Amato Gelato 17th Avenue

If you live around Calgary or visiting and you love ice cream this place is a must try, there are so many great options especially fruit flavors and they sample them to try it out too. I tried mango coconut and matcha/green tea flavors and I absolutely loved them!

Finally, I am getting service like in Europe, but there is so much room for improvement. They need to go to Italy to understand what is real service. Everything else is so overrated and overpriced.

Good ice cream, staff works fast and even though it has big lines they move quickly through it

We went for gelato, we had the spumoni and pistachio and both were lovely. On a whim we decided to try the Olive All'ascolana, deep fried stuffed olives. DELICIOUS! So glad we walked a little out of our way to try Amato!

Beautiful place, good service and lot of options. Perfect to get ice cream for kids and coffee for parents!

Clean and cool spot for a fun late dessert or cocktail. Love the truffle brownie. Staff are always polite and location is nice.

There's a so many options to choose from, I bet you'll be confused what to buy. Easily the best gelato place in Calgary. Although, there's only 1 vegan option in case anyone's wondering.

The best gelato in Calgary. They have a HUGE selection of delicious gluten free and vegan sorbets and gelato.the chocolate and the blood orange are my all time favourites. The staff are so nice too.

This is my go to shop for cakes, ice cream and anything sweet but the person who was on cash today on 24th Sep around 3.30 was extremely rude, I know it was a busy time but he asked us to take a seat and he said he will call us when it’s ready, I took a table and literally stood there because like I said it was busy and didn’t want to be in anybody’s way but he yells at me saying and I quote “why don’t you go further than that where I can’t see you” well sorry if you can’t see us because I am right here and you guys need better management for sure or maybe glasses for some people

Amazing service and great location! The gelato was great and we hope we can come back again soon. The gelato was so smooth and we loved every flavour we tried here (Durian, Mango Coconut, Pistachio Ripple). The decor and restaurant is also beautiful.

Ice cream is pretty mediocre. Probably industrially produced. Anyway, the place is pleasant

Good tasting sorbetto and many other Italian cakes, gelato and pastries. See their frozen section for something to take home. Good spot for a late evening snack with your date or friends, though it gets busy!

Manager treats staff very disrespectful, I will refuse and direct friends away from this establishment.

I was really wanting a good coffee at 10 PM and Amato popped up. It was super busy on a Sunday evening that the line up was outside. It was definitely worth the wait, great coffee and so many flavors of gelato!

My friend And I had a bad service on September 22nd between at 2: 30 pm and 2: 47pm. I don’t know the name the person in the store, but she has a black hair and she’s a short.

She doesn’t know what meet quality of service.

I would like to say for the manager of that amazing cafe to take time to train her how to deal with customers

Super adorable cafe with so many options.whether you want a meal, gelato or pastries! I am very thankful for all the dairy free options. The gelato is so so so delicious.

Such a cute coffee place. Had a meeting with a client here and the vibes were amazing. Order the Americano latte with the pistachio croissant and it did not disappoint. Will definitely be back!

Good selection of pastries and soft serve ice cream. Did pick up a small altercation with the staff not being supportive to each other. The girl that served us ice cream looked like she was going to burst into tears any minute!

Their gelato has always been amazing (ever since I had it from their Kensington branch). Their 17 Ave branch has just a more refined one with an ambience that makes one want to stay and enjoy with friends. Unfortunately, the one time I was there, I had a hot chocolate and I really can't rave much about it.

It's a very good experience not alot of sitting room but the line moves fast and the servers are very good. I would definitely visit this place if I want to eat icecream and I like to choose from a big selection.
I like pistachio icecream and it didn't disappoint at all.
Parking in the parking lot might be an issue depending on the traffic at the store but there is street parking avaliable.

This place is always busy every time I go here, their gelato is honestly delicious.
My only complaint is that the sugar dusted donut holes are pretty terrible, would not recommend.
I will try the cakes next time and see how those are, overall I would come back.
