Alpine Veterinary Clinic ( Not 24 hours-See Alpine 24/7 on 57th Ave & MacLeod)

AMAZING AND COMPASSIONATE STAFF AT ALPINE! Our experience with Alpine was one of relief and extreme gratitude. We had to rush our little dachshund (Chweenie) senior dog 'Max' in the middle of the night to a vet and found Alpine was the only vet available at the time. Our dog was having issues breathing and lots of coughing etc. Despite having to rush from the far west end, the ladies at Alpine were very accommodating and prompt in dealing with Max. He received x-rays and ultimately decided on additional medication to the meds he was already taking at the time for lungs, heart and deteriorating kidneys. This was our last attempt to try and give Max the very best for what life was remaining for him. Max's symptoms stabilized, was breathing better and we went home and rested afterwards. The care and concern of the vet and ladies at Alpine was incredible, to the point where it eased my stress and brought me to tears. I was actually believing that I was not going home with my dog that very early morning. Instead, we went home together and Max lived for another 4 weeks exact when the symptoms came back and the medications were no longer effective. We lost Max but were grateful to have given him all we could to make his life as long and healthy as positive, even if it was another 4 weeks. Alpine made that happen. They even took the extra initiative and communicated with our regular vet at Richmond Rd with an update on what happened and what medications were prescribed for Max; something we never expected and were so grateful for doing that. They care, they are passionate about pets and prices are reasonable considering the sacrifices we make for our loved fur babies. Thank you Alpine for your efforts and saving Max's life, even though it was only for another 28 days. I highly recommend Alpine Vet staff to anyone looking for a reliable and caring team to look after your fur baby/babies.

Highly recommend Alpine Vet, they are super friendly and amazing. Even when my tuxedo had to go over the rainbow bridge they were amazing and compassionate, and helped with explaining everything despite what was happening.

We were recommended by our local vets in Langdon to Alpine as our cat Max was needing 24 hour care for serious constipation issues. We brought Max in and Dr. Katz was our primary vet along with Dr. Nelson and many wonderful staff. Max had 6 days in their care with regular communication on his progress and decline. In the end, we had to let our awesome kitty go peacefully to sleep. Again, Dr Katz and staff, were kind, informative and supportive at this difficult time. We recommend them and would pick them again.

Dr. Tatiana is excellent, but the receptionist's services are not good. When you get there, prepared to wait. Also, I had problems with the booking. They forgot to book my appointment.

Awesome veterinarian and lovely staff. They got my cat in immediately and even took a few extra calls after our visit. They were happy to continue to be there for support and to answer any follow up questions. Highly recommend this vet.

The vet there is amazing. My dog hurt his back several years ago, if it wasn't for them, I don't think he would have recovered as well.

I came here on a Saturday evening after coming home to finding my dogs face swelled up. They were very accommodating and welcoming and my dog loved the vet. Everything was immediately addressed, sent me home with pain med and antibiotics, and reasonable pricing for an emergency. I definitely would recommend this place.

Even late in the evening after my cat had accidentally ingested something he shouldn't have, they were able to provide quick and reliable service and put me at ease. The staff were super efficient and kind and I absolutely feel comforted knowing there's such a great emergency location available in the area. He's home and looking great:)

If I could give less than one start, I would! Your pet passes away, the urn is returned to Alpine after cremation and NO ONE calls you.after a day had gone by, all I got were excuses "it just got here" "I was just going to call you". THE WORST customer service! THIS is exactly why we stopped using Alpine as our regular veterinary clinic. I will continue to post this across social media until someone from Alpine has the decency to call me.

I will not take any pet here again. I brought my cat in for constipation and she ended up having to stay for 2 nights. I was told I would receive updates in the mornings and evenings. I got 1 phone call. I had to call and ask for updates every other time. She ended up having the same issue a few weeks after she was released. So I brought her back in. Only to find out that the clinic the 1st time had medication there that she was suppose to be taking to prevent this from happening again. But no one bothered to call and let me know she had anything there to pick up. So that cost me an extra $500 that I should never have had to spend. My next issue with them was trying to get refills for her medication.i was never told they needed at least 48 hours to fill a prescription. So I called when she had a days worth left and no one bothered to tell me on the phone when I called to refill that it would take this long. So 24 hours laster I call wondering why it hasn't been filled and I'm told it takes this long. Would have been good to know up front. This latest time I didn't realize I only had a days worth so I called before 7am to get this filled. I was specifically asked if I had enough for 48 hours and I said no. The person on the phone said no problem I can get this filled in the next 24hrs and we will give you a call. Now 36hrs later I had to call to ask if it's been filled and I'm told it'll take 48 hours. Why ask if I can make it 48hrs when you have no intention on doing anything different. And when I said this I'm told well they shouldn't have said anything like that. If you want reliable consistent information, don't take your pet here.

Update: your response is garbage were are my cats paw prints, no one is giving me answers!
You say its actions on another company which is a lie there is a dispute and your bot resolving the issue your blaming others.

We lost our Cat November 2,2021, we purchased paw prints from there location as our last memory. On Novembre 3 we got a call that her paw print were ready so i rushed over there it turns out it was just her death certificate they told me the prints would be in a few months. Fast forward end of February i had not heard from the clinic about her paw prints being ready. After calling multiple times and getting the run around and promises of calls back i finally got ahold of someone that new what was going on. She told me there was a dispute going on between them and the company that makes the prints she said the prints have not been done and i can have a refund, i was also told the company is withholding other peoples prints because of this dispute. After 4 months no one had called me to tell me they never did my paw prints and all the girl on the phone said was its bot there problem! This was the only thing i had left of my cat after 13 years with her and all you can say is come get a refund, disgusting customer service. They also took my money and other customers money knowing we would not get our prints hoping people would forget. This company has caused us heartbreak all over again and the pain they are causing others is disgusting.

Vet was fantastic. But, when I went into pay an outstanding bill the staff (2 of them at the front) were basically laughing at me. You're going to be rude to me over 80 dollars?

Super unimpressed and even though the vet was good I'm not going back to this clinic even though it's close.

Clean modern facility. Staff are excellent, very professional, warm, and cordial. Dr. Pinel and his team took great care of my best friend for his double lump removal. He called and answered every question I had, offered solutions, and created reasonable expectations. This place provided peace of mind to my canine companion and myself during a very uncertain and scary time. They have a decent retail as well, offering special foods, care items, and other things you find at a vet office. The location is easy to find and parking is close and accessible.

The staff here are awful. They won't give us our cats paw prints and the manager won't return our calls. Staff are rude and not caring of how devastating this issue is.please do not bring your pet here they don't care about your pets once they pass away.the staff treat you like garbage. They took our money for paw print and didn't have the courtesy to tell us we will never get them and kept our money.

Dr. Katz provided the Best care for our dog. We brought her in when she was very ill. He was so personable, and knowledgable. We were very upset and he made us feel assured and confident in his skills. He went over and above! Dr. Katz called us to let us know he was going into surgery. He called us as soon as he was done and let us know she made it through the surgery and was doing well. We were given the option to take her home or let her stay the night to recover. The next morning he called again to update us on her recovery. I have and will continue to recommend this AMAZING team to everyone I know with pets! We can not Thank you enough!

Absolutely amazing dr. Katz is an amazing man he's caring and he loves to work with reproductive stuff with animals he did an amazing C-section today for us all the babies are good mama is good it's convenient it's clean the staff is wonderful and I will continue to send people there. I'm a French Bulldog breeder and we are always looking for good care for our dogs and our babies can't recommend this place more and they are a 24-hour emergency hospital.

I took my pet here after he ate rodenticide and they stabilized him. However, without lot of explanation, they told me to pick him up and take him to VCA at 1am. They didn't share test results or information from Poison Control with the second vet, which delayed further treatment by a few hours and resulted in me paying for certain tests twice. I think they may have had no staff, as no one answered the phone when I called, or when the secondary vet called.

They're okay. I'd just go to VCA next time. (also, yes, my dog lived to continue to eat things he shouldn't)

Dr. Pinel and his staff are amazing and they genuinely care about you and your pet. After being referred to him because my kitten needed surgery, he was sure to outline my options in great detail being sure to include all long term effects and how these would impact my kitten’s quality of life. I appreciated his honesty so much because the hardest thing you have to do is decide on a life altering surgery for your fur baby. He supported me immensely in that decision and Dr. Pinel, if you see this, thank you so much, Beau is doing well so far, and you were right, he is already up and walking around and trying to get into things again lol. You should all feel very comfortable bringing your pet to Alpine 24/7. They all treat your pet like their own <3

I brought in my cat to have him taken care of and when I arrived at the location I was immediately told I had to wear a mask. I explained that I have a medical exemption and was more than happy to show it to the staff at the location but was refused. They stated that it was company policy and to protect the children of staff that worked there. I accepted this well and stayed away from the location while they took care of him as I was finally given that option once i asked her to call the closest vet for me and make sure I was allowed service with an exemption. However what really upset me is that while I was waiting outside another receptionist inside was walking around without a mask. It is highly UNPROFESSIONAL and HYPOCRITICAL to demand that someone wear a mask or leave the building even when they have medical exemption due to a disability yet you will allow your staff to break the rules you supposedly hold so dear.

I brought my dog Bandit in a couple of weeks ago on a Sunday as my regular Vet clinic was closed. I was really worried about him as he was so lethargic and just not himself. The experience I had at Alpine (my first time there) was really great. I felt every staff member I encountered was kind and caring. I saw Dr. Zhao and he is an outstanding Vet. He really listened to my concerns. We discussed all of Bandits symptoms and we discussed some tests. Dr. Zhao was upfront about the cost which I really appreciated. I felt I was a partner in Bandits care. After the tests were complete, Dr. Zhao went over everything with me and I received a copy of all of the lab work. We were given some meds. The nurse came in and went over the meds and Bandits care very thoroughly and I left feeling that we had been well taken care of. By the next day, Bandit had improved. Dr. Zhao took the time to call me the next day to check on Bandit's progress. I am sure he is very busy and I so appreciated getting that follow up call. Bandit continued to improve and a few days later, the staff called one last time to check on us which is remarkable. Bandit is back to his old self now and I would certainly go back to Alpine again if I have any problems in the future (I have 2 dogs) and I really appreciate everything that was done for Bandit and myself.

I had a scare with my dog last week. To say the service and care here was amazing would be an understatement. They were calm and kind and thorough even though they were managing a lot of patients at once. I felt like my dog was not only cared for but that the staff could feel how nervous we both were, and really made us both feel like everything was going to be ok. Having a pet in an emergency isn't fun, but dealing with the staff at Alpine was definitely the silver lining to a terrible experience. THANK YOU for not just treating my Penny like a number, we truly appreciate everything you did for us!

They are really bad. I had my cat got fixed there, they cut his nails without telling me and after his surgery asked me to take him as quickly as possible even though I told them that I am working and they assured me that it is fine and I can drop him there and take him at 5pm. But they call me around 2 and wanted me take him as he is getting very nervous. When I took him, I saw they cut his nails so short that it has been beeliding. I really regret taking my cat there.

I had my best friend of 19yrs cremated here. They were so gentle with me, and so kind. And they even included a note from the staff when I came to pick up his blanket and paw print. I am so grateful that they helped make the process easier, and for the kindness of the staff in general. Stone-Jackson was treated with respect and love.

Absolutely the best, My dog was vomiting pure blood I was at the VCA emergency first who's prices are unbelievable. They did a quick assesment and wanted $4800 for the care my dog needed. While I was in the parking lot trying to figure out how I am going to pay to get my dog the care she needed someone said to call the Alpine clinic. Needless to say I did and transfered my dog to their hospital immediately. The vet himself came out to speak with me. To ask the question and after giving her immediate triage and get her comfortable he came back out tell me what my dog would need to have done. Finally came the estimate of what it would cost (the same exact treatment for less then half the price that the VCA was charging). (My final bill including food and medication out of hospital $1600) And on top of that I felt so much better because it felt like they cared if my dog came home with me after to
Treatment. After she was admitted for her stay to get her care. They phoned me every couple hours to keep me informed.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE GREAT CARE OF MY FUR-BABY. I CAN GAURENTEE THATS WHERE ALL MY PETS WILL BE GOING FROM NOW ON.

I was incredibly impressed by the service at Alpine Veterinary Clinic. I had to take my dog in, after hours to have a laceration on his ear stitched up. They were quick, efficient, incredibly friendly and cost effective.

Best vet hospital around. Amazing, kind, loving, invested, compassionate, positive. Our dog Gus ate a dish rag and needed surgery to have it removed. So much damage happened to his intestines from the rag that we weren't sure he would survive. But with the help and love from every single person at Alpine vet he managed to pull through after a very long week in hospital. It is a calm and loving environment not only for the pets and their owners but for everyone who works there. They all work tirelessly to make sure your pet has the best care it can get. Beyond appreciative for what they did for my family and Gus.

I recently moved back to Calgary and needed to find a new vet for my epileptic dog. I brought him in to get him all set up and we did blood work etc to see where we were starting at. I have to say some of the staff were extremely friendly, others not so much. Making comments about how a dog had just died, so clients could hear. Fast forward a day, he started having more seizures the following morning. I called and was placed on hold for 10 minutes. The vet took 3 hours to get back to me. Later that night he stopped breathing. I called there immediately and explained my dog was having a hard time breathing and had stopped breathing. I was told “we’re too busy and won’t be able to see him, you’ll have to go somewhere else” I am absolutely appalled by the response I received from what is supposed to be a 24 hour emergency vet. I sat there doing compressions on my dog myself trying to figure out how I was supposed to do this. My dog ended up passing away the following day.

The staff at Alpine Veterinary Clinic was very good and compassionate as our pet was very sick with cancer. They showed a great deal of compassion for Us and our pet.

I want to send a big thank you to the staff at Alpine! When my cat developed an abscess on his side, I found the staff to be caring, efficient, very accommodating, and the fees were low. They really cared about my cat and the quality of service they provided, even though they were obviously very busy. I definitely recommend this clinic!

I had an amazing experience at Alpine!
It started off as an extremely stressful experience with my dog so sick she wouldn't eat and couldn't stop throwing up. I couldn't afford the prices at the C. A. R. E.centre so they transfered me to alpine and Nova was in right away when I was transfered. They are so reasonably priced, for 2 nights of hospitalization I only paid $1800, when just one night at the care center was $3000.
Dr. Dan was so so helpful and kept me informed the whole time she was there. Thank you for taking care of my little piggie!

Caring, professional, did an excellent job on what was needed, priced very reasonable and competitively. Best place we have found in a pinch, and will now attend regularly. A gem.

I am so thankful they saved our baby girl, they took her right in and quoted us a price that was more affordable. Our vet was more than amazing! He came out and talked to us! Explained the risk, put us at ease. He even called us before and after the surgery. Amazing care. I would highly recommend him to everyone! Thank you isn't enough.

Our cat was seen at this facility one evening and the vet did not do any blood work. If he had, the result would have shown him the cat was very sick. $700.00 bill for that visit. Next day the cat was having trouble breathing. Return visit - cat had to be euthanized but only after a plethora of expensive tests that should have been done in the first place. $1,000.00 for that visit. So $1,700.00 for one dead cat. When I returned to pick up the cremains, I brought in all of the unnecessary medication. I asked for a refund. The receptionist with the green hair took the medication and told me that she would not give me a refund for one of the medications. I asked her to give it back to me as I had paid for it and it belonged to me. She refused and said that I could not take MY PROPERTY back. The greed that governs this clinic's actions astounds me. I hope that somehow they will learn how much bad publicity I will generate because of their greed. If they can pay 5 full time receptionists and pay for the fancy building, surely they can afford to refund me $47.16. Our circumstances are very dire and that $1,700.00 we paid means meagre meals for us for quite some time. I will tell my friends about this treatment and they will tell their friends and so on and so on. I would give zero stars if I could. Please do not contribute to this cash grab clinic.

I called at 5 am concerned that my cat was choking and the vet that I spoke with was so amazing. She even called back an hour later to double check that my cat was okay… amazing service!

We brought our dog into this clinic today and I'm really disappointed. Our old vet moved and we were looking for a new vet. I made an appointment and the lady who took my call was very nice. Fast forward to today and we drop our dog off. I speak to a lady on the phone and we go over our dogs whole medical history and the reason for our visit. We must have talked for like 10 minutes. We then wait in the parking lot for a phone call as we were instructed. 30 minutes pass, then 45, an hour etc. No phone calls or news. I'm getting concerned because we have seen people who came after us drop off their dogs and pick them up. Finally at the 1hr and 30 minute mark, a man from the clinic approached our car and asked what we were doing there. Keep in mind we are parked right out front in one of the marked parking stalls. We explain we had an appointment and have been waiting. He says he will go find our dog. He comes out a few minutes later and I realize he is one of the vets. (He never told us his name). We go over the whole medical history a second time and he is writing notes on a blank piece of paper. I ask where my dog has been. He says he was in a room by himself. I feel like we were forgotten about and I don't think my dog should be left like that for so long. This was a negative experience and I don't think we will be going back to this clinic.

I went to fish creek and was treated with compassion and surgery was booked for the next day.
I have always used fish creek and only went to alpine because it was closer. Never again

Please stay away. Go to Fishcreek instead. They had my dog in there 2 days in a row, ran tests, came up with nothing. Sent my very sick dog home with no answers. We left it for a few days to see if he would recover and he got worse. Now we are sitting at Fishcreek hoping our poor dog makes it. Just TERRIBLE. Horrible communication. Horrible listening skills. Please stay away.

My dog is in severe pain and they decided to tell me this is not an emergency. The receptionist made the decision that my dog can wait to be seen.

My dog got stung for a bee today. They did not let me in with my dog, because of Covid protocols, however we maintained communication through the phone with assistants and Vet. The prices were reasonable. I would definitely use their services again and I recommend this clinic. The staff were attentive and nice, and the most important Blacky feels better now!:)

These folks are so helpful. Everytime we've has an urgent issue with our dog, they've been so great at getting her in fast and giving us the best, most cost-efficient options.

This place is beyond awesome. This is the second time taking but took my other dog this time. First time my small dog had an emergency, they were so kind from the moment we called, to when we showed up even this second time around. Our normal vet is ridiculous they told us our dog needs a muzzle. He has anxiety and well when we showed up today they were so kind to him he ended up not showing anxiety at all. So yes it depends on the vet not the dog because it makes a world of a difference. I am now a customer for life. Thank you so much Alpine and all the staff. Keep up the amazing work.

Unfortunately, it has taken me a month to write this review as we lost our family dog of 11.5 years recently. We come from the North side of Calgary, our family vet advised we needed to get to an emergency, we called the list we were given, and Alpine seemed at the time to be the most helpful, or so we thought. We got there, we were told 2 hours wait. (We got there at 4: 00) We parked right out front gave out information along with our dogs information, also vehicle info. Not one vet tech came out to examine our dog, for the level of EMERGENCY it was, she was retaining fluid in her back legs, hardly could walk within a 24 hour period, we felt it was a VERY big emergency. I called after 2hrs and 45mins waiting, they advised they had 2 emergencies that bumped us in a higher wait time, it would at least be anthor hour wait. (Could you please update this and advise your clients they are going to have to wait longer, this was FUSTRATING) I then asked them to cancel as my dog was getting worse in a small time frame, we called McKnight Vet off Edmonton trail as we live 5 mins from there, they had our dog in within 5 mins getting there, did our phone exchange, exams that needed to be done. Unfortunately, a couple days later and pain management we had to say goodbye to our family pet.

I would NOT recommend coming to your location, as it was a poor experience, kept patient as we understand COVID regulations, etc. It was the lack of caring over the phone, the staff that did answer blamed the few times I was hung up on after waiting 2hours and 45mins that you guys got new phone systems. The Empathy for our situation was heart breaking.

We cannot put into words how grateful we are for Dr Karagic and the team at Alpine Pet Hospital. It is never an enjoyable experience taking your fur baby into the doctor but the team went above and beyond to ensure she had the best care. They were kind, honest, empathetic and warm. We could not have asked for a better doctor to guide us through a very difficult time. Thank you for being a truly remarkable person.

I came to this practice from another practice where I knew all the doctors and techs. I was very apprehensive about letting a new team of people treat my animal. Because of this I've been a pretty difficult client. Most of the team at Alpine hasn't batted an eye at my advocacy for my animal's health. They've been warm and welcoming, they've explained things well and they managed to keep the cost of my visit to the lower end of their initial quote. I've spent lots of my life around veterinarians and I'm thoroughly impressed with this operation.

I took my cat here due to a sudden change in bathroom patterns. I was concerned because of the new covid 19 rules and not being able to go in with my pet. My mind was quickly changed with how friendly the staff was. They listened to what I noticed was happening and quickly treated her, it's been 4 days since taking her and all her issues have cleared up! I was surprised bringing her home as she was actually extremely happy, we usually get the silent treatment and the full on do not touch me attitude when she's forced to go to the vet but this time she was super happy!

My pup ate a grape - not good for dogs. Other Vet Hospitals, when told, said it was not good situation and then said they were too busy and I should contact someone else. Thanks for nothing! Alpine classed it as an emergency and said they would see her right away / bring her in. I am so thankful for how responsive they were and professional in treating the situation. Will definitely go back.

I took my 10 year rescue in with a possible back/ leg injury. I let the front desk know that he will have to be muzzled if he goes in without me as he is unpredictable with vets, especially when in pain. The vet came out and talked to me outside. She asked me to move my dogs limbs around which I was able to do just fine. She said she would take him in for an examination and do blood work if he needed pain killers (does any human out there get blood work when they get a pain killer for a back injury?). I asked if I could come in; no due to covid. I said he will need a muzzle. She disregarded this and told me to walk him through the first doors at which time she would take over. I followed her instructions. She came out 5 minutes later and accusatorially told me that my dog bit her twice. She handed me his leash and told me to go somewhere else. Has this place even worked with dogs before? I would not suggest bringing your pet here as the welfare of the animal is clearly not priority and they don’t seem to know how to work with a hurt/ rescue dog. Also I’m confused as to why they advertise themselves as an animal hospital when they literally turned me away at the front door. Also, I understand it is covid, but restaurants, libraries, schools, personal grooming places are all open and vets are not? Why would we not be able to go in with our fur babies to ease the anxiety and support them through a traumatic event.

I brought my little family down to the vet and everyone took great care of me! I am super pleased with the service this vet provides. They go above and beyond for everyone. Great location, staff was awesome, we brought our beloved Kennedy in who was sick and bloated, and we thought we were going to lose him. The Vet assured us everything would be fine, and he’s back to feeling himself, we would certainly recommend this facility.

Dr. Karagic is the consummate professional. We trust his care and advice explicitly. He not only treats our pets incredibly well but helps the whole family understand care options, procedures and genuinely answers all of our questions. We highly recommend him and Alpine Pet Hospital!

I love this place! The staff are friendly, helpful and it’s locally owned! It’s the only 24 hour hospital in the city that is. I prefer to support local and not a big corporation.

Dr. Dan Katz has been our dogs' vet for a few years now and he's absolutely amazing. We switched from Fish Creek to Alpine 24/7 when he moved, so as not to lose him as their doctor. The dogs love him and he very clearly understands canine temperaments; his "bedside manner" with the dogs is wonderful and they actually Iike going to the vet to see him! He's knowledgeable, and when there's something he doesn't have an answer for, he'll tell you and then find the answer, either by referral or looking into things himself. If all vets (and even some human physicians) were more like Dan, the world would be a better place!

Dr Sasa was really good! I havent had a puppy in 16years and had some beginner questions for him and he answered them all.

They were absolutely wonderful. And took amazing care of my baby boy during his neuter surgery today! I give a well deserved 5

I took my cat into the Alpine vet clinic today with a sore leg under much hesitation because they have a closed door policy due to covid-19 and let's face it who wants to just trust anyone with a family members health? Just as hard as it would be to do that with a child it makes it just as hard to do with a pet of many years. Dr Sasa was the vet who looked at my cat and it was very comforting to know that he kept my cat's best interest in mind and my pocketbook in mind and didn't do unnecessary x-rays, but instead gave us some medications for my cat to see if that rectifies the problem before investigating the problem further and costing a whole lot more money.
