Excellent staff. Highly knowledgeable, and they know exactly what to do and recommend. I've been to some privately owned registries before, and those guys can't even answer simple questions. Good job, AMA. Keep it up.

Member services only. However, the services they provided are overrated. There is the usual extremely long lineup at the registry. The usual wait time is over half an hour. Being a member does not have any discounts on the registry services. Their insurance is almost always more expensive than other insurance providers due to their small pool. They do have a travel agency on sight, but people may be able to get better pricing online.

Great experience to go to AMA registry in place of other registry. So much convenient and organized.
Sheetal khullar was amazing to deal with. She went above and beyond to help us with all our needs. Also responded to our emails timely for our queries.

I blew a tire in a busy high-speed location with no option to pull onto any kind of side road. AMA sent two drivers, one to protect us from traffic from behind and one to change my tire. They arrived very quickly, understanding the tricky spot I was in, worked efficiently and were friendly. I was able to watch their arrival time on my phone! 5 Stars AMA! Thank you.

A good place for a registry office and has service offers for members that aren't bad if one actually can use them, as the deals are pretty good.

I am a AMA member from last three years and this was the first time I visited the location. Agent was very friendly, good and quick customer service and get a free copies of passport size photographs.

Mandy took great care of us when we needed to update our driver's license pictures. She consolidated our Alberta Health Accounts and made us feel like models during the photo session. ;)

The employees here are ALWAYS happy and friendly! They are super helpful, and the host at the door guides you to the area you need to be in for your desired service or purchase. Not many businesses provide this level of service anymore. This is an errand I don’t mind doing!

Clive was of great help to me today, I called this morning to get my battery boosted, he came and did that for me. After a little while, I got on the road and my ignition just went dead at an intersection. I called him again, he didn’t take so much time for him to show up and help boost the battery again and drove behind me to get off from the main road to the nearest gas station where I parked the vehicle and then call AMA towing services. Thank you for your help, I appreciate that.

I had long and exhausted day of working today. Totally forgot keys in the ignition box. When Clive came rescue me. I didn't need to look for other help. He was gentleman with good manner. 5 stars and wish you have good holiday seasons

Recently I got service from Clive, he was an excellent technician and provided excellent service to me. First time help boast my vehicle, second time help replace dead battery. After the service, he called me few times for following up, I highly recommend him.

Waited for over 2 hours for a service call to repair/change a flat, with one call in front of me. While I am capable of changing a tire myself (and ended up doing so) my wife would not have been in the same position.

Over the years there has been value in the membership and the services offered and provided, however this time you let us down AMA, please strive to do better.

Went to renew my drivers license. They could have used a additional clerk. The service was a bit slow but once I was served I got thru quickly.

Although they have dozens of chairs available to sit in while you wait there are somehow still people left standing as only 1 or 2 kiosks are typically open for service.

Went there to just renew my account, took forever because some guy was told to go in front of me, and he took forever trying to get maps for all of southern States. Only one agent of 4 counters, finally another agent showed up.

If you love lineups you should make this your number one stop. They regularly have two people working on six tills and about 10 people in line. The move to on line renewals should have helped this place, not made it worse.

So due to a bank error which I proved to ama they still want to ding me with a $35 fee.
Escalating it up the ladder proves the same result and I'm told to go to my bank and get AMA's policy fee from them.
Sorry I'm not comfortable doing that for a digital inconvenience where your greedy fingers still want the $35.its amazing that you're willing to lose a customer over this.

Dealt with Joey in the insurance department to get my truck insured, Very helpful and friendly. Registration desk did take a long time due to staff shortages but not to bad.

I understand companies get busy BUT Purchased AMA for the first time this year, had to use it as my car was hit on a Public Main Street in Edmonton, not drivable so car was blocking a lane, first person told us it would be 4 hours, given it was 8pm, that was reasonable, At 11: 45pm got no communication so I called them, another person told us it was gonna be overnight pickup because they thought it was in a residential not blocking a lane that has constant traffic through it! Sure enough 4: 38am my car was picked up. I understand companies get busy, but 8 1/2 hour wait for a 7km tow, don’t think it was worth buying an Premier membership or AMA in general. Lack of communication between staff, and when I asked to make a note of where the vehicle was the first time, no one had a note written down when I called the second time. Might just eat the tow truck bill next time then have this happen again

I had my advanced road test with Wilson and it went so great. He was very professional and made me feel very confident. I highly recommend coming here for your road exams, also the receptionist was very friendly. I had an excellent experience.

I just have to say wow. To the amazing service by Parminder and Sherri. And honest mistake had us there a bit longer but they worked so hard to help us and we eventually got it all figured out. And bonus points to Sherri for pulling out 2 packages of peaches for our two kids to help them with their patience while sitting and being good. Just above and beyond the need of customer service. I will continue to use this ama because of their efforts. Thank you so much you two!

Never use AMA again.they are so expensive and very unprofessional. Canadian Tire road assistant is 99$/yr for the same service that AMA charges 140$/yr. AMA hires contractors to handle their calls and you have to deal with 3rd party on everything, even the price as the contractors usually ask different prices.

Sep 1,2021. The on-line booking for driver's license renewal was wonderful. I booked the appointment yesterday. It only took me 15 minutes to complete the renewal process today. Once again, I saw the wonderful receptionist again. She was still working hard and kept the counter clean.

I just want to say that I really appreciate the receptionist (?) on duty on October 7,2020. I went to AMA (10310 G. A. MacDonald Ave) to get a new license plate around 12: 00pm. The staff showed a welcome greeting and escorted me to the registry. While I was waiting, I saw her working diligently: greet the clients coming in, escort the clients to the respective section they should go, clean the counter and / or the chairs every time after used by the clients. It is so amusing such wonderful staff who follows the covid-19 cleaning requirements. It really helps to protect the staffs and the clients accordingly. I know it is not easy. Thank you thank you for keeping me safe from covid-19.

It is a weird Insurance Company. I got Auto and home insurance quotes from this Company and others. AMA quotes are double than other companies' quotes. I do not know whether they are doing it knowingly or unknowingly. They do not realize that the customers are always ahead of them. Speaking to AMA Insurance Advisors is just waste of time.

Today is Tuesday June 29th. I called AMA at 6.20 PM. I requested a towing service. After 15 monutes wait, rhey gave me estimated time from 6.20 PM to 10.00 PM. At 10 PM I called, asking where is the towing. They said they are not forgetting about me, although they totally forgot. After my phone call, they said they are extremely sorry and they will send an emergency towing eithin 1 hour. Which means 11 PM.

I am writing this review at 11.55 PM and no one showed up yet and they did not call to inform me that there will be a delay.

Absolute bad management and absolute bad customer service.

I am looking for alternatives like a private towing company.

I took my class 5 advanced road test here and then again at St Albert. Both examiners were super nice! (I know one of them was named Joe and the other lady I can’t remember but she had blonde hair.) Answered any questions I had before my test. And when I failed the first time Joe told me exactly what I needed to work on and took time to explain what is the correct way. The second time I went to St. Albert as it was the soonest availability and I was able to pass it thanks to the little corrections I needed to do on the last one. Definitely recommend taking your drivers tests here! Even if you don’t pass you know exactly what to work on.

I went to an AMA registry shortly after getting married to update my information in June 2021. One of the things that needed to be updated was linking my and my spouse’s Alberta Health Care accounts. We filled out a form, with our current address, but my new card never showed up. During a call to Alberta Health, I found out that my card was sent to another city, where I have NEVER lived. My spouse has lived there before, about 5 years ago, and apparently that address was still on his account. However, that is not our current address, and not what we put on our form when we attended the AMA registry.

I called AMA when I found this out and their staff had zero regard for the privacy breach they created. I was given incorrect information about how to submit a complaint to their privacy office. After having to push their customer service rep for a number, I left a voicemail on their Chief Privacy Office’s phone number on June 21,2021. I also received a call from Sheila in their registry area a little after that. Sheila was actually somewhat helpful and within a day, confirmed that the AMA registry agent disregarded our form and attached an incorrect address to my account. This was also confirmed my Alberta Health the following day.

I never received a single call from AMA’s privacy office regarding the breach. Unfortunately Sheila told me she couldn’t do much since it was up to that office to deal with the breach. I finally received a generic email from their Privacy Officer and lawyer, Angus Ng, later that week saying they’d be doing an investigation and pointing the finger at Alberta Health (when I and AMA both knew it was AMA’s error). After not hearing anything about the process, or what they found (which took Sheila and Alberta Health a day each to find AMA’s error, I reached out to their VP of Advocacy and Operations, Jeff Kasbrick, since a week had gone by and my complaint was not being taken seriously. He curtly brushed me off, had no interest in an operational error of AMA and told me I had to contact the privacy office - the very place not replying or giving me information. I sent a follow up email and left a voicemail on their Chief Privacy Officer’s phone on June 28,2021, and again heard nothing back. I called Sheila to indicate how awful at communication this place was, she indicated she’d follow up for me.

On Wednesday, June 30, I received a call from Joe Strigl - General Manager of Member Services. He assured me that AMA was taking this seriously and said he’d issue me a refund for my fees, since after this I have no interest in ever using AMA again. He also indicated that this issue had been brought to their general counsel and CEO and claimed it was being taken seriously.

On Friday, July 2nd, I finally heard back from their privacy officer, Angus Ng. It was the most disgusting, lie filled letter I’ve ever received. There was absolutely no accountability of AMA’s part in attaching an incorrect address to my name, and he also had the audacity to say that it wasn’t a big deal because it was sent my previous address. How is an address and city where I’ve NEVER LIVED, my previous address? While it was my spouse’s address from 5 years ago, when I didn’t even know him, that in no way makes it my address or makes it ok to send my information to complete strangers! Clearly the supposed investigation Angus Ng did was non-existent, since I had been an AMA member since 2017 and they most certainly had my address on file. This person is a sleazy liar, as is this entire organization.

AMA is the reason why my personal information was sent to strangers, and their way of dealing with their error, confirmed by both one of their staff and Alberta Health, is to lie and blame everyone else. Stay away from this extremely unethical organization! I have had countless hours of my time wasted dealing with AMA only to have them continue to lie about their error.
