It's ok. A bit pricey for what you see. Many things are quite empty or or closed up. Tours are also priced high for what you see.

Upon arriving at 9: 52am, a man appeared shouting that the place opens at 10am, and that we wait on the road. After this, we entered and the young woman at the ticket office did not offer us much information about the options available to you to see the mine, it seems that there was a visit to the tunnel at 10: 30, but since we didn’t know, they told us that let’s wait 2 more hours until the next one, which we obviously didn't.
Apart from that, the place is interesting to visit (at least from the outside), but it doesn't justify traveling from far away.

Amazing tours! Thank you Kale for your incredible enthusiasm, vast knowledge and infectious smile! You were the absolute highlight of the tours for sure! Bob was also absolutely incredible and full of knowledge about the site (as one should be if they worked there!)
We WILL be coming back just to revisit in the future. 100% recommend for anyone visiting Drumheller!

The Atlas Coal Mine National Historic Site is located near Drumheller in Alberta, Canada. It's a former coal mine that has been preserved as a historic site to showcase the mining heritage of the region. Visitors can explore the mine's various structures, learn about the coal mining industry, and gain insights into the lives of miners who worked there. It's an interesting place to visit to understand the historical significance of coal mining in the area. If you're planning to visit, I recommend checking the site's current hours of operation and any admission fees before you go.

I wish there was a little more access to explore the mines without paying for a separate tour for each thing you want to see. Overall very cool place to visit

It’s interesting, but very expensive for what is here. Value is lacking
(A $25 all inclusive ticket would have better value with entrance + one of the tours) or at least include the train ride with the current general ticket.
I would not recommend this stop unless you are a history buff

Charlie was a wonderful tour guide - thank you so much for such a great tour. Walking the tipple was an amazing experience - please come and support this wonderful mine so it can flourish as a tourist destination.

We chose a particularly hot day to visit so it was partly our fault for the three star review. The train tour was short and sweet with the train motorman having fun stories to share. I would recommend doing the train tour earlier during the day or closer to the evening.

Interesting, yet underwhelming. Prices were a little steep and we noticed the same/better information available at other museums in the area. Overall a neat experience to walk around the area & buildings.

From the moment we were greeted at the counter by Michael, we had an amazing experience. We decided to do the train ride tour (with Sarah) and the mine entrance tour (with Kale). The tours were both worth it. Bill used to be a miner and was very knowledgeable and fun to talk with as well.
Sarah operated the train and made the experience fun!
Kale worked with us on the mine entrance tour and took time to show us everything.
The prices for the admission and tours were incredibly reasonable and high value for the experience and service.
To top it off, we even encountered an endangered bow snake. (Don’t be put off, it was far removed from the trail and we observed from a distance. They’re not poisonous)

Simply amazing! My family and I rode the mine train which was really fun and our motordriver Brandon was really knowledgeable and fun. We heard a lot of cool stories and interesting facts about the coal mine which is always fun. Overall a great experience and would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a fun activity.

Second visit here, I love this place. It has great history and the tours are fantastic.

Check ahead for scheduling to make the best of your trip here. Tours and train rides have times posted on site, not sure about the website, so maybe call ahead.

Great place to see the hardships associated with the previous generations. Wear closed toe footwear if you want to go on the mine tour.
