Backyard Birds Nature Shop

Love this store. Visit every time I'm visiting family in Stony Plain.
So many beautiful back yard feeders, birdhouses and nature-related gifts. Local grown bird feed also.
Staff are so friendly and helpful.

Absolutely great and amazing store with a tranquil and peaceful atmosphere. Great selection of nature and bird items, they support local artists and craftsmen as well as indigenous people with homemade and handcrafted trinket and gift items available at the store. Owner (s) and all staff are a pleasure to interact with and are knowledgeable and friendly. My husband and I frequent this beautiful place several times a month because it is just such a great atmosphere and place to shop and visit.

This is by far the most peaceful store I know.
The staff, products and even the cat at the entrance, everything there is soooo nice.
Combined with great service and a wide variety of good products -this is a prime example of how to run a business successful.

I was so happy to find this local gem! They have the best selection of seeds/nuts I’ve seen, and tons of cute garden products and gifts.
But my 5 star review is for the customer service. I had issues with a product that I purchased there, and when I called the store to inform them they went above AND wayyyy beyond what I expected to make it right! The owner sincerely cares for her store and the people who enter it.
It’s probably the best customer service interaction I’ve ever had.

A lovely shop that has an amazing array of feeders, wild bird feed, passion, and advice. I won't shop for wild bird accessories anywhere else. Highly recommend! I've seen loads of more uncommon birds in my backyard since introducing their feeders & seeds.

What a beautiful new store in Spruce Grove! Wonderful selection of everything I need for watching the birds in my backyard. Some really lovely and unique gift items too!

Stopped into Backyard Birds Nature Shop today and was so delighted by the service and array of products! Seems like a great addition to the community, and always happy to support local.

Love this shop! I had a squirrel eating all my bird food and I thought I was going to have to get a new feeder. Alana is so knowledgeable and recommended a different feed that birds like but squirrels hate, which allowed me to keep using my same feeder (update: it totally worked, the squirrels now leave this feeder alone). I decided to get another feeder while I was at it and will definitely be back again!

The customer service is awesome, the staff was very knowledgeable and made it easy to pick what you needed for your backyard birds.

Such a beautiful shop! They have a lot of stock for being in a smaller city, the owner Alana Tollenaar (who was working when I went in) is an absolute sweetheart and very knowledgeable, and the prices were so affordable I thought they were marked wrong when she was ringing me up. I had normally only bought my birding supplies in larger box stores, but never again! This shop is now a regular in my rotation, and I think it should be on every person list (even if you don't like birding). There are gifts, decorations, handmade items, books, baths, feeders, and from all the products I saw the are locally sourced from within Alberta which is something I love. Really great place to stop in a shop and I definitely would recommend buying from here over anywhere else in the greater Edmonton Area.
