Hands down the best tattoo shop in Calgary! One of the senior artists, Yeva, did my tattoo, and she did an absolutely lovely job. She was very thorough with instructions and handled everything with great care. Fully recommend and can't wait to go back!

I have now had 6 tattoos done with Neva and she is absolutely amazing! She is so talented, sweet and professional. I felt super comfortable in the space and she was an all around fantastic tattoo artist, will absolutely be going back to see her again!

The receptionists were super friendly and responded to any concerns or questions that I had! My tattoo artist was Kat and she was an absolute delight! She worked with me to make sure my tattoo was absolutely perfect and exactly how I wanted it and it made it such a pleasant experience for my first tattoo! If I ever want another tattoo I’ll definitely come back here and ask for Kat as she is just such a wonderful artist to work with!

I went to Atticus bcoz of the plenty of good reviews online, i looked for an artist and i wanted to do have fine line tattoos for myself and i found the perfect one. YEVA YEVA YEVA. YEVA is BIG REAL DEAL.shes an amazing young artist, very talented, very attentive, caring and great to each detail i want in my design, she has showed me my design but in a better way and made it to reality. Shes also very caring and asks me how i feel during the process. I have two designs of her, and theyre so beautiful! YEVA IS THE BEST EVER! THANKS YEVA FOR MAKING MY DREAM DESIGNS TO REALITY YOURE SO WONDERFUL! ILL COME BACK FOR MORE, IM SO GRATEFUL FOR U!

Great place to get a tattoo and/or piercing. Suzie is a talented tattoo artist, as well as very kind and patient. Highly recommend Larry for piercings, especially when I learned he shops at Dan Flashes and eats sloppy steaks at Trivani's!

This is my 3rd time coming to Atticus. This time by far was the best. Yeva is truly an amazing human and I'm so honored to have her do a living memorial piece. Live each day to the fullest in my Granddads hand writing. She is a kind soul and I will definitely be back for another tattoo from her.

Tattoos have sentiments. Probably this place should teach this to its receptionists. Me and my bf got a matching tattoo but Suzy just failed to do it on my bf. It seemed she wanted to go home and rushed to complete the tattoo. In doing so she missed completing the tattoo.

Now this tattoo hold a bad memory with it.

My friend and I love our new tattoos done by apprentice Ali. We were told both would take under an hour and that her rate is 100/hour, yet was charged over 200. Super happy with the results so well worth it although the front staff could be a bit more clear about pricing!

Yohan was my artist and he was very quick and efficient. Will definitely be booking with him again

The staff at Atticus are so friendly and welcoming. I just became a loyal customer today as Jasmine took the time to make sure I was getting exactly what I wanted and ensuring I was comfortable through my whole appointment. Can’t wait to go back!

We came to Calgary from Victoria and staff at Atticus was able to fit us in for a group tattoo appointment for 5 girls which was amazing. Jana was absolutely amazing, she was so kind and caring and made sure everyone was happy. She is very talented and her fine lines were incredible. It was exactly what I wanted. I would definitely make the trip to Calgary for her to do all of my tattoos!

I came in for a tattoo with Denali and everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Denali's drawing was beautiful and the tattoo came out amazing! It was my first tattoo and she was so helpful with the placement and made sure I was comfortable. Thank you for a wonderful first tattoo experience!

Had my first ever tattoo done to honour my grandson. Kat worked up a very personal tattoo and I had her put it on my shoulder. Excellent work, very pleased, planning on her doing a second one for my grand daughter. Atticus tattoo was very professional and Kat was excellent.

Just passing through, they were able to get me in as a walk in The shop is very clean, organized and professional. Armando did great work. Drew up a design I'd been wanting for a while super quick it's clean and looks amazing and the price was very decent. The whole experience took about 3 hrs. Super efficient and time friendly for a great piece. Would definitely recommend

I had the absolute pleasure of being assigned Armando for my artist today. I got a rams head done on my throat and neck, and I can’t express into words the amount of detail he put into this. From picture to skin it’s an exact look alike. I most likely recommend this man to anyone looking for a realistic tattoo. He brought it to the table and raised the bar tonight. He deserves lots of clients! Gracias Armando, looking forward to our next session. Thank you for making me feel comfortable and jamming some metal the whole time. Can’t wait to brag this up for years!

Super clean shop with friendly staff and ample parking. Went in with my partner who was getting a few tattoos with Skylar. She's incredibly friendly and as we got to talking I had an idea for a tattoo I would like to get. Skylar mentioned they do walk-ins and she had time to draw up the design & put it on my arm. I went upstairs to sign the paperwork and within an hour she was putting it on my arm!

She offered Second Skin, which I haven't tried before, and gave us a little extra in case it falls off. 3 days later the original piece is still holding strong and the tattoo looks & feels great.

10/10 would recommend coming here for your tattoo!

Great atmosphere, friendly staff. I came in for the tiny tattoo promo, and I felt like they gave me the same level of service if I was paying full price.
Sometimes when to go somewhere, ex.whether it's a retail store or restaurant. If you go in for a promo, you might not get the same level of customer service.
Zach was awesome. I will definitely be going back to Atticus to see Zach to help me cover up an old previous tattoo.

Went here to see Omar and he tattooed a rose on my hand! It beautiful and he did an amazing job! I will for sure being going back to get more! Wonderful, clean and very fun and friendly staff.

$500 for a small tattoo, not much detail and the spots where white ink was applied got infected.

Sadly Atticus tattoo used to be my #1 recommendation for tattoos in the city, however they will be the furthest from it going forward. I have been working on a sleeve for the past 2 years with an artist who sadly and unexpectedly passed away a few months ago. I’ve inquired about the legalities of receiving my $350 deposit back and have received nothing but bandaids for a solution. I’ve asked to see the written policy and procedures outlining that they are able to withhold my deposit even when no longer being able to finish the work is out of my control. All they could offer was another artist to finish the sleeve, however, none of the current artists match the style that was going into my sleeve so I kindly passed and asked for a solution to receive my money back instead and was again told there’s no other solution. After asking 4 times to see the written policies and procedures about the deposits, I am STILL being ignored and refused to have the documentation sent over. Very sad that a (once) reputable tattoo shop cannot provide their customers with policies and ignore customers questions and concerns. I have gotten 95% of my tattoos from this shop and have spend endless hours (and money) here and continue to be treated as disposable. Don’t recommend putting any money down for this shop or going to them for work.

Mixed experience. One star for Aimee, who did a great job with my script tattoo, and another for Daniela who did a great job with my three piercings. Unfortunately, I ended up with one tattoo that will cost hundreds to remove. I texted in about walk ins and asked for someone comfortable with fine line, with the artwork and a description of what I wanted. Reception recommended Iryna. Paid my deposit and came in morning of.

Right from the get go, I knew I should have left. We had communication issues, which took about half an hour to resolve. The stencil placement was stressful, as Iryna took a bit to understand that I wanted it centred on my wrist. Then she kept recommending that I get it filled in black. Why would I want when I specifically asked for fine line, which reception claimed she was comfortable with? Keep in mind I reviewed Iryna's portfolio and it looked like she should have been more than capable of handling a simple tattoo like what I was asking for.

The end result is heart shatteringly bad. It honestly looks like a child drew it and stencil led it on. I don't know if she had another appointment after and so rushed this one, or what because it took 30 minutes to place but 20 minutes to do. You can see where some lines were not fine and the arrow looks straight up bad. I scheduled an appointment to have it removed the next day and I wish she'd been honest if this was beyond her capabilities. You can see from the photo, the line work looks really amateurish and what was $150 to do will cost anywhere from $500-$1000 to remove so I can have it done properly. Lesson learned, but I would caution against trusting receptionist recommendations. Compensation would be nice, but I don't expect anything to come out of this. Just want to warn others so they don't end up where I did.

I got a tattoo here the other day. There was a miscommunication between me and the receptionist about timing and the artist that was supposed to give us our tattoos was running late. They managed to fit us in with another artist who was amazing! First of all the receptionists did everything they could to make us get in which was amazing! I believe one of them was Britt and I wasn’t sure the other ones name but she was also amazing. We ended up having Marie as our artist and she is absolutely amazing. Her artwork is incredible, she talked with us and laughed the whole time, and her lines are so straight. Definitely recommend Marie!

Omar was awesome, the ladies at the front were great and free parking in the back, yes please. I will be back for more ink! My gf and I went for a walk in appointment and had a great experience! Thanks y'all!

Got my first tattoo here as a walk in with my friend they were so gentle and walked me through as they went. Put me right at ease I will be back.

Booking my appointment was quick and easy. They request that you call, which was so much easier than emailing back and forth a bunch of times. The shop is bright and clean and welcoming. I’ve definitely been nervous in the past about being intimidated walking in, but I had no anxiety about Atticus since they had photos on their website and I knew what to expect. My artist Katie was fantastic! When I got there she already had a sketch ready to go based on artwork I had sent, and it was amazing. We took a few minutes to tweak some details and colour choices, then choose a size and exact placement. She was very kind and fun to chat with. Even though our appointment went longer than anticipated and she had her next client waiting, she didn’t get impatient and the work looks fantastic. So very happy with it!

Got my first tattoo here and Marie was so nice and comforting! She did a great job and asked me often if I was okay. Definetly coming here again!

Had an amazing experience here. Elisa did my tattoo and it was my first and couldn’t have gone better. Very professional and clean place where you will for sure get the best care. They also do great with booking, responding to emails and phone calls in a super timely manner. Would highly recommend Atticus tattoo to anyone and will be coming back for sure.

I’ve booked tattoos for myself and my husband with a certain artist, that artist left Atticus few days before our booking. I didn’t get any phone call or whatsoever from them. I had to call them myself to ask for deposit to be returned. I was told by their manager Michelle that deposit is non refundable and I should book with another artist. Well guess what, I booked with atticus specifically because of that artist and I don’t want just anyone to do our tattoos. I communicated that to Michelle and she chose not to respond to my email.
Atticus, please be more professional! And when it’s your fault, admit it and return the deposit. Very unpleasant experience and would not come back to you guys!

If you are looking to get your first tattoo done like I did, look no further, the ladies at reception are super polite, the shop itself is clean and very well put together, Dom did such an amazing job as well, made me feel comfortable the whole time and the work he did turned out even better than I imagined, can't wait to go back for more work with Dom and Atticus!

Piercing review: 4/5 the lady was nice, knowledgeable and fast. I love the placement but the balls of my jewelry have fallen off so many times I can't even keep track anymore and I've never had this problem before. I lost a full piece of jewelry before I even had it in a week so next time I would ask if I could bring my own sterile jewelry.

Tattoo review: 5/5 absolutely could not be happier. Kaylie was amazing to work with! She brought my ideas to life and then made them even better! Gentle touch, gorgeous work and very honest about the cost and time frame we would need. The whole time I was very comfortable and she made sure to make any adjustments or accommodations I needed! I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for some beautiful art!

I had a tattoo done at a different place. I was supposed to get a second skin applied and they were closed for the appointment time. I called Atticus for a recommendation on where I can purchase and they offered me to come in. They were extremely professional and applied a second skin at no cost. I will be looking into them for all future services.

I had an amazing time with Simon. He was very professional. Loves his work and the whole experience left me very satisfied.

My daughter had gotten her nose pierced on her 14th Birthday. We had an appointment booked for 7: 00 pm because I was told walk-in were not welcome when I called. We arrived at 6: 55 and signed in. We waited and waited finally I went to the reception desk to ask what was going on and I was told that just before we got there they had 6 walk-ins and were doing them first. I was not happy, we finally got in for her piercing at 7: 45. The lady my daughter was given for the piercing was not a people person, not very comforting at all. My daughter was a bit nervous and tried to ask a few question. This lady just kept saying "I don't know, I don't, come on lets get this done" I was shocked at how this person treated my daughter. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Customer service sucked really bad.

I love this place! I got a tattoo by Kaylie about 4 months ago and a tattoo from Jen this month! They are both super professional and very nice, they make you feel welcome and keep a good conversation going when you are getting tattooed. Kaylie did an amazing flower piece for me which I love so much and it has healed very nicely! I picked up a flash piece from Jen which is also amazing and I can't wait to see it fully healed. I will definitely be back for future tattoos with these 2 ladies! The ladies at the front desk are also very nice and welcoming. The shop is very clean.

The staff was very kind and were able to fit me in for tiny tatt Thursday despite being very busy! Communication was very clear and my tattoo looks amazing! (I've gotten 2 from here and had a great experience both times)

I had a decent experience getting my tattoo however, their customer service and communication are seriously lacking. I got the impression they care more about making money than the quality of their work. I don’t recommend this shop.

So I went to get my septum pierced she put the needle threw my septum partially then pulled it out and said she couldn’t pierce it, she didn’t even clean the blood that was coming out of my nose or give me something to clean it just sent me out. I will never be returning for a piercing this was a terrible traumatizing experience.

Sergio was my artist and he was awesome, absolutely love the job he did.and he's a good dude. The place is clean, organized and professional - And the staff are very friendly and personable. You can't go wrong with this place, 5 stars

Reviewing customer service only, have NOT done a tattoo here!
I was on my trip all the way from Ontario. I contacted the shop asking if spots are available. Through the email, they told me that one the artists is available.blablabla.please call to book an appointment.
I called right away, lady on the phone, didn't know about my emails at all, didn't know what I was talking about. Once we figure out what I want and need, she told me that the artist they recommend at the beginning is not available.
Afterwords, lady told me that she will send my references and details to other artist and will get back to me.
Never called. Never emailed.
I guess overbooked or just simple not care.
Very sad especially when u know that someone from other province wants to get tattoo by you, disappointed

1) The place is clean, artists follow sanitary and health protocol. Can be crowded and busy especially during the day. That is a good thing, if people are coming in and phones are busy for booking appointments then that is a good indicator that Atticus have a fairly good rep.

2) Front Office is helpful with giving you the information you needed. Personable, professional, no beating around the bush. They do not assign artists to you based on the hourly rate, they assign based on who specialize on kind if tattoo you wanna have. Deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE and that is clearly stated even before you make an appointment, I believe it is even posted on the wall. As long as you are giving them the information they need, book your appointments in advance and have ample time to think through with what you really want and communicate with the artists, then all should be well.

3) My first tattoos are done by Meghan and the second ones are by Kaylie. And I say they are great artists in a sense that they to communicate with you and make sure that all is clear with regards to the design you want, how you want it to look like etc. With touch-ups I am not sure if it free or depending on what the artists promised you, so do not expect that if it is no charge for one artists, that it's the same for the rest.

Will I come back to get another tattoo done? Yes.
Will I recommend this place to others? Yes.

Concisely, I do not recommend this shop, I will never go back here, & I will not be shy about sharing my own experience about Atticus with others considering I left with a botched tattoo & was accused of stealing a touch up service by a desk worker (Michelle), even though I confirmed with a different receptionist that the touch-up appointment will be free days prior to coming in. The story is: I received a red ink script tattoo from an artist Heather, who was working there in Feb 2020. I followed her aftercare to a T (this was not my first tattoo either) & the script healed terribly. 1 letter of the word had noticeably scarred & it was virtually illegible due to the thickness of the lettering. Imagine my disappointment with such a sentimental tattoo that was trusted at this shop, with this artist. Fast forward one year later when I was tired of trying to ignore/hide this tattoo that I honestly was embarrassed about & so disappointed with, I reached out to the shop via Instagram direct message to see if they would be able to offer me anything considering the indisputable mistake that the artist made when tattooing me initially. They invited me to come in for one hour with their senior artist Jon, who was going to go over it with black ink. They called me a few days before my appointment asking me to send over a $150 deposit for my session which I declined & said something around the lines of "I'm not interested in paying anything just considering the circumstances- I dmed you guys on instagram explaining why I'm coming in & because I believe what happened to me initially was a big mistake I really do not need to keep the appointment if there will be a charge". The girl on the phone replied with "oh you're the girl with the red ink tattoo on your hip? Yes I remember you dmed us, no that will be just fine there's no charge, see you when you come in". I arrived one the day of the appointment & Jon had a look at it in real life he told me word for word "wow, heather really butchered this". He mentioned it's likely I will have to come back for touch ups & I was cool with that. However, immediately after I walked out of the shop after the service one of the receptionists called me, Michelle, and she cleary was not in agreeance that the work Jon just did for me should be at no charge & was very obviously not believing me when I assured her the girl I spoke with on the phone days prior clarified that that would be at no charge. She made me feel like I was trying to steal a service from the shop. She asked me the name of the girl I was saying I spoke to, when I did not remember, she snapped "well just so you know getting a free "touch up" for a tattoo over a year old is NOT something we do here and not how we do things". I tried to again explain but it was clear she felt the way she felt. In addition to this terrible experience with Michelle, for the senior artist to literally admit to me that my tattoo was "butchered" & still expect me to pay for them to fix it- especially from a business standpoint, is beyond me.but that is my personal opinion. I sent a follow up email asking where we go from here, as I would never have gone back in for them to ‘fix it’ if they were going to expect payment for my appointment & every necessary touch up thereafter; instead I seriously would have preferred to just start the removal process. I sent a very kind & direct email asking to speak to the owner & re-explained how I felt quite disrespected considering having to argue with Michelle about my touch up service & found that quite unprofessional. I gave them yet another chance to smooth it over with me & they chose to not do so. It has been twenty business days & they have not responded to my email. I am simply not willing to pay them for a mistake one of their artists made permanently on my body & as such my removal will be even more money now with this black ink on top that. Again- had I known this would change, I never would have come in again.

I was warned about Atticus by a close friend about how they charged her the same price to touch up a poorly done tattoo (charged the same price for a full tattoo in under a year). Most places I've seen will happily do tattoo touch ups for free under a year.

Yesterday, me and my pals booked piercings and were so excited. We drove into Calgary early and waited until our appointment was ready. Once our time came to get pierced, we were told that they were out of nose studs and wouldn't be able to be pierced. They never called us to tell us they were out. Pretty unprofessional if you ask me.

My tattoo artist was great, however when I booked my appt it was for myself and my friend to get matching tattoos. They did NOT book enough time for my artist to do my friend, and booked her for the rest of the night, sending us away with only one of us getting tattooed. Not impressed.

We went to Atticus and got tattoos on the side of our foot and ankle. Within 2 weeks the tattoo on the foot was worn off to the point you can't can't read the words. The one on the ankle has faded and looks like it's from years ago. They do not provide touch ups for tattoos on the foot. We did have to sign a waiver stating some spots on the foot are not ideal for tattoos. But they did not verbally say anything to us about it being a poor location or that it would come off in a matter of weeks. Now I have this ugly blur of ink that no one can tell what it is.very unimpressed.

I went to Atticus for my first tattoo and it was great! I came in as a walk-in and Gage did my tattoo. He made me feel comfortable and he was great to talk to while he did my tattoo. It didn't take long and everything was as clean and professional as a tattoo shop can get. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a tattoo.

Fairly new to the tattoo world and I saw Simon for a walk in and was so incredibly impressed. The whole enivornment of Atticus just instantly made me feel comfortable. Simon took my idea and within minutes created exactly what I wanted. He created a simple and small piece into something intricate with plenty of detail. He is a very talented artist and I will definitely be revisiting next time I am in Calgary!

Cancelled my appointment 2 weeks in advance and could not get my deposit back. Basically spent $250 in this place just to talk to an artist for less than 10 mins about a design that l wanted to get but now can"t. Absolutely stupid policy. I guess they really need money that badly.

Amazing staff and artists! Everyone is super welcoming and you don't feel rushed when doing a consultation. The artist I had Gaga listened to my ideas and helped work out a great tattoo with everything I wanted.

Dana was great. She did an excellent job on my tattoo. The reason for the 3 stars is because of how long I had to wait and the surprise pricing at the end. None the less, the shop was clean and the staff seemed friendly enough. Although I am not too fond of the non-refundable deposit I would still recommend them.

I had my first tattoo here with Simon and my second larger back piece with Wyoming. Both excellent experiences both for different reasons! Simon is the perfect artist for first time tattoos, talkative, reassuring, and just great. Wyoming has the style I love, super professional, very quiet, and very patient for a fidgety person like myself. Only reason it's 4 stars is a bad experience with Gage with my husband. If the bad experience all gets worked out we'll return for a leg tattoo in the future. If not we'll probably go somewhere else. Still a great shop, congratulations on the move to the new building

First Memorial Tattoo I have gotten in honour of my daughter who passed away when she was 2. Yesterday she would have turned 5, and i decided to get her last hand print we took before she passed tattooed on my arm.

Not only was ALL the Staff welcoming, they were more then understanding of how difficult of a decision this was for me.

Murray was so amazing with allowing me to take as many photos as i wanted throughout the process, shared with me what detail would look best. Why he was using different needles. His detail and shading is impeccable. He seriously made this experience a memorable one.

I am more then in love with my tattoo, and can’t wait to go back to get more.

I am so beyond impressed with Atticus tattoo! The environment is professional and clean. I got a custom piece on my upper arm done by Dana. She was so amazing through the entire process. When I sat with her initially for my consultation she took the time to listen to my vision and made it truly come to life with her artistic touch and talent.
The day I got my tattoo done I continued to be impressed. My tattoo took just over 4 hours. I had a private room equipped with a tv and Netflix. Dana really takes extra care and effort and you can see it in the beautiful end result of my tattoo!

I highly recommend Jon! He is amazing! My daughter and I booked our tattoos not knowing which artist we should go with. We were directed to Jon. We were both a bit Leary especially my daughter since it was her first tattoo. Jon right away made us feel as ease. He did exactly what we wanted him to do. The tattoos turned out perfectly. I booked a second tattoo for a week later. Again Jon was amazing. He has a way of calming you and making you feel at ease. He is very personable and did exactly what I wanted. He exceeded my expectations. The detail was better than I ever imagined. I will be back for my 3rd very soon!

JON IS AWESOME! I did my research for a while on tattoo shops around Calgary and Atticus met all the criteria I was looking for: expertise, sanitary, reasonable price, and reputable. I had my appointment with Jon and was so anxious for my first tattoo, that I had him re-position the stencil 3 times. He was so patient and super nice. He made me feel comfortable and was lovely to talk to, which helped calm the “first tattoo” stress. Jon knows what he’s doing, and is very knowledgeable, skilled, and sanitary. My tattoo came out exactly how I wanted and healed very nicely. Not to mention, the staff is super friendly and they have parking in the back! 100% recommend!

Today, I visited ATTICUS TATTOO and was really delighted to learn that an Artist could fit me in right away. Caleb has excellent technical and artistic skills. My tattoo is beautiful! The Staff are all wonderful, happy and extremely helpful! OUTSTANDING experience! Thank you!

Chris is an AMAZING tattoo artist. He did a phenomenal coverup on a piece I was unhappy with that I had done elsewhere. I recently went back to see him to get another tattoo done and am beyond happy with the finished work. Would recommend coming here for sure! Our appointment was made last night on short notice for 7: 45. We arrived at 7: 20 in hopes of getting in early or at least being there way before we were supposed to, to accommodate, since the store was closing at 8: 30. My fiance and I had 2 small letters and a + sign tattooed on our left arms all of which took less than a half hour for both of us combined (including sterilizing etc). The shop was clean, bright and professional. Our tattoo artist Wyoming was easy going, easy to talk to and all around really cool guy that did a great job on our letters. However - the reason Im only giving a 2 star review is that we were charged for a full 2 hours. 4 letters and 2 + signs, in and out in under half an hour and charged over $300 ($375 with tip because our guy did a good job like i said).
Again, no qualms about the cleanliness or our artist but with the pricing. Wont be going back aside from touch ups (if need be) on our overpriced letters and definitely wont recommend based on that fact alone.

I had a Jon as an artist. The piece I wanted wasnt really his usual style, but he did an excellent job none the less. Would reccomend this place for sure.

I came in for a consult, and Megan was able to do the tattoo for me within the hour. She was incredibly accommodating and sweet, and the shop was fantastic. Great experience, I will definitely be back!

I'm from out of province and one of the things I wanted to do when I came in was to get my next piece done. Alex was great. She corresponded with me over email about the design, style and colours. So even though I couldn't get in for a consult this worked perfectly for me.
Day of the tattoo; the atmosphere of the shop was relaxed and welcoming. Alex was totally chill, professional and easy to work with to perfect the look I wanted. I loved the final piece.
I am already planning my next one and am going back to Alex.

Wonderful shop! Just got a tattoo done there by Alex and it looks amazing! Very professional artists who know what they are doing and a very pleasant environment to be in will for sure be back for another tattoo as soon as I can!
