Here's how it seems Apple tries to not let you use their warranty. When Apple sells AirPods for example to the source the source might order 1000 cases. Apple starts the warranty on the date that the source purchases those AirPods full well knowing that they won't be sold until customers come into purchase them.so today after the source rejected my claim for insurance Because my AppleCare was still showing valid, I go to the Apple Store because the source says that the Apple Store still has AppleCare for my AirPods. I purchased them six months ago. Now I have to schedule a call with AppleCare and upload a document showing the receipt to the source so that I can get AppleCare on my AirPods. So yes they are honoring the warranty but they're making it so difficult that for example if my grandfather had bought these and would be going through this issue he would not be able to claim his warranty. Calling, waiting, uploading documents, getting dates changed, that's a sad system. I wasted hours getting to an Apple Store Just to be toldthis. Shame on you Apple you are better than this!

I got IPhone 15 pro max and I’m so regretful to have it! I can’t use my headset or other devices or charger on this phone because they change the phone socket purposely! So they force us to buy charger to buy headset else! This is shameful the way IPhone try to make money from customers!

Today I was in with my elderly father to buy a new iPhone SE. My father is deaf and has had a stroke. Whenever we go out he gets little to no patience from customer service reps. But today we had the best customer service experience we have ever here.

Thank you Tim for taking the time with my dad and explaining everything about his new phone. He commented on the way home about how great you were! And he also appreciated your comment on his snowbirds cap. He may not have looked like he was listening but he was. Thank you!

We will be back for all our iPhone purchases.

A consultant named Olga is rude to clients because her shift ends in a few minutes. She started talking in a raised voice that the phone backup would take several hours, and she didn’t have time for maintenance and waiting. She told us that either we are now buying the phone at full price, or she is taking it to the warehouse and we will no longer be able to buy it, although we had a reservation for this phone from 6-9 pm. Having contacted another consultant, everything was done in 30 minutes. I do not advise anyone to contact this person.

I always have problems in this location when I am trying to replace the phone battery. Today (July 2), I had an appointment to replace the phone battery, I was told that they don’t have it in stock. That wouldn’t be a problem if I just dropped in without a reservation. That didn’t happen and I made the reservation a week ago. Very unorganized and not impressed at all. What else should we do other than a reservation? No respect for others’ times.

I am not sure who to blame? Is the whole logistics system of Apple have a problem?

I don’t trust apple privacy and security once I change my cloud ID on apple computer and my password was still saved when I tried to change my my apple cloud password an option was there reminding me that I changed my password in oct 2019 in apple computer and they can log in to my iCloud which I removed hopefully they can’t log in in my iCloud though I changed my iCloud email but I forget as I changed ny Hotmail account also there that password is still on there computer or not
And can you trace it in your system that if so than help me in my privacy

As it’s shouldn’t remain save in that computer forever even I changed my password so many times after that but from that apple computer they can log in to my iCloud anytime

Do not take your Apple product here for repair. My brand new iPhone 13 screen stopped functioning 4 days after first use, no fault of my own, it was just defective. They damaged my third-party screen protector in fixing it, and then refused to replace the screen protector. Today I was told by the store manager himself that “Of course the screen protector is broken when we replace the screen” and that “The Company doesn’t have anything to do with third party products”. At that point he just repeated “I have nothing to offer you” and then just stared at me until I left the store. It was the single most disturbing retail experience of my life. Was also told by a sales person there that if I had bought the screen protector from them, they would have replaced it no charge.
Apple repairs are also done at any number of other retailers/locations in Calgary, so I would suggest trying them first. Avoid being bullied out of a store by some corporate robot person who refuses to take accountability for their own actions, over what is a $3 piece of plastic, on a $1200 phone.

Bottom line, worst customer service I have ever experienced. Brand new iPhone 13 stopped working after 5 days and to be fixed the screen had to be replaced. Apple replaced the screen in store, resulting in the screen protector bring ruined in the process. I asked that they provide me with a new screen protector since they had ruined mine, and was curtly told that they would not. Employees were rude and not at all understanding in this situation.
I would give them 0 stars if I could.

Had some pretty significant issues with several devices. Didn't get all the answers I wanted, but overall helped out alot and got me wayvahead of where I was. Definitely worth the visit.but book ahead or you will be waiting forever to get in

Really nice guy at the Genius area, but, I think it would be nice prior to me taking the time to haul my desktop down there to know that they will not fix a computer older than 6 years. Perhaps there is something in the fine print on line somewhere, but I didnt see it.

Very disappointed with my service at Genius Bar and they are not accurate in time I took my phone for repair they told me it’s will take one hours for repair and it’s end up with 4 hr waiting the when I get home I found out they didn’t repair what i took my phone for

Thank you to the lady that helped me today. She greeted me so polite and I felt so welcomed right away. She was super nice and Patient while cleaning my dirty phone She wasn’t rushing or anything. I wish I remembered her name but she had your guys red top on with a black sweater, both ears pierced. Plus there was 3 other staff that helped me has well and was super nice and acknowledged me right away. I will definitely be going back when I need too.

Veena is the real MVP! Came in with 3 company Macbook and they all had firmware locks from the users. They had upgraded or left and we couldent get in so we took them here. They have strict procedures for a reason, even though it was a huge struggle alll the way through to get them unlocked Veena was there for me, worked around all of the bumbs and holes. After I had left them there they could only get 2 of the 3 unlocked due to another issue but she had called me and worked around more bumps! Eventually I had taken it as a loss and was going to recover the 2 and use the third for parts but I get there and there all unlocked! Shout out to VEENA you deserve a raise!

Horribly disappointing experience in seeking a solution to my Apple Watch repair. I have a Series 1 which has for the 3rd or 4th time had it’s back stick to the charger and come apart from the rest of the watch. It still works but obviously the seal is broken and will not last like this with dust and debris easily getting into the mechanism. Today I had an appointment at the Genius Bar with Barry, and then his manager, Heidi. What a waste of time. The “solution” they offered me was to spend $329 on a new Series 1 watch. Apparently, repairs are not a thing with Apple Watches…. Only replacement. It appears they would rather have their defective products end up in a land fill as toxic waste rather than trying to repair it with a new silicone seal!
I asked how much a brand new S1 watch costs (at least it would come with a warranty) but they are not “sold” any longer. Instead I could by an S3 for $240! What the heck? ! I explained that having been a loyal Apple customer (I’ve owned various apple products including computers, laptops, iPads, phones etc) for almost 30 years and this is how you treat me. I guess they just don’t care about long term customer satisfaction. I am furious and will take my business elsewhere. All I wanted was for someone to fix the darn thing. I spent $800 (watch and band) on it and I sure as heck expected it to last longer than a few years. My cheapie watch from a street vendor has outperformed this Apple product!

Ordered a 2021 MacBook Pro on launch day. Got a confirmation to pick it up. Shortly after got a call from the store that the box was damaged. They didn’t offer to give me the next one that would come in. Instead they cancelled my order and that was it. I expect better.

There was a long line but since I knew exactly what I wanted, they could make an exception. Also because I left the next day. I was helped by Sean, a super nice guy! Thanks so much!

You are required to wear a facemask but this is policy in the entire Chinook Mall.

The store itself is like any other Apple Store, they do airline crew discount if your airline is part of the Delta SkyTeam. Helpful people and they are fast here!

Went to buy a new MacBook from the Chinook store yesterday - ready and willing to drop $1600+. Told it would be a 60 minute wait before anyone could help me. Walked across McLeod Trail to Staples and purchased the exact same MacBook for the very same price. It took me 10 minutes. I was back home setting up my new laptop when the 60 minute wait time would have expired. Very poor customer service (would have garded a ") " but that isn't an option

Product I’m happy about. The customer was service from the apple team was unprofessional. Purchase a few items $1000+ in value and ask for bag to hold the items. The person said they had ran out of bags and for me to go to shoppers drug market to ask for a bag to put my stuff in… as a long term apple consumer this may have been the worse advice and experience ever! Like a bag is only $1. She didn’t even try to go look for one.

Worst service ever Brough my daughter's iPad in cause it won't restore or update. Thought since they call themselves a genius bar they would know something but instead he did the same thing I did Wich was try to update (fail) try to restore (fail) and then said it was a firmware probably and can't do anything to buy another one. The iPad is a year and a half old and no damage. Apple is garbage now

Each item we wanted was in stock and available for us. Walked in and walked out in a matter of minutes with our MacBook Pro and accessories. Superior customer service and excellent products. I have been a Mac person for the last dozen years and still cannot believe it took me so long to make the switch to Mac. They are phenomenal products!

This team could do a masterclass on retail customer service, everyone on the team is attentive and helpful, and they’ve clearly thought through every step in the process to make it as painless as possible. Their "geniuses" are not helpful and completely critical over the issues you have. I ended up getting into a heated public argument with the store manager because they ended up making my MacBook worse than when I brought it in and they refused to take ownership and wanted me to pay full price for the repair. Fast forward 8 months, Apple finally issues a statement saying their keyboards are defective, which is what I was trying to communicate to the store in the first place. I eventually got my rightful refund for the repair, but even at that time, they reluctantly refunded me, and were completely shocked that I was requesting my money back despite an Apple customer service rep from HQ telling them to do so. Their attitude is not acceptable. Go somewhere else for your Apple concerns.

When you walk in you're not sure if you should walk right through or stop and wait to be greeted. A younger female associate came and told me to come in and asked if she could help me. I told her 5 times, 5 different ways what I wanted including a visual and she still didn't know what I wanted and gave me something I didnt need.
I talked to another associate and he told me exactly what I needed and told me to go to Best Buy to get it cheaper. ‍️‍️
He was awesome.she not so much.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I came in a few weeks ago with a faulty MacBook charger that I purchased half a year ago. I was very disappointed that the charger stopped working after only half a year in use, despite costing $100.00 and all that comes with purchasing an apple product. I was told I would have to buy a new charger and that there was nothing that can be done. So you're telling me your products last for a half a year before they break? I spoke to the stores Manager "Nick" and was told there was nothing that can be done in terms of a product warranty or free replacement. This was the day I bought a new laptop and phone from another company and stopped being scammed by Apple, blessing in disguise I suppose.

Was a tad chaotic when COVID restrictions on capacity was still in place province-wide but has gotten better since then. Staff are relatively knowledgeable and helpful, and store has most, if not all of Apple's catalogue of products in stock. They do not however stock Used or Refurbished Products, which can only be found via the Online Apple Store

People at this Genius Bar are just lazy. Brought 13 month old Apple Watch in that got bricked after a software update. Tech said it would be $240 to repair/replace because it was “out of warrant”. I knew that had to be a mistake. I came home and called Apple care and they offered to fix the device, but without needing to repair it they were able to remotely access my phone and fix the software glitch.

Was treated like a criminal with total disrespect.
Went to the Apple store in chinook to get a replacement phone through Apple care. I brought in my I phone 12 pro max that was accidently ran over by a truck plus my Apple care Plus contract for replacement of a damaged phone Plus my original bill of sale from 2 weeks ago. And all the original PKG with serial numbers and IEM numbers.

Was told my Phone was too damaged and they would not replace the phone i disagreed with them. They told me I should leave because I had a bad attitude. The store must been at 95 DB and we had to stand 8 feet apart and the supervisor Dave mumbled into his mask. When i explained to him that i had to speak in a load voice to be heard and he should do the same he did not when I asked him to give me an email ore a written letter of why they were refusing they would not.

I was at the Genius Bar because I was having issues with my iPad. I saw Mike today he was very helpful and knowledgeable about the Apple, products. I told him I was new to Apple and took the time to show me some useful applications for Apple and showed me where I can find online support, he was amazing!

Apple has no customer service. I would go by everything from Telus or Bell. I stay away from Apple products because of that reason no customer service they rather do lessons than help people with their products. I have taken my wife there a couple of times and each time stopped an employee from walking a way because we did not have an appointment and they needed to do lessons. I would suggest you make a room for lessons in another spot and focuse on help customers the old fashion way.

I love apple products but at this store customer service is worst. I just wanted to buy laptop and went at the store hour before closing and they declined to sale it. Also, I informed that don’t need any support or help. It will be quick in and out. Very disappointing experience with apple. I went straight to Bestbuy and bought MacBook Pro. I will encourage everyone not to go at this location as they do not want to sale their product.

Sorry I think apple genius bar is a joke. Apple phones copy all others features since the last 5+ generations. Do yourself a favor and buy phones that have actual new top of the line features. Very organized and efficient system in place for picking up or returning products. The plastic shields tended to amplify the noise though and made communicating a little difficult - they could do with those sealed grills to let you speak through or else provide phones.like you're visiting some criminal relative in prison.

I love all of apple products and the actual apple staff, always exception service. However your “wanna-be” security guards are a pathetic laughable joke. The 2 security guards out front of the Chinook location are about the rudest people i have met. They simply give you a run around when you ask questions and act like they own the place, yet they have very little authority. I waved At an apple employee, they nicely came out of the store answered all my questions properly, since the security guards are beyond useless.

Dangerous and terrible. I just got a brand new iphone 12 pro and after a few days of using it I experienced searing shocking pain down both legs. It turns out the iphone activated a medical device I have implanted. I called Apple who told me it was the device manufacturers fault and that they wouldn't give me a refund.
The website says iphone 12 won't cause more interference than previous models but this is not true.

Terrible customer service. Staff outside the store keep saying book an appointment to get in the store, when they had no lineup at all. Called the Apple Chinook mall number, and that woman said use the website to book an appointment, which only said "Not Available. " Person named Bakusa outside the store was very rude to my family and said they cannot help my product defect issue in any way even though a specialist I talked to said they can help. Completely dissatisfied with the Apple service at Chinook mall. I would give 0 stars if that was an option.

Yes the photo is of the apple store. They have a lineup area outside the store where your temperature is checked very respectfully and they will even bring goods out to you.

Very very clean inside and covid sade.

Apple perfected the Covid protocols without being over bearing. A+ for you Apple!

Have to change my review after calling and calling and calling and calling (you get the point) and basically being hung up on over and over again. Why even have an option to phone when you aren't going to answer?

Don't know why I would ever spend my money at a location that apparently doesn't have the time of day to answer a phone.

I've had a terrible experience at this store. One of my airpods broke after a week and getting it replaced has been a nightmare. Having to show up at the store to book and appointment only to find out they are out of stock. It's been weeks without my airpods and multiple trips and I still don't have the repaired one. So incredible inefficient, why can't they just send me the replacement product? Sigh.

I have always used apple iPhones from the time they started and have always enjoyed the products. I have been to the Apple store a few times over the years and have always had consistently good service. This location is in the chinook Centre and is convenient to get to. The store is well lit and clean. And the staff is friendly and helpful. As long as I continue to use Apple products I will continue to come here once in a while when I need help.

Have always been intimidated by Apple products. Walked in the store, and I was helped within minutes. Jen was the woman I spoke with and she was AWESOME! Didn't try to upsale me, but get what fit my needs. I have been converted!

They have miserable over-the-phone phone service. Every time you call, you will be forwarded to a voicemail.

On top of that, once you're at the voicemail, you'll be asked to leave a message with your number so that the Apple personnel can call you back. But they never do!

The Genius bar specialist named Jeremy did a very good job assisting me with the problem i was having with my iphone. He took the time listened and examined the problems carefully. My previous experience with Apple Specialists were terrible but Jeremy understood my frustration and truly made my Apple experience great! Thank you.

My experience with the online Apple Store was a nightmare. For 3 days, I tried to order a Macbook Pro custom loaded with the student apps bundle.

They cancelled and then continued to fumble my order until on the 3rd day, the 5th rep I spoke to dropped my call and lost all progress. All I wanted to do was give them 4k for a computer. You'd think it wouldn't be so difficult.

Thankfully, I decided to go to the Chinook store and speak to some humans. I told one of the reps about my experience and she immediately brought a manager.

Tim helped tremendously. He was able to send me home with a Macbook Pro loaded with the student apps bundle THAT DAY, avoiding the hassle of trying to order one online. He was very knowledgeable, understanding and friendly and he even went out of his way to send me resources on my journey to learn Final Cut Pro.

Thank you for turning my experience around Tim!

I've only had the computer for a couple weeks, but so far it is killer. Killer priced to be sure, but killer product.

It was so disappointing. Came in to buy an iPhone and a new laptop.but the service was so bad that we ended up just getting the phone. I asked a younger lady for assistance, she was so rude and kept saying "I can't hear you so I can't help. " Eventually she assigned another employee to help, who was too busy talking to his buddy who came in to chat during his shift. Then he offered to set up the phone for me, I agreed. Then he ended up saying "just go to Telus and they can help you with everything. ". We bought an unlocked phone, not sure why he sent us to Telus. It looked like he was annoyed that he had to help us while his buddy was there. We asked another employee on our way out if he knew where the Telus store was in the mall, he scanned my mom up and down and said it was around the corner with such an attitude. I will definitely not be shopping here ever again. To them it might be just another customer and another iPhone sold, but for us it was supposed to be a great early birthday gift and a trip to Calgary to splurge.what a disappointment.

Thank you very much to Jose for his help with fixing my iPhone 6s. I very much appreciated that he was able to assist me in both a timely, and efficient manner. Everyone I spoke with was friendly and courteous. Issue was with slow performance of the phone due to an aftermarket battery which was installed by a local iPhix location. The battery had begun to swell and was no longer safe to use. The phone was promptly replaced. What I appreciate the most was that he didn’t try to upswell me to a newer phone, he simply resolved this issue with the phone instead of attempting to milk more money from me like I have had in the past from other Apple locations.

When I call the store number, half the time it routes me to Texas, and it's very hard to get back to the Chinook store to talk to someone there.the Apple techs are very knowledgeable and patient, once you do get past the Emerald gates

I had issues with my iPhone & iTunes during the week my Mother unexpectedly died & was buried. I didn’t wish to spend my recent grieving time addressing any issues with any Company, but I had no alternative (s). Mary is always delightful & Naj was extremely knowledgable & helpful, however Jamie was unfriendly indifferent when I requested a call from the Store Manager. I have been a longtime consumer of the Apple @ Chinook Mall & am truly disappointed to be treated insensitively by someone I do not know, nor care to after this incident. Insult to Injury. A familial death is Upsetting enough & to be treated like I don’t matter is dismaying, although I’m a ‘human being’ with equal rights. Hopefully the Store Manager calls!

Found them at the Source for $130

I called Apple at Chinook regarding the price match - a lady picked up the phone and said usually they can price match up to 10% but in this case since its a $5 difference that they should be able to give the full refund ($20).

I go all the way to the store and they first of all tell me that they can only price match up to 10% - I tell them what the lady said on the phone and they ask for the name of the lady which I didn't get - so they say they can only price match up to $15. Then they tell me they can't price match for me at all because the item at the Source is online only. I said you make me come all the way here and tell me you can't cause the item is online? You guys should have told me on the phone that it is for in store item only then - and their response is what threw me off - instead of being apologetic and trying to provide good customer service they were super rude about it (it was an old lady and old man - I think the lady might be the manager - don't know how she's a manager with that kind of customer service - she definitely lacks basic service skills to keep "customers")

Then I find out after I leave the store that the Source ALSO has the item in store which means I could have gotten my price match.

With that kind of customer service I don't know how they have customers. I used to buy apple products all the time but I'm not spending a dime at this place anymore - I'm obviously going to return the earphones

I bought an i phone 2 months ago for close to 2000 and been having issues with location with it for a month and went there twice and still did NOT solve my problem and refuse to replace it for me NEVER will i buy a i phone again.i never write bad reviews but i want people to know how bad the service is here.

Went to the Chinook Apple Store to have my macbook pro looked at. The speakers on it are not sounding so good, and I wanted a true diagnosis to see what my repair options are.
I don't remember who helped me, but he didn't look at my laptop. Did not even glance at it.simply said the speakers have to be replaced.
I asked him, "How do you know? " He told me based on my description he just knows.

I was super nice about it and just thanked him and left, but I left feeling incredibly underwhelmed, and brushed off. It seems as though he did not want to take his time to actually look at the computer. He just told me to replace the speaker and sent me off without a second thought.

Really not ok. I wanted more help, I wanted TRUE help from the experts. I even left work early for my genius appointment.

Just really overall disappointed in my service. And when you buy a 1200 laptop, you expect decent help, right?

Wrong.

The reason Im so shocked is because I've taken other products for assistance in the past (3-5 years ago) and the workers helped IMMENSELY and were so nice. I really wish I had gotten this man's help.
