Alberta Indoor Comfort previously Sears

I trust and have worked with this company since they took over for Sears. They have great customer service and a good warranty that is included on their products.
My furnace stopped working at night when it was -29C. No heat is concerning at that temperature. They had a technician out to diagnose the issue and I had a new furnace installed the next morning. They brought me heaters to get me through the night.

They responded immediately within hours after our furnace died. Denis provided professional service and quality products in case replacement needed. While a little more expensive than competitors we were impressed enough with service to have them install new one. The work was completed by Diego the next day who communicated all the changes to operating new furnace and further advise on how to improve hearing of home. So far so good.

This company is absolutely disgusting. Our furnace was making a loud noise so we had someone come over and take a look at it. Not only did he give us a quote of a ABSOLUTELY ridiculous price of 9 grand, tell us we needed a brand new furnace, but this company refused to give us a furnace for two weeks. We spent two weeks in the cold with only tiny heaters to just barely keep us warm. What's even worse, is that after finding a different company to take a look at our furnace we were told that we only needed the moter replaced AND they damaged it AND they made it so we weren't able to turn on the heat. DO NOT go with this company, it Is an absolute scam.

Upon inquiring about options to cool my bedroom and also be protected from wildfire smoke, an appointment was given to me to have one of their experts meet with me at my home. Kim arrived on time and spent a long time gathering all the information about my house to be able to provide best options. She did a very thorough job, was professional and was, at the same time, she was easy to talk to and ask novice questions. I learned so much about cooling options and my own house.

Unfortunately, the quotes for three options were out of my price range (as a senior without much income coming in - and other reasons pertaining to my situation only). I told Kim that I regretted taking so much of her time and not being able to go ahead with any of the options. She did not in any way make me feel that I wasted her time. The meeting was a learning experience for me even though I would have preferred some financial figures by phone and realizing I could not afford.

Installation was efficient, and I had them come back for an annual service. However the upsell has been ongoing (3 inquiries since the service) in spite of me advising that I'm not seeking UV lights or filters right now.that is a bit too aggressive for me. (With that said it's probably typical for most HVAC installers.)

I asked Alberta indoor comfort to quote me on a radon mitigation system. The person who came out tried to sell me on an HRV instead, and then tried to sell me duct cleaning, the furnace tune up. None of these are related to what I asked them to quote.
For the next several weeks after the quote I received text messages, emails, and phone calls, nearly daily pestering me for my business, and to write a review. I don't normally bother writing reviews, but they insisted I do so, so here it is.

Sheldon was extremely thorough and knowledge. He took the time to explain what he was doing and then offered his expertise in advising around the AC and the venting in my home. I learned a number of things from him. A true professional with personality.

Staff exceptionally professional both in the installation and explanation of benifits of additional devices and services. Very knowledgeable no at all pushy.

Duct Sealing. Time will tell if duct sealing corrected HVAC distribution problems. It is costly but I am hoping to save on heating bills next winter. They also tell you everything else that is wrong with your furnace, hot water system, etc.and I thought the duct sealing was expensive.ha ha.
Warning they need access to all the vents in your house. Service was fine, though.

My only feedback would have been the upselling. It wasn’t high pressure and was probably well-intentioned, but between the home visits and the phone call from their booking person it happened a few times.

Just had what could have been a very stressful situation 4 days before a big event (not to mention upcoming forecast of -17° - -22°). I called Alberta Indoor Comfort after our furnace emitted a loud jackhammering noise at 7: 20am, then motor quit running after a couple minutes. It did not kick back in and I could see the temperature on thermostat decreasing. I called Alberta Indoor Comfort and within a few hours, Daryl arrived to assess the damage. To replace one of the two motors on this old furnace, already past its prime, was probably going to be a waste of money. After much discussion, two fellows arrived the very next morning to a very cold house. Terence and James were incredible. Extremely knowledgeable, competent and hard working, they knew their stuff. They worked diligently non stop until the job was done, put in a new thermostat (and explained how to use it in a couple different ways), checked our carbon dioxide alarms. They did not leave until they were certain all was functioning 100%, did a thorough clean up. Really communicated well throughout the entire day. I totally recommend this company and these two, valued employees!

Alberta Indoor Comfort is awesome! I called them late PM on a weekday and they had a licensed technician show up the next morning early AM for a free diagnosis. The technician did not make us feel rushed in any way, answered all of our questions, and presented all the options to us while not trying to press for any service. Wonderful professionalism, we will be going to them for all our furnace/hot water tank/AC needs. Highly recommend!

I requested to have the water supply in the boiler be replaced by Glycol, the unit was 3.5 times the costs of the retailer cost, that is $1500 as opposed $420, I accepted the price because he was going to replace the water in the zone system with Glycol. The unit that contain the Glycol was filled with Glycol as I could see but I didn’t know about what was in the hidden pipes, the reservoir unit leaked so I phoned to get it fixed and at the same time got some liquid from the heated pipe to discover that was still water in the pipes. When he came back told him about it he flushed the system with 2X5 gallon pails of tap water, replacing water with water, the only Glycol in the system is the 2 pints that was in the reservoir that is now mixed with water, it is a clear solution now, instead of green in the reservoir. Also he replaces two bleeder valves which he didn’t have, he went from my home in Claresholm to Fort McLeod an hour return trip, got the wrong pieces and had to go back so charge me 2 hours @ $150/hr for replacing those two $50 items

Michael serviced my parents furnace and he was very efficient and polite. He explained what he was doing and instructed my mom on how to look after things for herself between services.

Not professional in our repeated experience. Their star technician is very rude and his diagnostic is always "change the unit" Perhaps that is why they keep him.

Next day on time two very pleasent and efficient (didnt get name, initial SB) arrived and installed new furnace and explained everything I needed to know. Again very professional and knowageable. Next day Kurtis and partner attended to clean out our duct system. Once again great people and very efficent. ; Dont know who hires employees for this company but they do great job. I Purchased a New AC unit from Carla in July. It has not worked properly since day 1! My August has been spent getting to know the service technicians They're coming again on Monday. Poor quality to say the least!

Really nice people to deal with. Lots of attention to detail and follow up checks were nice to make sure everything was working good. Easy payment plans make this company a good one to pick. It’s so nice to be cool and comfortable in my home. I recommend them.

Three men showed up on time. One fellow (Michael) installed one new air vent and one new cold air return air vent. David and Dare cleaned all the ducts and showed me pictures of how perfectly clean they were, when finished. They were here about three house and left the place in good shape. They had done all I had requested, bill was as quoted. I am delighted to recommend their service.

I normally would hesitate to write a review but I thought I should for this company. Carla and her team are great to work with. I had a split ac installed on my apartment unit and no other company are willing to do the approval process and provide the detailed pricing and the exact specs. Booked our annual furnace maintenance call. Blaze (technician) showed up on time, said how long the procedure would be and he was bang on. On alternate years we will have both water heaters serviced as well as the fireplaces, but that wasn’t required. Blaze was personable and answered all my questions, including his feedback on air conditioning, which we do not currently have. I would highly recommend this firm and this serviceman, dependable and high quality work.

Two months ago Alberta Indoor Clean Air recommended that I needed a new furnace after I had an ignition problem with my old furnace. I agreed and the new furnace was installed in one day as promised. I then noticed some deficiencies and the City Inspector wrote a non compliance notice for the installation. It has taken four visits by the installer to fix these issues, three of these visits were required to satisfy the City Inspector that the flue gas system complied with the Verification of Compliance that the Installer had falsified and signed off after the initial installation. Recently on a cold night the furnace ran for the longest time since being installed, I noticed water running from under the furnace. I investigated and found the installer had not connected the drain pipe to the flue gas condensation tank, he had also left an unconnected electrical component at the bottom of the furnace. I informed the company by leaving a review on their site and followed up with a voice mail 3 days later, no one has called me back. I now doubt the initial diagnosis on the need for a new furnace and I have no confidence that the installation has been carried out safely. This lack of professionalism is completely unacceptable especially when it involves potentially lethal gas connections

I see a great company that genuinely cares about the well being of its customers. The employees are happy and willing to go the extra mile.

The service/maintenance guy, Blaize, was wonderful and very patient in answering my questions. He is very professional and came prepared to service the furnace. I would definitely request for him for any future furnace maintenance.

We were contacted to schedule a regular service appointment for our furnace. We attempted to schedule the appointment on a Thursday afternoon at 1: 30 pm but the service person could only make 1 pm work. So, we scheduled the following Tuesday at 5 pm. Next day I received a call that Tuesday at 5 pm wouldn't work because their service person took a holiday (it's May long after all) but guess what? Thursday afternoon opened up again. So we booked for 2 pm on Thursday afternoon. Everything was great, right? Nope. My wife received a call saying they couldn't make it Thursday (day of the appointment) and they asked us to re-schedule. What a mess - and a lot of accommodations for the appointment. I hope my experience was an outlier. If you're worried about scheduling and re-scheduling appointments then go elsewhere for service.
