Ambleside Lodge B&B

We had the pleasure of visiting Ambleside in March 2023 with our young son. The warm and inviting atmosphere was a welcome refuge from the cold and snow outside.

The lodge is walking distance from downtown Canmore making the town easy to explore on foot. You get to start your day with a delicious and hearty breakfast made by the owners.

We loved our cozy rooms and had an excellent sleep in the beds. I could spend ours in the downstairs living area cozied up on the comfortable couches in front of the fireplace.

Thank you for a memorable stay! We look forward to visiting Ambleside Lodge again as our retreat from the city and highly recommend it.

Loved our stay here! We arrived in the evening and enjoyed the complimentary coffee, tea and cookie selection. The lobby area was so cozy! The room was extremely clean and comfortable. We had to catch a morning flight the next day but our hosts woke up early and made us a delicious breakfast before we left. Definitely don’t hesitate to book this place if you are considering!

Could not have expected more from a bed and breakfast.

When we first arrived, the host and hostess was absolutely amazing in greeting us. Showed us where our room is, showed us all the amenities.

The check-in process is extremely simple and clear. The hosts did everything they could to ensure our stay was as pleasant possible. They even got a wood burning fire started for our comfort when requested. We had access to the kitchen area and had tea, coffee and hot chocolate available to us at our convinience.

The place was extremely clean. Our room and the common guest area downstairs was sanitized and spotless. The wifi is extremely fast (more than 300mb/s download speed) and we had cable TV in our room as well. There are board games downstairs in the common area for guests to enjoy. The bedding in our room is very high quality and very warm as well. The only part is the shower water pressure could be a bit higher and the water temperature knobs is a bit finicky as it tends to either get too hot or cold. But once adjusted, its fine.

Breakfast was fantastic. Hilary made us Egg Bennedict and WOW! The Hollandaise sauce is to die for, with the eggs poached perfectly and hash browns made to perfection. On our second day, we had Quiche and it was absolutely delicious!

During the duration of our stay (3 days), this place truly re-defined the phrase "home away from home". The 5/5 stars is definately well deserved.

In all my years of reading reviews, I’ve never had the desire to write one until now. Truly cannot say enough good things about this place. The house is so cozy and inviting, Kyle and Hilary are just the most wonderful hosts you’ll ever have, and the breakfasts are to-die-for! Also very walkable to downtown Canmore, which we loved even more than Banff. We came for the mountains and winter activities but got so much more out of the experience by staying here. Do yourself a favor— skip the hotels and have a more memorable time here, while supporting a local small business.

Anne and Brian were accommodating and friendly. Their space is beautiful and my partner and I had a lovely stay. The bnb is split into bedrooms upstairs, and a main common living area + kitchen. The breakfast was fantastic and they even gave great recommendations for local things to do. They book out quite quickly and often months in advance, so if we are ever in the area and lucky enough to stay again, we will definitely come again.

We stayed for a night here for our anniversary and it was absolutely wonderful! The hosts were super friendly, the room was beautiful and clean, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious! We loved how quiet and comfortable the room was (we stayed in the mountain room), and how comfortable the bed was, and that there was Netflix and wifi so we could hang out there before bed. We will be going again for sure!

We had an amazing experience at Ambleside Lodge. Our hosts Hillary and Kyle were super lovely and easy to communicate with! Instructions were precise and easy to follow before check-in. The breakfast Hillary made us was top notch. She had starters and then main after. We were happy to stumble upon this lodge on our search as it was for our anniversary and birthday! Would love to return again.

My girlfriend and I have been at this place 3 times now and it won't be the last. Not only is the accommodation amazing but the service is just top-notch! I highly recommend you check out this spot!

Very clean and comfortable, I slept better there than I have anywhere else in years. The breakfast was fantastic as well.

I booked the Mountain Room for my boyfriends birthday! We showed up and we’re absolutely amazed when we walked inside. Beautiful natural sunlight, huge windows and amazing views. Our bedroom had natural sunlight and you could see the mountains from our bedroom window. The bathroom was absolutely stunning with natural sunlight and a beautiful sink. We were very relaxed, the house was quiet and peaceful. We came downstairs for breakfast and were served coffee and orange juice with a starter. For breakfast she made waffles with apples and sausage. It was a very very good breakfast and perfect way to start our trip. Thank you so much for everything and we can’t wait to come back! Great food and great people!

Hillary was great, the food was excellent, and everything was well kept, cozy, and fun. Absolutely no complaints; I am very likely to seek this out or recommend it to anybody staying for a night or two in canmore.
