Got referred to Richard C.from our Rv guy and went to see him about a small pontoon boat. The entire experience was great for us. Richard taught us everything we needed to know as well as tips and tricks (very knowledgable) for first timers, like ourselves. After the summer had past we realized we were “forever” boat people and knew a bit more about what we wanted (in a boat) longterm. Touched base with Richard again and he set us up with the perfect new pontoon. Both times we bought from Barry Jay’s (this year) were super easy, they work with your schedule and make everything super easy. Richard is always available to answer any of my questions about boats! I was in Barry's Jay a few days ago with some boat maintenance questions and was unexpectedly and pleasantly surprised to chat with Kyle, a technician at Barry Jay's. I'm sure they are busy in the back with boat winterizations but Kyle took the time to listen to my questions and offer some good advice. It was great to get it right from one of the technicians, which is not common in a lot of shops. The service has always been top notch and I would recommend this business.

Had a problem with my tilt/trim unit on a Force engine. Phoned around the province with no success. I phoned Barry Jay's & Rainbow Marine and talked with Julianna in the parts department. She found the part in store, shipped it, and I had it installed and running in two days. I have never met a more efficient parts person than Julianna, she is kind and concerned with your situation. I highly recommend Barry J Marine. I just completed a home built boat and purchased my 40hp mercury as well as a trailer for my boat from them as well as some other essentials. Richard was very helpful in the purchase and the personnel in the parts department were also awesome with my questions!

I needed a part for my Merc 45 Jet that was hard to find and would probably be a week or more to ship in and cost a lot more from other shops. Chris in the parts department helped me over the phone confirm the part I needed and had the part on hand and at a decent price. When I picked up the part I asked Neil at the Service counter for some "advice" to install the part. Neil went above and beyond to spend some time with me to ensure I install the part properly so the boat works this long weekend. Thanks for the help and advice! I am a customer that will be back again.

Simply Awesome! From the first call 2 months ago till today when I finally picked up my “Princecraft 162 Holiday Max” John McLevin has been so great to deal with. He put up with my weekly and at times daily phone calls where I would ask him to add accessories, change my mind on things or just looking for advice. I find John to be extremely knowledgeable on everything when it comes to boats, from changing the oil to getting it in the water and going for a cruise. I recently purchased 2021 Princecraft Vectra pontoon boat at Barry Jay's Marine. I was searching online for months for the boat that had all the specific details I wanted. Since I live in Calgary, and Barry Jay's is in Edmonton I had to contact the sales office. Salesman John McLEVIN was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and positive on the phone and explained all the options on the boat. He also sent me numerous photos of the boat. After speaking with John, he gained my trust and I felt confident to make an offer over the phone. We settled on a fair deal and John kept constant contact with me, updating me on the next steps and he ensured that the boat would be prepared for me to pick up on the scheduled date. On pick up day, John fully explained the mechanics of the boat. Following pick up, I had truck problems on the way home and John stayed late at work and offered to pick up the boat to keep it secure until the truck was fixed and provided me his cell phone number. I am fully satisfied with the whole experience with buying a boat from John. I would not hesitate to recommend anyone to buy a boat from John. I cant wait for the maiden voyage on Shuswap Lake.

Had the worst experience! Bought control box and brought it down to have it put on my board and have handle put back on in right positionand got back a box of part! $450 down the drain! Never going back! And going to better business bureau!

Visited several dealerships to purchase a boat and Barry Jay's was by far the most reasonable priced place with the most understanding and cooperative staff, RAY was my salesman and was there for me every step of the way along with Ken Wong who pulled some strings to make the purchase final.

It was not a great experience, I got a used boat, i told them I am a beginner and have no experience, they told me the boat is good no issues, I took the boat home, I decided to change the carpet, I found the floor completely rotten and wet, i removed the floor to find the boat full of water, I cleaned it changed the foam, the floor, fiber glass it, it costed me a lot, it would be better if I was told this boat is not suitable for me, either to forget it or buy more expensive one, anyway, I took it yesterday to the lake, the engine took long time to stat, but finally started, in the middle of the lake stopped and we have to paddle back to the boat launch, I was told the engine runs great no issues at all but needs battery and I did purchase it at their store, I followed every recommendation they recommended, it was not fun experience, I am trying to call them several times but on hold all the time. I will never recommend them to anyone buying used boat because of my experience.
