The beer and atmosphere was very good. The service was ok, but the fried chicken was VERY underwhelming.

It's a great bar - we go fairly often and it's always been good to us. Last night we had a big group (around 15) and our server Tom dealt with it like a pro. We switched seats, ordered food at different times, no fuss, no worries, just great service. Thanks for hosting us again, and we'll be back for sure

Great spot on Banff Avenue for a refreshment and a bite to eat! We stopped here for a snack and got the pierogies. They were excellent! I was disappointed that they were out of the cheese curds to make the poutine, but other than that it was a great experience. We sat outside at the bar that overlooks Banff avenue. Great views! The service was friendly and quick!

One of the worst meals I have ever had. Our waitress was very nice, but it took far more than half an hour for our food to arrive. When my Crispy chicken sandwich finally did appear, it was slimy and awful. I never leave food on my plate, but I couldn’t get through this sandwich atrocity.

Probably one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time! The house made pickles were amazing and the gnocchi was the best gnocchi I’ve ever had. I will go there again anytime I’m back in Banff.

Went on a Thursday, pizza half price and steins (32 oz beers) at 10$. Good beer choices and the pizza is pretty big for the price.

Good Beer, Good atmosphere, good food. What made our experience was Ally the bar attended, she was really knowledgeable of the beers and by telling her our likes and dislikes she picked the best beer for us first go. We have since returned multiple times and brought many friends here, all of which like the place also. Thanks

The food that we ordered was good, it's just a shame that after ordering appetizers it took 40 mins for a member of staff to ask if we wanted anything else. Clearly understaffed or undertrained.

Won't be returning and that's a shame as food and beer we had was amazing. Just goes to show you are only as good as your staff.

Really solid pizzas here! The award winning beers were also great! The lounge area was bright and had a good lunch atmosphere and lots of seating space. Most people were going into the pub space which looked like it had character also. Would recommend for pizza!

Service was alright for a pick up, was greeted quickly. But that’s where the good times ended. Got the food back to the hotel and we had ordered calamari, soft buttery pretzels fried chicken and the smash burger. The calamari was very poor in amount and taste. Very bland and the amount of the order was very small not worth 18$ at all. The pretzels were extremely dry and were rock hard but $$ value was alright. Fried chicken was also dry and partially burnt. The smash burger was ok not great but was the best food out of our order. Overall not very impressed with the food at all and won’t be returning.

Stopped here today to grab a quick pint. We do like their newer downstairs taproom; however, we found the beers expensive for Banff at $10.76 each. The server didn't seem to know much about their beers and the music they were playing was not befitting a taproom (maybe a trap house?), so we finished our beers and left in search of a better experience.

My experience here was ok. Not sure if I’d go back. The waiter we had was very good. He told us their were no ciders at all which was pretty disappointing considering it’s a brewery. I ordered a cocktail instead and couldn’t even taste the alcohol. My boyfriend got the steak sandwich for $29 which was literally 2 2x2 inch piece of bread with steak on top of it. So more of like a steak toast, for a child. It did taste good though. I had the bison burger which was good but nothing special. I did enjoy sitting on the small patio outside overlooking downtown

Good beer but my 8 year old nephew makes better nachos. Wouldn't recommend eating here. Jasper Brewing is way better in quality and taste.

Good food.friendly staff but I think they should tell you before hand when there is going to be a 20% gratuity added to the bill. We are already paying top dollar to eat in Banff and not telling you upfront just feels like a scam

Drinks were good, service was disastrous.
The place was 20% full, 5 pm on a Sunday.
Server came to us 6 times asking for our next order within 40 minutes.
Why? …
We (couple) told her at first we would only come for a drink and maybe more (we of course had in mind to stay longer for dinner).
She came 6 times and checked our drinks state to make sure she wouldn’t miss an opportunity to add up.
Been in a few pubs and restaurants here in Banff, never seen such a server.

The Lodge was amazing! The gatherer pizza was very rich, yet light and delicious. The tagliatelle had great texture (beautiful pasta!) and the summer squash salad with tomatoes was bangin’! GET THE SQUASH! The tomatoes were full of seasonal flavor. Our server was very kind and accommodating.

10/10 recommend this wholesome deliciousness!

The falafel burger and house salad were delicious.
The Alberta beef burger and beer left much to be desired.

We had a great time eating delicious food and drinks. The service was incredible and so friendly. Will be going back next time we are in Banff.

Loved the taproom so much we've visited every day for 4 days. Great food (best nachos we've tasted), great beer (recommend head smashed and gaia gruit), great music, and great service (super friendly, kind and accommodating). We're here for another 2 days and most likely will be in both days. Check the offers they have each day, half off appetisers was a steal!

Beer was pretty good, food was great. They had special saskatoon lemonade and amazing falafel burger. I really enjoyed the cobbler as well. Waiter was extremely nice and food came out pretty quick. I also really enjoyed the merch there such as the Albeerta hats and cool growlers on display.

I had a great time with family and friends at this Pub during our visit in Banff. It was Definitely worth the visit. I would love to come back here again some day.

They got some sick beer hats. Had lots of good beer and the food is so good that you'd think its a Gordon ramsay restaurant. Absolute beauty of a place.

We ordered take-out on our recent stay in Banff and it was excellent (the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich was great and huge)! Great value for your money, portions were big, food arrived warm. Will definitely eat here again.

An wonderful selection of craft beer, food is good. Can be crowded and certain times but noise level is not bad. Nicely decorated. Good specials.

The burgers seem not hand made, the presentation is really cheap. The buns were cold and very simple. Not a good experience for the price.

Thoroughly enjoyed! We wanted a taster flight but we're having trouble deciding. Server recommended 2 for the full line up and it was perfect! We had that with onion rings and calamari. Loved both! The calamari had an extra crunch; thinking corn meal? And the dip with the onion rings was great! Try the Blackberry beer, the porter and the 50 Shades of Earl Grey for a unique Beer experience!

Good experience with massive size portions. No complaints — the burgers, steak sandwich and poutine were all great. Patio can be a bit cramped but also gets nice views and access to some good sun on nice day. The rest of the restaurant has loads of space too. Some nice merch and gear too!

Drinks were good. Service was slow but our server was very attentive. The fries and gravy were cold and cheese curds wouldn't melt. So, can't speak to more than their ability to cook a simple Canadian dish.

Great beer even better burger! The sour was nice and the hazy IPA was excellent. Bison burger was very good!

The environment was great, the staff were proactive and somewhat urgent. Unfortunately the food was rather horrible. The Buffalo chicken sandwich and the calamari was I dare to say the worst style of the food I have tasted. I would probably give it a 2 and 1 respectfully out of 10. The sandwich was drenched in hot sauce and the calamari was over cooked, dry, peculiar tasting and certainly did not taste like seafood.

Friendly and speedy service even during Friday rush. Food and cocktails were great, super filling after a busy day. Music was top notch. I would be happy to return next trip!

Food is bland, drinks are blah, service is blah. They were even out of chicken wings.on a Saturday night! All their beers are boring. Skip this place, go to literally anywhere else in Banff to eat. I don't understand why this place was so busy - everything was quite lousy.

Awesome place to go for a quick bite after a long hike. I had the buffalo chicken sandwich, which was phenomenal. Never thought I'd say this, but it was actually the bread they use that brought that dish over the top.

I was at the bar on a Wednesday evening. The service was nothing short of spectacular. If a manager happens to see this review, PLEASE tell the bartender that night that I highly appreciate her going above and beyond. I was there Wednesday, October 27,2021 at approximately 9: 00PM.

Went there to try out the bison burger for 19$. Good, bit too much ketchup and mustard. Strangely, but a portion of Caesar (4$) is less expensive than some fancy blackberry lager (8,8 ($). And sorry, guys, but you don’t know how to prepare onions and batter for deep fried onion rings.

Really cool vibes, had the fish and chips, super good! The waitress accidentally charged us 35$ over from the table before us which wasn't great, but we got that fixed up. We learned to always check your bill!

Their stein special is great. And definitely dangerous. One of the few specials in Banff that are actually great value. Try to get a spot on their balcony because it is great for people watching as everyone walks by. Especially if Banff Ave continues to be closed to vehicles

Don't get the fish and chips. Totally overdone beer batter is wrong. Order the burger.there's no way you can f that up.

Thursday night $8.75 steins are prime! Beer prices on other nights are delightful. Plenty of TVs to watch sports. Logan is an awesome server.

Mediocre food, poor service, good beer. Quality of food is not worth the money. We ordered a poutine, nacho's, and the soft pretzels. Our poutine was served in a warm bowl but the gravy was stone cold and the fries were barely warm. We sent it back. They microwaved it, moved it to a different bowl, and sent it back. The nacho's were also microwaved but served over a piece of parchment paper in a 5lb cold cast iron pan. The pretzels were just OK, we weren't a fan of the cheese sauce or the mustard they were served with. I ordered a flight of 6 beer samples, I was only able to finish 4 but the ones I did try were very good. The service was awful! There really is nothing more to say about it. I'd drop in to grab some beer to go but wont be staying for any food services.

Had some appies and a couple beers on the patio. Good service and the wings and poutine were good, would recommend!

Definitely try the tacos and calamari. Very good, especially the tacos! Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.

Highly recommended. Their stout is a great pint. The Korean BBQ wings are a must try. I will be back

Would have given 5 stars if based on past experiences here. Always had amazing service in the past and appeared everyone worked together. Went here the other day and it seemed the only one running around and doing work was our server (tall guy with glasses, didn’t remember to catch his name). He was doing super awesome. Saw him serving and making drinks while a lot of the other staff just stood around chatting. Made it a very mediocre experience and don’t really have the desire to return again.

Staff is excellent! They know their stuff, are super friendly, and give awesome service. Will be back!

Great food and a decent cocktail menu (especially for a brewery). Wanted to stick around to try a beer or two but had to run. Looks like they have a good happy hour menu on Fridays and a late night menu too. Nice view over the main street on a nice day. The nachos for one were delicious with the perfect amount of toppings. Wouldn't hesitate to go back!

Great place for locallyade craft beers. And don't forgot to order their nachos splurge and get the jalapeño cheese sauce

The place to go after a day on the hill hands down! Atmosphere was good. Waitress was very pleasant and quick to help with our orders.

Great pub atmosphere with tasty snack food. Disappointed with cider selection. Can get very busy with a line after 6. Veggie burger is really good! Meatball sub is making hubby happy too. Previous visit nachos were great.

Delayed service. Food was average, overly priced. Had an allergy. Wrong meal was brought to table. Had to wait 2 hours for correct meal to arrive.

Great vibe, reasonable prices and fantastic service. Some really good beers on tap and the buffalo chicken sandwich is one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever eaten! Definitely recommend stopping here for bite and drink if you're in Banff.

A must stop if you are new to Banff and like beer! We’ve been to Banff three times now and Banff Ave Brewing has established itself as a staple during our annual trip to the area. The brewery has a great selection of beers and the place is pretty chill and never crowded (at least in the February month). The food is pretty good with a selection of burgers and sandwiches as wells as poutine which is delicious. I’ve ordered a burger and the chicken sandwich and they were both very good. We’ll certainly be back soon!

Such a fun place! Games and pool, plus great beer and Thursday night stein night! Eric was a very cool server and super helpful. Probably my favorite night in Banff!

Pricey but such a great vibe and yummy food. (i ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich, also tasted the gnocci and salmon from friends and they were) Not to mention the service was sweet.

Awesome place to go to while waiting for people, or an amazing stop to find out what the locals are doing in Banff. This local brewery has all the pub foods and amenities that you need. The bathrooms are clean, there are board games and a lot of food items on the menu. You can even bring home beers in growlers, and T-shirts are for sale.

We were drawn here because they have a good selection of beer, and the food menu looks great. We unfortunately wouldn't know what any of the food or beer tastes like as we seated ourselves, walking by 3 servers standing around who saw us but didn’t greet us or let us know someone would be with us shortly. We sat at our table for 20mins and had at least 6 servers walk by us without any acknowledgement (one of which was standing at the bar 6ft away from us the entire time). Forget ordering a drink or food, we were never spoken to or approached! Another couple walked in and were served within 5mins? Left a really sour taste in our mouths so we just left. So disappointed, really wanted to do a flight of beer and try the soft pretzels.

Been to a lot of craft breweries. This one was randomly located upstairs in one of the strips in banff, which I found odd. But the place itself was very nice, clean, and lively. Serving hours run a but earlier than other local areas, but if you collect growlers or glasses, this is a good place to hit.

Service was off. First waitress basically forgot about our table. Another waitress took over to save the day. Spaghetti and meatballs were a hit!

Stopped in late June 2018 on a chilly rainy day. I appreciated the cozy atmosphere. The food was good and the service was welcoming. Solid suds game as well! For a first experience in Canada I felt lucky to have been able to spend it hear.

They have all the classic pub food and some other options too. The spicy bison chili or the roasted beat salad. Highly suggest their beer taster or their liquor flights. Fairly busy place. But right down town and reasonably priced.

I just really don't get it. The food is ok, you always expect higher prices in Banff so all good but what is going on with the beer? It becomes obvious pretty quickly that the "brewer" is clearly not actually educated for such a position as every single beer available leaves nothing but a powerful hop taste in your mouth. The "blonde" is the worst of the bunch; nothing close to the definition of a true blonde beer but perhaps they simply don't clean their lines before changing tanks at their bar. To top it off they don't clean their glasses properly before pouring your drink, leaving a nice soapy residue in your glass at the very least; in our case, there were a few nice black and yellow grains covering the inside of 3 glasses in a row. Professionalism goes a long way in every industry and this dive is simply not up to standard. The atmosphere is great and the chef is top notch; would highly recommend the "brewer" train under a true professional with a brewing degree to understand what it takes to succeed appropriately for such a position. It's not just about getting drunk on something that goes down, but that seems like the aim of this "brewer"; a lightly applied term since they so lightly toss around the terms "blonde", "stout" and "Hefe". None of the beers here would fall in those categories sadly.

We chose this place from the reviews, and I think 4.2 is underrated and I'm going it give it 5 stars! What a great place! They don't take reservations, so be prepared to wait up to one hour for a table, but this is normal for Banff restaurants and worth the wait here. The waitress was really friendly, the restaurant is kid friendly with a great kids menu. It has a buzzing atmosphere. Was fun watching adults play on the pool tables, TVs showing Canadian sports. The food was delicious! We ordered nachos after reading reviews about them and they were so good. Both vegetarian and meat nachos were great. Good beers and the Ontario cab-merlot red wine was great. This is definitely worth a dinner when staying in Banff.
