Went here for lunch with friends on Thanksgiving Day. I think the lady was only working by herself. A lot of the dishes on the menu were sold out. I tried the Pulled Charsiu Rice Bowl, it was very small, like a side dish. Taste was okay though. I thought it was too expensive for $15 but maybe it was expensive because apparently it used premium Japanese as per the menu on their website. My friends have also commented that there was nothing too special on their ramen dishes.

Located in the lower level of the Kirby Lane Mall, this is a gem! I had the miso ramen and it was perfect for a chilly evening.

Small restaurant hidden in the lower level of a building. Not very noticeable from the outside. We stumbled into this place when looking into the coffee shop on the street.

The flavors of the ramen are delicious and so fulfilling. A great stop on a cold day or after a great day hike.

Very good small ramen bar. The ramen where one of the best I have ever eaten and the people there are just friendly and kind, sad, that they have no karage.: (They have no sign or something from outside of the building. There is a sign in the building but not outside on the street.

First, there has no cold water provided, the most basic requirement for a ramen shop. No comment, black listed.
Second, broth taste normal, no taste of bone or miso.
Third, zero customisation. No choice on noodle texture or broth thickness.
Forth, tasteless egg. Marinated with soya sauce but I cant taste any egg. Please source some better egg with richer taste.
Fifth, cha siu and egg not included for some ramen. What the hack?

My friend and I got the gochu-miso and we both enjoyed it! It was quite spicy but enjoyable if you can handle the spice. The broth was silky smooth and balanced. I wish there was 1 more dense topping to help with the slice but overall, really good. I liked the variety of available ramen, some.option I've never seen before in Toronto ramen bars.
The prices were 2$ more than the photos in the reviews so I uploaded a new menu. Extra toppings are quite expensive.

Ramen here was sooo delicious! Much needed on a cold winter night! I tried the Miso Tan-tan and Miso Kimchi, ($17.80 each) both broths were rich and bursting with flavour! I really enjoyed the Miso Kimchi the most. You can tell that the broth was prepared with great care and effort for it to taste as divine as it did! The restaurant is on the small side, has about 7-10 seats. Luckily getting a seat wasn't too difficult when we came in. Highly recommend!

We were on the lookout for some ramen and this place came up recommended. It’s a little place in a small centre downstairs, but this did not disappoint! The ramen broth was delicious, spicy and so flavourful. And the minced tofu was perfect with it. The lady serving us was very friendly and brought our food out very quickly also. Definitely worth trying out if you’re in Banff!

Tried the Vegan tan-tan and the Miso tan-tan. They both tasted great. Of the two if I have to choose I would get the miso tan tan as its unique and different from what I have previously tried. The ingredients were fresh and the quantity was good.

This may be the best ramen I’ve ever had. The flavors were incredible. And a very cute, clean cafe, too!

Food was good but the owner/server wasn’t welcoming. Felt bit expensive as compare to other places in the area. Not an expert of Japanese food ingredients to judge but the taste wasn’t as good as rest of the restaurant in Banff or even Canmore.

First off this place does not have any signage that is visible from Banff avenue. You'll find it at 199 Banff- which is Kirby Lane mall entrance. Just go through the doors and walk straight downstairs.

This is bar seating with a counter that allows maybe 10 persons total. So if it's busy you might have a bit of a wait.

Staff is friendly and took our order quickly. I had the Tan Tan ramen which was pretty good. My GF had the shoyu paitin (?) ramen which was really good. The noodles were perfectly done. For reference I live in Hawaii and we have lots of very good ramen shops and I've been to Japan and had tons of ramen there as well. Is this "the best" nope. But you're not in Japan are you? So make do with what I would consider top 3 I've eaten outside of Japan.

Price is about 16 CAD for their ramen with extras all adding to that, mushrooms, egg, char shu etc can really add up fast so be aware. They do have a web site so you can see the current base price there.

BEWARE of the short hair lady here, she looked pretty upset once w3 stepped in the store and then later on had a terrible attitude towards us. There were the only 2 of us there at the time and 2 ladies working in the kitchen. After I placed the order for 5-10 minutes, I looked over the kitchen and saw that they were not working on my order, but rather washing some dishes. The short-hair woman saw me peaking into their kitchen and yelled at me. I was like “Chill lady, I’m hungry so I just wanted to see what takes you so long when you only have 2 customers (us) ”. Well I wouldn’t be able to swallow anything after that so I just walked away. Such a terrible customer service at my favorite city.

The ramen was not good at all. We ordered two bowls and both had no flavor. The pork was hard and the noodles were so chewy. We took a few bites and couldn't even finish. If you want good ramen, go to Ramen Arashi. Their ramen is way better.

Delicious ramen, however the portions are far too small for the price. We had to get another meal afterwards, which isn't ideal considering the food here is not cheap. I got the rice bowl and was shocked when it came out. It looked like an entrée. They weren't friendly either.

I personally prefer more authentic broth rather than thick creamy ones. If you personally like the creamy one, feel free to try. I just found it too thick for me and it wasn’t what I was looking for

The soup is rich but not overly salty. The noodles have the perfect chew. Everything is simple but treated with care. Excellent ramen.

Ordered spicy ramen miso soup base and mapo tofu bowl.ramen was delicious but mapo tofu with little mapo tofu and not much sauce.

The poor lady doing dishes and cooking the ramen was running the entire restaurant by herself. She was very polite and a good server. Unfortunately since she was so rushed the noodles were way undercooked. The ramen bowl was pricey and then they charge extra for toppings that should already be in the ramen at no extra cost. Corn for example is an extra 2.50. You get one slice of pork. Every ramen place I’ve been to you get 2 slices of meat. The broth was pretty good. Overall it just wasn’t that good. We ordered 3 bowls of ramen and 2 drinks. Our order came to over 80$

This place made me feel like I was in Japan again! I ordered Tan Tan Ramen, which was so delicious and flavourful! The customer service was excellent and the prices were reasonable.

Nice hidden ramen bar that will remind you of Japan.
I went with their tantan, and also had some edamame on the side. The ramen was nice and nutty, and had good flavour. Quite a small portion for the price, but it's probably because we're in Banff.
The edamame we got was over steamed to the point the outer skin was just falling apart when we bit into it.
Overall it was a decent meal, and the staff were all very nice.

Probably the best ramen I’ve ever had! Great vegetarian options, would easily eat here again. The location is a bit hidden- enter the door between little wild cafe and the gift shop, and walk downstairs.

Amazing comfort food! The ramen broth is creamy, dense, and delicious. The noodles are chewy and cooked perfectly. Portion size is decent for the price and the takeout packaging is nice and tidy. The interior is quite small with just a few seats available as it’s a ramen noodle bar. A great place to enjoy a hot noodle bowl on a cold day. Check this out!

I just noticed that the price has gone up several times during a year as I looked at the reviews and it was even raised by a month ago. So I leave a picture of the menu for your convenience.

I understand its in BANFF but still too pricy.
Taste was okay, and rice was high quality but the food portion was too little (especially rice bowl) and price was so high.
They will charge you every single toppings other than the very basic stuffs.

If you wanna eat like the reviewed ramen picture, you will have to add tamago and extra charsiu which will bump ur ramen price about $10 more for toppings.

I didnt want to reply the owner's reply but,

1. I get that the cost is gone up and understand the place is too small to have more people at a time,
But simply look around other businesses in banff. Is this place the ONLY business that is impacted cost problem?

We all have struggled with it, and I dont know how much you struggle i believe that there is a reason. So people who think it is reasonable, they will still go.

But in my personal opinion, if you want to make your customers carry the burden, your food should be specialized and high quality with real authentic taste but it was not. I tried so mamy different ramen places even in Japan, but in my opinion, it was good but not worthy with the price.

2. This is the REVIEW that I have wanted to know before visit the place. Price was not the same, toppings are all extra which is no one mentioned.
I think it is good to know so I wrote it and leave the picture of menu.

3. Dont make me an ignorant and inconsiderate person because I wrote about the price. This is how I feel, and seems like some other people felt the same way. Market is all mess about demand and supply.

Clean place to eat with amazing ramen. Would rank this place above most Vancouver ramen establishments.

Delicious ramen, cool ramen bar vibes, and all around amazing service. Tbh I think it’s the best ramen place I’ve found in Alberta so far.
