I've been bringing my cats here exclusively and have not been let down. The team is awesome, friendly, and dedicated to the work they do. The emergency services offered are beyond appreciated. Massive thank you to AMCS from my cats and myself!

My dog Hank got very sick. Dr. Jan and the vet student (sorry cannot remember her name) treated her and me with kindness and such a gentle approach. Truly amazing, compassionate and kind.

We always receive great service at Animal Medical Centre South. The staff and especially Dr. Kendra, are very caring and take the time they need with every pet to make sure that they are well looked after. They are also very reasonably priced.

Very clean facility, very polite receptionists and very knowledgeable staff.
- prices are a bit higher but the services included are from ear to tail.

ADDENDUM: May 5th, 2023

Just today, I received My Marvin Muffin's paw prints in the mail. I was overjoyed and wept considerably. I miss him so much, still, it takes my breath away.

I believe that the clinic was so quick in turn around time, the prints were sent to a previous address on file before I had a chance to address the change.

Just today, I was at that mail box and found a beautiful hand written card of condolence with My Marvin Muffin's inked paper paw prints. I'm so happy to have them. I miss him so much, it's palpable.

I wanted to amend my previous comments and adjust the review star rating.

PREVIOUSLY: My fur baby My Marvin Muffin was put to sleep at this clinic on December 14th/22, on a Wednesday. I was asked if I'd like a paper print of his paws, and indeed I did, since anything else, like urns and ashes are available for those with affordable means. I thought, that would be lovely since I had nothing else to show for on that day. So, I waited, and waited, and waited and called, and called, and called.only to be told, repeatedly, that someone would call me back, or that all cards and letters had been sent. Finally, after five attempts, someone explained that I should go to the post office for lost mail! Yes, mail can be lost. Highly unlikely in this case.

It took time, effort, and anguish to keep calling to find out what happened to the paw prints. I'm so disappointed in the handling of this.

For six weeks, the only thing I've looked forward to since his death were his paw prints in my mailbox. They never came, nor did I receive a call back from this clinic after five attempts regarding the prints. Disappointing, at best!

Always have great service! They are kind, caring and know their stuff!

My pup needed a hip surgery, it went amazing, the staff took such good care of my pup, and kept me informed every step of the way.would recommend!

I changed Clinics just over a year ago for 2 reasons, one was it was closer to my Home, the other was at that time their fees were less than my other one, I am on a fixed income so Vet bills are a luxury for me. I have found the Staff to be pleasant and helpful. The Vets are knowledgeable and caring.

My dog was attacked by another dog and they took very good care of him. He is doing much better it has been a year since we had to go there. They are very caring and took good care of him like he was part of there family.

Had to use their emergency drop off for my cat. They were very friendly and competent. Explained everything to me in terms I could understand. I will go back!

I cannot recommend this center enough. Our puppy was attacked by a Pit Bull when we were out of town on the long weekend. We needed to drive an hour to find her the medical care she required. We were refused service at other vet clinics in Medicine Hat because we were not existing clients. Dr. Dooley met us at the center and provided the medical attention our pet needed. She was kind, compassionate, professional, and most of all, saved our pets life. I cannot express enough how grateful I am to Dr. Dooley.

Thank-you to Dr. Jan for seeing our Charlee for an after hours emergency visit. You are so caring and your love for animals was evident. We truly appreciate your help and advice.

Only vet in the city that will take care of my tortoise so I don't need to travel to Calgary! Always happy and friendly!

All the staff are amazing. Our little girl swallowed something she shouldn’t have so I made an emergency call to the vet. They told me to bring her in and Dr. Chelsey was amazing. She phoned me multiple times during the day to let me know what was going on and then we came up with a game plan for the weekend to hopefully push out the object. Unfortunately it didn’t come out so Monday we were back at the vets office. Dr Kendra was equally as amazing! Both vets put my mind at ease and made me feel more comfortable about the situation. Dr Bryony has administered all my puppies vaccinations and she is so caring and does great with my girls sassiness. I feel very confident in everyone there to take great care of our puppy and highly recommended this office.

Everyone was SO great! I had my daughter with me and they helped me get in and out as she was in a stroller. Everyone that met Gus was so gentle and loving

I will never go back! They lost my business. Took my dog there to get put down and I let them know that he has never been there and she said okay, it will be this amount. I book the appointment and we take him in and we pay up front. Then they come back into the room and want to charge us for a exam because he's never been there. He's 16 years old and can barely walk! What the hell do we need to pay for an exam for? Then they couldn't get a vein and when they did, they did not give enough to put him down. Worst experience ever! Then I phoned back to complain and the office manager could have cared a less.

All the staff I have had the pleasure of interacting with are professional and honest. I have had to take my emergency foster and my Benji for care and thus far I have had a great experience. I am also grateful that their fees are reasonable and easier on my budget.

Have dealt with you for years with my pets, have not a bad thing to say, you have always been super helpful and I will continue to come to you with all my pets needs

This is the best vet in town! The staff are very kind and patient (I had a grumpy dog that wasn't keen on strangers and they were so patient with him) I cannot say enough good things about Animal Medical!

I have been going here for many years, will continue to going for years to come. Always professional, friendly, caring, and helpful. They also follow up to make sure everything is all good with your pet.

Everyone was so helpful and caring with Arlo! The staff took such good care of him during his emergency stay, and was more than willing to answer my 10,000 questions everyday for 3 days haha!

My first experience with Animal Medical Centre South unfortunately was due to an emergency after hours visit with my pup. The first place I called would not accept us due to not being a current patient. I explained we were new to the city and they still would not help (never in a million years would I have expected to be denied service but you learn something new everyday), but they did refer us here. Funny enough this clinic was my first choice but in rushing to find a vet I missed the emergency number listed on the website. Thankfully Dr. Kendra was willing to come into the clinic and look at my dog Cash in the middle of the night. She was professional and compassionate. We were even able to come back later the same morning when the clinic was open for additional testing. I 100% recommend this clinic and Dr. Kendra.

Professional, personal, caring, compassionate is how I would describe Animal Medical Centre South staff.

Last week we had an emergency after hours with our baby Pygmy, Max. The 2 vets (I am sorry I can’t remember their names, I was so distraught) came out and helped our little guy. They were very compassionate and caring about his required needs. Gave us our options, and a direct action plan.

We chose to have Max’s leg amputated. It was a very, very hard decision. But the surgery vet, was very patient, caring and explained every question we had with understanding.

When I went to pick our Max up, Amy was very thoughtful and thorough on after care.

Thank you for saving my Max. His twin sister Ruby was very happy to have him back in the herd!

Had to get my cat in last minute as he cut his oaw very bad. They got me in same day and didn't charge my a fortune to get him fixed up.

The vet took the time to have a lengthy discussion with us over the phone about our two year old French bulldog as we had just adopted him and had questions and weren’t able to come in with him because of COVID-19. It was the longest discussion with a doctor we’ve ever had (even with our own) and we really appreciated her taking the time to explain everything and make recommendations on his best course of treatment for his allergies which included saving us some money by telling us to wait to do allergy testing and just start with a restricted diet and see how he is in a few weeks. We love this clinic and trust them implicitly with our animals care.

The staff went above and beyond to find answers for my sick cat and made the whole experience more calming for the both of us! They called for updates and were genuinely concerned for his well being! They helped save my baby’s life and I couldn’t be more grateful!

There was nothing that could have been better! Outstanding care for my pets and because i was rushing out the door with a mad cat and a wild toddler i couldnt find the door for the kennel so i had to improvise. Came to pick my cat up and here they gave me a new kennel that was donated to them. Here i was going to run to petsmart and buy a new one and they just gave me one! That small gesture made my day hands down! Saved me some money but more importantly i didnt have to drag my toddler into a store and i could get my fur baby home to rest. Thank you for your compassion and hard work.

Fantastic clinic with friendly and helpful front desk staff. Dr. Dooley is a wonderful person and veterinarian. I couldn’t be happier, or luckier to have them taking care of my little girl.

Our dog cut her foot quite bad on a Saturday, the business closed at 2pm we called shortly after 2 and they had not left the clinic yet. They charged us $125 after hours charge, plus $65 examination fee, as well as this they charge $44 for every 10 minutes of surgery and every thing else, even basically down to the cost of the paper for the bill and amount of ink to print it. We paid the same amount in Maple Creek to spay her which is a fairly involved operation to paying for a few stitches here. I don't feel the employees that work here care about animals, their main goal is about how much money they can make!

I called yesterday because my four year old cat was sick. They told me to bring her in right away. All throughout the day.the vet would personally call me to give me updates, ask the questions she needed in hopes of getting to the bottom of what was wrong with her. Sadly it was acute kidney failure most likely caused by something toxic she ingested. I will never know and will have to live with the guilt. The decision was made to euthanize her that same night. They let us sit in the room with her and they were patient and gave us the time we needed before we were ready. They talked to us about different options, such as getting her paw print and how we wanted her remains disposed of. I'm devastated by her sudden loss but they did everything they could. Thank you to the staff.

Had really great service and help from Dr. Kendra and support staff.
I called at 10AM and am extremely grateful, they got me in at 1: 30PM on a cancellation because I had a sick dog.

I came home an hour later with peace of mind and a modest selection of drugs that have my girl feeling 100% within a few days. They called the next day to follow up and make sure my dog was on the mend as well.

I appreciate that I wasn't pressured / shamed into paying for expensive / not necessary tests like has happened at other local vets. I brought home a probiotic from AMCS that my girl had been prescribed last year elsewhere, the other local vet charged me nearly double the price for less product.

I am very grateful I switched to AMCS, and would recommend strongly.
It is worth the quick drive. Thank you.

When we needed to get in that day for our Maddy dog they fit us right in and got her on the road to recovery. Booking an appointment was quick and easy and the docs know what they are doing - keep it up gals!

Each and every single time we visit your clinic, or your team comes out on a call, we get 5 star service. Can't imagine being in business without your support.

Excellent experience! Dr. Brandt was so patient and kind with my cat. Very reasonable pricing. I would highly recommend this vet clinic.

BEWARE our 6 yr old healthy dog had dental work in Jan 2019. Before the year was up she had to be put down! Staff stated, laughed " Oh i just about hit her head on the railing" the incompetance is DISGRACEFUL!

I couldn’t ask for better care than what the staff and veterinarians have given my dogs. The staff have been very understanding and polite with us.

Dr. George was awesome with our three animals and the staff were very patient even with our very vocal and curious dog and two cats. She was very gentle and friendly with Athena our shepherd mix who didnt sit still very well for her shots, but she knew how to handle her energy and it was amazing to watch I'd recommend them to people who asked.

Animal Medical Centre South is amazing and the team was awesome and super helpful. My wife and I were panicked that our dog was hurt, we were coming from Toronto (in a new area) and the team was so nice, took care of our dog, treated him so nicely. And took us right before they were going to close on a Saturday. I couldn't praise this team enough - amazing amazing team!

The vet services that are provided at this medical centre are top notch. Animals come first here and I highly recommend them to anyone who has a pet! Awesome job people!

I was from out of town on a holiday and no other vet in Medicine Hat would help me with my dog when I needed it. For some reason pets don’t stop getting hurt just because it’s a holiday and I was seconds away from driving to Calgary. Not only did the vet personally answer the phone she arranged a time for me to come in and was so kind and amazing! The prices are incredible and the service was the best! Thank you again!

I always feel welcome and valued as a client and have no qualms about bringing any of my 3 pets there for help. My questions are always answered and I am secure in the knowledge that my animals are in safe hands. I have no suggestions on making my experience any better.

Very happy with staff, and a veterinarian who actually ask questions and you can talk to for longer than a few minutes. Our pets are very comfortable with them which says a lot.

After seeing a different vet in medicine hat, I was very disappointed. When I came into this vet office, everyone was friendly, I didnt wait very long, and they took such great care of my kitty. They didnt push any other treatments on my cat, like the past vet did. The whole appointment went by quick and easy, and now that my girl is feeling better, I will definitely be coming back. I've also recommended you guys to a couple people already, and will continue to do so. They also have an app, that gives you points for discounts or free services later on. I have never seen that before and it's a great idea, considering our pets don't have free healthcare like we do. It might be a bit of a drive to get out there, but it is absolutely worth it!
