Dr Bennet took her time to examine my cat and explain all of the options to me and coached me in making the best decision for my cat. I am hopeful that I'm on the right track and my cat will soon be feeling his regular old self.

The people who work at this Clinic and particularly Dr. Joe are wonderful and compassionate. Today I had the unenviable duty of bring my 18 year old Westie in to be euthanized. They set us up in a nice room and Dr. Joe came in to explain everything.
Things went very smoothly and even staff had teary eyes.
I’d like to thank them for making the hardest part of owning a pet a little easier.
This clinic is fantastic. They are true pet lovers who engage with you and your pets with honesty, integrity and passion.

They’re not only great to cats but also to the owners, very honest and follow up on care. Always on time and give you and your cat time to settle into the examination room when you arrive.

They got my cat in within four hours during some of their busiest times. And I was a new patient. Decent prices. Honest workers. And the Dr. Didn't push for crazy tests and meds that he knew I couldn't afford. All honorable stuff in my books. Happy to have a new clinic.

Hands down one of the best vet clinics in the city. Dr. Joe Waldman has been my cat's vet for over 14 years. He is knowledgable, up to date with the latest research, considerate, and fair. He has respectfully answered all of my questions and I leave knowing my cats are well taken care of. Five years after my initial review and the review is still accurate!

The nicest Dr and staff! My dog usually takes a long time before stepping into any vet clinics but he cruised right in like it was his home. I’m glad they were able to assess my dog thoroughly despite him being unexpectedly snappy at times. Thank you so much for your care!

Our former vet retired and so we went on a hunt for a new one and luckily found one that's very close to home and excellent.
Dr Joe is a treasure and our cat likes him too. He is realistic in his treatment plans and I never feel rushed. Dr Fleur was so helpful in providing advice and reassuring us by phone when we woke up to a box of half eaten chocolates on the floor courtesy of our cat. (he was fine!).

This is a wonderful downtown Animal Clinic. Dr. Joe and his staff are wonderful. They took good care of my aging Blk Lab who had to be put down in May. Now they are taking good care of my Blk Lab puppy. Thank you!

Took my dog Tucker here for the first time today and had such a great experience. They were so kind with Tucker giving him lots of cuddles to make sure he felt comfortable, they took time to understand his health history and explained everything in detail to me. Everyone was super knowledge and extremely welcoming and friendly!

Dr. Fleur is amazing! They explain everything very well & have been really amazing with my elderly cat!

I've read good reviews about this clinic so I'd decided to move my dog to this vet (from one that doesn't even want to touch my puppy). We went there and for some reason, my puppy didn't even want to get into the bldg. My puppy was almost 1 year old then and weighs 91 lbs so there's no way I can force her in. I phoned the clinic and right away someone came out and tried to help. That alone justified their good reviews I've read online that they care. We ended up coming back the next day and the vet was so helpful and examined my dog thoroughly. Thank you.

Top notch clinic

This is an exceptional animal clinic. I brought my new kitten in for her shots after having to put my previous cat down at another clinic a couple weeks before, and Dr. Joe was incredibly kind. He asked questions about my other cats Illness and provided insight, which made me feel a lot better about having to put her down. He was great with my new kitten, very gentle and thorough. You can tell how much he cares for animals. My parents also go to Dr. Joe, and have always had very positive interactions and experiences. The front desk staff were also very warm and friendly, and called to check in on my kitten after her appointments, which was really nice because I know how busy they are. I would highly recommend this clinic, and especially Dr. Joe.

I’ve been going to this clinic for over 20 years. Amazing care from everyone who works here. Dr. Waldman is a vet who will help you care for your pet but not force you to pay for things you don’t need.

Dr. Jo and the entire staff are fantastic. This is our pet's second home away from home and we trust them whole heartly.

I was searching for a new vet as my last one just seemed to give medication. The vet was so friendly and made my kitty feel like she was the cutest. The doctor was so gentle and provided me with so much knowledge as I was a new pet owner.

Joe continues to be a compassionate and knowledgeable veterinarian. He and his clinic are kind, knowledgeable and will do whatever they can to help you furry family members. I feel thankful to have such a great place to take care of my pets.

I've taken my little bit chubby kitty, Charly, to see both Dr. Joe and Dr. Fleur - they were both great and made me feel like she is just fine. They both gave me suggestions on feeding ideas so maybe Charly might lose a bit of weight over time. But I definitely felt reassured that my baby is okay and now I have finally stopped worrying. I would definitely recommend Animal Clinic to anyone with a pet. I feel lucky that Charly and I have care and support from these two great vets. Thank you

If there was more than 5 stars to give they would have it. We recently changed our vet to this one and it was the best decision. I felt very save and comfortable bringing my little puppy here! It’s very clean and welcoming! The staff are amazing and the vet was full of amazing tips and information! The clinic is super cute and clean, felt welcoming.
After having a mishap with some shampoo and a rash, she reassured us that his breed was very hypersensitive and will react to anything. Felt like a safe place to ask any question we had and she was full of amazing information and tips for us! She explained everything that she was doing without us asking and it felt reassuring that he was well looked after! They are very transparent with their pricing and affordable. Would recommend to everyone!

Dr Bennett saw my dog for vaccines and check up. She was so gentle with Frodo, very compassionate person. She spent a lot of time answering questions, and I would recommend this clinic for all your pets health needs.

We've been taking our animals to see Joe for the past 10 years or so and we can't recommend him the clinic highly enough.

They are incredibly compassionate and kind, and our furbabies are always in the best hands. They are super quick to respond, always take the time to answer questions and we've always found the pricing fair.

Recently moved to Calgary and needed a new Vet for our 2 cats. My wife and I were really happy with the service we received when we brought our cat in to get his glucose checked and get a new insulin prescription. Very professional and nice location lots of parking

The landslide of five-star reviews do not lie. The admin team at this clinic is friendly, efficient and excellent w/ general communications, providing instructions and timely medication orders.

My cats and I have traveled extensively, and thus, we have seen our fair share of veterinarians. I must say, Dr. Joe's manner and approach with animals is incomparable to any other vet we have ever visited and he has a wonderful sense of humour and is very personable. My cats were so relaxed that they were actually able to down a few treats during their visit (first time ever!) and they hardly made a peep during their checkups. They usually get riled up when their teeth are being checked and of course, when they have to get shots, but Dr. Joe was able to accomplish these tasks so gently that my cats didn't kick up a fuss at all.

Dr. Joe took his time w/ us during the visit and he made sure that all of my questions were answered and that all concerns were addressed. To add, it was obvious to me that Dr. Joe's priority was to provide the best treatment plan for my cats, while also keeping things as economically sound as possible for me, the pet owner. There was absolutely no "hard selling" happening here!

Regarding parking, there is reserved parking for the clinic behind the building so if your concerns about this "downtown" clinic is about parking, no worries. Parking is a cinch. To wrap up this review, our visit was so pleasant and refreshing in a sense that I am grateful to know that there are still service providers like this out there.

Since our arrival to Calgary, We choose this Clinic for our Labradoodle out of convenience, it was close to our place. We were lucky enough to hit the jackpot with them, Dr. Waldman and all the staff are awesome. We moved from our former place, but continue to attend our yearly appointments and every time we need something for "Duke". We recommend them 100%, a great experience with a very knowledgeable clinician.

The vets and staff at the 9th Ave Animal Clinic are lovely. They're very good with the cat, but I find I really enjoy the education I get every time I visit. I really appreciate the solid, science-based advice I get at every visit. Kitty is just fine, and I feel better and more educated every time I go. Thanks to all the staff for your patient and caring attention.

We have been bringing are dog Munroe to Dr. Joe and the amazing team at the Animal Clinic for over 10 years now. We trust Dr. Waldman very much, he is always calm, pragmatic and friendly. The rest of the team follows his lead and is always every helpful on phone calls, emails and food orders.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. They have always answered my questions and my kitty loves them.

Dr. Fleur was friendly, helpful, informative and genuinely cared about my dog’s wellbeing. The staff were very friendly. My dog liked them so much that when we walk by the clinic she drags me to the door and I have to pull her away to continue our walk.

I have been going to this vet for four years and it has been extremely positive. The front staff are extremely friendly and took the time to learn the name of myself and my dog. The vets are amazing and you get the sense they are doing the best they can with no second guessing if they are padding your bill. Highly recommend

Great clinic! Very compassionate staff, and Joe is a wonderful veterinarian! We have been clients for MANY years. My boys have many medical issues, and the care and compassion shown for my pets, was unbeatable. They always made themselves available whenever an emergency came up. We're regular patients here now and will be forever more! Great reception, wonderful care. NOT deep diggers like too many vets out there. These Vets are here for the well being of your pet - DONE. They're not pushing a finger brish and paste on those who come in with a new puppy to examine! THAT's a dead giveaway of a Vets true concern don't you agree? What's a REAL rare find these days? It's when shortly after seeing Dr. Fleur with my dogs ailment, there are follow up phone calls regarding his well being. And jo, not just the first visit to make a good impression, but after EVERY visit! Yes. Voluntarily and with genuine sincerity. Not since losing my vet of 25 years, Dr. Torrance to retirement, have I found a vet that even comes CLOSE to his care. AND BELIEVE ME, I have tried! I've looked all over this city, even out of town, hoping to find one that comes close to what Dr. T had me use to. Living downtown had us visit here out of convenience, and BAM! The Lord works in mysterious ways! Wouldn't you know it? I found her when I stopped looking Absolutely one of a kind vet care here from your cirst call in, right through to healing. You'll have to tear me away from Dr. Fleur and this downtown Animal Clinic! Go ahead, prove me wrong! You can thank me later.

I will keep it short staff answering the phone was very uncoptive and rude.then the other person was a little better but still the same I don't know if one of them were the doctor I hope not cause I wouldn't want to be treated like that if I went there I give one star and that's for them answering the phone.

Dr. Waldman was recommended to me by a veterinary specialist who follows my dogs and I'm so pleased that he is now our primary vet. He has a very thoughtful, evidence based approach. He is thorough and spends time with his patients and their owners. I highly recommend this clinic.

Wonderful vet clinic. I have had nothing but positive experiences with them. After my cat died at another vet getting anaesthesia for a spay, I was understandably anxious about veterinarian care. These vets have been so good at taking the time to talk with me, and I feel my cats are in excellent hands!

I've been taking my dog here since I got him. They have neutered him, fixed an umbilical hernia, helped treat his skin issues, and more! Their times fit around my schedule, and the prices aren't bad considering the service. Dr. Fleur and Dr. Joe are always willing to listen to concerns and never make me feel rushed through the appointment.

Just thought I would share this info. Called this morning to get an appointment for our new pup and spoke to “Liz”. I had gone online and filled out new client forms and called to follow up for an appointment. Liz was extremely rude…put me on hold and said that “ oh as of last week they are NOT ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS”. I suggested that this information should be on the website as front and center if they are not taking new clients. I asked to speak to the manager of the clinic and “ she is away on holidays”.
I will definitely follow up with the manager as it sounded more like Liz didn’t want to bother taking in new business.

My dogs have always been well cared for by staff at the Animal Clinic. There is no other option for veterinary services in Calgary! Mike S

I have been taking my pets to see a veterinarian at the Animal Clinic for over 40 years. Veterinarians are knowledgeable and up to date on what is going on. The staff are friendly and caring. If you are looking for somewhere to take your pets, I highly recommend to to this Animal Clinic.

I have been going to this clinic since the early 70's. Many pets. We have always been treated with respect, professionalism and compassion. I will continue to bring my pets to this clinic.

I want to thank Dr. Joe and staff. Sooo thorough and caring! I took my 14 year old cat Cheshire in to see Dr. Joe. She was clearly very sick, and as a Manx, she is beyond a "normal" lifespan. I thought this is probably going to lead to something serious. And also I do not have a lot of money to pay for expensive tests. Well after two visits and a medication she is returning to her normal self. In two week I'll take Cheshire back for a an evaluation; however I'll feel differently going to see Dr.joe than the last time. I feel very confident in his care.

Big fan of this place. Dr. Joe is great and pragmatic when it comes to treatment and that really help me feel at ease. My poor Boston had two surgeries for mass cells so I had my fair share of anxiety and I’m glad I came here.

This is one of Calgary's finest veterinary clinics. The staff is extremely responsible and loving towards our pets, and they explain everything they do and how it works. I've been visiting for a year and have had no problems. Keep up the good work.

Called twice, both times got sass from the receptionist.
First, it was "Well, we don't have any appointments until August so you should just book somewhere else". Should have left it at that, but they are the closets to my home.
The second time I called to see if I could move up my appointment cause they told me earlier they are getting a lot of last-minute cancellations and no-shows and I got "Yea, well, we aren't taking any new patients so I doubt there is anything"

I get it, they are probably very busy, but their self-righteousness was not apricated or required.

My favourite vet clinic thus far! Dr. Joe Waldman and his staff go the extra mile every time. They are very patient and caring (with us and our dog!), always checking in after appointments and willing to answer questions over phone or email. We are very appreciative of their team and would highly recommend.

The best place to take your loved ones. Joe is a great vet and compassionate, for you and your pets. He is honest and will walk you through the best treatment.

Dr. Fleur, Dr Joe and all the staff at the Animal Clinic are fantastic. We take our bad boy Thumper to them all the time and they are always so caring, helpful and patient. Always a smile and always take the time to explain everything. Thumper, to say the least, is a very difficult cat but all people here are patient and caring along with a great sense of humour.
I recommend this animal clinic to everyone.

This vet experience is always warm and professional. My Joey can be a skittish, or reactive beast in certain company, and she happily wags her tail in and out of her sessions at this Animal Clinic. The care we received was informative, and supportive which made dropping her off in Covid style much more comfortable.

The care this Clinic provides is exceptional, and I am glad to recommend Animal Clinic to any dog owner. Bella is the 2nd dog that we have taken to the Clinic and to the care of Dr. Joe Waldman and his Team, and I can't imagine there is a better service and care for our pup.

Staff are great and accommodating! Prices are decent for being downtown. Dr. Joe Waldman is a no-nonsense Vet, who is gentle and doesn't do unnecessary testing.

I've had several really good experiences here. It's a no frills, but fully capable veterinary outfit, with caring staff and a full surgical facility. Their prices are reasonable and in the mid-range, which is great given thier prime downtown location.

Dr. Waldman took the time to explain things to my wife and I in detail, and we left feeling like we really knew all we needed to manage our kitty's health issue.

The reception staff here are the WORST. I got an automated message to book my dog for his annual visit. Booked it online with confirmation. Took the day off work to make sure I could be there. Then got a very rude voicemail from one of the staff scolding me for not making an appointment and letting me know it was the last time they were going to try to contact me for the checkup. Weird. I called back and the other receptionist had no idea about who called and I found out I wasn't even booked in for when my appointment was scheduled. So I ended up taking the day off work for nothing. When I forwarded the booked appointment email to her I got no help or apology for the inconvenience just "oh there was a glitch in our system". If this is the first impression I get before I my pet even gets through the door I'd rather take my business elsewhere.

I have been taking my animals here for years and they always receive outstanding care! Dr. Joe is the best and the staff is always so caring. I would recommend this clinic to anyone looking for professional and friendly care for their pets!

Aninal Clinic has been amazing with us since getting our new puppy and becoming a client! They are so helpful, knowledagble and non judgemental when we ask what seem like 10000 questions a dog owner should probably know. You can sense their compassion and concern when you are asking questions and can tell they want to solve the issue or give you the right advice.

The ladies are so friendly at the front. They have accommodated appointment changes or urgent appointments.

We see Joe for our now 6 month old golden and he’s very honest, informative and to the point which we appreciate!

After reading numerous reviews of clinics in Calgary online, I decided to try Animal Clinic. I attended with my new puppy yesterday for a check up and some vaccines. I cannot rave enough about our experience so far. All the staff, especially Dr. Fleur, were very knowledgeable and thorough. I had numerous questions about life with Beau (feeding, exercise, vaccines, travel) and each question was answered with detail. Beau was treated with so much care and love. They even called today to check on Beau after his vaccine treatment. The clinic itself is very clean and comfortable. We will definitely be recommending this clinic.

I’ve been a pet owner my entire life and Dr. Joe is the best vet I’ve ever had the privilege and comfort to visit. He is an awesome combination of practical, knowledgeable and kind. An absolute master in his field and there’s no one else I’d trust with the health and well-being of my two dogs.

Dr Joe takes the time to answer questions and did a thorough check up on our new rescue. While there were a few issues with our dog, he prioritized them so that we and our dog would not get stressed out by too many treatments at once. We highly recommend dr Joe and his staff.

These guys took my 7 month kitten, neutered him and had him more comfortable after his surgery compared to my other cats experience with her surgery at the old vet. Would recommend!

The 9th Ave Animal Clinic was recommended very highly to us by close friends. We were immediately impressed when we took our cat there. The vet took the time to befriend the cat and establish a nice connection with him right away. He was very helpful and addressed all of our concerns. He was gentle, so our cat did not even seem to notice when he got his injections. We were extremely happy we found this clinic and have recommended it to several people since our visit.

Dr Joe and his staff are extra kind and friendly. They completely understand the emotions that their customers and their pets are going through. I can’t imagine trusting my pet with anyone else.

I brought my 6 year old cat to the Animal Clinic this year after getting a recommendation from a friend. (I had previously tried making an appointment at a different clinic closer to my home and was hung up on after telling them she hadn’t had a vaccine in a few years). Everyone at the Animal Clinic was great! They were very helpful, super polite, and they were amazing with my cat. She was purring the entire time! The doctor made several recommendations that addressed my concerns but was not pushy at all, it was a great experience!:)

Dr. Waldman was excellent. He fit us in quickly after our dog Charlie ingested some mushrooms in the Jumbo Glacier area near Invermere and was quite sick. Dr. Waldman took lots of time with us and answered all of our questions, thoroughly examined Charlie and gave us options for treatment of a lump that had appeared in his mouth. Having had other experiences with Vet offices trying to "up-sell" services, insurance and products I found Dr. Waldman to be much more professional and truly caring about his patients first and foremost. We will continue to use this clinic for Charlie without a doubt.

The Animal Clinic at 9th Ave has helped take such good care of my elderly dog! I was able to have realistic, fact based conversations with the vets there while being offered the compassion of people who truly love animals and care about your pet. I always gelt the advice I received made sense and was never once pushed into needless, expensive procedures. They also were able to fit my dog in multiple times at late notice when she wasn't well, and called to follow up on her condition later that week. I can't speak highly enough of these kind, compassionate, and knowledgable people!
