be going back on a regular basis! Learned so many interesting facts about Birds of Prey!

Wow, what a hidden gem! Definitely head back another day. Lots of owls, eagles, falcons, hawks and of course feeding the ducks. Remember to buy lots of duck food… they are starved! But more because it’s a fun way to help them raise money for a good cause like this. All the volunteers a super friendly and helpful. And make sure to catch the eagle flight show.
