Service was quick and to the point. Which brings me to the point of price gouging. It required max 25 mins, and I was charged full hour of labour for it! The issue was to identify and replace fuse on furnace control board. Taking advantage of people's woes unfortunately.

Very helpful and quick to respond! Talked us through what to do with our hot water tank in the interim while we were waiting for them too.

Great service from AB General Plumbing. Murray came and fixed my broken toilet shut off valve after it had busted and leaked. Worked quickly, was friendly and cleaned up after completing work.

Amazing experience, Heath was very friendly and personable but also incredibly knowledgeable and able to resolve our problem right away. We also had a 4 hour window he may arrive at and he arrived right at the start of that window so I could go on with the rest of my day. Overall a fantastic experience.

A text from my wife who was home during the service, "Pauly did a wonderful job, he was professional, friendly, outside the box thinker! He was great at his job and was fast but triple checked his work. Rex the service manager also helped take out and put in the old and new water heater tanks. Will recommend to friends. Heath came to fix a plumbing valve that was leaking (as part of my home warranty). He was friendly, professional, quick, and did a good job and cleaned up after himself.
I would have preferred if he had worn a mask while we were doing the consultation so that’s why I gave the 4/5 rating, otherwise it would’ve been 5/5. (I forgot to ask him to, but other contractors I’ve dealt with have worn one when they show up initially.)
Note: I only paid a deductible so I can’t speak to whether the prices were competitive or not.

The guys came out to do a boiler service and test of our irrigation system. They showed up well within the service window, were friendly and explained the services being provided. Awesome experience.

I had my hot water tank serviced. This company is fantastic to deal with. The repairman was able to quickly find the issue and was also able to make the repairs right away. I highly recommend General Plumbing and Heating.

Total waste of time and money! We had attic rain that we needed to get looked after. This company was recommended by our realtor. An inspector from this company came out and decided that it wasn’t his job without even going inside the attic. Charged $150 and said to call a roofer to fix the issue. Had a roofer look at it who said it is not a roofing issue. The ducts in the attic need to be sealed better. The roofer said to call an hvac company. Finally had another hvac company come out to fix the issue. Do not recommend this company at all!

I used AGP&H to install a new Navien NPE240A2 and remove the existing AO Smith Hybrid water heater. They came to my home before contract free of charge to check the existing condition, they sent me the quote and they install and finished the job on time and as agreed. They came a day after installation to my home to check and do some more adjustment. Huge thanks to Mr. Rex Oranchuk and his team. Special thanks to Mr. Heath Bittle who did the plumbing, piping and package installation work. Great workmanship, customer satisfaction attitude, follow COVID-19 protocols, safety, result and detail oriented. They understand very well local regulations related to their work. I highly recommend them. Just call them, their promise and shaking hands are more reliable than couple of written contract pages.

We had a leak from the sealing. I called the General Plumbing and Heating and they sent a plumber, the guy came, walk back and forth through the house but did nothing. He charged an hour of walking and service call fee and promised to return with mitigation plan. I have not heard from him since. I have used this company before for my radian floor heating boiler, and they did the job. Unfortunately this time it was not even close to professional service.

The technician came within hours on very cold day. The issue with my hot water tank was fixed within minutes. Thanks so much!

We had General Plumbing / J. R. Mechanical come to look at our hydronic floor heating system that was not functioning properly. It seemed like the two gentleman that came out to look at the system were more interested in transforming our simple system, which has worked for 20 years, into a totally upgraded system. Step one of this upgrade was quoted at almost $1600. What was really happening is that two zone valves were not working properly and therefore not triggering the pump to come on; I assessed this, they did not. The experts were so intent on upgrading our system and making a tidy profit that they did not even bother to open up the zone valve cover to troubleshoot the problem. After they left, I thought a little harder about what could be wrong and proceeded to fix the issue myself by just testing and trying a few more things.

The gentlemen that paid us a visit, who are experts, could have surely diagnosed the problem in about a minute if that was of interest to them vs doing a big expensive upgrade. Even when I asked them for some clarity on their quote, I got what I considered to be a rather terse email. It felt like I was being treated as a completely unintelligent person; I will admit I'm not a hydronic floor heaing expert but I am a bit handy around the house so this was almost demeaning.

Because of the two service technicians, I would not recommend this company whatsoever. But I will commend the person who answered the phone and set up the appointment. She was most courteous and professional.

Worst service, customer service. Called to get a dishwasher fixed, Murray came and thought it was the drain pipe but instead of fixing that he decided to clean the drain and fix the issue charging 300 for the visit, a day later the problem came back. The second time he fixed what he thought was the issue originally and charged over 200. When asked why he didn't fix what he thought was the issue the first time, his answer "he thought cleaning would fix the issue". Well Murray you have a plumbing ticket you are the professional and if trail and error how you fix things I wouldn't need your service. When I approached the owner Rick or Bic his answer was the same. We have to trial and error and see what can fix the issue. Their trial and error fix caused me over 500 dollars for a leaky dishwasher. So guys before you go to them for a trial and error fix and hope professional plumber just do it yourself and save money or call an actual plumber who has earned a plumbing ticket and uses it.

They were pretty quick. I got the work done in no time. Little pricy but it is ok for the quality of work done and quick response.

Good service. Knowledgeable technicians. But beware they are at the top of the price scale for plumbers in Calgary. I needed a $30 part replaced and the total bill once labor was added was $400. This was not a weekend or late night emergency job. Regular day rate During the week $120 per hour labor rate and 79.99 just for coming to your door. Much much cheaper options available for basic work in town.

I cannot give enough praise to these fine people. After being on the wrong end of thousands of dollars spent on very poor quality and unprofessional service from a half-dozen alleged "hydronic heating expert" companies, we were extremely surprised and pleased to find this company.

Rex came over to our house for a consultation and immediately identified several issues with our heating system configuration and fixed 1 problem within 2 minutes of looking at our system. He took time to explain some of the nuances and "whys" of what was wrong and how to correct it. I was gob-smacked since I have spent 7 years of talking with and asking questions of all the previous heating "experts" that we've had in our home, but no one has ever pointed out so many things in such an accurate and short period of time like Rex did.

James and Paul came over to make some adjustments and James spent a lot of time troubleshooting some complications that arose.

It almost felt like a personal friend was working on my heating system because James explained things in a detailed way and it felt like he really cared a lot for the quality of his work. He even followed up with me the next day to make sure everything was working well and offered a few more tips and things to keep an eye on.

Look at how many 5 star ratings these guys have. There is a reason for that: they are extremely professional. They are easily the best hydronic heating guys in town after 7 years of searching for them.

The experience was top notch from the first call received from the very pleasant and professional inside staff member to the last contact with the service technician! I would highly recommend Alberta General Plumbing to anyone looking for honest and professional service!
