Aloft Calgary University

The room is small and the queen size bed is definitely not a queen size but more of a double bed size. The strong masculine musty scent of the provided shampoo/conditioner/body wash is a bit off putting.

The breakfast bar was ok, but more options for those that cannot eat eggs would be handy.

Other than that so far the hotel has been decent.

Pros: underground parking, reasonable rates, has a pool, has a lot of food options on site for purchase.

Cons: no microwaves in the rooms, the shower drain barely drained, bathroom door doesn’t lock, and small rooms

Stayed there for 2 nights and the kids loved it. The hotel is a hidden gem if you wish to stay close to Calgary Downtown. Once you enter the hotel, staff will greet you with a big smile! Great customer service! The staff and FOM was always super helpful and kind. The pool area looked awesome but did not get a chance to plunge in due to cold weather, however the water was warm. There was a pool table in the lobby which is a nice time pass if you feel bored inside the room.
The morning buffet breakfast was exceptional. As always the beds were relaxing and the shower products were great. Option for underground parking which is a relief in snow.
Highly recommended!

We came down as a team to play in a sledge hockey tournament, booking 7 rooms in total, 3 accessible and 4 regular rooms. Upon arrival, we find out that the "morning staff" had booked our accessible rooms to other people, that we had booked weeks prior to this weekends engagement. This is absolutely unacceptable service!

Amazing soft beds, clean, pool was soooooo warm, breakfast open till 10 and my kid was happy, lots of choices, checkout at noon is the norm, can’t say enough great things. Quiet room, quick access the Alberta children’s hospital. Funky decor. Loved our one night stay.

Myself and my plus 1 went for a paintnite in the lounge area the only 2 things I would say is that the lighting for a paintnite was to low to paint! And there atm was broken so other than that it was a fun venue to go to and the host for our paintnite was fun and entertaining overall was a great time,

Great hotel! Staff is friendly and caring. Love the breakfast in the morning! Easy location to the hospital.

First time staying here, room was nice, staff were friendly.
I get migraines and scent is a trigger, there was a scent used in the room & lobby area, it didnt set my migraine off but could've.
Also a bit of a maze to find my room and the elevator when I was leaving.
Other than that it was good, I really appreciated the parkade at -25.

Stayed here after having a horrific experience at ramada limited next door.this place is 100x cleaner.happy with my stay!

All the Staff were very friendly and Accomodating. Manager Giovanni was the most approachable person I have met. Mohit at the front desk was always ready to help.
Will definitely be back.

Great hotel and friendly staff. They have a a nice breakfast and are very pet friendly. This is my two shih tzus favourite hotel!

Wxyz bar had great service, especially violin he went above and beyond to provide the best service

It's just a really nice place great atmosphere really good free breakfast with the room nice stand up showers obviously great management and service even comfortable pillows decent.

Would not recommend this hotel.
I will credit the check-in staff as being very friendly, however that's about all I can say was good about the experience.
Impossible to find parking, did not feel comfortable in the evening parking in a dark lot so far from the hotels entrance with many shady characters hanging outside of the main entrance.
My room was on the main floor, with a direct view of the parking lot (& I was lucky to hear parties arrive back around 4am and hang outside of my window yelling for about an hour).

The complimentary products in the room were clearly used (the lotion had the cap open) and upon opening the soap, it was dyed pink and had dirt on it (gross).

Didn't feel comfortable whatsoever at the hotel, it's charming but not a great place for a single traveller in my opinion.

A nice, clean, updated hotel. Have various amenities, and close location to UOC.
The only drawback, (or advantage) it’s located next to the city train stop. You feel the hotel trembles as train passes from early mornings to late night. So if possible try to ask for rooms away from East section. Otherwise it’s the best hotel compared to other nearby

Our room was on the first floor and it was very, I mean VERY humid. They also charge an absurd amount for incidentals, unlike the majority of other hotels.
Additionally, I believe this hotel is pet friendly and found many different hairs in our room, getting on our clothes. Last, beware if you book your hotel through a third party, they will still charge you.

The roon is decent. The breakfast was really bad, food taste terrible and no selection. This is surprising consider it is a Marriott chain.

Pros:
-Fast wifi
-Great lobby atmosphere (music, pool table and the vibes just felt good)
-Friendly staff all-around
-Breakfast provided in the morning

Cons:
-No in-suite microwave, instead a communal microwave by the elevators on each floor
-No door locks for the in-suite bathroom doors
-Decent sized pool, no hot tub

Clean room with nice amenities, helpful staff, comfortable lounge area, good breakfast, convenient access to metro, decided to stay an extra day.

Very nice hotel! Location is great just minutes from the foothills hospital, and you can walk to the stampeders game! Right next to the c train so you can get around.

The only downfall we had was there was no hot tub in the pool area and we really like to hot tub and relax in the evening.

The lounge was great the food was very good. We had the pizza it was enough to feed 4 people for 17 bucks!

Underground parking is so handy and makes it very safe. The staff are very friendly and the house keeping was great.

Everything you would expect from a Aloft. A modern hotel on a more decent budget. Great amenities, the pool space is fantastic. Average gym, nice bar and a pretty decent hot breakfast buffet. The rooms are spacious and very clean, even comes with a complimentary bottle of water. The TV was fuzzy and getting around the hotel to find the room can be a little confusing, the hallways can get pretty tight.

Ok breakfast and underground parking. But overall hotel is dark, stuffy and kinda depressing. Room wasn't very clean, and there is a gap under the door which results in you hearing everything in the hallway. This place is more rundown than the average marriott hotel.

We love this hotel! The rooms are great, the beds extremely comfortable, they have blackout blinds on the windows (which we truly appreciate) and the included hot breakfast buffet is delicious! It’s our go to for many visits to Calgary!

Location is close to the University. The best part was the service. I arrived early and my room was not ready. The front desk immediately offered and took my luggage for storage. My room had a problem with the AC unit and staff were immediately dispatched to investigate and fix it. While they were trying to figure out what was going on fox it the front desk manager showed up with keys for another room. Congratulations to the staff for showing you care.

What an awesome hotel and wonderful staff! They went above and beyond for our group of 25 and took care of us for 6 days where it felt like a second home. Giovanni and crew go the extra mile for their patrons. Would def stay again
