Do NOT get your passport photos done here! I waited 8 weeks for my passport appointment just to be told that my pictures were done wrong. There was a big glare on the picture and they wouldn’t approve it. I’ve never had my passport pictures refused before.
The person who did them wasn’t that pleasant either.
Plus it’s $$$

Visited this location on April 6,2023 at 4: 30 pm. Immediately greeted and directed to the correct line up by a friendly receptionist. Line up looked daunting but the staff were all doing their best. The lady who helped me and many other people in a short time was not even working at the vehicle registration area but she jumped in to help her co-workers and was so efficient and professional.

AMA spouts off about being paperless and environmentally friendly then will not register my vehicle without a paper copy of the Bill of Sale, the condition of registration is proof of purchase. I had my emailed Bill of Sale from a recognized business and emailed insurance document for the vehicle on my Device. I found this particular AMA very slow. All they accomplished was to build up a line of waiting people while the workers chatted and took their time. Two of the staff kept asking the third staff for advice and to check documents. AMA must be unionized because this was the worst experience EVER! I went down the road to Northeast Registries and wouldn't you know it, bing bang boom I have registered my vehicle and received a new license plate with only the documents on my phone. Save yourself the trouble go to a private registries they have common sense and are efficient, fast while still being friendly. I am only keeping my membership for the emergency calls. I will never attend another AMA for any service they offer not even when I am planning my Spring 2023 holiday of a lifetime. Since they will not accept paperless documents I am immediately changing my account from paperless to paper only. Don't even bother replying with your lip service I already read all your replies they are all the same message using different words.

Normally this AMA is very good. The staff are pretty quick and knowledgeable. However today I was 100% unimpressed. I went for a passport photo for my baby and 2 older boys. Nobody wanted to take a baby photo because they weren't comfortable with it. Apparently only one lady at that location took baby photos, but and she was busy helping other clients for over 1.5 hrs. Then they were going to take another ladies passport photo who was after me instead taking time boys photos. When we brought it up, the lady shrugged her sholders and said she knew nothing of that. I am still wondering why we couldn't put the white sheet on the ground and lay the baby on the floor and then take a picture. Would have been very simple. But all I kept getting was.we aren't comfortable with this. It wasn't until I pressed the issue that she would try, but only with the baby in the chair (more dangerous than on the floor.) so ridiculous. And it wasn't just one staff, it was 3! I was ready to take the picture myself.but of course you can't do that either. Either wait 2 hrs for the 1 person to do it or.come back another day. Other excuses I heard today included.our center isn't set up for this. Well then it should be stated on your website or you should train more people! Or let me take the photo myself if you don't know how to aim and click. You didn't have to touch my kid once so I have zero ideas what the hold up was. At the end, we got a picture.not sure if it will work. So frustrated and disappointed in the complete nonsense from them today.

I was unaware that you had to be a member to renew your license.
I was interested in reactivating my AMA membership but was not offered any deals at that time so it was a big waste of my time.
At least I now know.

Staff is really very very helpful and cooperative. They reach each and every one ask why they are here for and try to provide assistance as early as possible.

On the website for vehicle requirements for a road test, it says no windshield chips larger than 12mm in diameter, however, after you pay the booking fee like the $100+ fee I had to pay, you fill out a checklist prior to the test that implies heavier restrictions than stated online. My vehicle has a small crack in the windshield probably about 15cm long. Limit on the checklist is 12cm so the instructor deems my vehicle unworthy of use for the test, gives me 5 MINUTES to produce another vehicle, which I cannot do, I have to kick rocks and lose the $100+. I paid for a service the instructor obviously didn’t feel like providing. After this I decide to renew my drivers license instead as it expires soon. I wait at the front of the empty AMA for 15 minutes while the 3 receptionists that can help me all gather around another computer. 10/10 hate that AMA, not everyone can casually shell out hundreds of dollars on the chance that the employees decide they feel like doing their jobs.

Covid is creating a shortage of staff to serve clients but the staff you actually see behind the counters are not all attending to customers!
Please don't tell me that a company this size is that short on staff to have more than 1 person per counter on a SATURDAY!

I had Called to Attempt my Learner's License, Called before hand and even checked the Website. Said they couldn't help me cause I wasn't a Member. The person I talked to on the phone an hour prior said Non-members were allowed they'd just have to pay an extra $10. Same with their website.
And as A Potential New Driver that doesn't have a Car just yet. What sense does it make for me to have a Membership if I have no Vehicle.

Don't fall into the trap of thinking this place offers public registry services. It is strictly a 'members only' registry, so not a real registry at all.

I tried to change the registration for our car. My husband filed up the forms and I had everything ready. When I went there, they had no idea what to do. When they told me to get my husband to sign something, I had to explain it was the person that is going to have their name on it and that is me. It took forever and they would speak in a loud tone which made me feel really uncomfortable. I will try to do everything online unless I am forced to go to the office. This time I had to go there to sign in front of them.

I have been AMA member over 30 years. I have never seen their service this bad ever. I registered my son for a brush up driving lesson. Lady who registered did not give proper info or date or how we will get it. We never received the e-mail she kind of mentioned, never got a link to book our lesson.we had to call ask for everything one by one, finally got a name for instructor and then he does not text us to book a date.my goodness. Unbelievably bad service these days, corona is to blame everywhere but they take advantage of corona

Had an issue with Bill of sale and had to wait for seller to arrive and fix the paper. They graciously waited for 30 minutes to help us finalize and get
our plates. As they closed at 6. Thank you AMA

Recommend making an appointment as line ups can be lengthy. Staff is always helpful and friendly and the area is always clean.

The drivers and customer service is very friendly.
They do allocate the time but lost of the time the help is reached before time.

I took AMA's Brush-up course with Hahini, who was professional and clear, after taking this course I booked my road test which I passed. I would like to say that the examiner was fair and clear, of course he has 30 years as an examiner which gives him criteria to be fair, not like other less experienced examiners as happened to me in other registration agencies. I recommended driving lessons and testing at AMA NE.

I had a flat tire just outside of Calgary off Glenmore east bound. Not the best spot to be, so Karen on the phone, made sure someone got there quick. Spare tire was on in no-time and I was on my way within half hour or so! Superb service! Thank you so much!

Staff is always disorganized it’s like they don’t know how to schedule breaks which causes 1hr long waits. It’s not worth it to get a membership to save wait time, you have to wait 10x longer here than any private registry be prepared to have sore feet from standing and clear your calendar

My dad is the member of AMA and his car was broke today and my husband was using that car to pick me up. We called AMA sunridge and were told that they cant help us because its my dad's membership and because he is not physically present there. This is scam, they dont help us when we need them. Please all read terms and conditions before buying their membership.

I've been to this location numerous times over the years for a number of reasons. Clean, friendly and well organized office. I find most AMA's are. This location is best for proximity to my home and the available parking.

A about 25 parking spots immediately surrounding the building and lots more parking thoughout the connected Sunridge mall parking lot. The mall parking is a bit awkward to get in and out of look at a map ahead of time to avoid frustration / u-turns. Easiest access is to enter right off the street on 20th AV NE, just after 36 St NE and before the next traffic lights (a main intersection to get into the mall). Exception is in winter and the hill might be icy. I've seen cars stuck or slide back down trying to get up this incline.

Since Covid19 protocols were implemented, there are arrows and signage and a person greeting at the door to assist without you queuing through the line incorrectly or unnecessarily. The registry and membership line (they are combined) is always the longest. Staff are always friendly but friendly, skilled and speedy seems to be a hit and miss. This has nothing to do with age from what I can tell.just the person and their working style. A few have been great but a couple others have been incredibly slow. I appreciate the attention to detail and it is important to be accurate but I think a couple staffers here could simply move a bit faster, verses slowly strolling from one spot to another, slowly reading as they walk or reading their papers over and over before asking for help or waiting to look at their issue later when their previous customer is gone and many more are waiting. Like when there is a line of 8+ people and they are 1 of 2 clerks and I've been in line for an hour and this particular clerk been talking to herself and looking confused for a good 10mins.

AMA has great service and product offered at good value just schedule any office visits with ample time.

AMA insurance is the worst insurance company in Canada! First time they gave me a good deal and after 1 week they canceled my policy and they calculated as 12 months of my policy payments and they send me to a bad credit! I never seen such kind company in Canada

It was a very bad experience at Alberta Motor Association sunridge. I was having the road test at 9: 15am and registry opened at 9am. I got my number at 9: 11am and the instructor who was going to conduct my test, he sanitized my car till 9: 23am. He checked my front and back signals and also brake lights. So he got ready for the road test at 9: 24am instead of 9: 15am. All the lights were perfectly working except the brake mirror light at the back. I requested him that if it is not working can I bring other car of my friend. He said you have 4 minutes. My friend arrived at 9: 32am and he didn’t allowed me to take the test for just 2 minutes. He said you have to rebooked the test. So I asked what about my money then. He very rudely said that is gone. I was very frustrated at that time. He was not cooperating at all.

I went to AMA to register my car. I was amazed at the excellent service I received compared to other registries in Calgary. In particular, Richard at the counter was so helpful and went out of his way to assist with the registration.

Horrible customer service. My cheque for my vehicle that was totalled was issued for a thousand dollars less, they couldn't figure out to cancel my insurance policy on the date the vehicle was taken into their possession, I was not given a rental and when I spoke with an agent in person she asked if it my age was the reason that I wasn't issued a rental. These are just some of the many reasons I will not be continuing with ama.

I would like to extend a huge thank you to the staff at this AMA location. My 17 yr old son Connar took his Learner's test there. Connar has reading difficulties so he needed to take the test orally. He took the test 3 times. Each visit the staff was very friendly, accommodating and very supportive of Connar. They went the extra mile by offering us the normal cost of taking the test.

Yesterday on his 3rd attempt Connar passed his test. He was over the moon with Joy. We went to Olive Garden to celebrate. I would like to thank the staff at AMA for playing a big part in my son's success. We will definitely be back and I am already looking at using this AMA for future services.

Despite the line up. Service was fast. Jasmine Singh helped us promptly with our registrations and was very friendly. The staff at the front who asked everyone what they were in for was friendly and directed everyone to where they needed to be. Staff cleaned after each customer left the desk.

Absolutely terrible service. I came in told them what I needed done and the directed me which line to go to. After standing in line for 40 minutes they came and told me they nobody available to help me until 1.would have been nice to know before I stood there and they wasted me entire morning.

I urge you to never go here for auto insurance! I have been an AMA client for 18 years and every time I am forced to go to his location it is the same thing, horrible! At the moment I am waiting for the second time and 3 other people have gone in front of me. Choose willow park location, at least there they value their clients.

I went there to have the IDP done. The receptionist was so helpful.although I am not one of their participating clients.

The place is clean.and I tried that hearing test, it was funny.

The lady who helped me was professional and helpful as well.

Waiting times is the issue that I encountered.other than that, every thing was good and smooth.

I’ve always had good experiences dealing with AMA for all my registry needs and they’ve done it again. Always happy to drive to AMA rather than a normal registry. You get better service here always and they don’t try to weasel all the possible money out of you

Absolutely no regard for individuals privacy here, we went in to get an issue resolved with the registry and the CSR was so loud with his conversation that everyone knew our business.

We have never had any prior good experiences with AMA either.

Their regard for customer service is ZERO, they need to do better hiring. Costco is a membership based business and their customer service is leads ahead of AMA. Maybe take a page from their book.

I just wanted to write this review for one of the travel agents at the Sunridge AMA location, Kristy. She helped me and my son book our first ever trip to Hawaii. She took care of everything, including printing out maps, helping us with seat selections and lots of other things. Unfortunately, at the airport I suffered an accident and broke my knee. This kicked in my travel insurance I bought. She has been amazing helping me with all the paperwork involved with the claim and I haven't had to do much of anything as she has taken care of all of it while I have been recovering. She has even sent me emails asking how I am doing. Me and my son plan on re-booking this trip with AMA and Kristy when my injury has healed. Thank you Kristy for making this difficult time a bit easier.
