They are very professional, the owner knows very well his work, and they also have the best prices in Calgary. I was very satisfied of their services! Well done!
Clearly the reviews are paid for. I should have known better for falling for them but I always give the benefit of the doubt. I want to support small businesses like this and feel dirty when I buy online. But $15 for a 50¢ battery. You are allowed to make a profit. I am not upset about that. Fooling me is not okay.
Alberta Time is a great watch repair shop. Not only they do repairs, but they also carry very unique and timeless watches. I have been going to Alberta Time since it opened on the Plus 15 downtown and have known Al for 20+ years. Al is very knowledgeable and both my husband and I trusts him with our watches. Al is also very professional and he cares about his customer. He never tries to sell us something we don’t want and we appreciate that gesture. He also has reasonable rates for any watches that needs to be repaired or serviced. We also have bought many watches and clocks from Al knowing that he will always gives us a great deal. We also know that when we buy our watches or clocks from Alberta Time, it is of great quality. I highly recommend Alberta Time for all your watch repairs and service as Al will provide you with impeccable service that no one else will.
This is what customer service was all about before the "Customer Service Loops of Doom" were created. No upselling, no unnecessary repairs. Just personal, service completed in an old fashion way that was very satisfying.
They did a great job restoring my Grandfather's 1940's vintage watch, it looks amazing! You can definitely trust them with your watch restoration projects.
I have always been impressed by Al Jogia at Alberta Time Services. He is extremely professional, knowledgable and his customer service is second to none. Al is the only person I take my family’s watches to for repairs even though I live nowhere near downtown Calgary. Fast, honest and efficient are some of the reasons I have been taking my business there for the last 20 years.
So nice to see these guys stay in business for SO LONG. I get various watch batteries and some repairs done here, and the service is excellent and always friendly and professional. Keep up the great work Alberta Time Service!
Al is so knowledgeable and passionate about his trade. I took two of my watches to be serviced. One of the is a 54 years old watch the other 25 years old. Al took the time to explain the mechanics of them to me. I won’t go anywhere else to have my watches serviced. Susanne is also a sweet heart. We are very lucky to have Al to look after our valuable time pieces.
Great watch repair shop! Highly recommend as I've tried other shops but they refused to touch my watch bc the screws were too tight. This is the only place that took the time to repair the batteries and informed me about proper care for watches. They did my watch quickly within few mins. No hassle and convenient location downtown close to +15.
I called yesterday morning to see if they serviced Tissot watches as most places will not touch them? They assured me they did, so I brought three watches in to have the batteries replaced. 20 minutes later all three batteries were replaced. Great quick and friendly service. Much faster and cheaper than sending the watches back to Tissot as I did I. The past. Will use your services again.
I've been going to Alberta Time for over 2 decades and have taken all my watches there, both inexpensive and expensive watches. They stand by their work and I have only had excellent service there at a very reasonable price. I've recommended many people to them and would highly recommend them for any watch service that you need.
I took one of my inexpensive pieces there to test out the services. Heard good things from Reddit. Unfortunately, they had scratched the case back in a number of spots.
Although the scratches are minor, I wished they would have handled it with more care.
Normally I change the battery myself and this probably would have prevented any scratches. This costed $20 for a battery and some new dings. It is what it is but I would not advise taking any expensive pieces there.
Great expertise and service from Al & his team. Always helpful and responsive, great value. I can highly recommend Alberta time for all watch servicing and repairs.
Al is very knowledgeable in his craft and committed to doing excellent work! I just took in a watch in for a crown and stem replacement, with a tune-up service and I am very happy. I also brought in 3 additional watches for battery replacements after not having been worn much during COVID. He made a point of doing it all before they closed for the day so I could take all my watches home the same day! I would trust Al with your special watches. Skilled watchmakers are hard to come by and I am happy to keep coming back to Al - his downtown location is convenient, and he is kind and professional!
Fast, friendly service. Go out of my way to come here. I have had a few batteries replaced and watches serviced / repaired. They offer great value and professionalism.
Last year, I had my Omega serviced and the price was very reasonable and the service was swift.
Last month I dropped off another watch to have a part that broke off replaced and Al was very forthcoming on how much it would cost if the watch needed to be sent back to the manufacturer. Although I ended up not having the watch fixed but I really appreciated his honesty and opinion.
Fixed my 1970 SEIKO Watch for $ 175.00. OK. So now it kind of works but cannot keep time. It runs slow. So I took it back sort of after COVID. Stay tuned. I will let you know if it ever works again. D.
Avoid at all costs. Dropped off a digital watch with a rubber cuff type strap to have the battery replaced. When I went to pick it up, the back was all scratched up from their tools and they had completely ripped/torn the rubber of the strap making it unusable - must have bent it the wrong way when trying to access the back.
When I complained all they said was that I brought it like that and I owe them $20. I told them the watch was fine when I dropped it off and the band was Intact when they were initially examining it at the time of drop off.
When asked why they didn’t note the alleged preexisting damage in my presence, all they did was repeat that I owe them for the battery and that watch bands are only good for a couple of years.
I spent a lot of money on a watch here and went back to get a battery changed and was treated like a criminal. Never will buy here and recommend that you go elsewhere to buy. Rude staff / poor customer service.
Alberta Time Svc is fantastic. They are very kind and completey transparent about any prices, guarentees, or waiting times.
I recently had the crystal in my Seiko SKX007J upgraded from hardlex to sapphire and the work is flawless. Great service all around, very experienced with timepeices, I look forward to returning next time.
I have purchased several Swiss watches there at nice discounts. Also have had several vintage watches (mechanical & quartz) serviced there for reasonable prices & with quick turnaround. The owner can talk watches all day long too.
I called to inquire on watch straps for my husband's Vday gift. I had a simple question, I wanted to know if they sold black, leather watch straps, and what the prices were. I've never experienced such terrible customer service. The woman on the phone was absolutely horrible. First of all, she did not want to speak to me because the store was closing in 10 minutes (seriously!), then she proceeded to give me the most vague answers to my questions and argued with everything I said. Her attitude was just grotesque and appalling. I asked her to confirm the store name and she even had to challenge me on that point! Unbelievably bad service! I would have gone into the store tomorrow and likely would have spent about $100 on straps, but now I would rather give my money to Amazon. It's a terrible shame because if they have good products, I would never know because they alienated me even before I could step into the store. If I were you, I would shop at another store. Trust me.
