The reason the only good reviews are from people involved in no fault claims is because they weren't dealing with their insurance they were dealing with the insurance of the person that hit them.

Asked for a quote. Then they issued a charge and said I didn't cancel the policy in writing and have had their MGR Capital affiliate call me 7-8 times in less than 48 hrs from 7-8 different phone Numbers. This company is horrible, and should not be allowed to conduct business in this country. I can't believe this is allowed! These companies really need to understand harassment. I think they are trying to collect a cancellation charge for a quote! Beware of this scam and Aviva Insurance! Find another company.

It's unreal that we let corporations treat us like this. Please, please, please stay so far away from this company. I had a total loss car and was passed around from insurance adjuster to adjuster for the first month of my claim. When someone finally did start getting the ball rolling, This was the offer on a car with 40k KMs. 12000. Can you imagine a lower offer?

When I tried to show comparables for my make and model, they would not accept Facebook Marketplace cars as they "don't have access to social media at work". They also refused to use Kelly's Blue Book or JD Power Tools to come up with a fair price.

I had to hire my own evaluator to come up, inspect my car, come up with a fair price, and negotiate on my behalf. He was able to get the price up by 50%, and I still felt like I had left money on the table, but three months later, you are just so beat down that you give up. It's criminal that insurance companies are allowed to treat us like this.

Aviva will not hesitate to take your money, however when you need them they do not reciprocate.

We are involved in a not at fault collision, it has been reported to the police and it is 100% other involved parties fault. The car is undrivable and is waiting at the tow yard for assessment. Sure Aviva gave us a rental, however that ran out in 2 weeks. Our car did not get evaluated for 1 week, then dealing with the adjuster has been a headache, as he is dragging on the process, leaving us with no rental now. It is causing undoing hardships and Aviva is lacking the compassion to resolve this matter in a timely fashion. But they will not hesitate to take your money tho: D.

10/10 will not recommend and will not be renewing.

First time trying to use the Aviva roadside asistance last night after being involved in an accident and my vehicle was not driveable. I was hold for approximately 2 hours and never got to talk to anyone. In the end I just called a tow truck company.

Environment Canada confirmed at lightning strike within 68 meters of my home when we were away on vacation… when we got home, we had roughly 8,000$ in damages to circuit boards on furnace and garage door motor… TVs fried, PlayStations fried etc. Olive Walters has been my adjuster…. She rarely returns emails or phone calls. We simply don’t seem like a priority to her. They don’t think a home inspection is warranted… and they want to pull all of my electronics from my home to have them inspected… even the ones that don’t turn on. Yet she was okay with having a Lydale rep inspect my attic space and sign off on that, even tho he isn’t certified to even inspect a roof structure or attic space. Aviva has no problem signing off on a 700,000$ home that’s okay I’m their eyes from Toronto, but they won’t trust the Lydale rep that some TVs need to be replaced. You’d think they would want a home inspection done given a strike that was confirmed through environment Canada directly. Stay far far away from Aviva. We will

WORST COMPANY EVER! Do not deal with them. My brother has been with Aviva for over 7 years on 2 holiday trailers and have never filed a claim till now. Not only do I not have my trailer fixed but my summer is ruined as I could not used my trailer at all. Blair McGregor and Laura-May Whittingham in my option should find different professions as customer service means nothing to them. As soon as my policy is up for renewal I will be looking someone else. If I could I would not even give 1 star. Horrible service completely.

The worst insurance ever. Customer service is terrible to deal with. We will never use and recommend Aviva. Just awful.

Why will I contact you when I am no longer a customer? Why didn't you help us and did your best when we were still customer? Any means of communication with you was always a struggle. Your call center agents are useless, unprofessional, and says different things everytime. You have 1.5 stars review which is disgusting. Aren't you ashamed of that? Wake up! Change your system!

I’ve been dealing with a claim for over 4 months now. Been transferred to 4 different adjusters. Our 3rd adjuster left us in the dark for over a month, finally called Aviva and they told me she doesn’t work there anymore. My house had a flood and 3 people in the family have major asthma, we’ve been living in this house with ripped out floors and ceilings. If you wanna save yourself the headache don’t go with this insurance company as they do not care about people’s health and well-being.

Terrible experience. I was with them for years and then thought that I was going to travel abroad for a year so I needed to cancel my policy. They told me everything was fine and I would have to make 1 last payment. I received a letter directly from Aviva saying the amount that would be withdrawn and that they would take it automatically from my account. I thought everything was great until a month later I got a letter saying I didn’t pay and that if I didn’t in the next 10 days it would go to collections. I instantly called in and explained that I thought they were taking the payment automatically and they said that no because they aren’t authorized to do that… okay so why are you sending out letters saying that you are withdrawing automatically. It makes absolutely no sense! Anyways I made the payment and thought everything was fine. But then today I called in to get an auto insurance quote from a few places since I need insurance again and they all were crazy expensive and wanted me to pay the entire year up front. I was very confused because I have never had to do this… I didn’t want to go with Aviva because my previous experience with them but then called into my broker to see if I could maybe get a policy through them with a monthly payment. She told me that it’s showing up that my policy was cancelled due to non payment… well now it makes sense why all the other companies want me to pay upfront. It’s a complete lie and the only reason the payment was late was because they told me they would take it automatically. This company is a joke!

Worst experience ever going through. I had accident on 3rd Dec, same day reported and it is now one week didn't heard back. I have not even one word as they are not answering call and always going on voice mail and no response back. I have no car and suffering in Uber from pocket. Have no hopes what gonna happen and when they going to decide to tow car, give rental or not or written off or repair.just suffering. Please plz never go for them

Edit: after review they changed our agent. New agent is answering calls but seems nothing is in her hand as she always says appraisal team is not answering even insurance company give them everything and agent told me as repair cost is less may be they gonna repair it what when?
No clue, neither agent knows. She sent reminders to appraisal girl to act even after 3 weeks of hearing back from insurance but may be they just don't want to serve customer. Still going through worst experience and traveling by uber as rental was not covered.
Will update if things change.

I was with Aviva, they have thousands of secrets clauses on their contracts and when even a flood happens they simply show you those clauses written in tiny fonts and deny your claims. Be very careful.

They charge you less and you think you are saving, but when there is a loss to your property, they come up with thousands of excuses and leave you alone. Plus, every year they increase your premium without even having a claim.

They are faud!

Do not recommend them at all.

Absolutely painful to deal with, haven't heard from my insurance adjuster in over a week, they will not pay me my insured value or for any dime I have into my insured item. I've never had this issue with other insurance companies in the past

Surprise surprise sending them my number did nothing, it's been almost three weeks since I've heard from my adjuster I cannot warn people enough how horrible they are to deal with, and on top of that very unfair and won't answer any of my questions

Beware of this insurance company. My daughter was hit by a car that ran a red light. Her car had to be written off. She agreed to a settlement amount on Sept 23. Was told it would take 3 business days to deposit into her account. They failed to start processing the claim, had to submit forms on the 26. Called on the 29, was told that because the next day was a holiday she wouldn’t see it until Oct 3. Called on Oct 3 and was told that the processing wasn’t started until the 28. They have stopped replying to her emails. They took the rental back Sept 28. No car since then, no settlement still and it’s Oct 5. How is my daughter to buy a car or even get to work for that matter?
