Very nice aquarium store. Amazing selection at competitive prices. They have lots of aquarium plants as well.

They have unique aquascaping products and a planning area where you select your aquarium size on a bed of sand and create a layout you like. Snap a photo and recreate it at home with the purchased materials.

Very clean tanks and building.

Definetly worth checking out if you're a aquarium enthusiast.

All fish were expensive and they made us wear masks.

These people really know their fish! They have beautiful fish too. After starting our tank, we even called with a question and sent pictures on Messenger amd they answered in a very timely manner.

Will NEVER go back to this business! The store clerk instantly stopped me as I walked in and said "we wear masks here". Masks have not been legally mandatory for a long time now. Once I replied, "that's your choice", he scoffed and told me I had to leave, that I wasn't welcome. Not only is that illegal to do now but it was incredibly rude! I will never support someone who speaks to people like they are above them.

I came back to change it to a 4 star, the otos didn't die.

McDavid plays with 99% passion, I wish he would play with 100%. He appears to want to do be doing something else.

On that note, I feel you only give 99% customer service as others have said. Your store would do so much better with you giving 100% effort to people.

Veronica was extremely knowledgeable and helpful about setting up my first planted tank. She took time to explain everything very well for a newbie like me. Definitely recommend as prices are very low compared to some of the other stores I've been to.

They know their stuff and the pricing is very competitive. Because of their idiotic mask mandates I will not be returning

If you want to buy a betta, come here! They actually keep their betta in filtered, heated tanks! The respect I have for this store is huge. They are EXTREMELY helpful & knowledgeable. They have a massive selection and are such nice people. I am so happy with my fish.

My favourite local fish store in the city, always new and interesting high quality livestock and plants, friendly and helpful staff, great selection on dry goods, decor, and tanks.

This is my favorite store in the city. Everyone is very friendly and knowledgeable. They have a great variety of fish and plants at reasonable prices and the plants and fish look way healthier than some of their competitors. I've had no issues with snails in their plants and I've bought so many here. Plus, I really appreciate that they request customers wear masks as well, I feel safe shopping here. Thank you so much!

Great selection of well kept, healthy fish with very knowledgeable staff. The manager is helpful and friendly. Prices for fish are moderate/fair but accessories are pricey. It's not the prettiest store but it has a good selection if you like bettas, cichlids, plecos, and small community freshwater fish.

Overall I do reccommend this place, just be sure to fact check before making purchases based on advice given by a salesperson trying to sell you something.

I didn't even get to shop here due to the discriminatory and obviously "covid frightened" staff. If they're not afraid, then why on earth would they turn away potential customers? Fear is not a good excuse in this day and age. Grow some courage! BTW, did you have this policy before 2020? Tell the truth! Poor frightened baby. It must be hell to live with such fear.

As a newbie aquarium owner, they have been so helpful explaining what I needed to do to take care of the tank, suggesting fish, and are safe as hell. Love going here.

These guys have arguably one of the healthiest plant selections in the city. They also have wonderfullly bold little rasboras. No cowering in the corner from these nano fish — less then 24h into their new home and they are exploring every nook and cranny.

I'm unimpressed with the amount of dead fish that were in their tanks. They're set up was ok and gravel was cheap but I didn't see many tank options on display. Kind of unfortunate.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Thank you for being patient with me when I asked a billion questions! Made me feel welcome (unlike some places with condescending staff). Prices are very reasonable as well.

Got my son a fish ended up with 2 fish, 3 snails and 2 shrimp with live plants. Jeremiah is wonderful he was incredibly helpful with a ton of experience and knowledge and never once made us feel stupid or silly, but encouraged our learning curve and helped us keep everyone alive and healthy in the tank.

I love this place! I wanted to start a betta sorority and they knew what they were talking about plus I’ve bought live plants from here before very good quality and no snails!

Everyone there are super nice and friendly except for the owner which is kinda weird.but at least they're all very knowledgable with fishes and plants there

We needed goldfish for our pond. After 5 places, looking for feeder fish, we gave up and went here. They have a huge selection of fish but priced like all other stores. It ended up being $42.00 for just 6 goldfish. I miss being ships with live fish. The service was prompt, efficient and knowledgeable. They spoke to us upon entering and thanked us for the business. Definitely recommend.

This store is the only place I will go to for my aquarium needs! I have gotten plants and shrimp here so far, and all of them have been very healthy. The owner is really helpful and gave us advice for the best plants/shrimp for our tank and how to care for them, and the prices are really great!

This new location is better then the last one. Tank maintenance is good no bubble algea all water is clean fish are very active with no bizarre growths as in fungal or microbial. Variety of species and and like very incredible betas I've yet to see a local breeder or pet store with show grade out of this world beautiful vibrant bettas. I didn't even know they had the colors spectrum they did so yea my visit was really good he has unique options that petco and pet smart don't have plus the staff actually know what thier talking about

This is the place if you need info on fish and accessories from a real aquarium store owner, not from kids that work in most fish stores.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff with a wide variety of healthy fish to choose from at fair prices.

Good experience. My children were beginning their first experience of caring for animals and Chris was very helpful. He answered questions and got them (and me) started on the right track. Two weeks in and the fish (and snail) are all still alive (yeah!) and bring a little marine joy to their three young caregivers.

Amazing store, always helpful and very knowledgeable. Has beautiful and Healthy fish, and every time I go in always a positive experience. As a customer I appreciate the fact he takes good and appropriate precaution during covid to protect everyone. Aquarium Central has the best selection of fish even during the covid-19 crisis. There, I found a lot of hard to find fish at a reasonable price.
As a new hobbyist, I had a lot of questions and needed a lot of help. Chris and Harleigh, with their knowledge and experience helped me out a lot.
If you haven't been there before, you should really check it out. I give Aquarium Central a 5 out of 5 and I'll keep going back because of the awesome people there.

If you are a fish person, here is your place. The owner make sure that the fish got spoiled and live happily ever after. If you just want to start to have a fish, don't go here. The owner don't have time to explain to you how or what or any basic questions, you got to study yourself first.
And.the fish is expensive.

Exspensive (fish wise). One of the very fiew places in Edmonton that carry some items needed for your tank. Id say come here for items and if youre looking for a specific fish you cant really find elsewhere.

Was recommended to visit your store, when I arrive there is a sign saying " wear a mask to enter store " i will not shop at this location for that reason.

I was talked into buying an expensive "high end" light. And when it broke and I wrote an honest review the owner belittled me and kept going on and on about how his lights have to have a specific logo on them in order to be able to be sold in canada. So I ordered one from ali express to test his theory and he was completely lying. I got the chihiros led light for half the price he was offering, it has the CE logo that the owner kept going on and on about saying it wouldnt be legal to sell it if it didnt have this and this is why its so expensive (which I figured out was complete bull****). When I brought it back for a refund less than a week later thw owner wouldnt stop calling me rude, and all sorts of blatantly rude jargon. WHILE IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS. I was embarrassed for the owner because everyone was looking at us, and me being in my 20s was more mature then the owner just asking over and over for a refund while repeating "I'm not here to get lectured I just want my money back". This is hands down the worst place to get fish supplies in edmonton. The store is incredibly messy all 6 times I have been there over 2 years. They WILL rip you off with products off of ali express. I used to like your store because you have an awesome selection of fish and plants and your fish seem to be very healthy, but the owner and how he treats people who support him is why I will NEVER return. Go to Big Als or Aquarium Illusions, they will treat you with respect and at least you know the brands of products you are buying. I bet the owners response is going to be great. Can't wait.

The owner treats all the fish with the respect they deserve, very knowledgeable. Great products and variety.

The young ladies however have absolutely no idea what they are talking about 99% of the time, and also dont know how to work the till/ring up products. I even went back to fix it and she made it so much worse. It was almost hilarious.
Worked out for me but I like the owner and it makes me feel bad that he is loosing money.

Picked up a few African Cichlids a couple weeks ago. Great selection, excellent quality, and very reasonable pricing. I was really impressed with the quality and health of the fish. I will certainly return for that reason.
One of the cichlids in a tank had been beat up pretty good - the staff immediately recognized this and quickly moved the fish to a more peaceful tank.

Very friendly and approachable staff, knowledgeable about the species they sell, and honest when they’re unsure. Not making baseline assumptions and making recommendations off that is really important, and an often overlooked detail that they’re under appreciated for. All the fish I’ve bought have been happy and healthy ever since, and I’ve found their prices to be very reasonable for the quality and health of the fish compared to bigger stores such as pet smart. They also have great bulk options for substrate and aquarium/reptile-safe wood that you don’t see everywhere.:)

Great place. Great staff and great selection of both salt and freshwater fish. The store is mainly freshwater. Love the variety of cichlids they got.

Amazing store. Incredibly helpful staff. Great Prices. They don't have walls and walls of useless products that leave you confused about what to buy. They have Seachum product line. Wide variety of aquatic plants that are growing in water already which has resulted in 0 loss for me. Their fish are incredibly active and healthy, you can tell they are well cared for. Staff and owner are so very helpful and willing to answer any question I had. Even left with printed directions on how to use the products to cycle a tank properly, and an email address in case I had any other questions or concerns. I 100% recommend this locally owned company, it will be my go to place from now on.

Did not have great experience here and was turned off by the overcrowding of one of the marine tanks. The owner responded that the overcrowded tank did not contain fish that were for sale, it was just a holding tank for customer they have that was moving. Decided to go back. Super happy I did, this time the staff were great, the owner especially so and his knowledge level of marine fish is not equalled in Edmonton. Bought a dragon goby that acclimated super fast and is very healthy. I will definitely go back to Aquarium Central next time I need a new fish. Great store, healthy stock and a knowledgeable owner.cant ask for more than that
