Banff Inn

The front desk girl was very kind and friendly, however the manager was rude and unaccommodating to our situation. We were unable to travel to the hotel due to very cold weather and car troubles caused by the cold weather (-40°c with the wind-chill here in Calgary). I called the hotel a day before check-in to see if I could reschedule to a later date, cancel, have the hotel give me a credit, a discount, or anything that could help me out. Instead, the manager could not have cared less and because I was past the date of free cancellation, she would not do anything to help me out.

I had a week trip planned that I had canceled months earlier. Apparently the cancelation didn’t go through. The hotel sent me an email 48 hours before the trip to confirm and to have me reach out to hotel if plans have changed. I immediately reached out to the company I booked with because the room should have been canceled. They canceled the room and the hotel is still charging me about $125 US dollars. They wanted a 72 hour notice (more than most hotels)
In summary, they send the confirmation email 48 hours in advance so they can cash in if you decide to change your reservation. Not a place I recommend doing business with.

This was one of the worst hotel stay I have ever been at no microwave in room advertised balcony and there was barely anything, very rude front desk staff at check in and a bunch of hidden fees at outrageous prices. Room did not have a safety latch did not feel safe, I do not recommend staying here go next door to the fox!

The worst experience I've ever experienced. Lots of hidden fees. Manager was terrible, rude, and inhospitable. False advertising there was no breakfast. Beds are uncomfortable. No microwave. NO SAFETY LATCH? ! Very dry and cold rooms they wouldn't give us a extra blanket. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. I'd have had a better experience and accommodations sleeping in my car. DO NOT GO HERE! BEWARE!

While the hotel and amenities are a beautiful property… I had a similar very negative experience with one member of the hotel front desk staff. I recommend management consider removing this individual from a managerial role.

My hotel key stopped working roughy 8-10 times during the trip. I would return and explain the situation, this caused me understandable frustration that was met with a front desk manager who verbally berating me — saying it was my fault and stating that I simply didn’t know how to use a key… yep I wanted to walk back and forth to my room for

While nearly all interactions with manger were marked by a snide, catty, unpleasant tone - what took the cake was when he yelled at me in front of another guest.

I had walked in off the street to book my reservation Thursday to Sunday. But Saturday I showed up my last night wasn’t available… Elmer blamed this on my 3rd party booking.but I had walked in off the street.

Scrolling through the other reviews, it seems I’m not alone. Management I recommend you consider hiring more competent staff that understands customer service. Truly shocking!

Booked a room with my wife and 2 kids only to have a $62 surcharge for a 13 year old. Called to complain amd talked to a manager only to have them cancel my room on me and say they weren’t comfortable renting me a room… ruined my first trip to the mountains with my family! Extremely disappointed

I have a bad habit of choosing a hotel based on an affordable price and then regretting it. I did NOT regret choosing Banff Inn. It was far superior to what I was expecting. Beautiful building, my room was modern clean and inviting, the staff were super helpful, hottub sauna and steamroom all in great condition, and it even has underground parking! It's on the far end of the street that has all the action going on but if you aren't scared for go for a bit of a walk you'll be just fine to explore the downtown area if you'd rather not drive. Also Carlito's Pizza which is located in the lobby is a great restaurant and open late.

Nice clean big rooms, hottub/sauna/steam room was a nice bonus as was the underground heated parking (although the parkades abit small). Rooms didn't have a microwave, no breakfast was served in the morning and the coffee provided in the room was horrible. Tiny towels were provided for the spa, smallest I've ever seen.

Room was decent for the price. Front desk decided to stake his life to prevent us getting any bottled water. Kind of weird, dude.

As with accommodation in Banff, it was not cheap. The room was clean. Breakfast not included.

I had really bad experience of this hotel. The person on the front desk on July 02,2022 at around 7 pm who was calling himself a manager was so rude. I came with my 2 kids and they were really scared of his behavior. This person canceled our booking on the spot and was not ready to listen or solve the problem. Poor customer service he was showing. Also he called the police and when the officer came he denied the request of officer. Even the officer suggested us to leave the hotel because he also felt that the person on the front desk was not understanding anything. I every year stay in Banff during vacations but never had such a bad experience. Not recommended for stay. Moreover I would suggest management to take action against that particular worker as he is spoiling the reputation of your business. I will never recommend this hotel to anyone. I will really appreciate if someone from management reaches us. Thank you.

Not friendly staff, room A/C was loud and ineffective was a disaster, couldn’t sleep well through out my 3 nights stay, I will think twice to stay here next time

Horrible customer service. Please save your money and stay at a hotel that welcomes your business. Royal Canadian Lodge around the corner has far better customer service and superior rooms.

Staff were great. They let us check in early. Premium double was spacious with fridge and Keurig coffee maker. Bathroom was nice and clean, lots of towels and toiletries. Staff did a great job cleaning during our stay.

Relatively nice hotel. One receptionist was a little surly but others were fine. Little out of the centre but only a 15 min walk. Rooms a little tired but spacious

Was amazing place to be and incredible view to wake up too even! Was disappointed that on the website said free breakfast when we got me and my spouse room, but got there and ask "when does breakfast opens" and to be told they don't do that. Not conplaing was fine we figure ways to go get breakfast or make some just wish they told the before we arrived to the building.

Stayed in the 2 full beds plus a loft room. Very spacious for our needs, we were 4 people. Hot tub, infrared sauna and steam saunas were not busy, which was good. The steam sauna had a bit of a funky smell. When the underground parking is full,
you have to park outside. Someone hit my bumper, when I parked outside. No note, nothing. Not nice!

Great location. Rooms are clean but a bit outdated. Did have 1 issue with room service and clean towels being delivered to the room. The sauna, steam room and hot tub is a good addition. Bottom line, good place to rest your head while visiting Banff.

Nice place and I had a great mountain view from my room. I wish it had a full time restaurant on-site. The one they have is just opened for 4 hours in the evening. I also think their website should be updated to delete the sentence that says they're in the middle of everything because that's not true. You have to walk at least 5 blocks to get to the main street to be in the middle of everything.

The hotel rooms were good. No microwave which was shocking. The hallways were quiet. The pillows were pretty firm so if you like them soft, you'll need to bring your own.
