Definitely decent enough for a lab. The lab employees try their best to get walk ins through. It’s often stuffed after 9am or even 8am so you need to go soon after it opens to avoid waiting longer than 2hours. I still give 4 stars because it is decently organized for the fact that they try to get so many people through, but I do wish there were more options here in Airdrie
Appointment took 3 weeks then waiting on day of appointment more than an hour. They will not see you on time of appointment but by time you check in. You can eat and come back after you check in.
I get that our healthcare system is a mess and I sympathize being understaffed, but the wait times are just ridiculous. I tried to book an appointment online but the soonest available was end of August and my doctor needed results fast. Okay, so I thought I would do a walk in. I'm really nervous when it comes to needles and blood, and I can faint. Not all the time, but it is a precaution I take. They were good in the past with preparing the lie down room, and I'm used to waiting 40ish minutes for that. But three hours and no acknowledgement or confirmation? I'm used to waiting in labs, but this is honestly unacceptable. Calgary isn't this bad, and maybe I should have gone there instead. It's almost closing and there is no indication of any movement with the patients. I feel for the staff, I really do, but I just feel ignored at this point. It's not a good feeling to watch everyone go and not even a smile to me. A "we will be with you soon. We are just backed up a little and need more time to prepare for you. " Is that too much to ask? I'm worried that they will ask me about food and I have to respond with "breakfast" and they'll deny me cause I haven't eaten anything for some time. I will take a sitting room, I'll do whatever to just get this train moving. For the people who are like me who are a little sensitive to this stuff, we matter too and maybe it might be better to install more lie down rooms than the one? I don't like being a bother to anyone and I feel guilty that I might be making people work extra for me... I don't know. A little kindness and more transparency would help. That, and more funding.
This is what happens when you privatize healthcare, people.
The staff is doing the best they can with what they have. It's not their fault that the business can't handle the amount of people in the area to service. Everyone's doing what they can with what they have.
I have been here lots in the last few months and yes, I have had to wait, but the staff have always been absolutely lovely, professional and prompt. No complaints.
If hell is real its this place right here. Showed up 20 minutes early for my appointment and was told to get to the back of the walk in line and was their for almost 3 hours. Black lady was rude and rough. Would rather drive to the boonies for blood work than going back to this joint
Walked in without appointment around 10am. Waited a couple minutes in line at the reception. Then got informed that it’s around 2 hour wait time but I am free to go and I’ll get a text message 10min prior to when it’s my turn. Love that. So unnecessary to be held hostage in a waiting room if you can use that time to run errands or enjoy the nice weather outside. Worked out great. Friendly staff all around. Thank you
Simply their text system is a lie. I got fool after 90min held me then they said we can add you to onsite but 15 peoples are ahead of you! I don’t know maybe I need christian name, sine two peoples had same complain but they immediately took care of them.
Airdrie needs another lab! My husband gets his bloodwork done here only because this place is closest to us but the wait is ridiculous. We tried to make an appointment on March 2 but the next available one was on April 28! His Dr needs his results ASAP! He had no choice but to walk-in and wait for hours and he's a senior.
Got there at 2: 45, appointment was at 3: 10. Got seated at 2: 50 and finally went in at 4: 25. Almost a 2 hour wait for someone with an appointment booked, while walk-ins that came after me were done and out in 20-30 minutes. Airdrie needs another lab because this is ridiculous.
Please update your website when you are closed! Sep 30 website indicated you were opened till 4: 30. I had a specimen that needed to be dropped off with in 24 hrs. But you were closed all day! National day for Truth & Reconciliation!
Addana! Way to go above and beyond making my trip pleasant. I detest bloodwork but you were so kind and gentle which I really appreciated. Keep up your selfless effort and sunshine energy! Blessings to you and the Airdrie team.
Got some blood work done here. Booked my appointment online 2 weeks ago. Walked in. Waited in line for 4 min. Friendly reception. Sat down on a chair to wait for another 5 min. Had a friendly chap taking my blood within 5 min. In and out within 15 min.
My familY and I have been coming here since 2008, and we’ve always experienced good and friendly service from the people who work here. I’ve always had anxiety getting blood works and getting jabbed but today the lady that took my blood was exceptionally good! Her name is AKLIMA, loved how I didn’t feel anything at all! She was fast, and very skilled! So happy with my experience today, even the lady at the door, Charibel, that let us in was super friendly and nice, and very accommodating. Thanks for a wonderful experience!
Yes, longer wait time, but 'Hello, there is a pandemic going on in the world including the province of Alberta! " The personnel looks a bit tired, but they still act very professional and kind
It's a super long wait be prepared to spend 2 To 3 hours without an appt from the beginning to walking out the door. It is due to the extra Covid procedures for sure. The staff is usually fine I have been fortunate enough to have dealt with decent ladies who are good at their job, Until today. The lady at the door today needs more training. Bedside manner needs work. Some folks in specialized fields may treat people poorly because it's a service they can't do without but it's the kind ones who are the stronger exemplary bunch. I overeard a lady at the front telling another one that she doesn't have to be nice to these people! I had a day to think about it and feel this needs to be said. The people coming there don't want to be there are sick elderly etc. If you can't be compassionate and kind go work somewhere else as the people should be treated kindly When people are sick and hurting that is when they need the most compassion and kindness. For the rest of the lovely kind excellent staff I'm sorry the nasty ones are there as for the most part the ladies and gents are usually wonderful. Also Covid is causing a lot of people pain and hardship be thankful for your job and the poor people who have to come there. Treat them kindly it's its own reward. COMPASSION to all
