Altitude Flight Simulation

Been here twice to try the 737 experience. The first time was 1 year ago and the experience was amazing. The staff was very professional and demonstrated a deep understanding of the 737. He always showed a positive attitude and was super friendly.

However, I recently visited again to try the 737 and the experience was a absolute disaster. They got new staff and was very unprofessional and been “trolling” around. One of the staff (Braden I think) was constantly flickering random buttons that causes trim problems and rudder problems. This caused the rudders to be disabled during the landing process. Though out the entire experience, he was always either messing around with the control panel or the overhead panel. It was very annoying and considering I paid $150; it is completely unacceptable.

They should give their staff more training and know that messing around with co workers when they are servicing a customer is completely unacceptable. Imagine a waiter taking your order and their co-worker comes and scribble all over their notes. I don’t know if the waiter is gonna be mad, but the customer will be furious.

I HIGHLY don’t recommend this place until they fix this issue.

I purchased and hour for us in the Boeing 737 as a birthday gift for my fella. We had seen the place lots of times when we were in the neighborhood, and always wondered what it would be like. We went yesterday and I can confidently say, the gift was a hit.we, him especially, really enjoyed it. Because it was his gift he was the Pilot the whole time and I was the monitoring pilot. It was his birthday after all. I didn't do much as the Monitoring pilot, but it was great fun to watch him. We landed a plane at LaGuardia once, crashed into a hillside once, landed on the Hudson River once (like Sully!) and landed back at the Calgary airport to finish it off. It really did feel like we were moving. The takeoff experience especially. Loved it. And I can assure my nephew, who is a pilot at AC, has nothing to fear from us. His job is safe! LOL

Highly recommend it if you are looking for something a bit different to do.

We booked a two hour flight on the 737. It was an amazing time. They walked us through the entire flights. Very professional crew. I highly recommend

All the people were very helpful, from booking it to all the way through my first flight. Explained everything well and helped during the flight, with dog fights to make it more fun. Was given the experience as a gift, and it was fantastic.

Being a pilot was always a dream of mine. Wish I would have done it instead of the career route I took. I was gifted 30 minutes with the 737 and it did not disappoint. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to be in the cockpit and how it works, this is a great introduction!

Bar none, this is hands-down the best aviation entertainment out there!

Ryland is PHENOMENAL! My kid's 15th bday with his buddies and they got to fly the Super Hornet - Major Mission. 100% worth every.single.penny!

Did the f-18 simulation and I'll be honest, it was quite boring. It was a gift and I was pretty stoked but it was just generally an expensive let down. The staff were friendly enough but I was really not sure what to do or try and was given very little direction on what would be a fun experience. The cockpit is pretty impressive but the screen is quite dim and far enough away that it just looks like a screen and the sound is almost nonexistent and there was zero mission control type of sounds. There is no motion or haptic feedback. Overall not immersive at all. Just flying aimlessly around releasing missiles at yellow dots with no feedback.

Had a great time on the F18 simulator. Employees are super kind, knowledgeable and friendly. As a total newbie they made the experience well worth it. I’ll definitely be back to fulfil my top gun dreams

Fantastic experience! Did the 90 minute session in a F-18. The instructor was very knowledgeable, answered all my questions, and added/tweaked scenarios to my interests.

I’ll be back again!

Had such a great time this past weekend dog fighting with my husband & son. The staff took the time to show us around and answer all our questions. When it came time to learn how to fly the F-18 - I wish there was a video specific to dog fighting and how to track our enemies. Other than that it was a blast. 60 mins was not enough time - I should have booked a min.if 90 mins.

Experienced the B737 simulation twice. Once as the co-pilot, the second as the pilot. Great experience both times with an actual pilot explaining the intricacies of the procedures. They were able to accommodate a different flight from their standard ones when all of the information is provided. Will do it again in a heartbeat.

I brought my father for a spin in the 737! It was a blast and the staff were incredibly knowledgeable and helpful! We will be returning!

We rented the F18 simulators and had a blast! The briefing is really short, but the staff help you as you start. We took my almost 12 year old nephew and they spent quite a bit of time getting him going which was awesome and ensure he had a good time. Everyone is really friendly and helpful, and we will likely return again!

Yesterday was our first time at Altitude and it was fantastic. I didn't participate, but was an observer and even that experience was so much fun. As well as being able to watch the others fly their planes, I was able to view a real time map of where they were in relation to one another, and see who was shooting missiles at who!
The staff were fantastic - we originally only booked a 30 minute slot, but so we didn't miss out the fun with the others - they gave us an extra 30 mins, on the house!

We'll certainly be going again, to try out their other simulators and will recommend this to anyone who would love the chance to "fly a plane".

I brought my husband here for a surprise date doing the F-18 experience since he’s quite experienced with Microsoft Flight Sim at home and is highly interested in flying. Overall we were very disappointed. Although friendly and kind, one staff member took much of the control in our game and was essentially playing for us without asking for our permission to do so for lots of the time. We would have appreciated learning and making the moves on our own. Moreover, we found the graphics to be poor and lack of controls in the cockpit to be a let-down and there were some inconsistencies between the instructional video at the beginning to how the actual workings of the controls are set up. I can see this being really exciting for a younger generation but the only part about this experience that was perhaps better than gaming on our home computer was sitting in the cockpit. I felt like at the end of the hour our money was wasted.

I took the Boeing 737 Captain offer. Leo and staff were most helpful and took the time to answer all my questions without any rush in time frame. A great experience for anyone who is interested in aviation such as myself. I highly recommend going to Altitude for fun afternoon. Be it on your own or with family and friends. 5 Stars is not enough. More like 10 stars. I'll be back.

I would give it a 3.5 if I could. Not a bad experience by any means, but for a group like we had, I (just speaking for myself here) felt it would have been better if we could have been scored individually and not just by the individual planes. Also would have been more enjoyable to have flown in different environments and situations. Would be great if there could be "modules" so to speak.

I understand this is a true simulator and not a video game and you are limited to time due to the restart times for the system and such though.

Not only was the staff INCREDIBLY knowledgeable, they were accommodating, kind, and genuinely friendly. One of the staff members pulled out his flight log books to show us, it was so lovely to hear him excitedly talk about his passion!
Firas was in swift contact with our company when we were booking a work event here and made sure our visit was the best it could be.

I more than HIGHLY recommend this place especially for functions and events!

Such a neat experience! We did the Boeing 737 family experience. Our pilot (a real pilot) was great, and I'll never take a flight for granted again!

I had a gift certificate from last Christmas from my wife.
I didn't have a chance to go until this September but WOW this was great.
This is the next best thing to flying commercially, the instructor was very knowledgeable as he was himself a Pilot.
I was able to take the plane on Taxi to the runway start and was able to take off by myself with my instructor beside me, that was great. Along the trip to Calgary I was in control of the plane and there was no auto pitot. As we got closer to the Calgary International Airport with the help of my instructor I was able to land the plane on the runway without any major mishaps, in fact I was told that it was a very smooth landing, this was great.
I really wanted to be a pilot when I was in my teens but as it sometimes happens, life got in the way and I have no regrets but
this was really a great experience and would do it again.

2nd time for Nephew but first time for me, we both did the Hornet and had a excellent time. So much fun would do it again

What a GREAT experience! I was looking for a fun birthday gift for my husband (67) and found Altitude Flight Simulation. I spoke with the Owner over the phone and he put together a custom experience based on what I described were likely my husband’s preferences. We were given a booking time slot for the same day and were welcomingly greeted by the Instructor and the Owner. The facility is professionally outfitted and has multiple simulator units so families can try them together. Our Instructor was very knowledgeable, friendly and enjoys what he does, all while providing great customer service. The Owner takes enthusiastic pride in giving his guests an experience that they will always remember. I highly recommend Altitude to anyone looking for something fun and unique!

Quite unique setup! Great for a social entertainment activity, and works for the whole family. We trued the F18 and it is so realistic yet simple and can get used to quite quickly, very recommended

My nephew had a great time and the instructor was great with lots of patient and even just watching it was amazing.
I even accidentally booked wrong date and I was fortunate not only just to change it but wasn't charged extra and was able to get in at the same time.
Will be taking him again and I may also try it

What a great experience, staff was very helpful with giving directions using the spitfire flight sim. I'd love to try the F18 next time

My girlfriend and I were in Calgary for just a Friday night and we found altitude flight simulation on TripAdvisor and decided to give it a go. We called just to get information about it and they were very courteous, they were fully booked for the rest of the day but they offered to accommodate beyond their closing time of 8pm as we called at 6pm.
On arrival, Dylan who was our instructor was very nice and took us through the simulation which we thoroughly enjoyed. He was very patient even though he was working overtime. He was very accommodating and friendly. I Would definitely recommend this place for anyone who is looking to try something new and fun. Would also recommend you ask for Dylan if he's available.

This place is fantastic! Booked the Spitfire VR simulator for an hour, had a blast! Staff is great, very helpful and informative. Will be back to try out the F18 sims next!

I booked on B737 for my husband as a birthday present, he is a plane enthusiast, it was outstanding experience, everything was great, from the booking to the end. The staff are fabulous! Leo, was his instructor and was awesome. It was a great birthday present for him! Thanks everyone

We did a private team even here and had a great time. Instructors were very knowledgeable and the simulators were a lot of fun.

Great experience at Altitude, very realistic flight in a 737-800 cockpit. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful, will definitely be back.

My 13 year old son and I went for the 60 minute VR Spitfire Battle Family Package and had a blast. The staff were very helpful and took extra time to teach us how to fly the Spitfire. The simulators was very realistic. I booked using the online booking system and received several courtesy reminders. The staff were very attentive and check-in was a breeze. Definitely going back for more, maybe the F-18 next time!

Recently went for 30 min session with the f-18 and it was amazing, the graphics were beyond what I thought the people were nice and very helpful and straightforward. The controls while seemingly can be a bit confusing to look at are really easy to learn. 10/10

What a great experience flying the 737! Everything was very well explained step by step from Dylon and he was able to answer any questions that I had! It was such a fun time learning all the things that happen in the cockpit:) Whether you're a flight enthusiast or want to try this just for fun, I definitely recommend this place!

Somehow I managed to convince my girlfriend to come with me to fly virtual F-18’s, even though she’s not what I would call an “aviation simulation enthusiast”.

We showed up early for the briefing, which was a quick and dirty lowdown on the controls, and how to get a missile splash on another fighter using a radar lock. As somebody who has dabbled in flight simulators before, I had a pretty good understanding of what to do. I did wonder however, if that expression on my girlfriend’s face was one of intense focus and comprehension, or if we had lost her at “the AIM-120 is an advanced medium range air to air missile. “. Whatever concerns I may have harboured at the time were unfounded.

The crew at Altitude strapped us into our respective jets, showed us where everything was, and sent us on our merry way at mach 1.2 over the skies of Vancouver. After following my girlfriend’s “evasive maneuvers” for long enough, I asked the Altitude crew member if it was possible in the simulator to shoot each other. Getting the subtle hint, the crew member explained to my girlfriend how the more advanced features of the jet worked, such as the missile warning system and countermeasures.

What followed, was about 45 minutes of the most fast paced, hotdogging, daredevilry you could possibly imagine from virtual fighter pilots such as ourselves. We were both able to return to Vancouver International and land, as our hour long mission came to a close. After my stellar performance, I was positive my girlfriend was about to turn in her wings, never to fly virtual jets ever again. Fortunately, the staff at Altitude had been well prepared for an instance such as this.

They showed us a replay of our mission, as well as a score board that recorded our kills, deaths, accuracy, and more. These guys were such bros. They quickly realized the jeopardy I had put myself in with my natural abilities, and displayed the score in a way that made it look like she had won 6-4. She did kill me six times mind you, they just very much downplayed the fact it took 35 missiles to do it.

Ultimately it was a successful mission, and a successful date. Thanks to the crew at Altitude, the girlfriend left happy and open to “maybe coming back to try the virtual reality spitfire sometime”. I had a blast, and thought that they had found a good balance between the plane being easy enough for my girlfriend to figure out out quickly, and complex enough to constantly learn something new if I came back multiple times. I also was able to purchase a pretty sweet desk display to remember it by.

What a great experience sitting in the cockpit of a 737 and at the controls. I think anyone would enjoy this. We will come back to try the fighter jets!

This was such a fun, unique experience! I come every time I go to Calgary. They are all experienced pilots so they were able to answer all my questions and teach me some cool things. You really get to experience what it’s like to fly an actual 737

My boyfriend and I decided to check this place out because he is an aviation simulator enthusiast! We flew the F18 for 60 minutes. Price was very reasonable. Facility is very welcoming & well put together. I will admit, I was a little nervous because I have no experience and was wondering how easy it would be for me. We had our 15 minute briefing which answered a few of my questions and was very informative. Once we were in the simulators, the staff member helping us was awesome! He made sure to point out where the important controls were, and continued to help me throughout our flight time - even giving me hints on what way to turn & when to launch my missiles. He was very patient with me & my lack of knowledge. I would recommend this place for anyone looking for a fun date night or group activity. We had a great time with plenty of laughs & we will definitely be back!

This was an awesome experience. I got to fly the 737 sim, and I'd recommend to anyone. I was led along by an ex 737 pilot, and he was very helpful and thorough with his explanations. While having some flight knowledge myself, he was able to answer all my questions, and made sure I got what he was saying.

It is definitely a great place to be, and I'm looking forward to hopefully coming back some day!

Experienced the 1: 30hr B737 simulator with takeoff from YLW and two approaches/landings at YYC. After a career in aviation I can say that the cockpit is a near perfect replica of the actual B737NG flight deck and the simulator is a quite realistic experience in itself. (albeit without the cost prohibitive motion) Thoroughly enjoyed my time in the left seat with guidance from Dylan. Will be sure to return again for more! I wholeheartedly would recommend Altitude's 737 for any aviation buff, or even just a regular flyer that would like to see what it's all about up at the sharp end. Owner Tammam is very friendly and truly cares about the customer experience. I wish him all the best on this exciting venture he has undertaken.

Really great experience. They have a spitfire VR, F18 simulator, and a 737 simulator. The whole experience is custom made and the only one of its kind. The staff was supportive and patient. They have membership options too!

Had an awesome time flying the 737 simulator. The place is beautiful! Clean and the service was exceptional. Would highly recommend this for a day-time activity to anyone!
