Had a bad haircut from Great Clips and so I booked a appointment.me being autistic I needed to look professional as I also work in the restaurant business, When I got there I got greated like I was already family (something I like to see) Paige was the greeter (can't remember the other amazing woman who helped me out) but both paige and the other woman managed to fix my hair the way I wanted it. I can't thank them enough for helping me out. Paige thank you and the other woman so much for fixing a terrible cut I am greatful you both where there to fix a disaster.

I am a fairly new client of Vanessa’s. My first cut with her was back in February of this year and I just finished my 3rd appointment with her today, June 24th/2023.
She LISTENS. She explains. And she is absolutely amazing at cutting my naturally curly hair. I am obsessed with my hair now and am always receiving compliments. I hope she’s around for a long time!

Tye Garcia is my stylist and he’s the man, he is the only person I will let cut my hair as he does exactly what I want.an he will even suggest some stuff that he thinks will look good on you, he does not do it unless you give him the Okay, and such a genuine human being always a blast talking with him!

Kelsey is always professional and very skilled. She uses great products and explains their benefits. I always have a lovely experience, and get lots of compliments about my hair!

I left a detailed negative review about this place in December. It took them a couple weeks to reach out about the issue. Kiko did my cut and colour - both were very poorly done. They did offer to bring me in and fix my haircut and colour with one of their master stylists. I decided to go and fix my cut. I will never go there again, but I appreciate them fixing my uneven hair.

The whole team was welcoming and went above and beyond to make sure I enjoyed the experience. They were also very attentive in making sure I got the look I was going for. Been coming here for a few years and will definitely be back! ️

All the stylists at the Whyte Avenue Salon are amazing, and they work super well as a team. The unique character and girly vibe make coming here a real treat. Stylists provide a stress free environment for clients needing a variety of services and care. For older customers like myself with long hair, Cassidy, Vanessa, and Kelsey take their time to make me feel appreciated and relaxed. I leave feeling great and looking my best.

Laurel is a wonderful stylist and amazing colourist. Option of scalp massage, cocktails, the occasional puppy visitors and aveda products - all highly recommend.

They are a nice place to go for a haircut and have natural products that are animal cruelty free. That's a must.

I just got a little trim and a clean up of my face framing pieces and it was an excellent experience. My stylist was Maia. She was lovely to talk to and did my hair exactly how I wanted it. I will definitely request her when I come back!

Kiko is such an amazing hairstylist. I go to Aveda whenever I need a trim or a wash and Kiko has always done my hair. She is flexible and accommodates to my schedule. This hair salon has a great environment and it is a pleasure to see kiko there!

Sadie is my stylist and she’s excellent, very quick, fun to chat with and very accommodating with my schedule. Love getting my colours done here, no harsh chemicals that do damage to my scalp. The products and services are high quality with excellent results. My favourite is the $35 conditioning treatment I get that 5 times per year. This salon is a well oiled machine where you feel very attended to from A-Z / products are worth every penny. Spend more but use less (results speak for themselves) and the smell is intoxicating the tea is my favourite

I have been to many hairdressers but Brigette is the BEST! You can show her a picture and she can get it spot on! Girls at reception are always so welcoming and make you feel like they are truly happy to see you. LOVE AVENUE SALON ON WHYTE

I have been seeing Kelsey at Avenue Salons for years. With age starting to show, Kelsey is amazing at making me look like the natural red hair I was born with. I’ve had many people comment that they’d never know I color my hair and that to me is the mark of an excellent colorist. She is friendly, efficient, and a master as what she does. The salon is welcoming and comfortable - always a nice way to spend part of my day. Highly recommend Avenue Salons and especially Kelsey for hair needs. Aveda products, while an investment, are excellent and I’ve never gone back to anything else since using them.

Sadie really saved me here… I’d been walking around with a huge patch on the back of my head and had no idea. I’m now all evenly blonde, my hair is somehow still soft as hell and I feel like I can strut my stuff as confidently as I should be. Customer service and technique on point.

I had business trip, but stoped by this salon to try my luck. Morgan cut and hair, and both her and I are very happy with her work. Highly recommend.

I had such a wonderful experience here! I didn't have an appointment booked but I didn't have to wait long, less than ten minutes. Since I have never been here I wasn't expecting anything more than a haircut so i was delighted when my stylist, Cassidy, gave me a massage and washed my hair and even curled it afterwards! The shampoos she used smelled wonderful and left my hair incredibly soft! As she put the products in my hair she explained what was in them and how they would affect my hair, which I really appreciated! Overall, I am really happy with my experience and my haircut!

Vanessa helped me out so much! I haven't had a good person deal with my hair in a long time, and my maintenance is terrible. Told her what I was looking for, and how I want to feel professional for my new promotion. She did exactly that. Also helped me out with recommendations on how to upkeep my hair. Will make the trip to come back and see her.

I’ve been a regular customer here for many years. The quality of service and the beautiful work keep me coming back. It’s such a pleasant atmosphere and the staff are super helpful. The last 4 years have been especially nice— great renos and additional services. Kelsey is awesome!

I was a hair model for a Journeyperson stylists that was receiving extra training. The atmosphere of the salon as you walk in is a very open concept, I was greeted nicely and asked to fill out a form for covid, then asked to wash my hands at the sink which I thought was a good cleanliness standard. As I walked through the back to the side where my stylist was I enjoyed the amount of room in the facility, it wasn't too cramped which made it less likely to be in close contact with another person other than the stylist. I moved from Sask to Edmonton and most hair salons where I am from are crowded, this was a breath of fresh air. I enjoyed the experience and the head massage ‍️.

I'm pretty new to the city and had been in search of a stylist, after leaving my last one of 20 plus years, I didn't think I'd find anyone to compare! So happy I was booked with Vanessa. She's amazing at cuts, color, blowouts, not to mention I feel 10 years younger when I walk out of there! Esthetic services are also top notch. Really like the Aveda products. No issues with my sensitive skin. I'd recommend

I really enjoyed my visit with Paige, her attention to detail and patience with the sheer amount of hair I have is boundless and my hair turned out looking very healthy, shiny, and soft despite lightening my virgin locks. Would totally visit again!

My hair type is curly 3B and I got streaking for the first time today done by Vanessa. Vanessa did an amazing job, she was knowledgeable about curly hair and different kinds of treatments. I was already afraid of bleaching my hair but I’m so happy for with the results and I couldn’t ask for anything better. She helped me out and I truly appreciate her! If you have curly hair go see Vanessa and see magic!

Worst experience ever. I got nothing that I asked for because the stylist who was doing my hair apparently wanted to do her own thing. For instance, this is what I got after asking specifically (and multiple times) for the gray on my sides to be covered. She also informed me at the big reveal at the end that what she decided to do would look "more professional" when I specifically wanted something radically different. I sent an email expressing my disappointment I was called several days later and was offered a chance to come in and have their color specialist redo my hair. Not only did I not trust them anymore I did not want to get my hair over-processed. I was told that I would be called back in a few days to further discuss options and they didn't phone back when they said they would so I had to send in another email. When they finally did call, they only offered a gift certificate back to their salon! I didn't find this option reasonable or appropriate but was left in no doubt that they didn't care. Good luck those of you who plan on going to Aveda on Whyte avenue. I hope you do not get bilked out of $200+ dollars for a dye job that looks like you did it at home when you were drunk.

Denissa is an amazing hair stylist, she is honest and always has the best suggestions. She is an active listener which I find is very important in this industry.
She is a great to talk to and gives great advice, almost so good I feel I should be paying her as my therapist as well.
It's why I make the drive all the way from north side to the south side!
All in all a great experience!

My mother has blonde curly hair and made an appointment to get it styled for a wedding as a treat for her (she never gets it styled). I specifically asked for someone with experience with curly hair. The stylist kept saying her hair “was not working for her” and it took nearly two hours for it to be styled and it looked like a frizzy mess. Straight it the front and fuzzy in the back. Completely COATED in excessive product. She had my 15 year old sister re-do it afterwards and it honestly it looked better. She was very disappointed and felt as though she was blaming her hair. She was very distraught afterwards. It was a stressful, awkward and expensive experience for nothing. I will not return here.
