This is a very long post but the whole series of events describes a case of horrible customer service. Also not sure I trust their work as our tree seems to have suffered post pruning (beyond the expected post prune recovery) I am utterly disgusted with this company, will never use them again and would never recommend them.
I filled out an online email request for service in spring 2022, never received any reply so I assumed they weren't interested in making a service call so I had planned on contacting a different arborist.but.they showed up unannounced about a month later to view the tree (I should've seen this as a red flag.) so I figured I would have them look anyhow. We asked for a structural pruning, the rep assessed the tree as healthy and they could prune it early fall. Getting a date set was frustrating, I had to call twice to finally get them to commit to a range of one week (narrowing to a day or time was impossible). They finally showed up in early November 2022 and pruned the tree, $385 for 2 guys here no more than 1hr. This spring 2023, only half the tree leafed out and when I looked closer there were some crossing branches that were not pruned. I called the rep with my concerns, sent photos, he said he could come out within a specific week (again no date commitment). No show. No call. I phoned back, he again said he would be here in the next seven days and then the week he was to be here I received an email stating the following
"I’ve been sick and super busy. It’s hard being the only salesperson for Edmonton. The only thing you can do for your maple is prune out the dead portion and ensure that your tree is healthy. Watering regularily and fertilizing. If I get a spare moment I can come take a look at your tree. I’m sorry. ".
. Seriously? !
Anything more that I say is just ranting.photos are Nov 2022 before pruning, after pruning, and spring leaf out (late May 2023)

Pretty frustrating working with this company. I was quoted a price that I accepted, waited 3 weeks for them to set a date to remove the tree. Did all the prep work which included moving sheds across the yard so it would be easier for them to complete the job. On the day of the job they decided it was more work and left. Had to wait for them to re-quote the job (at a much higher price) and then wait a couple days before they actually completed it. Would have gone with a different company from the start if I knew this was going to happen. At that point other companies were booked for a couple weeks and I couldn't wait that long to put the yard back together.

The upside is the arborist who took down the tree did a good job.
