It was good we went to go see the lights at Christmas time. It was good but not what I remember. There was construction all over the place. It was a really great date. We just walked around and took in the ambiance.
We had a pleasant and safe walk through the grounds at dusk in October. Everywhere was well lit. It was quiet. We saw two or three other small groups walking around.
The steps to the Legislature building were blocked off due to construction.
Well kept, wouldn't walk alone at night. Neat facilities underground including a museum and some stuff. And of course, you can go watch your elected public officials do their thing.
Was very nice and was a very awesome experience with talking to the people that are staying there and listening to the drumming and singing from the native singers and I stand 110 % with these people and for what they are standing up for cause they are standing up for all of us and are rights as humans. I wish I could be there with them. STAY STRONG AND DONT BAVK DOWN.
This is always a favourite place of mine to visit in the winter. The lights are magnificent in the snow, and the music quietly playing makes it just magical. The Ledge has some construction going on or something though, so don't count on getting awesome pics with it in the background.
Road my one wheel here for a group ride on one wheels and EUC's. Would've been nice if the fountains had water in them to cool off a bit in the summer time but maybe they'll be on next year.
Beautiful grounds, plenty of parking, safe place (monitored by video surveillance). Only problem is that the building is under major restorations and one cannot appreciate its full beauty.
I currently hate that the fountains are off and the building seems like it's constantly under construction. We used to love the fountains, first as a kid, then with my own children. I feel like they need to add more grout and fix some if the water features.
I do love the grounds though. It's well maintained, with beautiful, unique flowers and plants. So for grounds 5 stars but I miss the fun fountains!
I have been taking my kids here since they were babies and we still go here as a family to have fun even though they are young adults now. It is the perfect place to go to take great family pictures. Highly recommend this place for all ages!

I attended an Indigenous event behind the legislature building. There's a big open space surrounded by huge trees in the shape of a circle with an open stage at one end. It's a really beautiful setting; and really well maintained!
Great location to get some sun! Lots of room to for outdoor activities like playing frisbee or catch with a group of friends. There is often events going on as well as a protest every so often.
This is the Alberta Legislative Assembly Building and grounds here in Edmonton. There are many places where you can park your vehicle most of them are park and pay. Every year its decorated beautifully for Christmas but this year I believe due to renovation the building was not decorated. But as usual the grounds had many lights. The single massive Christmas tree was well decorated with reindeers on the ground. The grounds are peaceful to walk. Before the covid19 restrictions public were allowed to go into the building. The building is quite old but very well maintained.
I'm sure this place would be nice to visit during the milder months, but we couldn't really walk around too long during our most recent visit because of the freezing temperature. Anyway, nice views from the Capitol Plaza terrace, especially of the legislative building with its eye-catching dome. And they really know how to dress up the grounds for the holidays! Very colorful and festive. Paid parking was mostly hassle free.
Beautiful place to go for a stroll. Evening scenery is better than daytime in my opinion. You get different perspective from daytime and evening though. My girlfriend and I hold this place close to our hearts.
The receptionists helped me find the Official Documents office. One of them even went out to show me where I should go. Thank you so much! I wish you all the best.
A lovely place to go for a walk any time of year. Plus you can go check out the exhibits and a movie and they sometimes have other things to do all for free.
This is a great place to visit during festivals and holidays there always seems to be something going on and there are many places here to take cool photographs and get creative. Large open fields of grass with water fountains In the summer and beautiful gardens full of flowers. This place has concrete paths which means a wheelchair or elderly should have no issues getting around, there is a small hill from South to North side but should cause no issues. Bring a lunch and your camera if you choose to plenty of places to sit and relax a bit.
We went there for the New Year's Eve fireworks. Theres not much for parking so it's much easier to take the LRT to get in and out. The grounds are clean and well kept. They kept government buildings open to look around during the night before the fireworks and lots of other entertainment and food trucks, plus a couple bonfires to keep warm. We had a great time and would come back again next New Year's Eve.
Oh, this was the highlight of my week, for real. I went with a group of women and it was delightful. Our tour guide was really knowledgeable and patient with all our questions. But the best part was the 12 minute movie show at the end of the tour- a stunning 4D experience you cannot afford to miss.
This Is the only place in Edmonton that is out of the box. You will be surprised to see the legislative building and its a best place for the pre wedding shoot.
Waited 2 hours for the fireworks very boring nothing to do should have a band going at have the new year's count down. Every other city has that except deadmonton
The guards wont let limousines on the grounds so my customers wedding party was forced to walk Even though the grounds are for everyone to enjoy i guess this is only for those they like
It was my first time going here for the evening movie. My family enjoyed it. The complimentary popcorn and drinks made it look like the cinema style. The staff were friendly and courteous. I'll definitely go back again with my family.
