Called for road assistance 01/11 at 11am, the estimate arriving time was 5 am next day. 1/11 at 4.31 pm got notification about the technician coming in 10 minutes. We did not have time to prepare or even see the message as the notification came not in advance at all. My partner was not able to open the car hood. Driver told that he is not going to wait and just left immediately. So kind and patient. Thank you AMA for not boosting the car. (It took just 5 more minutes for my partner to open it).

I needed to get a document from Land Titles and the best way is to go to AMA. (Who knew). There was about 10 people in line waiting, but it only took about ten minutes until my turn. The document was very easy to get as I had the legal description ready and my AMA card. Very nice and efficient people to deal with whether you need vehicle registration, drivers licenses, passports, insurance or travel assistance. Handy place to have nearby.

I've only been a member for about a year and found the customer service to be mediocre. Recently, I called to enquire about rental car insurance and was advised that they don't do rental car insurance which is contrary to what is on the AMA website. I then filled out an on-line form for a callback so I could follow up. The email reply I received advised that I would get a call later that day or the next day. Never heard another thing. It must be nice to have so much business that you can be selective about how you interact with members.

I have come here for vehicle registration, ect many times and always had a good experience. Today I went for business registration. The lady that "helped" me was in the back next to the learners test station. I had my 2 kids with me so I sat them next to it, there was no one at them. She snapped at me and said they can't sit there. Then I grabbed a chair so we could all sit at her des, she glared at me and I asked if that was ok. She snapped again and said "I guess so. " She continued to snap at me and talk down to me, especially if I asked a question. So I ended up leaving and telling her she was being very rude and she started to yell "ya well you're" and I said she should stop and she said "ok. " Even my 9 year old said as we were walking to the car "wow that lady was mean. "

Always a giant line up. You pay a membership fee to come in and be inconvenienced with no benefit. Do yourself a favour and go somewhere else.

I had a great experience with AMA Sherwood Park Alberta. After failed attempts to rent a vehicle through several rental agencies, I was advised to call AMA. After a bit of a wait on the phone, I was able to connect with Connor. He eased the difficulties of a very stressful situation, secured us an SUV, during a very busy pre-Christmas season, and enabled us to continue on to our destination. He took the time that was necessary & made us feel like valued customers.

Went to Sherwood Park AMA today to purchase medical travel insurance for a trip to the US this weekend. Front desk representative (Debbie) I believe told me to take a seat and wait. The lady I held the front door open for was getting the same thing as me and was helped right away. This process usually only takes about 5 minutes with an agent. I was told after waiting that I should come tomorrow or do it online. I said I need it taken care of today. She said ok. After waiting fifteen more minutes Debbie told me they won’t be helping me today. I thanked her for making me wait so she could just eventually tell me that they would not be helping me. I left and went to RBC where 5 minutes later I had spent $140 on the deluxe travel package insurance. On a positive note I have RV plus coverage since 2008 and regular coverage for years before that. My membership renews in November. The timing couldn’t have been better as I will not be renewing my membership or my parents that I buy for them annually.

If you are new to driving Samina is the perfect instructor to learn with. She is very attentive and safety oriented, but most importantly she cares about teaching her students well. Thanks to her I feel safe and prepared on the roads. I highly recommend any new drivers to learn with her. 10/10!

Would post a zero star if possible. Staff incompetent. Have been with AMA for over 20 years but AMA did not renew our membership properly (did individual not family). Had to pay out of pocket for service. Technician was unsympathetic and made me wait to open vehicle even though I needed the meds inside while he doubled checked. I said I would pay it didn’t matter. Service has gone downhill:

Is there anyplace in Sherwood Park that hires more incompetent people? I have yet to find them if so. Why do we pay for NO service? Registration dept cannot think on their own, no thought process whatsoever. Robots could function better.
Car quits and needs a boost, daytime, summer. Told 3.5 hour wait. What am i paying a membership for? Save your money. Go ANYWHERE else for SERVICE. They do not know the meaning of the word. Upper management needs to step in here SERIOUSLY. Zero stars if i could.

Never again! Not this location. Staff need training to treat customers with friendliness and courtesy! Not like they were just another customer to collect money for service they cannot get anywhere else in the world! By golly! I thought as a member, I should support my organization. I come out of the way just to get here. The lady takes a picture of me for a driver renewal license and expects me to leave immediately. When I stated that I would like to look at the picture, she acted like I made an offensive request. Her manner was rude and totally unacceptable. This is not the first time I got treated this way at this location.
In future I will go to the Registry on Wye. Their service is way better. They treat you with courtesy and respect. They will take two or more of your pictures and even allow you to choose which one you would like. Staff must be trained to understand that the customer pays their salary, and should do everything possible to show them respect, no matter how old they may look!

Service is absolutely useless. They will not do anything to help you out. There was a problem with a wrong address for my registration. I gave them all the Information they need they know who Iam but I don't know the address on the old account or everyone attached to the account. I cant change and update the account because I don't know the old address but they won't give me that info to do change it. So as I was trying to explain to her that all i need is the address so I can update to he new she hang up on.
All I needed was the old address to update the new one and they wouldn't allow me to do it.

Myself and many of my friends and family have been happy AMA members for years, but in the last year they have changed too many of their policies for far lesser service and removed many of the conveniences of the memership (even the RV Plus).

You're better off saving the price of the membership for a tow if/when you need it because they will only tow your vehicle to a shop, no longer your own residence even if you work on your own vehicles.

If you drive a newer vehicle under warranty built to regularly fail then AMA is great for towing it to the stealership 5 times a year.
But if you are an able-bodied person with enough brain cells to turn a wrench on your own vehicles, AMA is no longer for you.

Just another step closer to 2030.

I have traveled many times with AMA but apparently their travel policy has changed. I am going on two trips this spring and summer, big trips for me. When I talked to an agent I explained I was a senior and not a technical experts so would like to have her do the bookings etc, She was very rude to me, told me i could go on the AMA web site and do my own bookings and save the $100 I would have to pay her up front. With the money I was prepared to pay AMA I do not have to pay for rudeness or a do it your self web site. Very upset and disappointed.

My car was stranded in the middle of no where and they came to tow it in just an hour.super satisfied.the driver even offered an “xxxtra tip” very pleased.throat hurts still tho

It's so nice to go to a registry that doesn't treat you like a burden. I always have a pleasant experience with the staff when I come here. FYI if you need a notary for your paper work, the "regular" staff can do that. You can also sign up to have your licence plate automatically renewed through your membership.

Very friendly and knowledgeable. Examiners are very helpful so be sure to ask your questions before starting your drivers exam!

Great customer service!
I was charged for 3 road test because the website errored out. I went in the next day and the supervisor took all my info and gave me her card and told me she would update me. She called me 4 times in total and kept me updated the whole way which was awesome and after about 2 weeks i got my money back.

(Covid-19 Year Review)

The Sherwood Park location has a nice safe set up and it's very well-paced if you get there in the morning or noon, M-F. At rush hour between 1600-1800, it does get a lot busier. The layout is a circle and you would like to stop at the reception for covid questions before proceeding counterclockwise (follow markers to the line up).

Came in hoping to start a new membership, but started off by saying I need to pay tickets, receptionist just said we only do that for members and basically asked me to leave. Feeling confused as to how one joins the secret ama society.

I have never been to this office before but my husband said the customer service was excellent when he renewed his driver's license recently. I went in after work today and the service was exceptional. So kind and helpful and caring and it was sincere. No fake smiles. Also they were very diligent about sanitizing continuously and I really watch for that.

Renewing my registration every two years is a dreadful experience for the simple fact of having to wait in a line at AMA. Regardless of peak or non peak hours, there's only 2-3 kiosks ever open meanwhile 5 or more employees elsewhere are idle on their phones or talking to one another. I've tried coming at different times on different days and the lineup never takes less than 30 minutes just to speak to a registry agent. I'd like to see AMA either train their employees to do more tasks so that they can float between roles depending on the lineups or simply staff more employees. My experience with agents and otherwise has been good 4/5.

The wait in line was a bit long, but what registry isn't. A lady named Liz helped me. She was so helpful. Took the time to make me feel welcome and answered all of my questions very politely. Your organization needs more people like Liz on your counter.
I personally witnessed a member bully and berate one of the reps.
The lady's who work there should not have to deal with bad behaviour just because the person is a member.
AMA needs to start standing up for their employees and place a sign at the entrance to the building.
"FOR EVERYONE'S SAFETY, WE CANNOT TOLERATE INAPPROPRIATE OR AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOR, HARASSMENT, OR COARSE LANGUAGE. PEOPLE WHO ENGAGE IN THIS TYPE OF BEHAVIOUR WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE".

Was the best place in sherwood park to do business now by far the worst.a complete change in staff and now they have Liz.she is the worst very rude and condescending she does not listen to simple requests and trysts to force her opinions on you.she is not good for your operation.

AMA Sherwood Park requires more staffing. Usually only 2-3 staff on at a time. Today, Saturday afternoon only 2 staff on, we waited 80 minutes in line and there were only 7 people ahead of us when we got there.

First time I went I I waited for more 30 minutes because noone was around and a long line. And this time as well. The lady at the front desk skipped me and a man asking if she could help with quick service. Another lady then at the front skipped me and another man in line because hers was "quicker" at the actual desks. And then remembered me and my issue for being quick. Had 2 people working at 1pm on a saturday. And I also feel I'm unnecessarily being made to pay an extra 20$ one month from now

You have to wait extremely long times. They are always short staffed and agents continue to leave as the line gets longer.

I had a really good experience here today. Hubby and I had to change addresses on vehicle registration, driver's licenses, AMA membership, and health care cards as well as renew the vehicle registration. The agent was very efficient and was able to renew my driver's license early wasn't due until next year) as well as update my donor information and get hubby on the donor list. In and out with all that in under a half hour.

I am most disappointed in your recycling day. I arrived at 1 pm to sit in line as a staff went car to car indicating that only shredder was working due to malfunctions in the others. He also indicated there were 2 other events planned in the Edmonton area. I think this was totally unacceptable and I would strongly suggest you book another day for the shredding the Park. I am sure there were well over 50 cars that were wanting to use this opportunity.

The Driver's licence renewal staff are rude and not well trained in customer service. We had to go back many times because they kept changing their mind on what documentation we needed to renew my driver's licence. Go elsewhere where they treat you with respect and show courtesy. The registry office resembles the bad rap in USA DMV offices - staff busy chit chatting, customers lining up, no respect for privacy etc

I am cancelling my AMA card at the next renewal

** I am really not interested in reliving the horrible experience - SO NO I won't be calling or emailing anyone.

I would suggest you get your act together - watch how your staff are dealing with people and complex situations - provide comprehensive training to all your front line staff and you will address most of what's lacking!

I just returned from getting my renewal and 2 annual returns completed at Sherwood Park Registries - what a difference! Great service and knowledgeable ladies - got all if it done in no time.

Overwhelming, not helpful at all I left angry is my experience. I just wanted to replace a sticker for my vehicle but it turned into a game of 20 questions at which point I questioned why I'm doing this? You clearly have my ID and my information on file so getting me to verify the make model and year of my vehicle that should be on my file so when I say the Nissan Titan and their is only one on my file why play the stupid games? I could see if I had 2 of the same vehicles on file but I don't so when I said the Nissan Titan you shouldn't need to ask 20 questions about the damb vehicle it's all on file! I should be able to give you my ID and membership card and not have to carry my paperwork around with me soooooo inconvenient!

This was one of the worst unprofessional experiences I have ever had with a registry. I was treated like a second rate citizen and the workers talked about me behind my back in front of other customers.my wife being one of them. After going to another registry they sorted everything out and explained to me that Ama overcharged me and caused me to get a hundred dollar medical that was unnecessary which i took time off work to get.they also downclassed my drivers from a class1 to a class 5.which is now reinstated thanks to another knowledgeable registry. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE.after this i am cancelling all AMA memberships. Does anyone see a common problem here. Someone leaves a review and there is an apology. NOTHING DONE TO FIX IT.for F#$%%^ sakes even are names are attached to the reviews.figure it out. If you want to make things right use you superpowers.obviously its the blind leading the blind.by the way your MANAGER was the one involved.

Was greeted by a lovely woman who referred us to Colleen (bright red hair) to inquire about travel. We told her a few places where we wanted to go and a decent budget. She looked up two places we mentioned, told us the cost and asked if we wanted to book, without even showing us pictures or offering any information about ANYTHING. We felt like peasants who couldn't afford anything after she looked extremely bored with us. Least to say, I'm not impressed with the "service" or lack of respect we were not given. I booked online, and certainly not through AMA.

Get your sh*t together! 3 times I've had to come back to change my sons last name because they keep failing to inform us of exactly what's needed. Even though I've brought everything I had in regards to information and they seemed to have a problem with every little detail. Fair enough, I understand that these have to be exact and precise in the eyes of the government, but. This time (3rd) something else wasn't good enough even though the same papers and documents have been shown each time I've been in there! Now I have to replace another document which could've been replaced the same time the 1st document was requested. Get your sh*t together!
