This place is my new happy place. Come here 2 to 3 times a week usually since August, and have NEVER had a bad expirience. Lots of amazing machines, and the staff had been nothing short of amazing each time. Can not beat the price either. Highly recomend to every single person
Lots of the games had worn out joysticks and buttons. While there, they were hosting a party and closed off the upper level, preventing access to half the games. This would have been fine, had they not still charged full admission prices to the regular customers for a lesser experience. If they fixed their machines and changed the way they handle parties it would be a cool spot.
Been here a few times. It's always a blast! So many cool retro games. Seems to always be something new every time I go. Friendly staff, cold beer, big screen for the game. Truly a hidden gem in the park
We went on a Saturday. Family of 4.4: 30pm or so. Upstairs was closed till 6: 30pm. I think private function. All the games for the most part were working on this day. Guitar hero was out too bad. And dragons lair seemed to not work for me.
Beer prices are pretty much $9/supercan of analog brewery. Never ordered food but seems like nitzas pizza delivers here i think is cool. Just remember how long it may take when u want to eat. We stayed for 4 hours actually. When upstairs was open we sat for a little just relaxed. It is loud in here just so you know. But thats arcade. Some Guys get very excited and pretty much are screaming excitement. Good bad i mean when your taken back to your teenage days i guess. All games are free There is Pinball tournaments here as well. Make a team and enter. Will we be back. Uhm. Yeah probably excited to go back. Not so much. But i would go back for some games again. Hand sanitiser was available but man it seemed like alo vera grease i suggest better stuff. And have everyone maybe squirt some on first in.
First off, this is 100% and hands down the best arcade in the Edmonton and surrounding area locale! It's clean, new, well setup, and the staff are all very friendly once you get chatting to them! Secondly, if you're a fan of pinball, this place really has it all. New and vintage machines, all usually in excellent working order (and anything broken is usually posted and fixed pretty promptly!). All of this is especially true, when you consider the value.because you pay $20 for entrance, and you get access to all the arcade set to free play. You simply cannot find a value like that anywhere else, as I'm a person that can easily spend 40 bucks playing pinball for a couple hours elsewhere. I don't say all this because I bought an $40 ARKpass monthly membership either, but I say it because it's an awesome business, with an awesome concept that deserves everyone to check it out and give it all the business it deserves so they can keep expanding and switching out the lineup of games from time to time!
EDIT 04/16/2023 - Still awesome! Things haven't changed! Just always more new Stern Pinball machines!
Great friendly staff! SO MANY cool machines.old and new! Most pinball in Alberta, mixed with great selection of video games. Ms Pac-Man, JOUST, Frogger! A must visit! Can book private parties as well. Where's my quarters!? !
Had a blast playing all the retro games of my childhood. They have 2 floors packed with games and a couple concessions if you're hungry or need a drink
Was finally able to check it out while travelling to the area to see family and LOVED it! Brings me back to my teenage years in the 80's, definitely has the feel of the arcades from back then: the lighting, the noise, the line ups of pinball with the video game clusters in the middle. I was there strictly for the pinball and it was great to finally play the games that I never can find "in the wild". My only disappointment was the amount of pinballs either out of order or just poorly maintained. I myself notified staff of two games that weren't working and they put out of order signs on them. Several games had the tilt set so tightly (one of these had wobbly legs too) that you had to be careful not to even bump them while changing players. One of the games from the 80's even had improper legs that put it about 3" higher than the rest.making it so unnatural to play. As a pinball collector and restorer over the years I just wanted to grab my tools and fix up those beatiful older machines that simply needed some TLC. Having said that I still LOVED it and will be back the next time in the area (and every time after that)! PS. Turn the volume down on guitar hero.couldn't hear a single thing on the GNR or TMNT pinballs across the aisle
The best retro arcade gaming there is in Alberta by far. This is not your typical barcade like the one on Whyte Ave. This is a true 80's arcade through and through, and the experience is very much like you had in the 80's.
The owner is very down to earth and extremely nice, and it shows in how this place was built. It's a love letter to the best era in arcade gaming, and worth the asking price for entry.
A large selection of pinball games and a modest selection of other arcade classics that you can play as long as you like without needing tokens! A fun way to spend a couple of hours.
We enjoyed our visit here as far as the games were concerned. Fun to play a few of the old games. Our kids enjoyed it. We stayed for close to 3 hours. Good value for price charged. Enjoyed the free play and not having to use coins etc… my 3 stars rating however, is due to the physical building. It was over 30 degrees outside when we went so that didn’t help. But the arcade was extremely warm. There was sweat dripping down my back. I had to laugh as my favourite game to play became the one called Whirlwind. It had a fan in it that turned on while your ball was in play. It was so great having that fan blowing on me. I also loved it when people would walk by and create a breeze. It made me wonder why they didn’t have fans blowing at least. Maybe look into improved ventilation that pulls the hot air out? I also found the loud music unnecessary. The machines create so much noise to start with, it was hard on the brain to have loud music playing too. Add to it all the blinking lights and smells of food cooking. I found it a bit much on the senses. Kiddos with sensory issues might need ear plugs to be able to manage in there. I also couldn’t get many of the games to start and couldn’t figure out how to. Not sure if I was doing it wrong or it was broken. Otherwise it was good. We would go back but not for awhile. We played all the games we were interested in playing. I appreciated the hand sanitizer they had out for us to use. Bathrooms on both levels and free cups of water were also bonuses.
I absolutely loved this place! Went here for part of a bachelor party. The drinks were reasonably priced, bartender was good, and I loved being able to go to any game I wanted and just play. So many great retro games. Spent lots of time on mortal Kombat II
My husband LOVES being able to play defender on an actual old school cabinet. This place is so fun. You can bring your kids, let them play, and have a few drinks. What a great idea the owner had. Great service and the bar tender was very chill.
Took my teenager with me to check it out, and it's just a blast. So many old arcade games from my childhood. Huge assortment of pinball machines. Would highly recommend checking out Arkadium.
Great place to go for a drink and to play some retro video games, only thing I could ask for is a bit more variety in the games, not many shooter style games.
Great place to play games, games are well maintained. Only a one time fee for admission then all the games are free to play inside. Had lots of fun with my family.
Was super fun. Bursting with 80s 90s classics. Great place to spend a couple hours reliving my teen years. Great place to have a group booking. Check it out.
Just discovered this gem last week. I've been twice already and will continue coming back as long as this place is here. Great selection of games! The owner is very friendly and appreciates the hobby. Its rare to see an arcade with this much love put into it. I absolutely love this place. I wish I could give them 10 stars. Thank you for what you are providing to our community!
Amazing! So nostalgic! If you grew up anywhere in the 70's-90's this place will being you right back to your childhood! All the games were very well maintained in great shape. Can't wait to go back again!
If you live in the Sherwood Park area I would recommend checking out the Arkadium! It’s very cheap and has a wide selection of arcade games and pinball machines. For being the only arcade in Sherwood park it always beats the drive to Edmonton to spend a fortune at an Edmonton arcade. Every time I’ve been to the Arkadium the staff have not only been polite but they always go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and to make sure you’re having a great time!
It was pretty fun. 20 bucks for all you can play arcade and pinball games. There are way more pinball than arcade games. I'd like to see more classic arcade games.
This place is so cool! If you are old enough to remember actual arcades this place will take you back there instantly. So many pinball and arcade games to play, cool atmosphere, drinks, and incredible people. If you have the chance to stop in and check this place out please do, you will not be disappointed.
Always fun here and pinball is awesome and staff is friendly. The leagues are awesome to play in and plaques are nice and everyone is super nice in the pinball community. The memberships are cheap and affordable. All tournaments are fun to play in and join. Please come to this arcade the best in Edmonton hands down! Yegpin is in July 21st to 24th. Pinball players all over the world! I would recommend coming to this arcade and playing in the tournaments and meeting everyone!
Love it, Love it, Love it! Who wouldn't, getting to go back in time to the 80's and 90's with video games, pinball and the music must be crazy. Hey, even my 10 year old son thinks it's the bomb and he doesn't know many of the games. Try it once and I'll bet you go back.
This is a hidden gem! Everything is clean, the pricing is great, and it’s easy to spend the day here. There is an amazing selection of pinball machines and retro games. As an amateur, I was worried about the competitions, especially knowing I’d be playing alongside ranked players. However, the competition community is very welcoming, supportive, and helpful. I would highly recommend Ladies Night; it’s a fun and casual competition, and some of the veteran players will give you tips on the machines.
Large selection of classic video games and pinball machines. Even had my favourite bubble bobble! (not my best picture but it works) Big shout out to Derek who made special arrangements for the wife and I's 5th anniversary. Your staff were helpful and polite.
Love this place! It's always clean and well kept in terms of cleanliness. The games and pinballs work great and are obviously well maintained. They rotate some of the pinballs to keep things fresh. Arkadium is a place for everyone.
I really enjoyed my visit here. The general admission price is affordable, and plays are unlimited - a very nice feature when you are just learning a new game. The place is clean and well maintained. There is a washroom and a bar/concessions counter on each floor, and a sitting area on the second floor. Bar and snack prices were very reasonable, too. The vintage machines are serviced by the owner, and we had no issues with any of the machines we tried. The two machines I saw that were out of order (common with older devices) were well labelled and far apart. They have a good setup for their pinball tournaments, too. A couple of things I would like to see is ice in the first floor bar as only the second floor had an ice machine, and a healthier concession option (ex: veggies and dip), but those weren't dealbreakers for me. It would also be nice if the year of the arcade game's release was posted on its front somewhere so players wouldn't have to look it up if they are curious. Overall, it's one of the best vintage arcades I've been to, and I look forward to my next visit!
Had a fabulous time. Was there for a private event, and had an absolute blast! The owners were phenomenal, service was great! And the games were so much fun. Definitely a 2+ hr evening I'd love to do again!
Thanks for having myself and all the cotton tail community! Hope to again.
This place has everything I could ever want out of an arcade!
Two floors full of classic arcade cabinets and pinball.
Drinks, including a local made porter that is AMAZING!
And the best part, the staff. Not only friendly, but I got a chance to talk to, and play some Ninja Turtles with the owner. He is incredibly nice, and a big game buff just like his customers. He's not some guy throwing random cabinets (or god forbid, emulation cabinets) in a room and calling it a day like some establishments. This guy cares, and in today's world especially, that's amazing and appreciated.
