Annabelle's Kitchen Downtown

Sad to say we were quite disappointed.
The menu online did not match the menu on offer. We both struggled to find something to enjoy.

The seating we had was quite uncomfortable being sat in a poorly thought out box seat
Service left a lot be desired had to chase after the to close out the meal, glass ware was chipped and was quite sharp.

All in all won't be returning

Fantastic option for a quick downtown lunch. A very fresh and creative light lunch menu. On the best block of Stephen Ave.

We had a lovely seat by the window with a great view of the activity on the street. The food was delicious as always and our server was attentive while giving us space. This was my second time dining here and I am looking forward to the next.

We had a delicious fresly made pizza for lunch.
Service was great and easy going.
Coffee was great.
A real treat be stop here.

Loved the beetroot salad that I ordered. Wonderful service.they could accommodate 10 people in rush hour.

Great meal and great service! Pastas were good, bruschetta was very nice (even if you had without the bread).

If you're looking for a nice quite place on stephen ave that's a bit different from the usual bars. Annabelle's is the place to be with a nice casual vibe and a menu to keep you coming back this is the place id recommend any casual sit in wine drinkers who want to get out but still have a relaxing chill evening on stephen ave!

Nice deco, great environment, cozy and romantic, food was delicious, good service. I really liked the deep fried artichoke hearts. The non alcohol Negroni wasn’t that good.

The place is short staffed on sat eve and the workers dont listen to you. Awful experience plus the waiter was so rude

Really good! Really great service and tasty food! The staff really knows their menu and wine list and she was able to give me a great food-wine pairing! Will certainly return when I’m back to Calgary!

Food and SERVICE is above and beyond. We came here with our friends and our 2 1.5 year old girls. The staff was unbelievably kind and helpful to us. From the moment they sat us and got the table ready with 2 high chairs they told us they offered cheese pizza or Mac and cheese on fresh made noodles for the little ones and asked if we would like them to out an order in right away for the girls. They said one order was enough for the girls to share and they were right, and it was by far the best Mac and cheese pasta I have ever had. The noodles were perfect and the sauce was amazing. While the girls were waiting they were hungry and they even brought pieces of orange over. The pizzas and pasta mains we all shared were incredible and they were able to accommodate my nut allergy no problem. THANK YOU to the wonderful servers we had today. We will be back again and again and this will be my new favourite lunch stop when at work.

Great food, unpretentious atmosphere, and attentive service made our business dinner a memorable one. Everyone specifically commented on how perfect a spot it was. Pizza was outstanding! Highly recommend.

Annabelle's Kitchen downtown is one of the best eating experiences I've had in Calgary.

The reason the quality was so high was that each ingredient maintained it's distinct and unique flavor. For instance, our pizza had pears, gorgonzola cheese, cured bacon and arugula on it. Asides from the arugula (which I could care less about) each individual ingredient tasted strongly and uniquely, and when combined it was delicious, especially considering the bread also complimented the dish. The same was to be said of the salad with grilled peaches (unique yet they managed both a sweet and slightly savory flavor) and the whipped focaccia where both the bread, cheese and honey had distinctly different flavor palettes but still combined magnificently.

Of the three factors I consider for food (quality, price, and quantity) quality is the one I value least, but this blew me out of the water with a 10/10 rating. Price wasn't great for me, but it also wasn't crazy either, and when factored in with the quality it was very understandable and not overpriced (which means to most people, it was pretty cheap, 8/10). The quantity as well was pretty admirable, on it's own it would have gotten a pretty decent rating to me (8/10). Both of these items are VERY rare to be found at a place were I also value quality so highly.

Was here for a business lunch. The location has been many different businesses but I like the new look and colours, softer, elegant and cozy. The food is delicious, tried the whipped feta, meatballs and olives and had the strozzapretti as my main.
For drink, I ordered the phony spritz and though it tasted good bc I removed it immediately, it looked horrible because they threw in this disgusting old piece of gone bad lime (the ones that are light brown on the outside and yellowy inside), so I suggest more attention to detail from bartender.
Service was good but not friendly at all, not sure I'd come back.

Cute restaurant with a trendy decor in the center of downtown Calgary. The menu features various antipasti, pizzas and pastas. They have an extensive wine list and the service was friendly. Pasta was tasty but the portions were small for the price. Pizza was deceiving, I found that it was dry, oversalted and greasy. From my opinion, the overall experience is nice for drinks, but not so much for food.

Charming little location with delicious food. On our servers recommendation we tried the arancini balls and the Mind Your Manners pizza. Both were outstanding. Would definitely recommend this spot!

I felt very uncomfortable as a black man in this restaurant. Others who arrived later than me were served before me. Waited an hour before I received my food and when it came it was cold and the sauce was runny. I’m giving the benefit of the doubt with two stars due to the cute look. The unwelcome feeling and afterthought treatment made me very uncomfortable. We also received no apology when the food arrived late.

The staff were incredible, the food delicious and the atmosphere inviting. After your meal, head next door to Annabelle Bar for a cozy cocktail, likely mixed for you by the owner, and some great vinyl. Both locations make the perfect date spot. And the whipped ricotta…. OMG!

The food was good. The hostess was awkward and didn't listen to the fact that we had reservations (for our anniversary). The patio was not set up for hot evenings and therefore wasn't used when the other patios on 8th Ave were all packed.

Had a great dinner with the family. Tasteful decor and enjoyed creative new tastes for pizzas and pastas.

I absolutely loved Annabelle's Kitchen! The inside of the restaurant was very clean and stunning! The food itself was remarkable, I definitely recommend this place for dinner! I went on a Tuesday evening so it was very quiet and felt private, great experience! The waiter was extremely kind too!

The staff, food and wine list were excellent. They made great recommendations about food and wine pairings. We felt very comfortable about their COVID protocols. We would highly recommend this gem!

Food was okay, I found portions were small though. Appetizers were just a bit smaller then the main meal. Ordered a bunch of appetizers and mains. But wasn't anything spectacular I would return to eat.

Restaurant is aesthetically pleasing, very chipper stuff. Pizza very interesting, not incredible.

I judge Stephen Ave restaurants based on the steaks/sirloin dish. And it was okay. Service was good. Was there with a business group of 8 in the private room in the back.

Was a little underwhelmed despite it getting great reviews online. I had the pork belly which was quite dry. Another of our party had the "grilled" octopus which came kind of soft and slimy with the webbing very noticeable. The staff was cordial and attempted to amend our order which was nice.

Lacks substance; lacks taste; lacks finess for the price.
The quite expensive charcuterie board was dropped onto the table without the usual narrative. Only some cheap salamis and simple cheese and pickles. Not even ham or dates for better cured meat. The rosted pork belly was just boiled soft, not adequately charred. The veggies, like the pork and lamb, were tasteless. A bit too generous use of chop suey like dark coloured sauce for almost everything. Hard to explain why they could not make the tea and coffee hot; just warm diluted liquids.
Quite a disappointment especially given the price. Returned to see if it improved after a few years. It was quiet on a Saturday evening so it was a fair indication. Staff was pleasant, just not well trained.
Needs better management and hope they can improve.

Absolutely amazing. This chef deserves a massive crown! Place might be trying a bit too hard to be high class. Service is great but a bit pretentious BUT THE FOOD! A long time I had both a starter and a main in the same place which were so close to perfect. Well done chef!

Everything was sublime. We shared the striploin and Pickerel fish. Both were perfectly cooked. The potatoes for each dish we're different and ecquisite. Save room for dessert!

Great food. But the staff were what made our night special. We loved every part of our meal and or night out.

Canada is not the country to go for real fine dining. But there are a few exceptions. One of these is Blink. Blink is nice and simple decorated. The service is nice, friendly and efficient. The food is excellent. I always appreciate when the staff knows about the dishes they are presenting and make suggestions to you. Well, in Blink they do. So also a good view on the customers and their needs/wishes.

I loved everything about this place. Crowded, but felt intimate. Service was perfect. The desert alone was worth the trip. Will definitely revisit the next time.

Blink Restaurant and Bar is a great restaurant to visit from beginning to end. The quality of service provided by our waiter was top notch and the flavor found in eclectic drinks was worth every penney. Every single meal from appetizer to main entree was delicious with great portion sizes. The restaurant is centrally located in St. Stephens Avenue, making it really worth visiting. I would recommend for a special ocassion or event.

Our first course and dessert were delicious. Our main dish was okay. Wasn't our favorite but also wasnt bad. We both found our main dishes a bit on the saltier side. But we still finished everything. Service was okay. Overall good food and would come back.

Fine dining, smaller portions, but tastes very well paired and very nicely cooked. Tasty, if not a tad small dor yhe price. Service was friendly, nice atmosphere. Didn't get table bread, I guess because we had an appetizer.

Not impressed won't be back. Me and a friend went on a Saturday night. The restaurant was less then half full. Our server was very unwelcoming and on several occasions just ignored that we had spoken to him at all. We ordered the ravioli for and appetizer and it was tasteless. My friend ordered the pickerel and it was just bad. I ordered the duck and was given the beef. No one seemed to care at all about the mistake. And getting my proper meal took far to long all while my friends food got cold. Once I got the duck it was very good. We paid the full (over charged) price for what was a half terrible meal. I've had much better for much less and where servers gave a damn about what they were doing.

We were seated by the window seat near the entrance so the atmosphere was really nice. Our waiter was paitent and helped us take several photos.

We got the grilled octopus appitizerwhich was really good. The look of it wasnt as nice but taste was great. For the main course we got the duck and arctic char. Both dishes were pretty good but not great. Overall had a pretty good experience.

For the 4 years I’ve been in Calgary, I’ve heard about Blink and how great it is. I finally went recently, and don’t know that I’ve had very many disappointing experiences as this one.
It seems the location, atmosphere and appeal of Blink is what keeps them going, because the food was bland, cold, uninspired and disappointing. I challenge Blink to put their tortellini in front of any professional chef and watch their reaction. It was cold, chewy, and so boring. It was like eating a bowl of mashed butternut squash, with one note only: sweet. The filling was sweet, the sauce was sweet, and there was no seasoning whatsoever.
Add in the fact that there was maybe 6-7 pieces of tortellini, and you’ve got yourself quite a joke of a dish.
The service was good, and the apps were fine, but restaurants that ride on their reputation really turn me off. I had a hard time even choosing a main because it all sounded boring and pretentious.
Sad to say I wouldn’t be back.

Wish there was an extra half star to rate with. Not quite a 4 but it's better than what I consider a 3 star. Empty upon arrival but waiter seemed to be suppressing a very heavy cold, so not a great welcome. Nice seating and atmosphere. Pricey: short ribs same price as Calgary tower restaurant, but a smaller portion and tasted dry. He said it was a new -just that night-menu item and thanks for feedback, the chef could use our comments to improve the dish.but shouldn't the chef already know how 40$ (small portion) short ribs should be cooked? Great taste makes smaller portion acceptable. Tortellini forgettable. I was prepared for cost as my daughter lives far away now, so of course wanted a memorable evening out experience. Blink has a nice and relaxing atmosphere, and good menu items. Maybe it was just an off night for them. Some changes and it could be really amazing establishment. I feel bad, we had a great time together but it was because we were together, not because of the food.

One of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had. Fantastic food, spot on wine pairings and first class service. I cannot recommend Blink highly enough.

Great place. Good food. Waitress fantastic. Will definitely be back. However it was slow to get our food and we were late for an engagement we had.

Don’t know how to rank this last visit. I’ve been to blink upwards of 10 times and the food is always outstanding. Once again today the food was five stars but despite us having a later lunch (1245) and being the only table in the restaurant by the time we received our appetizers, the staff was generally cold, unresponsive and overall uninterested in serving us. We waiting what felt like 10-15 minutes for the waiter to come back to order our dessert while he stood at the bar unengaged. While paying my wife asked if there were going to be busy through the holidays where he then quipped that yes they would be and it would be great as then he could make more money. I’ve got a tip for how you can make more money, provide top notch service on top of top notch food and people will be happy to tip more.

Very tasty food. I had the duck and my wife had the cod. Both were cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. It is expensive and the portion sizes are on the small side, but the food was so good.

Your cheese plates, bread and olives were fabulous. So was the dessert and cappucino. However; the bouillabaise was disappointing. Small dish, I was till hungry afterwards. Not a ton of fish overall, plus the fish was dry, clams were shrivelled up and tiny. Dish is pricey too. Not a ton of flavour here. There wasn't even any broth - how can this be called bouillabaise? Leave out the faro, add more broth so we can soak it up with some nice bread. It's supposed to be fish soup.
This could be a much better dish and for $35 was not worth it. Not sure I would return based on this.

Great food and wine. We ordered the duck and chicken pot pie and the pastry was delightful and the inside flavourful and cooked just right. The toffee dessert was also a nice texture and was delicious.

We got the special little nook spot and it's cozy and bright and has a nice view of the boardwalk.

The best part was Steve, our waiter. He tried his very best, with utmost professionalism, to help my sister and me get a photo of our birthday lunch. From inside, we were backlit too much. From outside, he could only get window selfies.
