Great Venezuelan food offerings served up hot. There is a good array of variety in the food offerings here. The space is a humble spot on Whyte Avenue with some cool adornments on the walls. The service on this day was ok. And the atmosphere was not very lively as the place was empty. But overall, we enjoyed our experience.
The food was great! I had beef empanadas and the other people ppl in my party had the mishroom arepa and the Trinidad (which was a beautiful beef arepa). When I go again I will get the beef arepa. Amazing flavour, so good. It was my 1st time trying Venezuelan food and I loved it. 10/10. My friend also got a coconut drink and it was really good! Fresh coconut for sure.
I've dined here and had take out from here many times over the years. Its been great every time - one of my personal favorite spots! Also, I am celiac and it is very gluten free friendly, and I've never been sick.
I love the atmosphere and food here! I take my family here everyone they come to Edmonton. They are very accommodating for my gluten allergy as there are tons of gluten free options, so delicious:)
Amazing service, atmosphere, and food. Will definitely be going again! Conscientious of dietary restrictions, and trusted the chef to ensure we were safe to eat.
We volunteered at the Together Again Music Festival all weekend. We kept going back to Avila Arepa's food truck Mr Capy because their food was the absolute best! Check them out when you see next see their truck.
Their brunch is 10/10 delicious! I thought perhaps it wouldn’t be traditional enough (more mainstream) but I was wrong! Absolutely delicious Venezuelan style breakfast/brunch offerings, that include arepas. I ordered the Traditional, which I would highly recommend! Amazing place to try if you’re looking for a new brunch spot.
Would have given a 5 for the excellent service and attitude. Opportunity to pay extra attention to key details. Found a little piece of (dishwasher) cleaning sponge in a juice we bought today.
Didn’t get to try. Sat at a table for ten minutes (someone told me to take a seat and look at the menu) and they just never came back. I was the only person in the restaurant. I waved on my way out, and they just waved back at me and went back to doing what they were doing. Heard it’s good here but service is lacking unfortunately.
I ordered an arepa with beef and de mano cheese and when I tell you it was one of, if not, the, best thing I have ever had the pleasure of eating, I’m not kidding. The marinade they use for their beef is absolutely mouthwatering. If you’re looking for some top notch handheld food on whyte, this is the place. Instantly a new regular spot for me.
My family and I had a wonderful time at Avila Arepa. It was our first time being here, my toddlers had the yukka fries & chicken empanadas. I had the pantacones (beans & vegan meat) and my husband had the arepa with pulled beef, beans, cheese and plantains. Everything tasted amazing. Loved all the sauces. My toddlers ate everything. Mary our server was amazing! Thank you for such a great experience!
Amazing food, wonderful aesthetic, and a welcoming atmosphere. I absolutely recommend trying the empanadas and the arepitas, especially if it's your first time Vamanos!
We love to try different cuisines, but this place was disapointing. The gentleman working was kind and helpful, but the food was so greasy/bland. I couldn't even finish mine.
This restaurant is a real treat! The food & drinks are absolutely amazing. The Chef is very skilled at making traditional Venezuelan cuisine. Top quality meals at a reasonable price point. You definitely get more than what you pay for. I would recommend for those looking for gluten-free option or more of a "home-cooking" type of comfort food.
Just a wonderful place and ask him for any variation the corn pancakes are just to die for especially if you're gluten-free and you want an alternative to bread just magnificent so authentic yay hooray
It had always been on my list of “to-try restaurants”, especially after I saw their seasonal/holiday dishes. Finally I ordered the hallaca and the pan de jamón for New Year’s Eve dinner - it was a nice experience ordering the food online and communicating with them for delivery to my place. The food was awesome and wrapped and delivered with so much care and attention to details! I will definitely order their food again. Highly recommend people who love Latin food and would like to try Venezuelan food to order food from Ávila Arepa!
