Great food and nice coffee except that we had to ask for a replacement latte because it was so cold in the restaurant that after a few minutes the latte was cold too. There wasn't one customer who wasn't wearing their jacket while in the restaurant.

Super beau petit café, très sympathique avec une ambiance intime, la tartelette aux fruits était vraiment incroyable et le café était très bon! Le personnel est très aimable, c'est un endroit très agréable je vous conseille cet endroit

I bought desserts for myself and my daughter and plastic wrap came out of my daughter’s dessert and she almost choked on it. When I told the barista she talked to her manager and I was not given any apology (!) and only offered to BUY another dessert.

Visited on two occasions. The experience has been similar both times.

Not dog friendly. Brought a clean mat to lay on the patio furniture so that our small pooch could sit comfortably with us without dirtying the furniture. We were told dogs aren't allowed on the furniture. So then, we decided to have him sit on our lap instead. Told that he was still touching the furniture.
Strange that I've seen other people with small dogs lay on the furniture without a problem before.

Anyways, staff is rude. Coffee orders come out incorrect. Food is OK.

Go to Hutch next door. They'll appreciate your business.

The best cafe in the neighbourhood. The almond croissant is to die for, although the vanilla iced latte was not upto the mark but the breakfast sandwiches are big and heavy and so filling considering the price. Worth every dollar! The ambience is quaint and posh. The service is great too!

It's a nice place, the cakes were good but the carbonara pasta was just too salty for me. Will come again to order different dishes

The guy made sure to check whether I'm hitting yes or no to tip and then he continued with his lousy service.that's something new I've never seen lol

I found the wide mouthed coffee cups made the coffee get cold faster but overall it was a delicious good experience!

No wifi working, no power outlet available, price really high and you should not stay more than 1.5 hour.

Pizza is amazing - even without many ingredients - but pricey. I have to say I was impressed at how good it was, and would be a regular if the pizza was more competitively priced.

This will be my go to place for food and coffee. I absolutely love their pasta and pizza. Great ambience and very attentive staffs.

The coffee is good, no the best but good enough.

The brunch is great, ma family choose Benedicts, omelet, French toast and classic eggs, everything was great.

The prices are reasonable and the service is top.

I went there about 11 on a holiday and I was able to get a table right away, but seems to be very bussy, it was a lane of people waiting to be seated when I was leaving.

I had the spinach omelet cause I am in a Keto diet and I did not regret, the portions are great and it was fully of flavor.

Definitely I will come back to have some pizza and pasta in a couple of months.

Price was 119 for 5 people

Would come for their hot chocolate daily last winter, even though a 12oz is $5.20 (after taxes). Today went again for the first time in a while and their hot chocolate was just warm foam. Barely any chocolate at all. Sad to see somewhere so good lose its quality. Hopefully it was only me and other people had a good experience as I used to have.

Great atmosphere and great food. Make sure you call ahead to reserve a table as it is usually quite busy - and for good reason. Everything is delicious. I recommend the carbonara at lunch and any dessert/bread! Great place.

They have the best bread. They're incredibly friendly and this is hands down one of my favourite cafes in the city. Strongly reccomend.

Hip and casual vibe with an understated elegance! There are a few sections for eating in, including a patio. The bakery always has a huge variety of treats, from basic bread to millefeuille. The pasta is delicious and fresh and there's always a meal deal of some sort. My kids love it, too!

This place was great until I realized they are too lazy to make sandwiches to order. They ran out and its still consider lunch time. Poor planning and very dissatisfied with that kind of decision-making.

Great place to get your coffee before taking a walk to the peace bridge or the park nearby.

Their waffles and cakes are great. The drink is mediocre but the atmosphere is pretty enough to make it worth going. Do not get the iced tea as it will taste like bitter poison.

I went here for the first time last night and it was amazing! Our server was great, she was attentive and personable. The food was phenomenal, I had the chicken chorizo tagliatelle and the other girls I was with both had the mushroom truffle ravioli. Definitely going to try this place again!

This is an amazing place to have brunch. The scones reminded me of England, authentic and fluffy. Bakery is amazing. Coffee was perfect. The food is fresh, well presented and delicious. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Amazing experience here tonight for dinner! I had the Chicken Chorizo Sausage Pasta and my boyfriend had the Carbonara. Both cooked to perfection! Service was impeccable. Thanks Alforno!

Nice coffee shop with lots of tasty food and dessert choices. It was tough to pick just one thing! Close to the path, so easy to get to on foot or by bike.

Fantastic lunch! I had a sandwich and Alforno salad, soooo yummy! I'll definitely go back, it's so much more than a bakery! My friend had the Carbonara, it was amazing! It will be my new place to go when I have a craving!

Really enjoyed having brunch here on their covered, heated outdoor patio. Had a duck eggs Benedict and it was delicious. Coffee was also really good. Fair pricing for the quality of food received!

Nice and trendy looking coffee shop/ restaurant but not comfy. And unfortunately we didn't find their pastry and coffee as tasty as Hutch Cafe place just few meters away. Dishes, cakes and snacks also too expensive for their quality.

I used to like this place.

Service differs when you’re wearing a suit vs when you’re on your regular clothes. Aug 9, Monday evening around 7: 30pm, counter brunette who couldn’t wait for her shift to end was giving attitude while the other one is so young and clueless. Ordered food, mushroom soup came cold while the bucatini carbonara had too much pancetta and was too salty.

What more can you ask for - excellent food, coffee & wine, and extensive baked goods. My favourite coffee shop in town!

Good location, great selection of sandwiches or cakes, and even better and fantastic coffee. I like this place. They have small patio outside and nice sitting areas inside, washrooms are clean, and stuff is helpful and friendly?

Alforno was an unknown to me and my guest. We showed up last minute looking for a place to eat and weren't really sure about this spot to us. We gave it a shot, and glad we did.

Entry past the initial cafe/bakery style is the actual restaurant that was clean, bright, well lit, and a great spot for dates and table dining. The only thing that I didn't like was the limited seating due to plexiglass still in place for Covid restrictions, but this was not the fault of the venue.

The place is busy with a wide range of clientele including children, and the food is great. We had the octopus pasta, soup, salad, and some wine. Though nearly done our meal, the wine we chose still didn't make it to our table. I had to ask if it was coming, and the server told us she was sorry but it was sold out.it would have been nice to be told immediately so we could have made other choices. We still ordered the house wine which was good, but some sort of concession would have been in line for the time we waited, and the missed opportunity here. A mention to our server prompted no reaction, which was honestly disappointing.

Still, everything else was great, and I'd likely be back to try other menu items, and the cafe grab and go.

On exit I noticed it was owned by the Teatro Group. GREAT operators and legendary establishments.

You can not go wrong here. The coffee and food are always great, and the staff are welcoming and kind.

The pizza is a thin & crispy crust and is very light to eat. Which saves room for desserts, it is primarily a bakery and everything that is a pastry or a baked good is done extremely well and melts in your mouth. We went early 5 pm to beat the line up and it usually gets very busy and the line can take a while because it's very popular.

Amazing Cafe with whole lot of dessets and breakfast meals, really like the atmosphere, got even bigger patio for summer season, situated right in the middle of downtown, have ample parking across the street

Oh, Alforno, you really need to rethink your ice cream It's terrible! Very, very terrible. I'm a big fan of Alforno's baked goods, but the ice cream is gritty, lacking sweetness and flavour, and leaves an oily film on your tongue. So disappointing!

We had our wedding reception at this location 34 years ago. Back then it was Orestes, a Greek restaurant. So glad the building still stands and that Alforno has made it a go to destination for us when we visit Calgary. Great local spot.

Unprofessional staff and lack of respect and energy. Work on some team building events with your teams.

I love this place for the decor, coffee and good food. However, the service is lacking. I frequent this place 2-3 times a week mostly for coffee meetings but also for brunch with my family etc. The staff still never recognize me and past incidents where I emailed the establishment never were responded to. Service can be a hit and miss with frequently untrained and unapologetic staff. If it continues I will have to find a new regular place.

Got a wide variety of dessert to choose from, but they’re not that good. It’s overpriced for something that’s just pretty ok.

It’s pretty disappointing to me as I liked Alforno and recommended this place to my friends. Went there and left feeling disappointed.

Excellent bakery/restaurant in Eau Claire. Very busy during peak hours so give yourself time to order and find a seat. Otherwise a great place to pick up food to go or take on a picnic.

Absolutely amazing bakery and lunch shop. I love the upscale, yet extremely casual atmosphere. All of their food is amazing and crave able.

It's a hit or miss with customer service. Some days I go the customer service is really good. Some days it's almost like they ignore you. The place is beautiful and large selection of baked goods!

I love this place. Cheesecake is kind of rare but it’s good. Good mood:) I think will visit often.

I want to love this place. I’ve tried all but one of the Teatro group’s restaurants and loved them all. I’d go so far to say they’re my favourite restaurants/cafes in Calgary.all except this one. The Location is great, the atmosphere is European, and the decor is awesome. I have coffee here every month, and I’m quite pleased with it. Usually quick and consistently good. However, every year I get the courage to try the food here, aaaaaand I am consistently let down: (It always looks amazing, but tastes like cardboard. So if you’ve looking for coffee and a little dessert, definitely recommend. If you’re looking for food, go elsewhere.

The atmosphere is very casual and well lit with natural light. The staff are all super friendly and the food is mouth watering. I had the mushroom and brie egg benedict with the chai latte, finishing off with a mocha chococlate cake. Everything tasted like it was made with care. Really recommend it here:)

Beautiful interior, decent espresso and great muffin even though I was in at the very end of the day. The staff were genuinely wonderful and I got exceptional service!

Cakes are extremely small and overpriced and taste horrible. Would not recommend. This is probably the only honest review you will find

The interior of the restaurant is wonderful. It was bright and not too loud. I plan on revisiting to try more of their desserts.

Coffee and croissant were the best but poor manner. If breakfast orders were due in 3minutes, you should have told us earlier. 3minutes after we were thinking, the tall guy with glasses just took our menu and changed it to regular menu. Because I didn’t want to ruin our anniversary, I ordered others putting up with anger. You probably thought we were just naive asians but you know what, at least we tried to understand that situation with smile when you acted like a racist. So are you proud of being a racist? Canadian?

Food is very good. Environment looks fancy and cool, but it's not really because the service is all weird; no direction from anyone when you walk in, sometimes there is table service, but who really knows? Order you espresso drink and either get a number, wait awkwardly near the entrance, and be essentially forced to stand because there's like five stools, or get it from the coffee bar far away in the corner, or just walk around aimlessly and pray to God you get your caffeine at some point ;) go for it though. Also, strangely enough, the staff seems a tad aloof, or sedated.
