I came here for my road test after being so rudely treated and instructed by the people over at in and out registry on 50th street.

I was very scared to redo my test, especially after failing the first one.but luckily i got my instructor to be Wilson. He was amazing.l Had an amazing experience. This registry overall is amazing aswell. Passed both my class 7 and class 5 here. The staff is phenomenal and supportive and so helpful. Could rate this place 6 stars if i could, always had my back when i needed it. I don’t know why i didn’t come here in the first place for my road test! Thank you Wilson for the upmost enjoyable experience.

Needed travel insurance in a very quick hurry - showed up at 5: 45 (they close at 6: 00) and Christa Thomas had no hesitation in assisting me, even though it went past their closing time. She was very knowledgeable and easy to work with.

Do not go here 0 stars, we were greeted by someone who asked what we were here for I replied change of name I was told to wait in line (standing for over 1 hr and half with a knee surgery) when I finally get to the counter I was told because it’s to late they cannot do the change of name. I asked why we were not informed before hand like other people in line were for example a family doing there learners test was told there is not enough time they did not have a concrete answer. Normally I would not post a review because there horrible business practises will eventually lead to loss of market share and they will lose there jobs but what really shocked me is the employees thought it was funny what was happening to me (I am severely handicapped also), even BETTING if I would have an issue or not they thought it was hilarious. So unprofessional it’s a joke remember they are a service provider go to another ama if you have too use ama or outright avoid them and save yourself hours of waiting in line and being laughed at- I am used to the racism but this was wild.

I used the AMA to do my road test and I want to thank Dimitri who was the instructor. He is professional, polite, patient and made me feel very comfortable. I passed the advanced road test the first time. I strongly recommend taking a road test with Dmitry.

They are pretty good here. The staff are all friendly and very helpful. They really seem to want to help and make things easier on you. The lineup for the registry is kind of messed up, chairs are placed awkwardly and you have to line up around this column/pillar.

But I highly recommend this place. Friendly staff, great building, all the services you need.

Standing in line waiting to register my vehicle with only 2 tellers working and 12 people waiting to be serviced! They also have a "greeter" directing you where to stand! Lol I'm quite capable of figuring out where to stand thankyou, Maybe you should invest the money we pay for this service towards staff that will help decrease wait time instead of paying people to stand there being useless! This is RIDICULOUS! I will not be wasting my money on renewing this service that likes to waste their clients time!
*Edit* after waiting in line for 20 minutes to register my car, I got charged a $13 processing fee, which is around the same price a registry would charge. So I guess AMA member don't even get a break on the "processing" fees! I have now come to realize that my yearly subscription to AMA is not worth it. In today's economy were prices have skyrocketed, I would suggest to people to save the extra few hundred bucks a month as you are just throwing your money away for a lack lustre service!

Wilson was the instructor for the road test. He was rude from the start and didn’t even say hello. Soon as we went outside, he checked the vehicle and said everything was good. Then he told me I had a after market tint, which I do not. The vehicle was from the dealership as such. My sister has a front window tint done and had the exact same instructor a month ago. She passed without any issues regarding the tint. As soon as he said I couldn’t do the test anymore and that my money was gone, he went into his own car and left for lunch. Seems like he wanted a quick buck. DO NOT GO TO WILSON HE IS A SCAMMER! DO BETTER AMA

Don’t bother taking a road test here. It is more expensive than other registry’s in the area even with a membership and I feel my test was unfair. The lady I had as my examiner was unfriendly right from my first interaction and didn’t even explain why or where I accumulated most my points during the test. I went to another registry in the area for my 2nd road test a few days later and easily passed first try.

I have been a member since 1984. For the first time, I called to get help with some travel arrangements to Vancouver Island. It costs over $100 for you to help me. I thought this membership was more than emergency road assistance. I am so disappointed. All the money that I have paid over the years and nothing in return.

I took my son to there for his road test, the person testing who was asian was very picky about my vehicle. Even though there was nothing wrong with it, he made a big deal. He was not friendly at all and his English was almost impossible to understand. It was a very bad experience, I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Kim helped me get my knowledge test done for my class 7 drivers license and went far beyond with her service! She was quick and thorough considering I have a difficult situation and made my day so much easier than if I had gone to the nameless local registry.

Just had another experience, totally horrible. Failed a test due to an accessory light being burnt out, also because ama forgot to tell me about a $30 form only they do as a registry. 50/50 fault. 0 refund

This was by far the best experience I have ever had at a registry in my life! Carla was so helpful with everything and made us feel like she knew us. Even with all of the restrictions the line up moved quickly and it was wonderful to see the staff cleaning between customers it made me feel very safe. It proved the benefits of membership! Thank you so much AMA!

I had extremly bad experience in 3 different In and Out registry in the same week, It only took a quick walk in AMA to definitly never use any other service than AMA. I had to go in to change my address and Debbie who assisted me and the lady (sorry, didn't catch her name) were both very courteous and quite helpful. The covid 19 precautions are top notch even if the 'gentleman' behind me chastised Debbie for disinfecting after I was done at her station. Debbie kept her composure even while having to assist that idiot.

Very friendly staff and very welcoming. Didn't think a trip to the registry would be enjoyable. The AMA membership is worth it just to avoid going to any other registry office.

Today I did my road test at AMA 5040 Manning Drive. The examiner who is an Asian with Chinese accent failed me. His name is Wilson. His accent is very bad, I kept asking him to repeat whenever he gave me instructions, he told me to pretend that I’m up a hill and want to park without curb, I honestly thought he said uphill with curb, but I asked him to repeat the instruction slower, and it sounded like he said uphill with curb, I put my indicator on, check my blind spot, pulled over to the right side of the road, and turn my steering complete to the left, put the gear in Reverse and went back just a little bit, then I put the park brake on and put the car in parking gear. He asked me if I was finished, I told him yes, he said I did wrong thing because he told me to do “Uphill without curb” I told him that I asked him to repeat slowly and he hesitated and it sounded like he said uphill with curb, I told him that I want to do again because that was my first try and that I have 3 attempts, he told me that it’s fine, no big deal, but yet still he marked me down for that. He was so picky with me, I told him that I cannot understand his instructions because his accent is very weird and he refused to repeat anything, so he took it personal and search for small things to fail me. He failed me with 90 points. Wilson the examiner is not a kind person, so if any more student gets Wilson, please beware of his accent and know that he is very picky and if you ask him to repeat after one instructions, he will give you an attitude. I am a Coloured person and so think race was also a factor in his decision making today.

AMA has very courteous staff working in their facility. The only problem is the government makes it so difficult with all the strict regulations. The paperwork required in some instances is phenomenal. Again the people are well trained there and are following regulations which need changing by the government.

Member for about 10 years now, experienced worst service ever today, agent Ivo would not help at all to resolve some minor questions in detail on how to best apply for auto insurance after being qouted thru the call center (told us its not his job to solve other people's problems). Definitely will stay with another company, ended up signing up easily elsewhere 3000$ given to someone else due to poor lack of knowledge and customer service.

45 minute wait time while lining up for Covid. One person coordinating the line up. Only 2 people actually helping people to do whatever they needed. The mask requirement is new, hopefully things will speed up as we get used to it.

Applied for a new born certificate and waited till 7 weeks due to a discrepancy made by staff. However i have to connect myself with vital statistics to fix the problem. Hope registry staff gets more training. Bad experience.

The staff are polite and helpful. They clean each station after a person leave to make sure everything is sanitary and safe for the next person.

My experience was horrid. It was busy, congested, and mixed up. It lacked customer services, I wasn't helped well. I wouldn't recommend anyone tries to take there road test there.

Rude examiner, he didn’t even remember why he deduct my points for the driving test. I felt he just didn’t like me at all and just keep on deducting without giving me proper reasons or unreasonable reasons. He failed me because of stupid reason. He was rude the whole time. Please change your system and examiner. For the first time I didn’t feel safe.

It’s great to have licence, registrations, home and vehicle insurance, travel planning and more all in one location. The staff is always pleasant, polite and helpful. The lines move very quickly dependant on the number and complexity of the issues customers ahead have.

I took my dad and stepmom to see about travel insurance. The man who was supposed to hep us was terrible. He gave us a piece of paper and told them to fill it out. My dad had a stroke a year ago and can't write well anymore. This guy from AMA didn't help them, or asked any questions. In this kind of job you need to have a friendly face, nice personality and some compassion. I work with seniors every day and I would be fired if I treat the elderly like this. My dad was with AMA for about 32 years. We went to a different travel insurance and they were wonderful and I recommend this insurance company to everyone.

Worst registration provider possible. Do NOT go through ama. If youve been with them for years with insurance and registration, they wont lift a damn finger to help without a membership card active. Kind of pathetic considering how much i pay for insurance and everything.

Shellie helped me get a new license after I lost both that and my phone. She was the only thing keeping me sane through the whole debacle. Fantastic customer service.
