I found purchasing my gas firestove to be a wonderful experience. The knowledge Steve had was amazing! With him running this business for over 30 years … he knew his stuff! As I did my research with other fireplace stores as well as Alberta Wholesale Fireplaces I was so amazed at how much knowledge he had with any and all fireplace/stoves than all of the other businesses. His prices were very fair, reasonable and honestly better than others. Other stores seemed to want to push more expensive fireplaces and also that just might not be good for your home. Steve came out to our home and had great suggestions once we told him what we want in a firestove specifically and didn’t take advantage of us by trying to sell us something that wasn’t practical, non energy efficient and pricey. The stove selections were amazing and beautiful. I also appreciate and felt confident that Steve at Alberta Wholesale Fireplaces will always be available if I have any questions or concerns after my purchase … and I know this because I’ve had to call him and ask him some questions after the install and he didn’t push me away but rather took the time to address them until we were completely satisfied! The selection of product as well as availability were in stock or he’d get you something better and for the same price. Having spent most of my working life in the construction industry, I am well aware that mistakes can happen. What makes a contractor/supplier truly outstanding may be determined by its response to errors made in the field. Alberta Wholesale Fireplaces Ltd.did an installation of a gas fireplace (replacing a wood-burning unit) as part of a significant renovation of a house for my daughter. At the start of the cold season (long after the installation) the fireplace was acting up. AWF came out immediately and determined that the installation was faulty due to the actions of a former employee. The unit had to be replaced; repair of the existing was not possible. AWF promptly opened the wall above the fireplace and tore out the venting and firebox along with all the surrounding millwork and mosaic tile that had been installed as part of the renovation. A brand new firebox was installed. I was very pleased to have a new fireplace which was functioning properly. I expected nothing further of AWF as it had not done any of the finishing work. However, I was then asked by AWF to arrange for the drywall repair, insulation repair, painting, millwork and tile and to forward the invoice for this work. I arranged for this work using the contractors that had done the work originally and forwarded the invoice to AWF. I received acknowledgement of the invoice immediately upon submission and payment was issued the following day. This response by Steve Hallet and his service manage (JR) was stellar. There was no hesitation or attempted shirking of responsibility. I could not be more pleased. This review would not be complete without mentioning that, six years ago, AWF installed a stunning fireplace in our new home. This fireplace is the focal point of the great room and has operated without issue.

I wanted to share my experience working with Steve and his team. We purchased a woodstove and wood burning fireplace last year for our cabin from him. When we couldn’t find a local installer, Steve immediately helped us to secure someone. After our wood fireplace was installed we experienced some issues with smoke coming back into the house when the door was opened. We reported this to Steve and he immediately jumped into action to ensure we were satisfied. He had his service manager come out and review the installation and when the smoke continued, Steve invited us to come back into the showroom to select an alternative option. Steve treated us with professionalism, kindness and respect. I would highly recommend him, his team and his business.

Steve, Morgan and JR were a pleasure to deal with throughout the purchase and installation of the fireplace. Pricing was very competitive, but in addition to that, the service quality, expert knowledge of the subject matter at hand and quality of workmanship made this purchase decision an easy one for me. Would not hesitate to recommend to friends and colleagues.

Had this company install a fire place for me one year ago. Great installation (or so we thought) was done and we were very happy until we found out we didn't meet the building code because of pieces were missing with the woodstove. After final payment we had poor communication - ignored when we called, and the company would not answer emails. But the worst part is my stove was never installed correctly. I have had multiple people state it was never installed correctly, even the distance requirements on the back of the stove say it was installed too close to the wall. Do yourself a favour and avoid this company and these guys at all costs. You installed this stove wrong! I may have to remove the wood stove and chimney as there will be no way I can in good conscience sell my house to a future buyer. Terrible customer service and now we are stuck with an expensive wood stove that we cannot use.

Had this company install a fire place for me a few years ago, and nothing about the experience was professional or simple. Poor communication, being ignored in the store. Being pushed into a product I didn't want after saying multiple times I didn't like because it would have been more work for them, they finally used the product I originally asked for. But the worst part is my stove was never installed correctly. I have had multiple people tell me it was never installed correctly, even the distance requirements on the back of the stove say it's it's installed to close to the wall. They never got a permit and meet provided me with a wett inspection after asking multiple times. Do yourself a favour and avoid this company and these guys at all costs. I don't care if you installed the $100000 fire place in Rogers arena. You installed this stove wrong! I am not going to just remove the wood stove and chimney as there will be no way I can in good conscience sell my house to a future buyer.

I have not bought a fireplace from AWF. I did need to perform some service on behalf of a customer and needed parts information, for the glass specifically. JR was incredibly prompt and extremely thorough in his response to me.

I work with a lot of service providers and this experience was in my top 3 which I consider exceptional considering that my top list has businesses with whom I already have established a relationship.

Steve was excellent to deal with in getting my fireplace WETT inspected. I approached a few other inspectors, and none were remotely interested in helping me or answering my questions about the install, clearances, and code. Steve on the other hand was always responsive and helpful even before a dollar exchanged hands. When it came time to do the inspection he was fair and thorough.

Steve came out to take a look and do measurements for our new gas fireplace, we ordered our fireplace took a bit longer but do to the shipping delays it finally came in. Pleasant guys who came in to install cleaned up after them selfs that was very nice.happy with our new modern looking fire place!

We did a fireplace update removing a dated traditional fireplace with a more modern linear fireplace. Dealing with Steve was a pleasure, he helped answer all of our questions and address our concerns. Steve was down to earth, no pressure at all and had a genuine interest to help us and make sure we were happy with our decisions.

Rob who completed the install was on time, professional, took great care to protect the surroundings and cleaned up everything after they were done. A person wouldn't have known they were there. Even when we decided that we would have preferred to lower the fireplace box, explaining the situation to Steve, he stepped up, arranged to lower the unit and it was done with no fuss, the only thing Steve said is I want to ensure you folks are happy. That's going above and beyond, that's old school service a person values!

Steve and his people are friendly, knowledgable and deal honestly with people, treating them as good neighbours or valued friends.

Alberta Wholesale Fireplaces may or many not be the least expensive provider for fireplaces in Edmonton, but the level of service, the feeling of knowing your in good hands makes them the obvious best choice in my opinion and experience.
