Banff Rocky Mountain Resort

First time staying at BRMR. We've had an excellent experience all around on rooms, exceptional customer service, and great amenities such as pool.and all condo style rooms. Rooms and facilities have been updated and upgraded. Wood fireplaces are a cozy apres-ski treat! Very clean and well appointed. Breakfast buffet is a great option for the ski crowd looking to get to the hill early. I rated 4 for location only to highlight that it is "out of town" at the end of Banff ave/tunnel mtn, bear the highway 1 on/off ramp. For those looking to be in Walking distance of down town amenities/nightlife this may not be a preferred option. However we loved how much "quieter" and in the woods it felt! Transport is not a problem as the hotel offers all day shuttles and the city bus for downtown and to canmore has a stop here! In the summer Thier is a bike /walking trail along the road to town and tunnel ave offers tons of mtn biking and hiking options from the property! We would return to this property in a heartbeat when we come back for skiing and biking in Canada premier national park.

The bed sheet, comforte and the mattress cover were dirty. The top sheet appeared clean. They had to be replaced. The comforter looked very old and yellowed with pink stain.
Floor appeared not to have been washed.

The view of the mountain is great. We had a direct view of the forest. Perfect access to the highway and Tunnel Mountain Rd. The bathroom was unfortunately not quite clean. The food in the restaurant was good, but the waiter made dinner unpleasant. (The table was not cleaned and we felt thrown out at the end).
The rest of the hotel staff and the shuttle service drivers are very accommodating.

I been coming back to same place since 2019 just because I LOVE IT but this time i had friends with me & they didnt have the same experience as i had, being honest cleaning service was badn front desk really tried to please us with the cleaning part and we grateful for that, i would come back again just because i really enjoy the cozy ambient they have but i hope they pay more attention to cleaning ppl. Besides that we really have a good time in town.

We had our wedding and reception here. It was amazing! The staff were unbelievable from the beginning. They made our day stress-free, beautiful, and the most incredible of our lives. The food was excellent. So many guests commented on how good the food was. Everything was PERFECT!
We loved the rooms and the entire layout of the landscaping. Stunning!

We just had the worst experience at this place. The room, bathrooms, floors, and stairs were smelly and gross. When we went to the front desk to try to cancel the room our son went ahead and used the bathroom. Because of this we weren’t allowed to cancel the room and get a refund but we did not stay and we’re there literally 3 hours. Do not stay here!

The staff was super helpful and made our stay more enjoyable by providing us a place to leave our bags between our check-out time and the time we retrieved our rental car. The room was cozy and exceeded our expectations. The location can be slightly bothersome if you don't have a means of transportation, but they provide many shuttles to and from downtown each day, which is very helpful!

What we paid for what we received is appalling. Sheets were visibly dirty, silverware was dirty, items left from prior guests were found behind the door, telling me the unit was not properly cleaned. Broken tiles, peeling paint and torn carpet. Not what you would expect for$600/night. I've stayed in similar price properties locally which were well maintained. Absolutely no excuse for this location to be charging what they are for the state of the units they are renting. I've also stayed in budget hotels/motels in much better shape than this at 1/10 the price. I'm shocked this place is rated as high as it is. I was embarrassed at the condition of the unit as I had out of town guests traveling with me.

Rooms and furniture very dated. The whole facility looks long in the tooth. Nice shuttle runs into town every hour. Staff accommodating when issues brought to their attention. Pickleball, tennis, grills, and playground on site.

We have been time share owners at BRMR for over 30 years. Each year we stay over the Christmas and New Years period and have sadly watched the continual degradation of the rooms and common facilities such as the change rooms and pool areas. Our adult kids used our week last year and pledged to never return as there was mold growing in both bathrooms, carpets were dirty and only vacuumed in the "used traffic areas" and the pool areas and change rooms were in such disgusting shape that they didn't go back after their first visit. We have decided to not pay our maintenance dues again this year as it is clear that none of our money actually goes into maintenance. We just received notice that our membership has been terminated without even the courtesy of a phone call after our long term relationship.
Good riddance and i advise anyone considering staying there to stay there as a place of last "resort"

Looks better on the pictures, is more a motel-type lodging. Food is good (breakfast & Dinner). Location quite outside of Banff, complimentary shuttle service only about every two hours. Big rooms.

Room was fairly well equipped, sofa had a large tear in it, was a clean room, check in experience was not the friendliest.

By looking at the hotel pictures, I booked this hotel. But in reality, when we went there I realized that they took pics in such a nice way that the hotel rooms appear to be so good.
The room given to us was having age old appliances, extrememly old and stinking sofa. Room was super small and no space for us to even keep our luggage in the bedroom.
Bathrooms were not cleaned properly and we have to request for a change of room which was also not great. Water pressure was too too high that we cant even bath because it hurts us. For our kid, I have to ask him to use a bottle to grab water and bath. It was a real nightmare staying in this hotel and we were literally waiting get out at the earliest.
The patio floor had a huge and deep crack. Sitting there was also uncomfortable.
They don't provide air conditioning. So warm inside. They gave a small table fan but there is no high table to place the fan in a position. We have to use our own luggages to add height to the table and place the mini-table fan so we atleast get some air while sleeping.
For this same cost, there are so many hotels giving a high quality accomodation. This hotel also did not provide us any breakfast. But for this horrible experience, we were charged around $500 per night.
Oh my God! I never want to visit this place any more and I will never ever recommend this place to anyone.

Highly disappointed, bathroom and overall room is not cleand and very old. Hotel staff is very rude though very expensive. Not recommended at all.

My family has been coming to this resort for years. It's situated just outside the town, but there is a shuttle that takes you back and forth at scheduled times.

Our room this year was clean and equipped with everything we needed. Having the full kitchen is nice. The bathroom was clean.

The pool area was spotless, though the hot tubs weren't very hot, especially the outdoor one.

Staff are friendly or not depending on who you talk to. Front desk was 50/50 to deal with, though I assume it has to do with new staff. The woman who checks your room number down at the pool wasn't very nice, and gave me a horribly dirty look when I left the pool area while glaring at the tattoos on my arm. Made me feel extremely uncomfortable.

Requested items were always brought in good time, such as towels and extra bedding. Though they don't provide cots or extra beds.

There are mice here, as other reviews stated, but you're in the middle of a national park. This is their home. We just didn't leave our door open for extended periods of time since they would try to come inside lol

Decent place to stay with family. Could definitely utilize some renovations, specially the floors.

My husband and I went there September 1 and 2nd to attend a wedding, which was also at the Banff Rocky Mountain Resort. Considering the amount of money that you have to pay each night it was quite a disappointment to us. Our key only worked half the time we kept having to go to the main office to get a new key. The first morning, our toilet overflowed, and our coffee pot didn’t work we phone to the main office & someone came with a coffee pot immediately, but we had to wait quite a while to get the toilet fixed.housekeeping, never came in to clean the room. I would never recommend this place to anyone

We had a mouse in our room. When I complained I was told that all the hotels in Banff have mice because it's a national park. I have stayed in other national parks without mice entering my hotel room, and I imagine the same is true of Banff - just maybe not at this hotel.

It's filthy! The room we stayed in was dirty, food from previous renters meals on the floor in the kitchen, for example. (So even if it is difficult to keep mice out, this place certainly isn't trying very hard.)

I was not offered a new room, but I was granted one when I asked. I asked for a room that had never had a complaint of a mouse and he told me he could not make such a promise. He could promise me no mouse sighting in the past month. Anyway, this room was also dirty.

Would definitely not recommend.

I would save your money and book another place! Paid over 500 a night and with that amount of money, I would expect an updated room that is renovated! In addition, the rooms were tiny! My friend booked another room at douglas fir and paid a similar amount and had a huge room with a loft in much better condition! Torn carpets and no service to the room. They told me i had to ask for it and again if i paid 120 a night i would understand! Matresses were horrible. Trust me, look around and if you want to spend that money during high season, do your research.

Overpriced as is all of Banff. Old rundown units. Need new rugs, furniture, complete reno. Tired facility. Hot tub outdoors is good.

Second visit, and perfect for what we need. No complaints. 3rd visit coming up. Wouldn't go anywhere else. Love this place. They have been so good to us.

Amazing place to stay at, the view frk here is simply worth it. There are full suites and ensuites options as well. There's other facilities like pool and hot tub, gym.
There's outdoor barbecues and picnic benches if you want to enjoy outside.
They also have restaurant.
You can explore the property.
You will see wildlife from the window, it was a blessing to see the elk family come by the windows every morning and evening.

This resort is old and dirty. Nothing has been renovated except the parking lot which looks newly paved. The rooms and washrooms especially are in bad condition. The tubs have fungus on them. We will never stay here again.

The room is fairly clean, but the attitude of the service staff is not very good. In addition, the check-in time is 16: 00, but they couldn't check us in on time, and it was delayed until 17: 00.
